Isle of Conquest - Daily Battleground 11/11/09

When I grabbed my daily battleground on Wranngar today it was Isle of Conquest. I have done this one a half dozen times now and have a pretty good grasp of the routine. We lost the first one I was in, we had a lot of AFK in that one. The second one I was in went a lot better, I think we only had 3 AFK and the rest of the team seemed to know what they were doing. We ended up killing their General for the win. It was a close battle though, the Horde were in our keep attacking our General when we killed theirs. Anyway that got my daily done and I handed it in for 19g86s and 1241 bonus honor.

I fought in 4 Alterac Valleys after that, 2 wins and 2 losses. The first 3 battles were pretty good, we were pretty even right up to the end. The 4th battle was a turtle on our part which we, of course, lost. We killed Drek in the 2 battles we won and the Horde killed Vann in one of the battles we lost and won the other one on reinforcements. The Horde win a lot of their battles on reinforcements because AV is set up to their advantage when it comes to reinforcements. As usual we had a lot of AFK in all 4 of the battles I was in. At least now it looks like Blizzard removes the AFK from the battleground after they are AFK for a certain amount of time making way for someone who could be fighting. But sometimes the person that comes in just stays in the cave and goes AFK, it is a losing battle and one Blizzard has failed horribly to correct. A lot of people have been asking about the TuringTest AFK Reporter when I announce the AFK and want to know where to get it. Only 5 people having it in each battle would take care of the AFK problem.

I fought in 3 Eye of the Storm tonight too. 2 wins and 1 loss. For a change the loss didn't seem to be Flagtard related, we were just outclassed. In one of the two wins I got into a mostly pre-made, 13 of the 15 were a pre-made. Needless to say we won that one easily with a 4 cap. I did notice in the one we lost that only me and one other person went to FRR. There were only 4 people there and one more person with us would have been able to take it. We did have 5 people at MT and another 4 or 5 at DR which is a waste at the beginning of the battle as the Horde are usually trying to cap BET and FRR. Usually if they are going to try and cap something on our side at the start it will be DR so that is where a couple extra people would be helpful. Rarely do they come for MT. All in all, even with the one loss, it was a pretty good night for the Alliance in the EoS battles I was in.

Convention at the Legerdemain and Dangerously Delicious 11/11/09

I got on Wranngar a little late tonight and grabbed my daily's. Today I got Convention at the Legerdemain, again, and Dangerously Delicious. At least the daily fishing was different, the cooking I have done the last 4 times in a row.

I got the cooking out of the way first, I could do it in my sleep now... I went to the bank and got 4 pieces of Chilled Meat, then ran outside and started a fire to cook up my Northern Stew. Once I had that headed over to One More Glass, the wine and cheese shop, and got my Jug of Wine, upstairs this time. I took those over to Arille Azuregaze, the bartender at The Legerdemain and exchanged them for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 5 Northern Spices in it. Not a bad haul today.

I was off to Wintergrasp after that to get my daily fishing out of the way. I took the flightpath to Fordragon Hold then flew east and a little bit south to my spot at the very southern end of Wintergrasp and got my 10 Terrorfish in 32 casts. I flew back to Fordragon Hold and took the flight path back to see Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran. I turned in my Terrorfish to her and she gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures with 10g61s90c, a Glow Worm, 4 Deviate Fish and a Whale Statue which I sold to a vendor for 11 gold. Not a bad haul on this one either with the statue.

918,239 Lifetime Kills

Check out this guy, Fartzwrgoben, a level 80 Dwarf Rogue, on the Perenolde server, with 918,239 PvP kills. I wonder if Blizzard has an achievement for 1 million kills.

Alterac Valley and Eye of the Storm 11/10/09

I fought in a bunch of battlegrounds on Wranngar tonight. I fought in 12 Alterac Valley, 6 wins and 6 losses, and 4 Eye of the Storm, 1 win and 3 losses.

AV was my daily battleground again today, way to give some variety Blizz..... We won the second one I was in. I tanked Drek in the battle we won for my daily. When I ran into Frostwolf Keep and saw they were attacking Drek without a tank, or the tank had just died, I grabbed him. I don't really have the gear for tanking but I have no problem holding his attention once I get it, so I can do it if I have decent heals. I didn't know if there were any heals left alive or not but I caught his attention and lured him to the back of the room. There was someone healing me, they did a good job of keeping me alive, and I was able to hang onto him until we took him down. That got my daily out of the way. I have always liked AV as long as the people aren't too stupid and for the most part we had good groups today. The ones we lost were pretty close usually and we only had 2 where people held SHGY, keeping all the Horde rezzing in front of us. We did have one rare win while holding SHGY, we won that one on reinforcements.

When we start AV we are usually outnumbered by at least 10, sometimes as much as 20. It is a rare occasion when we start 40x40. Today was no exception. The thing that really hurts on top of that is when 10 or more people never even leave the cave. I am talking about the AFK losers. One of those, Mattchuck from Forstwolf, was AFK in every battle I was in. He was AFK in 12 battles. Now according to Blizzard people that are continuously AFK receive suspensions and can even be banned from the battlegrounds, but I see the same people in there, day after day, AFK. I always have, this is nothing new. This loser is a good example, if you look at his gear you can see this loser spends a lot of time being AFK in the battlegrounds, he is all geared in epic PVP gear. Good job Blizzard.....

Eye of the Storm was just a waste of my time. One battle we had a good group and the other 3 we had mostly Flagtards. One of the battles we lost we started out doing pretty good, people actually went for towers and we got 3, MT, FRR and DR. Then 3/4 of the team went Flagtard and it was all over. We were actually rezzing on the rock and still had over half a dozen people in the middle trying to get the flag.... There are certain times when EoS is a good battleground to fight in, tonight when I was in there was not one of those times. It seems like earlier in the day, my time, is the best time to get in there and fight. That must be when all the Flagtards are nappy. We had one good battle where people concentrated on the towers, which are what actually what win the battle, and we had a 4 cap going by the end of it.

Later: I logged back on and did a couple more AV's. We had one win and one loss. Even the loss was really close though, we had Drek down over 75% when the Horde killed Vann, it was just a matter of running out of time. Another 10-15 seconds and we would have had him. That was the first battle. The second battle we won. I didn't think we would because the only GY the Horde had was SHGY and then someone took that which had them rezzing in their cave. I figured they would all come swarming into Frostwolf Keep and wipe us out while we were taking Drek but we got him down first :).

Convention at the Legerdemain and Blood is Thicker 11/10/09

I got on Wranngar and grabbed my daily's. Today they were Convention at the Legerdemain again and Blood Is Thicker again. One thing about Blizzard, they know how to give you some variety to keep you from getting bored..... Maybe that's one of the reasons why they have lost over 1 million players. That, lack of security and piss-poor response time on tickets, I have had an open ticket now for over 24 hours.

I did the daily cooking first, I ran to the bank, grabbed 4 Chilled Meat and made my Northern Stew. Then I headed over to One More Glass, the wine and cheese shop in Dalaran for a Jug of Wine. I found the wine behind the counter as soon as I walked in, that speeded things up a little. I ran over to see Arille Azuregaze, the bartender at The Legerdemain to turn it in and get my 9g93s, Dalaran Cooking Award and Small Spice Bag. Today my Small Spice Bag had 4 Northern Spices and 3 Baby Spice in it, an Ok haul I guess.

I was off to Un'upe to do some fishing after that. I took the flight path out of Dalaran and then flew out to the icebergs. I actually made a half dozen casts before I remembered I was doing Blood is Thicker and not Monsterbelly Appetite. I flew back to shore and flew inland to find a Marsh Caribou to kill. That covered me with blood so I flew back to the shore and jumped in to wash it off and create a blood pool. I fished in the blood pool until I had my 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy then headed back to Dalaran. I handed them in to Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in exchange for a Bag of Fishing Treasures which had 6g4s37c, a Glow Worm and 5 Solid Gold Coins in it. Not the best return on this one today.

Daily Battleground - Alterac Valley 11/9/09

I did some battlegrounds on Wranngar today. I did 4 Alterac Valley, 2 wins and 2 losses. After that I fought in 6 Eye of the Storm battles, 2 losses and 4 wins, we were doing a little better in there today. When I grabbed the daily it was AV so I was back in there. We won that one so I got my daily done.

The first AV I was in we won it easily, we got the towers, IBT, TP, EFWT, WFWT, Galv, IBGY, FWGY, the aid station and then killed Drek, it went pretty smooth. I joined right up again to get back into the same group but no such luck. The next battle I was in someone decided it would be a good idea to take and hold SHGY, that had all the Horde rezzing in front of us, and that cost us the battle as is always does. The 3rd battle was lost because of stupidity and AFK. Both were running rampant in that one. Most everyone was at Dun Baldar which was doing us no good at all, and even though most everyone was there the Horde were still capping bunkers and the relief station..... I dreaded doing AV as my daily but got in with a fairly decent group. We had a little trouble getting IBT and TP but eventually did. We would have won it on reinforcements but ended up getting enough people at Drek to take him down. There were a lot of people AFK in all the AV battles I was in. In the last one, my daily, there were 4 or 5 AFK at Drek. They figure if they make it all the way to Drek no one will report them AFK. The TuringTest AFK Reporter doesn't fall for that trick though and reports them anyway. I make sure to announce all the AFK to the battleground every 5 minutes or so and give people the opportunity to mark them AFK.

In Eye of the Storm we did really good on the ones we won and really bad on the ones we lost. For the most part we had a 3 or 4 cap going on the ones we won, we were all over the Horde. In the ones we lost we lost due to Flagtards. It makes me want to puke when there are 10 or more people at the flag and we don't even have a tower..... Then they get the flag and say "quick, someone get a tower". These are the same stupid people making the same stupid mistakes over and over again. Fortunately there were only 2 battles like that so I figure nap time must have come around as they were at the start. There were a lot of AFK in EoS today too, they are everywhere.

Later: I got back on Wrann and did some more battlegrounds. I fought in one more AV, a loss, One Isle of Conquest, a loss, and 10 Eye of the Storm, 7 wins and 3 losses.

The AV I fought in I got in late, it was already in progress and it was in sad shape. The only thing we had was SHGY and they were hanging onto that for dear life. They were concentrating on that to the point that the Horde were capping our bunkers, GY and Aid Station in Dun Baldar with no resistance. It is really sad that after all this time people still don't know how to play AV. It is even sadder still that the same stupid people will make the same stupid mistake of taking and holding SHGY in battle after battle.....

I got in late in the IoC battle too, I was only in it for about a minute and a half before it was over, the Horde had everything, including our keep, and we had nothing. There were 9 AFK in the IoC battle I was in, 1/4 of our team. Nap time was definitely over.

We did better in EoS for awhile but you could see when nap time got over, we went from owning to getting owned. We had 6 wins in a row, 3 and 4 caps, running the flag, keeping the Horde on their rock. Then we lost one, it was the beginning of the end. We went from owning to 3/4 of our team at the flag. Then we won another one, barely, I think it was the leftovers before we got flooded by the nappers, then we lost 2 in a row. And I mean LOST. In the last one I was in we were losing DR but we still had 7 people at the flag and then we got it, but by that time we had lost DR and had no where to take it..... Those are the flagtards, all they can see is the flag, they can't think, they can't reason, they can't be reasoned with, all they know is there is a flag there and they have to get it. Towards the very end of the last battle I was in one of the flagtards actually said, while we had one tower and were 900+ points behind, "Don't worry about the towers, it's all the flag now"...

All in all I did have a pretty good run today during nap time. I got a lot of kills and a lot of honor, not that I have anything to spend the honor on, I'm in it for the kills.

Blood is Thicker and Convention at the Legerdemain 11/9/09

I got on Wranngar and got my daily's done between battlegrounds. The daily cooking today was Convention at the Legerdemain and the fishing was Blood Is Thicker, a couple real easy, quick ones. I did a few battlegrounds yesterday and I think I'm hooked again.

I did the cooking first as usual. I ran to the bank and grabbed 4 Chilled Meat, to make my Northern Stew, then I was off to One More Glass, the wine and cheese shop in Dalaran for a Jug of Wine. I found the wine upstairs today. I headed over to see Arille Azuregaze, the bartender at The Legerdemain after that. He gave me 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag for the stew and wine. Today my Small Spice Bag had 5 Northern Spices, 3 Baby Spice and another Dalaran Cooking Award in it. Not a bad haul for this one today.

I did the fishing after that. I took the flight path to Un'upe then flew half way out to the icebergs before I remembered I was doing Blood is Thicker today. I turned around and flew inland until I found a Marsh Caribou to kill. Killing that got me covered in blood so I flew back to the shore and jumped in to wash it off and create a Blood Pool. I fished the Blood Pool until I had 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy, then headed back to see Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran. I gave her the 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy and she gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures. Today my Bag of Fishing Treasures had 10g99s95c, a Glow Worm, a Diamond-tipped Cane and 2 Runic Mana Potions in it. Not the best haul today but I have had worse. I will keep plugging away because I know there are still some good stuff to be had from this daily, like the Jeweled Fishing Pole. I wouldn't use it, it is definitely a chick pole but I want it to add to my collection.

Back to the battlegrounds.

Battlegrounds 11/08/09

I did some battlegrounds on Wranngar today. It didn't take me long to remember why I stopped doing battlegrounds... The daily battleground today was Call to Arms: Isle of Conquest. It took us 6 battles to get a win, it was some pretty poor playing and a lot of AFK. It is obvious Blizzard is doing nothing about the AFK problem as it is worse now that it ever was. If they are trying to do something about it they are failing horribly.

Isle of Conquest was a new battleground to me, not even sure when it showed up but it was today's daily. It seems to be similar to Wintergrasp where you have a keep you try to defend while trying to get into the other sides keep. There are bases and a workshop to fight over too. More bases gives you more reinforcements. One difference is there is a General in the keep you can kill to win the game before the reinforcements run out, so that is another way to win it. Not that we were doing much winning, we lost 5 and won 1. And even the one we won was really close, as a matter of fact we were losing on reinforcements when we killed the Horde's General. Anyway I finally got it done and collected 19g86s and 1241 bonus honor.

I fought in one Alterac Valley today too, it was a win. I had nothing to do with that though, I got in at the end of it and was on my way to Frostwolf Keep when we won it, I didn't even see the enemy.

I fought in 2 Eye of the Storm battles and they were just sad. A lot of Flagtards in those 2 battles. When you only have one tower, which you are in the process of losing, you don't need to have 12 of the 15 people on your team at the flag. Also when the battle starts you don't need to have 3/4 of your team run to the flag. Towers win over the flag every time but a lot of people are just too stupid to realize that. The flag is to EoS what Glav is to AV, something to distract the stupid. Nothing has changed in EoS...

Infused Mushroom Meatloaf and Dangerously Delicious 11/8/09

I got on Wranngar again and did my daily cooking and fishing. Today the cooking was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf and the fishing was Dangerously Delicious.

As usual I did the cooking first. I got my 4 Infused Mushrooms really fast, one right after the other. It seemed like no one was doing it. I ran over to the guild bank and grabbed 2 Chilled Meat to make my meatloaf. Once I had that cooked up I went to see Orton Bennet upstairs at Curiosities and Moore. I gave him his meatloaf and he gave me 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 4 Northern Spices, 3 Baby Spice and another Dalaran Cooking Award in it. Not a bad haul today.

From there I was off to Wintergrasp to catch some Terrorfish for the daily fishing. It took me 28 casts to get the 10 Terrorfish I needed. That is a lot for this quest. Once I finally had the 10 I needed I headed back to see Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran to hand them in. She gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures with 8g50s34c, 3 Pygmy Oil, a Battered Jungle Hat and 4 Deviate Fish. Enough with the Deviate Fish already, I got more than I ever wanted and that's with vendoring them for the past couple months. Not a great haul today on this one.

I am in the process of doing the daily battleground too. It is Call to Arms: Isle of Conquest today and the Alliance seem to be as clueless as ever in there. It is my first time in there so I really didn't know what was going on but I am pretty sure going AFK in the keep is not how we are going to win one. I will have a battleground post later. I am going to continue to try and win one. We are currently 3 losses and 0 wins.

Gomorra daily's 11/7/09

I decided to get back on and do the daily cooking and fishing on Gomorra. They were Convention at the Legerdemain for the cooking, a really easy one, and Monsterbelly Appetite for the fishing, another easy one. I hadn't been on Gom for awhile so I figured I would give him some time and make a little gold while I was at it. Both these quests only took me about 10 minutes.

I did the cooking first as usual. I grabbed 4 Chilled Meat from the guild bank and made my Northern Stew, then I headed over to One More Glass, the wine and cheese shop in Dalaran, for a Jug of Wine. I found the Jug of Wine as soon as I walked in the door so all I had to do then was run across the road and see Arille Azuregaze, the bartender at The Legerdemain. I gave him the stew and wine and he gave me 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices in it. Not a great haul.

I was off to Un'upe after that to catch a Bloated Monsterbelly. When I got to Un'upe I flew southeast to the icebergs out there and found a Monsterbelly school right off. I got my Bloated Monsterbelly on the 3rd cast which wasn't too bad. I got the Severed Arm out of it and headed back in to shore to take the flight path back to Dalaran so I could hand it in to Olisarra the Kind, (36,37) the Grand Master First Aid Trainer in the Magus Commerce Exchange. She is going to try to reunite the arm with the fisherman. Good luck. Anyway she gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures for my trouble. When I opened it, it had 8g9s33c, 5 Pygmy Oil, 2 Pieces of Worthless Orange Glass and 3 Deviate Fish in it. Not a great haul on this one today either. There are still a lot of good rewards to be had from the daily fishing so I will keep plugging away at it.

Just Wandering Around 11/8/09

I got on Wranngar early this morning to get my daily's from yesterday out of the way. Funny thing, because of the time change here the daily's I did were for the 7th, not the 6th as I thought, so I was unable to pick up the daily's. Not sure when they roll over now. Anyway I just wandered around. I went over to the Barren's to see if I could get Rocklance to drop Recipe: Savory Deviate Delight but he wasn't around.

After that I just wandered around some. There was no one on at all. I went long stretches without seeing anyone. I wandered around Eastern Kingdom some then headed to the Outlands for awhile. There was nothing going on there either. I could have done my daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade and The Sons of Hodir but I just wasn't into it, I will do them all when I get on later after they roll over. I did stop by to see Terokkarantula while I was in the Bonewastes. He's a level 65 elite you get a quest for there.

I will get on later and do all my daily's.

Monsterbelly Appetite and Convention at the Legerdemain 11/6/09

I got on Wranngar right before the daily's rolled over again today. Today it was a race though, I didn't know if I would get the fishing handed in but I did. Today the cooking was Convention at the Legerdemain, a nice easy one, while the fishing was Monsterbelly Appetite, another easy one.

As usual I did the cooking first, running over the bank for some Chilled Meat to make my Northern Stew, then I was off to One More Glass, the wine and cheese shop in Dalaran for a Jug of Wine. I found the Jug of Wine as soon as I walked in the door which was nice, all in all it made this daily really fast. I ran over to see Arille Azuregaze, the bartender at The Legerdemain. He gave me 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 4 Northern Spices and 3 Baby Spice in it. Not a great haul today but not bad either.

I was off to Un'upe after that to catch a Bloated Monsterbelly. I had a hard time finding a Monsterbelly School but when I finally did I got it on the second cast. I hearthed back to Dalaran and turned it in to Olisarra the Kind, (36,37) the Grand Master First Aid Trainer in the Magus Commerce Exchange in exchange for a Bag of Fishing Treasures. Today it had 9g55s39c, 2 Elixir of Water Walking, a Stuffed Shark Head and 4 Deviate Fish. Not a great return on this one today either.

I saw I was down to 10 Chilled Meat when I did the cooking today so I headed over to Sholazar Basin to farm some more. I ended up getting 30 Chilled Meat, 3 Rhino Meat, a lot of Borean Leather and a piece of Artic Fur. That was a better return than both the daily's combined :).

Sewer Stew and Dangerously Delicious 11/3/09

I have been slacking a little lately but I did get on Wranngar today and got the daily cooking and fishing done. The cooking today was Sewer Stew while the fishing was Dangerously Delicious again. I almost skipped the fishing but decided in the end to do it. If I don't do it I can't get the good stuff :).

I did the cooking first which had me heading down to Crystalsong Forest to pick Crystalsong Carrots. It didn't take me long at all to get the 4 I needed, so I was headed back to Dalaran to get some Chilled Meat out of the bank to cook it up with. Once I had it cooked I delivered it to Ajay Green at the Cantrips and Crows Tavern in the Underbelly in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 4 Northern Spices in it. Not the best day but I have had worse.

I was off to Wintergrasp after that to fish up some Terrorfish. It was one of the rare occasions that the Horde were in possession of it but I didn't have any trouble. I headed to my spot at the southern end and got my 10 Terrorfish in 20 casts. Those in hand I headed back to see Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran to exchange them for a Bag of Fishing Treasures. Today my Bag of Fishing Treasures had 9g57s31c, 2 Elixirs of Water Walking, an Unusual Compass and 2 Deviate Fish. Nothing to write home about there, I sold the Unusual Compass to a vendor for 2 gold.
