The Steamvault 6/22/08

After Shattered Halls we decided to try another instance, I said any one would be good except Shattered Halls, I had enough of that one for one day. We got another group together and headed into the Steamvaults, an instance in Zangarmarsh. This group was a lot more organized and we had a Paladin to tank which was better as I am really geared for DPS at the moment and feel more comfortable doing DPS. I can tank normal instances with the gear I have, all epic PvP not PvE gear, but I wouldn't last long as a tank in a Heroic instance. This group consisted of Wranngar as DPS, Yonezoe as healer, Dracesslewis a 70 Paladin as main tank, Strycker a 70 hunter as DPS and crowd control and Ilth of the Shattered Sun as off tank and DPS. We had a lot smoother run in this one with this group. Everything was marked and everyone waited until the main tank had good threat before jumping in. We worked our way through all the bosses to the end without much problem. We got a bunch of greens and some blues. Most of us were there to build rep but one person was there for a key fragment to another instance. All in all a great run and a good time.

Shattered Halls 6/22/08

Yonezoe wanted to build up her reputation with Honor Hold in Hellfire Peninsula and it wouldn't kill Wranngar to build up his either so we decided to run an instance. We decided on Shattered Halls which I had never been in before. There was Wranngar tanking, Yonezoe Healing, Drene a 70 Mage doing DPS and crowd control, Megavolt a 70 Shaman doing DPS and off tanking and Seriesh of the Shattered Sun another 70 Shaman doing DPS and off tanking. We did this instance way too fast and had some problems but we did manage to get through it and killed the last boss. This was Yonezoe's first real healing stint in an instance and she did pretty good. I need to work on my tanking skills although I didn't really have much opportunity to tank as people were hitting mobs before I had a chance to which defeats the whole purpose of having a tank. The tank needs to build up threat to be able to hold the mobs on them and I wasn't getting a chance to do that. Towards the end I got sick of trying to pull mobs, that other people were hitting first, onto me and just DPS'd in Bear form. We got some blue items that Yonezoe disenchanted into shards that we rolled for.

Daily's 6/22/08

I did some daily's today, I did the cooking and fishing on both Wranngar and Gomorra and I also did Gaining the Advantage on Wranngar and Sunfury Attack Plans, Ata'mal Armaments, Blast the Gateway and Blood for Blood on Gomorra. Yonezoe did those 4 with me and then logged onto Axeelina and did the daily cooking with Gomorra. The daily cooking today was Soup for the Soul again, I got the mats I needed from the guild vault for Wranngar, Gomorra and Axeelina and we headed over to the Ancestral Grounds (25,59) in Nagrand and cooked up our soup. When I turned that in to The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath I picked Crate of Meat as my reward on both, starting tomorrow I will be picking Barrel of Fish for the whole week. Wranngar got 8 pieces of Serpent Flesh, 8 pieces of Warped Flesh and a Large Hoof while Gomorra got 8 pieces of Warped Flesh, 8 pieces of Buzzard Meat and a Hunting Knife. Not much good in either of those rewards but I believe I have gotten all the recipes on both now so the meat and fish is really all I have to look forward to unless they have some seasonal recipes or add more. Then I headed over to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and got the daily fishing quest which was Felblood Fillet. I flew over to the Pools of Aggonar (39,37) in Hellfire Peninsula on Wranngar to catch my Monstrous Felblood Snapper and took Gomorra to Shadowmoon Valley (40,59) to catch his. I turned them in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures and Wranngar got 6g82s60c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and 2 pieces of Salvaged Scrap Metal. Gomorra got 7g17s94c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Razor Sharp Fillet Knife which I sold to a vendor for 4 gold and some silver. Not a great day for rewards today, better luck tomorrow.

Wranngar Epic Flight Form 6/21/08

I finally got my epic flight form on Wranngar last night. I was talking to a friend of mine, Beerchick, Champion of the Naaru, and I told him I was up to the part where I needed to do Heroic Sethekk Halls for the last part. He said lets go do it. I couldn't pass that up so we went in and got it :). They do a lot of raiding and know what they are doing so it was a pretty easy run compared to most instance runs I have been on. This was my first heroic instance and it went a lot smoother than a lot of normal instances I have done. It didn't take us long to get it done and I got a couple nice items I can use for raiding plus a few Badge of Justice. There were five us us running it, me on Wranngar, Beerchick on his Priest Beerboy, Champion of the Naaru who was healing, a Hunter Spoke who was crowd control, another Priest Thunderlily who was DPS, and another Druid, Ezrah, that was tanking. I was DPS too for this run. Beerchick was able to get 3 more people to help us from her guild no problem so there was no waiting to get a group together. Beerchick invited me and Yonezoe to join her guild and come raiding. I will talk to Yonezoe and see if she wants to come but I would really like to and I am pretty sure she will too. I am getting sick of doing only battlegrounds and would like to get some of the rewards that can be had from raiding. Plus it was a lot of fun with a good group who knows what they are doing.

Yonezoe 6/21/08

Yonezoe hit 70 today :), congratulations to her. We started in Netherstorm but were questing in Shadowmoon Valley when she hit it so she was able to get her 300 riding skill and epic flying mount right there. I was along on Wranngar. I am glad that is finally over. I am definitely going to take a long break before I start another character. Now that she is 70 we can go back to doing daily quests and making some gold along with raiding and battlegrounds so she can get some good gear.

Daily's 6/21/08

I did some of my daily's on both Wranngar and Gomorra today. I did the daily fishing which was Bait Bandits and the daily cooking which was Soup for the Soul on both as well as Gaining the Advantage and Sunfury Attack Plans on Wranngar. I got Sunfury Attack Plans done while I was helping Yonezoe in Netherstorm and did Gaining the Advantage while I was getting the meat I needed for the daily cooking. When I was done with Gaining the Advantage I flew over to the Ancestral Grounds (25,59) in Nagrand and cooked my Clefthoof Meat then made my soup on both toons. When I turned to The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath I picked Crate of Meat as my reward and Wranngar got 8 pieces of Clefthoof Meat, 7 pieces of Warped Flesh and a Skinning Knife. Nothing exciting there. Gomorra got 15 pieces of Serpent Flesh, an Unidentified Eye and Recipe: Stormchops, a nice blue recipe. The recipes are the main reason to do the daily cooking quest although the meat isn't bad either. I will have to check, I think I might have all the recipes on both now. For Bait Bandits I flew over to my spot at the bridge (52,37) outside Tuurem in Terokkar Forest and fished for the elusive Blackfin Darter. It was proving to be pretty elusive today, it took me 56 casts on Wranngar to catch one and 14 on Gomorra. After I caught one I flew back to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and turned it in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. Wranngar got 7g48s99c, 5 Sharpened Fish Hooks and 3 pieces of Salvaged Scrap Metal, whoohoo. Gomorra got 6g71s5c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Broken Spyglass which I sold to a vendor for 2 gold. Nothing too good there but I can't complain as I have gotten some pretty good stuff from the fishing quest. When I got back to Shattrath I turned in Gaining the Advantage and Sunfury Attack Plans for my rewards.

Netherstorm 6/20/08

We, Wranngar and Yonezoe, did some more questing in Netherstorm tonight. Yonezoe leveled up to 69 and she has about 18 more bars until 70. I gave her a Riding Crop I made to celebrate hitting 69. Some of the quests I was able to do and some I had already done when I was leveling Wranngar there. We really didn't have any problems until we got to Quest: Shutting Down Manaforge Ara then the sheer volume of mobs that come out overwhelmed us and we had to get some help. Yonezoe got a friend of hers, Yangkwen, Champion of the Naaru, to give us a hand. We didn't have too much problem after that although the shutdown did reset twice before we got it shut down. After that it was getting late so we called it a day. Hopefully she will be 70 by the end of the weekend.

Daily's 6/20/08

I did a few of my daily's on Wranngar this afternoon. I did the fishing which was The One That Got Away and the cooking which was Manalicious along with Gaining the Advantage and I got Sunfury Attack Plans done while I was helping Yonezoe in Netherstorm. For the fishing quest I flew out to my spot on Lake Sunspring (34,43) in Nagrand and set about catching the World's Largest Mudfish. I got one in a few casts then decided to get the extra 3 skill points I needed to max out my fishing skill at 375. Now Wranngar has 375 fishing which means all his primary and secondary skills are maxed :). While I was in Nagrand I got Gaining the Advantage done and picked up some good leather in the process. I got a lot of Thick Clefthoof Leather today which is nice because the last stack I put on the auction house got me 90 gold. I went back to Shattrath and turned in Gaining the Advantage for 16g39s and a Major Rejuvenation Potion. While I was there I cooked up the Clefthoof meat I got doing the quest and put it in the guild bank. Then I went over to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and turned in The One That Got Away for my Bag of Fishing Treasures which had 7g25s44c, Recipe: Captain Rumsey's Lager, 6 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Mithril Shaving Razor which I sold to a vendor for 11 gold. The recipe and other good rewards are the reason to do the daily fishing quest even though most days you don't really end up with anything good. After that I flew out to Stormspire in Netherstorm then headed over to the Eco-Dome to pick Mana Berries for the cooking quest. I got 15 in no time at all and headed over to help Yonezoe. While I was helping her I got Sunfury Attack Plans done, plus did a bunch of quests myself making close to 300 gold. After I had helped her for awhile I flew back to Shattrath and turned in Sunfury Attack Plans for 10g10s and Shattered Sun Supplies which contained a green item. Then I turned in the cooking quest and picked Crate of Meat for my reward. It contained 6 pieces of Serpent Flesh, 7 pieces of Buzzard Meat and a Large Hoof. I also got 7g59s for that quest. I will be going back out to Netherstorm and helping Yonezoe some more tonight.

Wranngar 6/19/08

I worked on Wranngar's fishing a little more tonight and got him up to 372, only 3 more to go :). I would have got the last 3 before I logged off but it was too late and I was too tired. Tomorrow I will get him to 375 and be done with it. I was fishing around Allerian Stronghold in Terokkar Forest and Umbrafen Lake in Zangarmarsh. I really love having the ability to track fish, I just fly around on my epic mount at 280% speed until I pick up a school of fish then fish it out. I got a lot of Golden Darter, Spotted Feltail, Zangarian Sporefish and a Huge Spotted Feltail which I cooked up, with the exception of the Huge Spotted Feltail, and put in the guild vault. I am waiting until I have 20 of the Huge Spotted Feltail before I cook them up. I also got 8 Motes of Water and a Goldenscale Vendorfish which sell for 6 gold to a vendor.

Battleground 6/19/08

I fought in 3 AV's on Wranngar tonight, 1 win and 2 losses. The first one I was in was a win and the next 2 were losses. In the win we rushed FWGY and quickly moved onto FWRH while some capped IBT and TP. After we had FWRH clocking we capped the East and West Frostwolf Towers and then went in and took out Drek, nice and smooth. In the second battle we were also doing pretty good, we had IBT and TP capped, we had IBGY and FWGY, although we lost FWGY and had to get it back, a usual occurrence but one that costs time. We had just capped West Frostwolf Tower and were waiting on East and FWRH to cap when the Horde killed Vann, we just ran out of time. The third battle was a turtle because people went for Galv at the start which resulted in a lot of the offense getting wiped out and sent back to Stormpike Graveyard to start over. Going for Galv first is an almost guaranteed loss and is not worth the 63 honor he gives. I keep telling people if they think his 63 honor is nice they should try winning some time. Even though we had no offense to speak of and everyone was at Dun Baldar we managed to get the Horde down to 50 resources before we lost. If people had put a little more effort into holding our bunkers I think we could have won it on kills. There were the usual 6-8 AFK in all 3 battles I was in, good job on that Blizzard.

Update: I went back in and did 2 more AV's, one win one loss. The first battle I was in we won but I'm not sure how. Most of our team was in Dun Baldar and I guess that helped some as they were able to hold the Horde off from killing Vann for quite awhile after they had the 4 bunkers capped. We didn't have many on offense but were able to finally work our way into Frostwolf Keep and cap the East and West Towers. We had the FWRH clocking when we went for Drek, I think everyone knew that we already had all the luck we were going to get as far as time was concerned. We managed to take down Drek and the Horde never touched Vann even though they had the 4 bunkers capped at for at least 5 miniutes. We had a lot more AFK in these 2 battles than we did in the previous 3, they don't even bother to come out of the cave, they just stay right where they spawn. Blizzard says they are doing something about the AFK but as hard as I look I just can't see it. In the second battle there were 10 people spamming 10 different plans at the start so basically everyone took off in 10 different directions and everything just fell apart. That battle didn't last too long but I managed to pick up 2037 honor from these battles and 259 kills.

Daily's 6/19/08

I only did a few daily's today, the fishing, cooking and Gaining the Advantage on Wranngar, and the fishing and cooking on Gomorra. Today's fishing quest was Shrimpin' Ain't Easy. I flew out to my spot at Umbrafen Lake (78,74) in Zangarmarsh on Wranngar and got all my Giant Freshwater Shrimp in no time, then I got on Gomorra and did it again, it went quick for him too. In the process Wranngar's fishing leveled up to 365, only 10 more to go :). After I had all my Shrimp I flew back to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and turned in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. Wranngar's had 7g41s7c, 3 Elixir of Water Walking, and a Piece of Polished Driftwood, nothing too exciting there. Gomorra got 6g59s89c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and 3 Motes of Water, nothing too good there either but I can use the motes to make Primal Mooncloth. Then I went to The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath and got the daily cooking which was Revenge is Tasty and headed to Skettis on Wranngar. It took me 9 kills to get the wing I needed on Wranngar but when I went back on Gomorra he got his on the second kill. I went back to Shattrath and turned in. I picked Crate of Meat on both and Wranngar's had 6 pieces of Serpent Flesh, 6 pieces of Talbuk Venison and a Torn Furry Ear, again nothing too good there but the meat comes in handy. Gomorra got 8 pieces of Serpent Flesh, 6 pieces of Buzzard Meat and an Unidentified Eye which I guess is used for flavor. No new recipes today. The each got the 7g59s this quest pays. Then I headed out to Nagrand on Wranngar to kill and skin some Clefthoof for Gaining the Advantage. The Nether Residue just wasn't dropping today, I had to kill between 25 and 30 Clefthoof before I got my 8, usually I get it in less than 15 kills. I turned that in and got the 16g39s and the Major Rejuvenation Potion this quest pays. I may go back later and do the Shattered Sun daily's but I am not sure.

Daily Battleground 6/18/08

The daily battleground today was Eye of the Storm. I did it on Wranngar and we won the first one I was in. It's been awhile since I have been in a battleground and it felt good to be back :). We started off with MT and DR like we always do and also made a pretty good push for FRR but were greatly outnumbered and couldn't quite get it, the Horde got BET right from the start. We got the flag a couple times then the Horde decided to move into the middle and hold that, that was when we took FRR and held it for the rest of the battle. When we took that the Horde moved from the middle and took MT so we still only controlled 2 towers. With the Horde out of the middle we got and ran the flag a couple times and then took BET. The Horde sent most of their team to take DR and we moved in and took MT back. We held BET, FRR and MT for the rest of the battle and ran the flag a couple more times for the win. It wasn't really even close and we beat them by more than 600 points. This daily pays 11g99s, 419 honor and 3 Eye of the Storm Mark of Honor which were mailed to me as I have 100 in the bank already and can't hold any more.

Daily's 6/18/08

I did all my Shattered Sun daily's on Wranngar, as well as the daily cooking, which was Super Hot Stew again and Gaining the Advantage which pays 16g39s and a Major Rejuvenation Potion. I did the daily fishing which was Crocolisks in the City on both Wranngar and Gomorra. I grabbed two Mok'Nathal Shortribs and one Crunchy Serpent out of the guild bank and headed over to Forge Camp Terror in Blades Edge on Wranngar to cook up my Demon Broiled Surprise over an Elemental I killed. Once I had that done I flew back to Shattrath and handed it in to The Rokk (61,15). I picked Crate of Meat for my reward and got 12 pieces of Serpent Flesh and a pair of Patchwork Gloves plus the 7g59s this quest pays. Then I headed to Stormwind to catch a Baby Crocolisk for the daily fishing quest. I got one on my second cast on Wranngar and my seventh cast on Gomorra. I went back to Shattrath and flew over to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and turned in. Wranngar got, in his Bag of Fishing Treasures, 7g6s79c, 3 Elixir of Water Walking and 3 Jaggal Pearls. Gomorra got 6g82s38c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Rusted Lock. As you can see nothing great in either of those. I did the Shattered Sun Daily's with Heimdahl and we were able to get those out of the way in no time at all. I ended up sending 150 gold to the bank today, not too bad. I am going to get back into doing my daily's more often now that Yonezoe will be 70 soon. Update: I went back a little later and did the daily cooking quest on Gomorra I grabbed a piece of Crunchy Serpent and a Mok'Nathal Shortrib and headed over to Forge Camp Terror (29,78) in Blades Edge. After I got there and killed an Elemental I realized I only grabbed one Mok'Nathal Shortrib instead of two so I had to fly over and kill a couple Raptors to get another one. Once I had that I cooked it up and flew back to Forge Camp Terror and killed another Elemental then I was able to make my Demon Broiled Surprise. I flew back to The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath and picked Crate of Meat for my reward. I got 16 pieces of Serpent Flesh, which I cooked into Crunchy Serpent and put in the Guild Vault because we were getting low, a Hunting Knife and the 7g39s this daily pays. Nothing exciting there today.
