Orphan Week - Dornaa 4/30/08

This is Orphan Week in WoW so I got a Draenei Girl with Wranngar. Her name is Dornaa. I picked her up at the orphanage in Shatt. I took her to see the Dark Portal, visit her brother in Nagrand and to the Circle of Observance in the Bone Wastes. Then she wanted to go see the Seat of the Naaru in Exodar but I thought she would have more fun doing a couple AV's first. I was right, she had a lot of fun. She wasn't any help in combat though. We didn't win but she got 44 HK's :). She can run fast too, she has no problem keeping up with my Swift War Tiger. Then we went to Exodar to the Seat of the Naaru and she saw that. From there we went to The Caverns of Time. We had to wait a long time before she noticed the Dragon and we could complete the quest. After that I got her a souvenir from the CoT gift shop and we were on our way back to Shatt to get her back to the Orphanage before bed time. All in all a pretty easy fun quest with nice rewards, you get to pick between Elekk Training Collar, Egbert's Egg and Sleepy Willy. I got the Elekk Training Collar

Server Back Up 4/30/08

I guess the server came back up around 7:30PM. I was trying about every 15-20 minutes or so. I went right into AV which also happens to be the daily today. I am really liking Deadly Boss Mods. It gives me all the times on all the graveyards and towers in AV, both Horde and Alliance. Like I said I have been wanting it for awhile and I finally got it.

Aman'Thul Down 4/30/08

I checked again at 7PM and the server is still down. You can check the Realm Status
here but it never seems to be right, it is saying that Aman'Thul is up right now when it is not. I created a new character Whelzely on a US server while I was waiting. The server is Jaedenar and it is a RPPVP server. I will see how that works out, should be interesting to say the least. I got Whelzely up 5 levels in an hour. She is a Night Elf Druid. I am also leveling another Druid on Aman'Thul, Sylventa, she will be Resto spec when I am done. I really like the versatility a Druid gives you. I haven't worked on Sylventa much, she is only level 11 but I do work on her once in awhile when I have my daily's done and am bored with the battlegrounds. That doesn't happen too often :).

Server Update 4/30/08

Well 4PM has come and gone and the servers are still down. They are no longer giving an estimated time as to when the problem will be fixed, they are saying they will keep us updated to their progress. That, to me, means it is going to be awhile.

Servers Down 4/30/08

I tried to log in today and the server was down for Aman'Thul along with a bunch of other servers. I can't complain too much, usually when the servers are having problems Aman'Thul is fine. I took that opportunity to download and install Deadly Boss Mods. First I downloaded WoWMatrix then I used that to install Deadly Boss Mods. The Deadly Boss Mod Add-on gives you the GY and Tower timers in the Battlegrounds as well as how long they estimate to win and who they estimate will win based on current conditions. I have been wanting to get this one for awhile but every time I thought of it I was already playing and didn't want to, or couldn't, leave to install it. So now, if the server ever comes back up, I will have that to use in the battlegrounds. I wanted it mostly for AV as that has so many towers, bunkers and GY's. Anyway they say the server will be back up at 1PM PST which is 4PM my time, which is now so I am going to see if I can log in.

Daily Cooking Quest 4/29/08

The daily cooking quest today was the same one I got yesterday, Super Hot Stew. I did it on Wranngar. I had to go out to Blades Edge and kill some Wind Serpents and Lashtail Raptors for meat. When I had a few pieces of each I cooked them up and flew over to Forge Camp Terror. I killed a giant elemental and used the pot to cook the stew over it's remains. After I had it cooked I flew over to Shatt and turned it in. I got 7g59s and some Basalisk meat for it, no recipe again today :(.

Alterac Valley 4/29/08

I did 10 battles on Wranngar today, Axeelina was in 2 of them with me. We won 5 and lost 5. I guess 50% is not bad compared to some of the days I've had in AV. I can't believe that there are still people calling for rushing Drek and kill him. No towers, nothing, just rush down there and kill him..... That doesn't work anymore which should give you an idea how long it has been since these people have been in an AV battle. We actually had a battle where everyone went and did Galv first and we won! It actually went pretty smooth. We got Galv then stormed IBT, IBGY and TP pretty much running right over the Horde, we drove them into the ground :). We moved up and overpowered the defense at FWGY, still moving in a large group, and then went into Frostwolf Keep and took the relief hut and towers. After that it was a simple matter of downing Drek when the towers capped. I guess this proves that pretty much any reasonable plan will work if everyone works together on it. A couple of the ones we lost we had most the towers capped and were on Drek but not fast enough, the Horde downed Vann. A couple we lost from turtling SHGY and/or DB. I can never understand the defend SHGY with everything you got and give them DB strat, it just doesn't make sense to me. On our other wins we rushed either FWGY or IBGY and worked forward from there, got the towers and Drek. We didn't win any of our battles on reinforcements today.

Daily Battleground 4/29/08

The daily battleground today was Eye of the Storm. I did it on Wranngar and we won the first battle I was in. The daily battleground pays 11g99s and 419 honor. A little later I did another EoS with Axeelina but we lost that one. Axeelina had already gotten the daily BG done, she was just going after marks.

Daily's Wranngar 4/29/08

I did my Shattered Sun daily's on Wranngar along with Gaining the Advantage, the daily cooking quest and the daily battleground which was EoS. I made about 130g on them. I didn't get them done on Gomorra and probably won't get them done today.

Alterac Valley II 4/28/08

I went back for a little more AV on Wranngar. I fought in 4 more battles and we won 2 and lost 2. The last one I was in was a loss. There was no teamwork, some people went for the rush FWGY plan and some went for the rush IBGY plan and some just went to Galv but not really enough went to any one place. It was mayhem. We managed to get IBGY after awhile and eventually FWGY which we held for a little while then lost. The other loss we were trying but just ran out of time when the Horde killed Vann. We had 1 tower still up and we starting on Drek when they killed him. In the two wins we had one was using the rush FWGY strat and one was using the rush IBGY start, both seem to work well. I have heard the rush FWRH strat called for a few times but no one does that too much anymore for the simple reason it doesn't work that often. In our second win we had all the towers down, but FWRH hadn't capped yet, and we killed Drek, it went pretty smooth. That was the battle where we rushed IBGY. After we claimed that we went on to cap IBT & TP then get Galv. Others went ahead and got FWGY, FWRH and the Frostwolf Towers. In our first battle we rushed the FWGY but also managed to pick up IBGY along the way. IBT & TP got capped pretty quick while we were capping the FWRH and the East & West Frostwolf Towers. We ended up taking Drek with the East Tower still up but we had FWRH and did it without any real problems. One extra Warmaster +25% more health to Drek isn't too bad if you have a good offensive team. Heck he's really not that hard to take down with 2 Warmasters and +50% health with a good offensive team and good heals.

Daily's Wranngar 4/28/08

I did all my Shattered Sun Daily's on Wranngar today plus the daily BG, daily cooking and Gaining the Advantage quests. I made about 130g off those and was able to send 250g to the bank from my daily's from both. I am a little over 2/5 of the way to Gomorra's 300 riding skill. Another couple weeks and I will have it.

Alterac Valley 4/28/08

I went into AV and fought in 4 battles on Wranngar, all losses. One was a turtle in Dun Baldar and another was a turtle of Stonehearth GY. The other 2 were a little closer. In one we were on Drek when the Horde killed Vann. We had Drek at about 47% when they killed Vann. In the other battle, the last one I was in, we had IBT, TP and IBGY capped, had just capped FW West Tower and were in the process of capping the East when the Horde killed Vann. Not a very good day for the Alliance in AV, at least not in the battles I was in. Yesterday I picked up Gladiator's Idol of Tenacity for Wranngar. I will use that mostly for PvE and use Gladiator's Idol of Resolve for PvP.

Auctions 4/28/08

I put some things on the Auction House today. I put up one stack of Heavy Knothide Leather for a buyout of 55g, a stack of 10 Wind Scales for a buyout of 55g, 2 stacks of Roasted Clefthoof for 5g buyout each and Pattern: Riding Crop for a 10g buyout. I picked up an extra riding crop pattern from Old Hillsbrad when I went to get mine. When this one sells mine will be paid for :).

Daily Cooking Quest 4/28/08

Daily's Gomorra 4/28/08

I did all my Shattered Sun daily's on Gomorra today. I just did the ones in Shattered Sun and made around 90g. I will do them again along with some others on Wranngar later.

Daily Battleground 4/28/08

The daily battleground today was Warsong Gulch again. I did it on Wranngar. Axeelina was in 3 of them with me. She finally went on to do something else after being in 7 losing battles. I stayed with it and finally won one on my 5th battle. Have I ever mentioned I hate WSG? The daily battleground pays 11g99s and 419 honor. I have over 31,000 lifetime kills on Wranngar now :). That puts me around 56,000 lifetime kills between Wranngar and Gomorra.

Alterac Valley Round II 4/27/08

I went back in on Wranngar and fought in 4 more battles in Alterac Valley tonight. We had 1 win and 3 losses. Quite a change from earlier but that's how it goes. You need to catch it at the right time of day with the right people on and it goes a lot smoother. The last battle I was in was a complete turtle in Dun Baldar. One of the other battles I got in half way through and they were pretty well bottled up in DB. I went forward and helped capture IBT for a little honor anyway. We got IBGY too not that it did any good, it was all over shortly after that. In the other battle we lost we were on Drek with one tower still up and the Horde were on Vann with one tower still up. They got Vann down before we could get Drek down. In the one we ended up winning we rushed FWRH and got those towers and FWGY while others behind got IBGY, IBT and TP. We had some pretty good defense going and could wait for the towers to come down before we took down Drek. When we had everything capped we went in and took out Drek, it went smooth and easy with no Warmaster's or Horde in there to interfere.

Daily's Wranngar 4/27/08

I did my Shattered Sun Daily's and Gaining the Advantage on Wranngar. It didn't take me long at all and I made another 125g counting my daily battleground. I have been spending most of my time in the battlegrounds lately but I need to get back into doing all my daily's.

BlackMoor Coven 4/27/08

I finally broke down and got a guild vault for the guild. I was saving for my 300 riding lessons for Wranngar and Gomorra but I got 300 riding on Wranngar so I figured it was time to invest the 100 gold to get the first tab. A few people had asked me about it and I kept saying it was on my list but somehow I never got to it lol.

Alterac Valley 4/27/08

I fought in 6 AV's today on Wranngar. We were doing pretty good, we had 5 wins and 1 loss. Some of the battles we close but we pulled it off by killing Drek. We didn't win any on reinforcements today, got them all by downing Drek. We used a couple different tactics today, one was rush FWGY while capping towers and get Galv after towers cap. Another one that was working was rush IBGY, cap towers, get Galv and then move on to FWGY, FWRH, Towers and Drek. We also did one rush FWRH that actually worked but it seems to be mostly luck when that one works. Usually TP & IBT never get capped so we are looking at tanking Drek with 2 towers up. But this time it worked great, some stopped off and got the towers on the way, we rushed FWRH, got the FW Towers and moved on to Drek. The game we lost was a classic Alliance turtle at Dun Baldar. You can't win them all but I was very impressed with how the Alliance was playing today, both in AV & EoS.

Daily Battleground 4/27/08

The daily battleground today was Eye of the Storm. We won the first one I was in and I had such a good time I went back for more. We had some really good groups for some of the battles and some pretty bad ones for others. I ended up doing 9 battles on Wranngar, 4 wins and 5 losses. In the battles we won we had at least a 3 cap going and were running the flag. I was trading off capturing the flag with another Druid, when he capped I would be at the base waiting for the flag to respawn, then I would grab it, run it to a node and cap it and he would be waiting for respawn. I capped 4, he capped 5. I got 11g99s and 419 honor for this quest.

Daily's Gomorra 4/27/08

I did the same daily's today on Gomorra that I did yesterday, everything in Shattered Sun. I might log onto Wranngar later and do the ones I do on him, not sure. I made about 92g95s on Gomorra's daily's.

Battlegrounds 4/26/08

I did a bunch of battles in AV and WSG today. I did them on Wranngar. I had to do 6 WSG before we finally got a win and I could get my daily done. I was doing AV in between and after WSG. I fought in 17 battles, 5 wins and 12 losses. Definitely not a good day for the Alliance. We won 2 of our battles on reinforcements and the rest we won by killing Drek. Getting Galv first was tried too many times and it just doesn't work but people keep doing it anyway. It is AV weekend this weekend so all the weekend warriors are out in the battlegrounds for the extra honor. Some of the battles were pretty good, a lot of good fighting. I tanked Drek in one of our wins but didn't have good heals. I died the first time when he was around 60%, rezz'd at FWRH, came back in and he was at 43% so I started tanking him again and we got him to under 10% before he killed me again. They finished him off before I rezz'd. I am surprised how many people are calling for rushing Drek. They want all 40 to ride to Drek and zerg him. That is how it was done pre-2.3. Now with the towers and reinforcements it's just not possible. A couple strats that seem to be working are rush IBGY and rush FWGY. As usual when rushing FWGY the Alliance never leave enough people to defend it so we end up losing it. We lose it almost every time but people never learn. FWGY needs to be defended because the Horde will always come back for it.

Daily's Gomorra 4/26/08

I got on Gomorra and did the daily's in Shattered Sun tonight. I did all the quests there and made 92g95s. That brings my total for today to 260g42s. Not my best day but not too bad.

Daily Battleground 4/26/08

I did the daily battleground on Wranngar today. It was WSG. Have I ever mentioned I hate WSG? It took 6 battles to get a win, or I should say a good group. In the 5 battles we lost the Horde really beat us in most of them, and a couple were close. Almost all of them were long battles. We finally ended up winning in a shutout, 3/0. I ran the flag a few times in a few of the battles but there was no flag support and every little effort being put into the first 5 battles I was in. Anyway it's over and hopefully it will be awhile before it comes up again. I got 11g99s and 419 honor from this quest.

Daily's Wranngar 4/26/08

I did a bunch of daily's on Wranngar today. I did the daily cooking quest but I didn't get a recipe :(. I did all my Shattered Sun quests and the Throne of Kil'Jaeden along with Nagrand and Shadowmoon Valley. All together on Wranngar I made 167g47s on daily's today. Now I will do them again a little later on Gomorra. After I did the daily's on Wranngar I did some battlegrounds trying to get the daily battleground done which happens to be WSG. I hate WSG. So far 5 losses and my daily battleground still isn't done :(. I will keep trying.

Daily's 4/25/08

I have been really bad with my daily's lately. I did a few today on both Wranngar and Gomorra but not too many, I only made around 47g :(. I will have to really get back on them and pick up a few more too. I really want to get my 300 riding skill on Gomorra now so I can get him on an epic flying mount.

Daily Battleground 4/25/08

Today's daily battleground was Alterac Valley. I won the first one I was in on Wranngar then did another 16. We one won 2 more for a total of 3 wins and 14 losses. Not a good day for the Alliance in AV at all. People just didn't seem to be motivated. I also think it is AV weekend again and that pulls everyone in. Anyway most battles we didn't even get any of the Frostwolf Towers or FWRH. In a few battles we lost at Drek while we were trying to bring him down. In a few of the battles the Alliance just seemed to stall in the IBT/IBGY area and hung out there fighting Horde. I got tangled up in one battle where the plan was to charge Drek and take him down without taking any towers. That didn't work out well. Each tower represents a Warmaster and +25% health to Drek. When there are 4 towers up there are 4 Warmasters in with Drek who is also at 200% health. Not an easy task. We had a couple battles where everyone turtled at either Dun Baldar or Stonehearth GY. In the battles we did win we took IBGY and as soon as that was claimed we started on the towers while a large group moved forward to FWGY and FW. We got the towers, FWRH and FW Towers and killed Drek. In all of our wins we killed Drek, we didn't have any wins on reinforcements today.

Battlegrounds 4/24/08

I did a bunch of battlegrounds today on Wranngar. I did 4 AB's, 2 wins and 2 losses, AB was my daily. I did 14 AV's, 7 wins and 7 losses. What seems to be working in AV now is either the FWGY approach or IBGY. Rushing FWRH isn't working because the Horde get on us so bad when we do that we are unable to go back and get the other towers and then we can't kill Drek with 2 Warmasters and a room full or Horde. I tanked Drek on a couple of our wins and tanked Galv a few times. 2 of the battles we won on reinforcements and more than a few the Horde won on reinforcements. The get Galv first strat never seems to work and the Horde are onto the rush FWRH strat so they are wiating for us on that one. The last game I was in the Horde had so many on D at Frostwolf that they couldn't take down Vann after they had the towers down and won on reinforcements after having the towers down for over 5 minutes.

Daily Battleground 4/24/08

Today's daily battleground was Arathi Basin again. I did it on Wranngar. We lost the first one I was in but we won the second. Then Axeelina came on and she wanted to do the daily BG so I did it again, another win. I went on to do another one by myself and we lost that one so we were 50% for the 4 I was in. I got 11g99s and 419 honor for that one.

Battlegrounds 4/23/08

The Alliance wasn't doing as well in the battlegrounds today as they were yesterday. I had Wranngar in 5 battles in AV, 4 losses and 1 win. The strat that seemed to be causing the most trouble was the "Get Galv first" strat. That usually ended in a wipe and everyone being sent back to Dun Baldar. The rush FWRH strat doesn't seem to be working anymore either. We got our win tonight by getting IBGY, then 3 towers, FWRH and finally Drek. I don't think we ever got Galv in that battle. There was one battle where we held SHGY for some reason, keeping all the Horde in from of us so we couldn't advance or cap any towers. I tanked Drek at the end of the battle we won while there was still a tower up. It went pretty smooth and we took him down fast and easy. I don't know why everyone couldn't have worked together like that before, we would have had less losses.

Daily's 4/23/08

I was pretty bad with my daily's today. I did all my Shattered Sun daily's on Gomorra but only did a couple on Wranngar. I only made about 120g today on my daily's. I did the daily cooking quest on Wranngar and also Gaining the Advantage.

Daily Battleground 4/23/08

The daily battleground today was Arathi Basin. I did it on Wranngar and we won the first one I was in. We had a 4 cap going part of the battle and a 3 cap going for most of it. At one point we were down to 2 but it didn't last long. We beat them 2000/1230. We started off with the Stables, Gold Mine, Lumber Mill and Blacksmith but we lost the Blacksmith right off. After that we took the Farm and lost the Lumber Mill and it pretty much went back and forth like that for the rest of the battle. We would lose one and get one, lose one and get two. It was a pretty good display of teamwork on the part of the Alliance.

Wranngar 4/23/08

I helped out a friend of mine Dragoss today with Wranngar. He had some quests in STV to get done. We did 5 or 6 quests and got them out of the way. Then I logged over to Gomorra and gave another friend, Jacedic, a hand in Terokkar Forest with a couple quests. I will log back on a little later and either do the daily's on Wranngar or some battlegrounds. Maybe both.
