Children's Week - Day 1 - 5/2/10

Today Brieonna and Wranngar each took an Orphan from Stormwind and Shattrath and made the rounds with them, taking them to see all the sights they wanted to see. The Orphan from Stormwind is a boy and his name is Randis, the Orphan from Shattrath is a girl and her name is Dornaa. It appears to be the same Orphan every year but they don't seem to age.

This was the first year for Brieonna but it is the third year for Wranngar. Wranngar now has all the pets from both the Stormwind and Shattrath versions of this World Event. Wranngar earned the Veteran Nanny achievement today for his efforts with the Orphans in Shattrath. This time the pet he choose was Sleepy Willy.

There is a lot of running around taking these Orphans everywhere they want to go so you need to do a little planning before you set out. A little advance planning will ensure you don't end up somewhere with your hearthstone on cool down making you wait.

They took the Orphans from Stormwind to the Haunted Lighthouse in Westfall, then from there to the Dam in Loch Modan. After that they hearthed back to Dalaran and took the portal to Darnassus so they could see the bank there which is carved out of the base of a living tree. From there we flew to Theramore Isle to get Lady Jaina Proudmoore's autograph. Randis had one more request after that and that was for some ice cream. We took the boat to Menethil Harbor, then flew back to Stormwind and got him some Tigule and Foror's Strawberry Ice Cream. After that it is time to head back to the Orphanage where he offers you one of he pets to remember him by.

I got Piglet's Collar on both Brieonna and Wranngar.

The Orphans from Shattrath had a different agenda from the ones in Stormwind which is good, it keeps you from getting bored.

The first place we headed after getting the Orphan, Dornaa, was Aeris Landing to see her brother Jheel who is studying to be a Jewelcrafter. After that happy reunion it was off to the Bone Wastes to see the meeting stone in Auchindoun. Once there she activates the stone opening a portal, that completes that quest. I flew over to Allerian Stronghold and took the flight point to the Dark Portal after that. When she was done looking at the Dark Portal she wanted to go to Exodar and see the Seat of the Naaru, which then sends you to go see the Farseer. This one is pretty cool because she has dreamed about him and while she is there she calls forth 4 elementals at once. After that it is the long haul to her last request, to see the Dragon at the Caverns of Time. You take the boat from Exodar to Auberdeen then fly from there all the way down to Tanaris. That flight takes awhile. Once there you ride over to the Caverns of time and see the Dragon. After that you will need to buy her a toy dragon and you are done, then all you need to do is take her back to the Orphanage in Shattrath.

Back at the Orphanage she offers you one of her pets to remember her by. Wranngar got Sleepy Willy while Brieonna got the Elekk Training Collar.

During the course of the week I will get these done on Brieanna, Gomorra and Breeonna as well.

Children's Week

Children's Week is on us once again, May 1st through May 7th. This is the second year I have taken part in this. The objective of Children's Week is to take an Orphan out and show them a good time. I got the same Orphans as I had last year. I got Dornaa from the Orphanage in Shattrath City and an unnamed Human Orphan from the Orphanage in Stormwind.

I took Dornaa to see the Dark Portal, she wanted to see it from the Outlands side (not the Azeroth side it turns out), The Exodar, The Caverns of Time and a few other places. I think she had a pretty good time, I got her a Toy Dragon from The Caverns of Time. While we were at the Exodar she saw someone she had dreamed about. He encouraged her to do what she did in her dream, summon 4 Elementals, which she did. I wonder who/what she will grow up to be.

I took the unnamed Human Orphan to see the bank in Darnassus, the Lighthouse in Westfall, I took him to see, and got him, Jaina Proudmoore's Autograph in Theramore and a couple other places. I got him some ice cream and he seemed to have a pretty good time too.

As a reward for taking Dornaa, the Orphan from Shattrath, to all the places she wanted to go I got Egbert's Egg on Wranngar and Elekk Training Collar on Gomorra.

As a reward for taking the unnamed Human, from Stormwind, to all the places he wanted to go I got Whiskers the Rat on both Wranngar and Gomorra.

I grabbed both of them again as soon as I turned them in so I can complete some more achievements.

Orphan Week - Dornaa 5/1/08

Axeelina and Gomorra picked up a couple more orphans in Shatt today. Mine was named Dornaa and Axe's was named Dornaa and the one I adopted in Shatt yesterday on Wranngar was named Dornaa and I was wondering if maybe this was just one orphan taking advantage of the situation. The only thing I couldn't figure out was how she managed to be 2 orphans at once. Any we took these "two" orphans out and showed them the town. We took them to all the same places I took my orphan yesterday with the exception of the battleground. I took this one fishing instead. We caught a few regular fish and 3 Golden Darter which I use to make Golden Fish Sticks. Golden Fish Sticks go for 20g a stack on the auction house. The rewards were the same as when I did it on Wranngar, Elekk Training Collar, Egbert's Egg and Sleepy Willy. This time I got Egbert's Egg. You let the thing out and it doesn't sit still, it's running all over the place.

Daily Battleground 4/30/08

I was in 7 AV's on Wranngar today trying to get my daily battleground done. They were all losses. We got close to Drek a couple times but that was it. The last battle looked promising until I realized we were going for Drek with very little offense and 2 towers still up. We lost that one too. We just didn't have the motivation I guess. We had some really good defense in a couple of the battles but there is only so much they can do when offense is going nowhere. In most of the battles the Horde were able to keep us from getting any farther than Frostwolf Graveyard. Today was not a good day for the Alliance in AV, that is for sure. I did get to take Dornaa, the orphan I adopted, in to see a couple battles in AV. She got 44 HK's lol. I might try another AV or 2 tonight but I am not sure. I might just wait until tomorrow to get the daily battleground done.

Orphan Week - Dornaa 4/30/08

This is Orphan Week in WoW so I got a Draenei Girl with Wranngar. Her name is Dornaa. I picked her up at the orphanage in Shatt. I took her to see the Dark Portal, visit her brother in Nagrand and to the Circle of Observance in the Bone Wastes. Then she wanted to go see the Seat of the Naaru in Exodar but I thought she would have more fun doing a couple AV's first. I was right, she had a lot of fun. She wasn't any help in combat though. We didn't win but she got 44 HK's :). She can run fast too, she has no problem keeping up with my Swift War Tiger. Then we went to Exodar to the Seat of the Naaru and she saw that. From there we went to The Caverns of Time. We had to wait a long time before she noticed the Dragon and we could complete the quest. After that I got her a souvenir from the CoT gift shop and we were on our way back to Shatt to get her back to the Orphanage before bed time. All in all a pretty easy fun quest with nice rewards, you get to pick between Elekk Training Collar, Egbert's Egg and Sleepy Willy. I got the Elekk Training Collar
