Battlegrounds 7/6/08

I fought in a couple different battlegrounds on Wranngar today. The daily battleground was Arathi Basin and we won the first one I was in. We had a good group that could follow a simple plan which was get ST, GM, BS and LM then move on to the Farm in a group pushing the Horde back the whole time. We got ST, GM, BS and the LM without and problem but the Farm took a little bit of time but we did get it for the 5 cap. When you have 5 nodes capped the resources rack up pretty quick. It took us less than 5 minutes total to win this one 2000/140. For this daily I got 11g99s, 419 honor and 3 Arathi Basin Mark of Honor.

The other battleground I fought in was Alterac Valley. I was in 2 battles, one win and one loss. In the first battle which was our win we had a good group that worked together. The plan was to go to FWGY and take that then move forward and back to get FWRH, the East and West Towers, IBT and TP. We did that and also ended up getting SHGY, SFGY, IBGY and Galv. When we got to IBGY the Horde were waiting for us but we just ran right over them. The Horde had nothing, not one graveyard, not one node capped. Usually holding SHGY is a really bad move but we had a really good group and there was nothing the Horde could do. We could have beat them on resources but we also killed Drek for the extra honor. This was a high honor battle. The second battle we didn't do as well, we had a lot of AFK and you could tell right from that start that it was a different group and the quality of players was just not there. The AFK problem is really bad and they just ruin it for everyone else. People were not working together, nobody followed the plan and everyone stopped at IBGY to fight the Horde instead of moving on to FWGY or FWRH and it just fell apart from there. We had SFGY and a lot of people wasted a lot of time trying to get SHGY which is pretty much useless to us and keeps the Horde from rezzing in front of us when they have it. By the end of the battle we had IBGY capping, IBT capped, Galv dead and were in the process of capping TP when the Horde killed Vann.

Daily's 7/6/08

I only did a few of my daily's today, maybe I will do more later when I log back on. I did the fishing which was Bait Bandits on both Wranngar and Gomorra. I also did Gaining the Advantage, The Multiphase Survey and the daily cooking which was Super Hot Stew on Wranngar.

Gaining the Advantage I did on Razorthorn Trail killing Ravagers. I am finding a better drop rate off them lately compared to the Clefthoof. Granted I don't get any Thick Clefthoof Leather off them but I do get a lot of Knothide Leather Scraps and Knothide Leather plus Ravager Meat. It didn't take me too long to get my 8 Nether Residue. From there I headed over to Nagrand and did The Multiphase Survey. It is really easy and goes fast in swift flight form. I had that done in a couple minutes.

The daily cooking had me heading over to Forge Camp Terror in Blades Edge Mountains to kill an elemental to cook my stew over. I took the mats I needed out of the guild bank as there are so many in there it is not worthwhile to go and kill Wind Serpents and Raptors for them. I killed an elemental and cooked up my Demon Broiled Surprise then headed back to The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath to turn in. I picked Crate of Meat for my reward and got 8 Chunks o' Basilisk, 7 pieces of Buzzard Meat and 2 Large Fangs as well as the 7g59s this quest pays. Again I didn't do this one on Gomorra as it is really not worth the time it takes to fly out there compared to the reward you get.

The daily fishing had me heading over to my favorite spot at the waterfall (51,38) by Tuurem. I got my Blackfin Darter on the second cast on both Wranngar and Gomorra and headed back to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest to turn it in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. Wranngar got 6g66s25c, 2 Elixirs of Water Walking and a Broken Spyglass which I sold to a vendor for 2 gold. Gomorra got 6g78s61c, 6 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Giant Shark Tooth. Nothing too good there today but I will keep plugging along on this one. The rewards have been poor for awhile so it can only get better :).

I will definitely go back later and do some battlegrounds and maybe the daily quests in Shattered Sun.

Battlegrounds 7/5/08

I am not sure what the daily battleground was today but I still had the daily for Alterac Valley in my quest log from the other day so I did that one. Even though the Alliance does poorly in AV a lot of the time it is still my favorite battleground. We were doing good today though, I fought in 5 battles on Wranngar, 4 wins and one loss. We won the first one I was in so I was able to get my daily out of the way straight off. After that I was fighting for fun, honor and kills. I broke the 40,000 lifetime kill mark a few days ago. The first battle we were in was pretty organized, we headed to FWGY and got that then moved forward and backward getting FWRH, IBT and TP. We then got the East and West Frostwolf Towers and took down Drek. Galv got taken out somewhere in there too so we got maximum honor for that win. Our other 3 wins followed pretty much the same plan and we won with good honor. I still need some more honor to upgrade some of my gear to the new stuff that became available for honor. In the battle we lost we just didn't have any teamwork going on. We had a lot of AFK in all the battles I was in, it is a real problem that Blizzard says it is working on but I can't see it when I see the same people in there AFK day after day, week after week. Anyway in the loss people went for Galv first then everyone stopped at IBGY to fight the Horde there. When the Horde are really defending IBGY you do not stop to fight them, you go past them to FWGY and take that then more into Frostwolf and get the Relief Hut and Towers. It really didn't look like these people had any idea what they were doing and I thought I had gotten out of the good time frame (I got into the battleground at 5AM ST) but then we won the next one easily. We had a lot of people in DB but when the Horde moved in it turned out they were all AFK and just got relocated to SFGY when they were killed. The Horde killed Vann on that one. We killed Drek in all of our wins which is how it should be because you get a lot of honor from killing him.

Daily's 7/5/08

I never got back on last night to do the daily fishing on Gomorra which is too bad, I really need to do it every day if I am going to have a chance to get The 2 Ring.

I did the daily fishing which was The One That Got Away on both Wranngar and Gomorra today along with the daily cooking which was Soup for the Soul on both plus Gaining the Advantage and The Multiphase Survey on Wranngar. I killed Clefthoof in Nagrand for Gaining the Advanatge and also got the meat I needed for the daily cooking out of that. I did The Multiphase Survey too while I was there.

The daily fishing had me heading out to Lake Sunspring (34,43) in Nagrand in search of the World's Largest Mudfish. I got one in 17 casts on Wranngar and 21 casts on Gomorra. Took quite a few casts on both but I'm not complaining as you catch some good fish there. When I turned those in to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest for my Bag of Fishing Treasures Wranngar got 6g80s27c, 2 Elixirs of Water Walking and a Noble's Monocle which I sold to a vendor for 11 gold. Gomorra got 7g21s34c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Beautiful Glass Eye that had the initials C.S. on the back. I sold that to a vendor for 18 gold. Not great rewards today but I will keep doing it as there are still a lot of good rewards to be had. The 2 Ring sells for around 2800 gold on the auction house and I will definitely sell that when I get it.

I did the daily cooking while I was in Nagrand doing the other quests. I had gotten the meat I needed for both on Wranngar while I was doing Gaining the Advantage. I just flew over to the Ancestral Grounds (25,59) and cooked my Spiritual Soup then headed back to The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath and turned it in for my reward. On top of the 7g59s this quest pays they each picked Crate of Meat for their reward and Wranngar got 7 pieces of Serpent Flesh, 8 Chunks o' Basilisk and 2 Large Fangs. Gomorra got 7 pieces of Clefthoof Meat, 8 pieces of Buzzard Meat and a pair of Patchwork Gloves. I cooked up all the meat and put it in the guild bank for anyone who needs it.

Daily's 7/4/08

I did all my Shattered Sun daily's on Wranngar along with Gaining the Advantage, The Multiphase Survey, the daily fishing which was Bait Bandits and the daily cooking which was Super Hot Stew. The Shattered Sun daily's went pretty quick today. Everything was dropping good. There weren't many people around either which helps as you don't have to wait for mobs to respawn. I made about 120 gold off them after repairs.

I did Gaining the Advantage in Nagrand killing Clefthoof and skinning them for Nether Residue. It didn't take me too long to get all of them but I have had it go faster. From there I headed over and did The Multiphase Survey. This is a really easy quest for a Druid with Epic Flight Form. I just shift into flight form and move from one gas cloud to the next taking my readings, I am done in no time.

The daily cooking had me heading over to Forge Camp Terror in Blades Edge. I got the mats I needed out of the guild bank so all I had to do was fly over there, kill an elemental and cook up my Demon Broiled Surprise. That didn't take long and when I turned it back in to The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath my Crate of Meat had 5 Raptor Ribs, 8 Chunks o' Basilisk and 2 Large Fangs plus the 7g59s this quest pays. I didn't bother to do this one on Gomorra as the travel time compared to the reward is not worth it.

For the daily fishing I headed over to my spot by Tuurem at the waterfall (51,38) and got my Blackfin Darter in 11 casts. That didn't take too long, sometimes it takes forever to catch one of these and other days you get it on the first cast. When I turned that in to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest for my Bag of Fishing Treasures I got 7g5s85c, 2 Elixirs of Water Walking and a Razor Sharp Fillet Knife. Nothing great there today but there are still a lot of good rewards to get from the fishing quest. I will do it later on Gomorra.

Daily's 7/3/08

I did all my Shattered Sun Daily's on Wranngar along with Gaining the Advantage, the daily cooking which was Manalicious, Sunfury Attack Plans and the daily fishing, Shrimpin' Ain't Easy, which I also did on Gomorra. The Shattered Sun daily's didn't take me long at all and I made about 118 gold after repairs.

The daily cooking had me heading out to Eco-Dome Midrealm to pick Mana Berries. This is a really easy quest, all you have to do is go around and pick berries off bushes. Takes no time at all and you get some good meat or fish for a reward along with the 7g59s this quest pays. I only did this on Wranngar today and I picked Crate of Meat for my reward when I turned it in to The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath. I got 5 Warped Flesh, 8 pieces of Clefthoof Meat and a Torn Furry Ear. I hope they come out with some new recipes soon, I have all of them on both toons now and while the meat is good, some of the quests, like flying all the way out to Netherstorm for this one, are a little time consuming for the rewards.

I did Sunfury Attack Plans on my way out to Eco-Dome Midrealm to do the cooking quest. This is also a quick easy quest and I got the plans on my 5th kill. I did Gaining the Advantage over on Razorthorn Trail. I killed and skinned Ravagers for the Mana Remnants and also got some good leather and ravager meat to cook up.

The fishing quest sent me to Zangarmarsh where I went to my spot (78,74) on Umbrafen Lake. I got the 10 Giant Freshwater Shrimp I needed on each in no time. I headed back to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and turned them in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. Wranngar got 6g76s21c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Razor Sharp Fillet Knife. Gomorra got 7g44s63c, 3 Elixirs of Water Walking and a Shadow Pearl. Not great rewards but good enough for this easy quest.

The daily battleground today is Alterac Valley. I fought in 2 battles, both losses. I will go back in later and see if I have any better luck.

Battlegrounds 7/2/08

I only fought in one AV tonight, it was a loss. I was on Wranngar. There were a lot of AFK which hurt in every battleground but the people that were fighting clearly had no clue what they were doing. The first mistake they made was going for Galv first. That in itself is an almost guaranteed loss unless you have a really good group, this wasn't a really good group. They Horde put up a major wall of defense at IBGY and nobody rode past it, everyone that wasn't killing Galv stopped there to fight, that was the second mistake. When the Horde are really defending IBGY you need to ride past them and go for FWGY. I was trying to hold IBT with 4 other people but 3 of them left before it capped and we were overrun by about half a dozen Horde. Pretty much everybody ended up back at DB. After that nobody seemed to have any direction, there was no teamwork, some people were just hanging around in DB while others were trying to take SHGY which doesn't make any sense as SHGY is useless to us, it is just another place to turtle. With more than half the Horde at IBGY they were still able to easily take over DB with 3/4 of the Alliance, including all the AFK, there. We never really got any farther than IBGY. I have a really sad feeling it is going to be like this all summer. There are certain time slots that are better than others, I assume it's when the kids are sleeping, and you just have to find them. I will try fighting in there at different times and see if I can find out when that time is.

Daily's 7/2/08

I got all my Shattered Sun daily's done on Wranngar today and also did Gaining the Advantage. The Shattered Sun daily's didn't take me long, there were not many people around so I was able to get through them pretty quick. For Gaining the Advantage I went to Razorthorn Trail on the road between Terokkar Forest and Hellfire Peninsula and killed Ravagers for skinning. That didn't take long at all, the Mana Remnants we dropping pretty good, around 50%, and I got some Ravager meat out of it too. I made about 115 gold doing the Shattered Sun daily's after repairs and Gaining the Advantage pays 16g39s and a Major Rejuvenation Potion.

I did the daily fishing on both Wranngar and Gomorra today. It was Felblood Fillet. For that I headed over to Shadowmoon Valley to my spot (40,59) by Wildhammer Stronghold. I got one in 4 casts on Wranngar and the first cast on Gomorra. When I turned that in to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest for my Bag of Fishing Treasures Gomorra got 7g4s81c, 6 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Giant Shark Tooth. Wranngar got 6g66s13c, 3 Elixirs of Water Walking and 3 pieces of Salvaged Scrap Metal. Nothing to exciting for either of them today but I am still looking forward to the good rewards.

The daily cooking today was Revenge is Tasty. I picked that up from The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath and headed over to Skettis to kill a Monstrous Kaliri. I got the wing I needed on the first kill with Wranngar and the second kill on Gomorra. When I turned that in I picked Crate of Meat for my reward and got, on Wranngar, 12 pieces of Warped Flesh and a pair of Patchwork Gloves. Gomorra got 13 Chunks o' Basilisk and a pair of Patchwork Gloves. Nothing too exciting there but the meat will come in handy. They also got the 7g59s this quest pays.

Daily's 7/1/08

I did all my Shattered Sun daily's on Wranngar today. I did them with Yonezoe, we got them out of the way pretty quick. After that we did an AB which was the daily but we lost that. I guess this is how it is going to be for the summer while school is out so I will probably do more instances. I didn't bother going back in for another AB, that's how bad it was. I thought me and Yonezoe were going to do the Outlands daily's too but she ended up taking off and starting them on her own, as she tends to do too often, while I was getting an inscription on my new shoulders so I did an AV instead. We lost that AV, there were over 10 AFK and the rest of the group definitely weren't up to speed. The only good thing about that is it didn't last long.

I took the mats I needed out of the guild bank, which is just about overflowing with food, and headed over to Forge Camp Terror to kill an Elemental. After I was done cooking that up I turned it in to The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath for the usual rewards, nothing exciting there either.

Daily's 6/30/08

I did the daily cooking which was Manalicious on both Wranngar and Gomorra and the daily fishing which was Felblood Fillet on both along with Sunfury Attack Plans on both. I did Gaining the Advantage and the daily battleground which was Alterac Valley on Wranngar. For the fishing I flew over to the Pools of Aggonar (39,37) in Hellfire Peninsula and got my Monstrous Felblood Snapper in about 20 casts on each, took awhile today. From there I flew over to Sunfury Hold and did Sunfury Attack Plans then off to Eco-Dome Midrealm to pick Mana Berries. I went back and turned the cooking in to The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath and picked Crate of Meat for my reward. I got 7 Raptor Ribs, 6 pieces of Buzzard Meat and a Skinning Knife on Wranngar and 14 pieces of Clefthoof Meat and a Torn Furry Ear on Gomorra. I'm not throwing that into the pot. I also got the 7g59s this quest pays. Then I flew over to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and turned in the fishing for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. I got 7g34s84c, Spun Truesilver Fishing Line again which is not stackable and is BoP so it does me no good though I will hang onto it in case I get a better fishing pole, 5 Sharpened Fish Hooks and 3 Motes of Water on Wranngar. Gomorra got 7g4s87c, 5 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Rusted Lock. Nothing too exciting for either of them. After that I turned in Sunfury Attack Plans and got 10g10s and a Shattered Sun Supplies on each. I almost forgot that I did The Multiphase Survey and Ata'mal Armaments on Wranngar too. I got 10g10s for The Multiphase Survey and 18g28s for Ata'mal Armaments plus Righteous Weapon Coating.

I only did one AV today for my daily, we won the first one I was in but it was close. We were on Drek just a little before the Horde got on Vann but we managed to take him down before they could kill Vann. We rushed FWGY then moved on to FWRH and the Towers while some went back and got IBT and TP. We also had IBGY which helped and even got Galv for extra honor. I got the 11g99s this quest pays plus 419 honor and 3 Alterac Valley Mark of Honor which I am maxed out on again anyway.

Battlegrounds 6/29/08

The daily battleground today was WSG so I skipped it, I hate WSG, I think it is a waste of time for the amount of honor you get from it so I only do it when I need the marks. Instead I fought in 1 AV and 3 Eye of the Storm on Wranngar, all losses :(. The Alliance just didn't have it together today. In the AV I was in they held SHGY right from the start, we also had SFGY so the Horde didn't have a forward GY to rez at which kept them right in front of us, we couldn't advance. I don't know what it is about SHGY and Galv but they have cost us more battles. Basically they held SHGY but left Dun Baldar wide open which seems to be standard procedure when you get a group that doesn't know any better about holding SHGY. Long story short, and it was a long honorless battle, We ended up losing when the Horde killed Vann. We had just got to Drek and people were saying to rush him while we still had 3 towers up... Great plan, rush him while he has 3 Warmasters with him and he's at 175% health. Then I went into EoS where we didn't fare any better. People seemed more interested in the flag than they did in getting nodes to the point where someone grabbed the flag when we didn't even have a node to bring it to... At least that can be written off to it being EoS holiday weekend and all the weekend warriors and AFKers were out in force. Hopefully it will get better next week but school is getting out so I am not sure it will. To check which holiday weekend it is and see whatever else is going on check out the Events Calendar.

Daily's 6/29/08

I did a few of my daily's on both Wranngar and Gomorra today. I did the daily fishing which was Bait Bandits and the daily cooking which was Soup for the Soul on both and also did Gaining the Advantage on Wranngar. For the daily fishing I flew over to my spot by Tuurem (52,37) in Terokkar Forest but went a few hundred feet South to the waterfall and fished there today. The Blackfin Darter for this quest are getting harder and harder to catch, I had about the same luck over there as I usually do, over a dozen casts to get one. When I had one I flew back to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and turned it in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. Wranngar got 7g16s40c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Piece of Polished Driftwood. Gomorra got 7g23s30c, 2 Elixirs of Water Walking and a Razor Sharp Fillet Knife. Nothing exciting there today. After that I headed to Nagrand to kill and skin some Clefthoof for Gaining the Advantage. I got the meat I needed for the daily cooking while I was doing that. Once I was done with Gaining the Advantage I flew over to the Ancestral Grounds (25,59) in Nagrand and cooked up my soup. Then I did it again on Gomorra. I went back and turned that in to The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath and picked Barrel of Fish for my reward. Gomorra got 6 Golden Darter, 5 Figluster's Mudfish and 2 Bright Baubles while Wranngar got 6 Figluster's Mudfish, 5 Golden Darter, 2 Huge Spotted Feltail and a Fishbone Toothpick. Nothing too exciting there either but I cooked up all the fish and put it in the guild bank for whoever needs it. They also both got 7g59s for this daily and Wranngar got 16g39s plus a Major Rejuvenation Potion for turning in Gaining the Advantage.

Dreadsteed 6/28/08

I went into Dire Maul West, an instance in Feralas, and helped someone get their Dreadsteed tonight. It was one of the fastest runs I ever did in there, we were going flat out start to finish. It went pretty smooth considering how fast we were moving. There were 4 level 70 Warlocks, all Demon Spec'd, and a level 66 Rogue. There was me on my Demon Lock, Gomorra, Apothiss a 66 Rogue, Wraithguard a 70 Demon Lock, Riantria a 70 Demon Lock and Zeuswarlord another Demon Lock. We went in there to get Zeuswarlord his Dreadsteed. We went in and took out the 5 pylons to drop the shield around Immol'thar, then we killed him and set up the circle. All the Locks had mats so we were all able to help keep the 3 elements going while helping to fight all the demons that come into the circle, and there are a lot of them. It seems like it goes on for hours but it can't be any more than 10 minutes, I am not sure, I have never timed it. Having the Felguards to help makes a big difference. I remember the first two times I went in to summon the Dreadsteed, the first time for myself and the second time for someone else we wiped at the end trying to set up the circle due to the sheer volume of demons that come out to try and stop you. It does seem like it gets easier each time I do it though. Once we had the portal complete we got patched up and then summoned the Dreadsteed. While you are fighting the Dreadsteed (You have to kill it when it comes through) a Dreadguard (The Dreadsteeds Master) also comes through and you have to kill him too. Once we had the Dreadsteed down all Zeuswarlord had to do was talk to it and get the button to summon his Epic Dreadsteed Mount. All in all a pretty easy run. I will have to go out tomorrow and get some more Soul Shards to replenish my supply, I like to have at least 28 on hand at all times, being a Warlock I use them for everything.
