Sewer Stew - Daily Cooking 2/2/10

Today when I went over to see Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, for the daily cooking quest, she had Sewer Stew for Brieanna. I wasn't sure if I would be able to do this one, because of the level of the mobs in the area you pick Crystalsong Carrots, and almost skipped it but decided to try. I didn't have any problems.

I took the Violet Gate down to Crystalsong Forest, which was a quest in itself, and picked my carrots. The mobs there are skull (??) level to me so I made sure to keep my distance from them. Once I had my 4 Crystalsong Carrots I took the Violet Gate back up to Dalaran, turned that quest in, then headed over to the bank for some Chilled Meat. As Brieanna's cooking skill is in the 390's I have no problem cooking any of these recipes and cooked up my Vegetable Stew.

I took that down to Ajay Green at the Cantrips and Crows Tavern in the Underbelly and exchanged it for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 6, yes 6, Northern Spices in it. A great return on this one today.

Brieanna - Northrend 2/2/10

I got Brieanna to level 68 and hit Northrend today. I am on the final leg of my journey to 80. I have since leveled her to 69.

When I got into Northrend I picked up all the quests I could find then got to work. I got some nice gear as rewards and her gear score has jumped about 500 points. I am having no problem picking any of the herbs I am finding and that is a relief, I will be able to continue leveling my herbalism as I go along. I still remember all the quests from when I took Gomorra through there not too long ago and that saves me time.

One thing I am pretty happy about is being able to learn to fly there at level 68 instead of 77. That is going to save me a lot of time. Right after I got there Wranngar purchased a Tome of Cold Weather Flight for 1,000 gold and sent it to Brieanna so she could learn to fly in cold weather. If you already have a level 80 in Northernd you are able to do this and as I have 2 there it was no problem. Tome of Cold Weather Flight is BoA (Bind on Account) and requires level 68 to learn so I was able to mail it to her. It is consumed when you use it so you still pay the 1,000 gold for each character to learn it.

I also worked on my fishing skill and got that up to 232. I did a quest for Nat Pagle which got me a new fishing pole, Nat's Lucky Fishing Pole. Almost as nice as the Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole, with the +25 to fishing skill opposed to the Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole with +30, but no where near as nice looking. It will do until I can get my Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole.
