I logged on a little earlier today on
Wranngar and did my Alterac Valley daily battleground before the server day rolled over. We won the second battle I was in. It was a much better group today and I stayed in there for quite awhile. I fought in 12 battles, 5 wins and 7 losses. Believe it or not that is a pretty good score for the Alliance on this server. We only had one really bad battle where everyone just stayed at DB for some reason. I'm not really sure what was up with that, you can't win without offense. In the 5 battles we won we killed
Drek. In the 7 battles we lost the Horde won on reinforcements in 5 of them and killed
Vann in 2.
There was someone who was pushing the plan to just run right to
Drek and kill him. They had no concept of the towers at all, said we didn't need them and they do it all the time lmao. I am sure they
do not do it all the time as it is almost impossible unless you have a really good group and the PUG's that get made up by the game are definitely not good enough to get it done. For those who are not aware what role the towers play in AV, each tower represents a Warmaster and plus 25% health to
Drek. That means with 4 towers up
Drek has 4 elite warmasters with him, along with 2 elite Frostwolves, and he is at 200% health.
I seriously doubt this person has been in any battles where the Alliance rushed
Drek and took him out with 4 towers up. That also should give you an idea about how long it has been since they fought in AV. The rush IBGY, rush FWGY and even the rush FWRH strategies all seem to work as long as everyone follows the plan, the main problem being people do not follow the plan. We only had one battle where people went to
Galv first and of course it was a loss, going for
Galv is pretty much a guaranteed loss. Despite the fact Blizzard says they are doing something about the AFK problem
in the battlegrounds the problem is getting worse on a daily basis. There were quite a few people AFK in all the battles I was in again today. So not a great day for the Alliance but not a horrible day either. The daily battleground pays 11g99s and 419 honor.
