Brieanna Update 2/12/10

Brieanna is moving right along. She is level 75 now, less than 3 bars from 76, and has her Herbalism and Skinning, her primary professions, maxed out at 450. She also has her cooking maxed at 450, her First Aid at 436 and her fishing at 351. She recently got her 300 riding skill.

She has gotten almost all of level 75 in Alterac Valley fighting Horde. She has 14,151 kills now and is getting more every day. I love fighting on her in there, I love the range she has with a gun and bow. I would like to level her to 80 in the battlegrounds and get her PvP gear so she has most of it when she turns 80 but the queue's are so long for AV I don't see that happening. There were 3 days where I spent over 4 hours a day in queue and never got in. Just yesterday I started being able to get into AV again.

Recently she got her 300 riding skill. That cost me 5,000 gold plus another 95 gold for a swift flying mount for her to ride. I didn't have enough left over at the time to get her an Armored Snowy Gryphon, but I got her one today. That was another 1,900 gold. She is pretty much all set for mounts now.

If you would like to read about her exploits in AV and other battlegrounds, check out her blog Aspect of the Beast.

Manual: Heavy Frostweave Bandage 4/13/09

Gomorra finally had Manual: Heavy Frostweave Bandage drop for him tonight. I had been wondering if it would ever drop, then after it did I did some thinking which I am prone to do on occasion. I leveled Gomorra's First Aid skill to 399 yesterday (In an attempt to get to 400) so I could use Heavy Frostweave Bandages, even if I couldn't make them, and I wondered if that had anything to do with it finally dropping. I went to Thottbot and did some reading and the general opinion seems to be that you have to have First Aid Skill of 390 or higher to get it to drop. That makes sense as I had been killing these same mobs for weeks without it dropping. I have heard people say that it only drops off dungeon mobs but I knew that wasn't true because it dropped for Wranngar outside a dungeon, in Zul'Drak around level 74, but he had 400 First Aid Skill at the time.

From what everyone is saying, if you have 390, or higher, First Aid Skill and you go to Rageclaw Den around 33,64, which is South of Light's Breach in Zul'drak, there is a pretty high drop rate for it, around 20%. This is a BoP book so the only way you are going to get it is if it drops for you. Because I now have it on both my characters that are in Northrend I will have to wait until I get my Deathknight Wrangar out there to see if the drop rate is really that high. If anyone heads out there after reading this post and gets it to drop, or has had it drop there, let us know how it worked out for you.

Wrangar 12/08/08

I played Wrangar for a bit tonight. I got a few bars on him but stopped when I ran out of rested XP. I was questing in Nagrand tonight. I got my skinning to 425 and got a lot of leather. I don't know how high I will be able to get my skinning in the Outlands, I think I can get it to 450 there, it is just going to take a lot of skinning. The levels in skill are few and far between now because of the level of the mobs I am skinning. I am having no problem playing a Deathknight and I like it. I wasn't sure I would because I had a Warrior once, my first character actually, and I didn't really like it at all. I went to North Rend to see if I could learn any more bandages for my first aid and there was nothing. I looked it up and the manual for the next bandages is a BoP drop off a mob :(. I guess it is going to take me a while to get that as it drops off mobs in North Rend. I think I will get Wrangar to 65 tomorrow though, then I might try for a Worg Pup. I have the quest, I just have to go in and get one. This is a picture of a Death Gate, it is what Deathknights use to transport back to Ebon Hold.

Brieanna 9/24/08

I got Brieanna to level 35 tonight. That opened up a couple doors. I got my first aid up to 375 and my cooking up to 293. I can also get the fishing quest when I hit 225 fishing skill. I leveled to 35 in Theramore which is where you take the first aid quest/test to learn first aid to 300. I took the quest/test and completed it on the first try. You have to save 15 soldiers before 6 die. They range from injured to badly injured to critically injured. Obviously you have to tend to the critically injured ones first while the injured ones can hang on a little longer. I think I had only 3 die by the time I healed 15. Once I had the skill to take me to 300 I logged over to my cloth bank and sent the cloth I needed, logged back over, and made some bandages. When I hit 300 I logged onto Gomorra and went to the Temple of Telhmat in Hellfire Peninsula to get the books to take Brieanna to 300. When I got there a 70 Rogue was attacking the place. I landed and he was standing there laughing at me so I killed him. I don't think that was the outcome he was looking for :). Anyway I got the books, sent them, then logged back to Brieanna and leveled to 375. I am glad that's out of the way and I don't have to worry about leveling it up anymore. I would like to get her cooking to 375 too, that would be very helpful while leveling.
