Cheese for Glowergold

Cheese for Glowergold is my least favorite daily cooking quest in Dalaran. To say I hate it wouldn't be going too far at all. If you're Alliance you get this one from Katherine Lee (41,65), in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome. That is where all the Alliance daily cooking quests start. If you're Horde you get it from Awilo Lon'gomba (70,38), inside The Filthy Animal next to Krasus' Landing.

The objective of this daily is to run all over Dalaran collecting Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses. You need 6 of them. If you think Wild Mustard is hard to target, I know I do, then you're in for a real treat. You will also have to pick up a chunk of Aged Dalaran Limburger from One More Glass (53,33), the wine and cheese shop in central Dalaran. This item spawns and can spawn anywhere inside the store, upstairs or down.

The most common places to find the Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses are in the Legerdemain, A Hero's Welcome, One More Glass, (upstairs and down in those three) and a place everyone seems to overlook, Cantrips and Crows Tavern in the Underbelly. Between both my characters I got 5 out of Cantrips and Crows Tavern tonight, it was the most I got at any single stop. You can get one or two in other places but these seem to have the highest concentration and spawn rate. Once you have the 6 Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses and the chunk of Aged Dalaran Limburger you will need to combine them on the platter you were supplied with. To do this simply right click on the platter. You do not need a cooking fire to combine them.

Deliver them to Ranid Glowergold (36,28) at the Leatherworkers in the Magus Commerce Exchange. He will give you 9g93s, at least one Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag that can contain any, or all, of the following:

Northern Spices
Old Spices
Baby Spice
Dalaran Cooking Award
And if you don't have it, Recipe: Delicious Chocolate Cake. (This is a rare drop, 1.7%)

Good Luck :)

Jewel of the Sewers

We finally had a new daily fishing quest in Dalaran today, it was Jewel Of The Sewers. I got this from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran. To complete the quest you have to fish up a piece of Corroded Jewelry in the sewers. I headed down into the sewers with no real idea where I was going to fish for this.

I tried the middle first, the Circle of Wills, but didn't have any luck after 10 casts so I headed over to the Black Market to see if I would have any better luck. This was on Wranngar and he ended up getting the piece of Corroded Jewelry he needed to complete the quest on his 8th cast in the Black Market.

The quest gives you a tip, "The trick is to let your hook drag the bottom and don't pull up too hard when get something". I fished this like I was fishing anything else, right clicked on my bobber as soon as it bobbed and got my loot.

I did it again on Gomorra after that and decided to try over by the Cantrips and Crows Tavern first, to see if I could get one there. I gave up there after 10 casts and headed over to the Black Market. I got my piece of Corroded Jewelry on my 2nd cast there.

This quest gets turned back in to Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran. The reward is a Bag of Fishing Treasures which can contain anything from pets to epic gems to worthless pieces of glass, that sell for 5 copper each to a vendor, and anything in between. It always contains some gold too, anywhere from 6 to 10 gold along with some silver and copper.

I would definitely say the place to fish for Corroded Jewelry is in the Black Market. There was hardly anyone there (one other person) when I was fishing. There were a few people fishing in the middle and a lot of people fishing over by the Cantrips and Crows Tavern. This is the first time I have seen this quest in the lineup since I started the daily fishing in Dalaran a couple days after patch 3.1.

There are still 2 more I have not seen yet, Dangerously Delicious and The Ghostfish. Hopefully they will show up soon, I will let you know how I make out.

Good Luck :)

New Look

I changed some of the colors and fonts on the blog today. I think it is easier to read the posts with the new text color and easier to identify the different sections with the new module header color.

There is a poll in the left hand column where you can vote your opinion, let me know what you think.

Blood Is Thicker

Today the daily fishing quest from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was Blood Is Thicker. This one is so easy it's funny.

Here's how I do this one. I fly to the flight path in Unu'pe then head inland until I am just past the snow belt, around 76,43. For those without coords, just fly straight inland from the flight path until you get past the snow and look for a Marsh Caribou to kill. Killing one will cover you in blood for 3 minutes. (Note: Killing one of these, or any other animal the Druids don't approve of killing, might not cover you in blood, it has taken me up to 4 kills to get covered since patach 3.1)

Fly straight back to the shore and jump in the water around 79,51. This will create a blood pool and also remove the blood from you. All you have to do after that is fish the blood pool until you have 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy. This usually takes 2 casts as you get 2 or 3 a cast, usually 3. Head back to Dalaran and turn them in to Marcia Chase for your Bag of Fishing Treasures.

I take the flight path from Krasus' Landing in Dalaran to Unu'pe and the flight is the longest part of the whole quest lol. You can easily complete this in a couple minutes after you land in Unu'pe. I have also had someone land and fish out of my blood pool while I was fishing it, so it looks like you really don't even need to kill anything or get covered in blood, just fish a blood pool if there is one there.

Good Luck :)

Convention at the Legerdemain

The daily cooking quest in Dalaran today was Convention at the Legerdemain. This is one of the easier daily's. Like most of the daily cooking quests, if you have meat on hand, you don't have to leave Dalaran to complete it.

You need to head over to One More Glass, the Wine and Cheese Shop in central Dalaran (53,33) for a jug of wine. For those without coord's it is to the right as you come out of Krasus' Landing, go past the Mount Vendor and the Stables and it is right there on the right. This item spawns and it can spawn behind the counter the man is standing at, on the table, or floor by the table, to the right or left when you come in, at the top of stairs, on, or next to, any of the crates upstairs and on the table upstairs. I have also gotten it outside behind the girl handing out the samples or whatever she is doing. Once you have your jug of wine you will need to cook up 4 Northern Stew, with your cooking skill, which requires 4 pieces of Chilled Meat. This is why it's always a good idea to have some meat on hand. I have stacks of different kinds of meat in the bank, a full guild tab, but I am a packrat so you can't really go by me. It is a good idea to have Chilled Meat and Rhino Meat on hand for the daily cooking.

Once you have your 4 Northern Stew and jug of wine you deliver it to Arille Azuregaze, (48,38) the bartender at The Legerdemain. He gives you 9g93s, at least one Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag that can contain any, or all, of the following:

Northern Spices
Old Spices
Baby Spice
Dalaran Cooking Award
And if you don't have it, Recipe: Delicious Chocolate Cake. (This is a rare drop, 1.7%)

This is another easy quest, remember to keep some Rhino Meat and Chilled Meat on hand, it makes these daily's go so much quicker.

Good Luck :)

Mustard Dogs!

Today's daily cooking quest in Dalaran was Mustard Dogs!. As usual I did this on both Wranngar and Gomorra as soon as I got on.

This isn't a difficult quest but it can take awhile to get the 4 pieces of Wild Mustard you need if everyone is trying to do it at once, which usually seems to be the case. The Wild Mustard can be found growing in any of the grassy areas around Dalaran. They are small, yellow and, I think, hard to see. They are definitely hard to target. One area that seems to get overlooked is the grassy area around the flight point at Krasus' Landing. I usually have good luck there getting one or two. Another place is that little park place with the benches in the center of town. I also have good luck over in the corner by the Magus Commerce Exchange where you can go down into the Underbelly.

Once you have your 4 pieces of Wild Mustard you will need to combine them with 4 Rhino Dogs to make a Mustard Dog Basket!. You do this by right clicking on the supplied Empty Picnic Basket when you have the 4 Rhino Dogs and 4 Wild Mustard in your inventory. Once you have your Mustard Dog Basket in hand you can deliver it to Archmage Pentarus at Krasus' Landing for 9g93s, at least one Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag that can contain any, or all, of the following:

Northern Spices
Old Spices
Baby Spice
Dalaran Cooking Award
And if you don't have it, Recipe: Delicious Chocolate Cake. (This is a rare drop, 1.7%)

Remember to keep some Rhino Meat and Chilled Meat on hand, it makes these daily's go so much quicker.

Good Luck :)

Monsterbelly Appetite

We finally had a different daily for the daily fishing quest in Dalaran! Today Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, had Monsterbelly Appetite for me. For this one you have to go and recover a fisherman's arm that was eaten by a Deep Sea Monsterbelly. The way you go about doing this is to catch Deep Sea Monsterbelly's until you catch a Bloated Monsterbelly. When you cut that open (loot it) you find the 'fisherman's arm'.

The Deep Sea Monsterbelly's can be found right off shore in Borean Tundra. Fly into Unu'pe then fly out to sea heading southeast. You can see some icebergs offshore and that is where you want to fish around. For those of you with coordinates it is around 30,66. You need 480+ fishing skill to catch the Monsterbelly's. They will be found in schools. If you have the 'fine art of fish finding' it is a lot easier because you can identify the schools on your mini map before you fly over to them. They are mixed in with Moonglow Cuttlefish schools so you can waste a little time checking out the wrong schools if you don't have gift of fish finding.

I got my Bloated Monsterbelly, which gave up the 'fisherman's arm', on the first cast on Gomorra and the second cast on Wranngar.

This quest does not get handed back in to the quest giver Marcia Chase, it get's handed in to Olisarra the Kind, the Grand Master First Aid Trainer in the Magus Commerce Exchange (36,37) in Dalaran. She is going to attempt to reunite the arm with the fisherman.

I turned the 'arms' in for a couple Bags of Fishing Treasures. Gom's had 8g55s60c, 5 Pygmy Oil, 3 Deviate Fish and 2 Worthless Pieces of Red Glass. Just to let you know how worthless they really are, I sold both of them to a vendor for a total of 10 copper. You take the good with the bad :). Still some good rewards to be had from this daily, I am looking forward to seeing what else I get. Wrann's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 8g19s39c, 4 Pygmy Oil and 5 Solid Gold Coins which I sold to a vendor for 5 gold. Now that was worth walking over to the vendor for. It only makes sense that a Solid Gold Coin would be worth a gold.

Yesterday I saw someone with a Jeweled Fishing Pole. It is one of the rewards you can get from the daily fishing quest in Dalaran and it's just what it sounds like, a fishing pole with jewels on it. It looks cool, and gives +30 to fishing skill, but it's definitely a chick pole. I'm not giving up my Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole for it but I still want one just to add to my collection. Here is a screen shot of one I got off Thottbot.

Daily Quests 4/22/09

I did a bunch of daily's today, I finally got Gomorra doing all of the daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade. It was really stupid to be honest, I went over to one side of the Shadow Vault I hadn't been over to lately and saw a ?. It was from a quest I had finished but didn't turn in. I turned it in and it opened up Shoot 'Em Up as well as sending me over to Death's Rise to do a couple quests to start all those daily's, From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone and Intelligence Gathering, which I did in it's entirety tonight on Gomorra. I also did Shoot 'Em Up, Leave Our Mark and Vile Like Fire! at the Shadow Vault. I did all those on Wranngar too. Don't make the same mistake I did, pay attention :). I am starting to make some good gold now and send at least 500g a day to the bank.

I did all my daily's for The Sons of Hodir on both of them after that. It didn't take too long tonight, there didn't seem to be too many people doing it. I did Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter and Feeding Arngrim. I get some pretty good gold for doing these too. I think Feeding Arngrim is the easiest out of all of them. I haven't had any trouble with anyone stealing my smoldering scraps lately either. I always make sure I have at least 6 Essence of Ice before I do it, I only need 5. Blowing Hodir's Horn is a pretty quick and easy one too if not too many people are there trying to do it at the same time. It's on the other side I get all my leather and meat, in the Valley of Ancient Winters. That is where the Mammoths and Roaming Worms are. I get Leather, Mammoth Meat and Worm Meat from those.

The daily fishing quest from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran was, no surprise, Blood Is Thicker. I headed over to Unu'pe, flew inland and killed a Marsh Caribou then flew back to the shore and jumped in, making a blood pool. I fished in the blood pool until I caught 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy then headed back to Dalaran to turn it in. Gomorra's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 7g80s84c, 3 Elixirs of Water Walking, 4 Deviate Fish and a Tower Key which I sold to a vendor for 16g66s66c. Not sure what point they are trying to get across there. Wranngar's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 10g55s83c, 2 Northsea Pearls, 2 Solid Gold Coins which I sold to a vendor for 1g each, and 2 Deviate Fish. A pretty decent haul for both today I guess.

The daily cooking was Cheese for Glowergold, my least favorite. I only did it on Gomorra. When I went to do it on Wranngar I couldn't find any Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses anywhere so I gave up. I hate doing that one anyway. Gomorra collected his glasses then went to the wine and cheese shop, One More Glass, and got a piece of Aged Dalaran Limburger. He combined those onto the platter and delivered it to Ranid Glowergold at the Leatherworkers in the Magus Commerce Exchange. Glowergold gave him 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award, which might have given me 3, I forgot to check, and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices and 4 Old Spices in it. Not the best haul but I have had worse.

Blood Is Thicker 4/21/09

The daily fishing quest from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was Blood Is Thicker again... This doesn't surprise me. It is not because nothing in The World of Warcraft surprises me anymore, it is because the daily cooking and fishing quests, where you can get different quests, get stuck on the same quest for days at a time. This is not unusual and anyone who does them regularly just deals with it and hopes it doesn't get stuck on the worst one lol.

Here is how I do this one. I fly to the flight path in Unu'pe then head inland until I am just past the snow belt, around 76,43. For those without coords, just fly straight inland from the flight path until you get past the snow and look for a Marsh Caribou to kill. Killing one will cover you in blood for 3 minutes. (Today not only was I covered in blood, my Magnificent Flying Carpet was too. I don't even want to think about the dry cleaning bill for that.) Fly straight back to the shore and jump in the water around 79,51. This will create a blood pool and also remove the blood from you. All you have to do after that is fish the blood pool until you have 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy. This usually takes 2 casts as you get 2 or 3 a cast, usually 3. Head back to Dalaran and turn it in to Marcia Chase for your Bag of Fishing Treasures.

Today Gomorra got 9g89s12c, 3 Pygmy Oil and a Diamond-tipped Cane in his Bag of Fishing Treasures. For some reason Diamond-tipped Cane goes for around 120 gold on the auction house so I will auction that off. Wranngar's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 6g8s77c, 2 Elixirs of Water Walking, 4 Deviate Fish and a Worthless Piece of Orange Glass in it. Worthless is the key word in Worthless Piece of Orange Glass, I got 5c for it from a vendor. Not a great return but not a bad one, Gom got the Diamond-tipped Cane and that will bring in some gold.

I would really like to see what the other quests for this are but I guess I will have to wait until Blizzard gets their act together.

Sons of Hodir Daily's 4/21/09

I did my daily's for The Sons of Hodir on Gomorra but skipped them on Wranngar. Between the new patch, 3.1.1, being installed, then the problems they had and the late start, I got started pretty late. I also did a bunch of fishing on Gomorra and got his fishing skill to 398 so it was worth it. I did my usual daily's for The Sons of Hodir, Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter and Feeding Arngrim. These went really quick tonight, I think it was because I did them as soon as I was able to log on and there weren't too many people on yet. For anyone who is wondering how to unlock the daily's for The Sons of Hodir check out this earlier post: Unlocking The Sons of Hodir Daily's. It has all the information you need to unlock the daily's.

The daily cooking quest in Dalaran today was Convention at the Legerdemain again, no big surprise there. I ran over to the wine and cheese shop, One More Glass, and got my jug of wine, then cooked up some Northern Stew and delivered it to Arille Azuregaze, the bartender at The Legerdemain. He gave Gomorra 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices and 5 Baby Spice in it. Sad to say this is about the best return Gom has had on this quest all week. Wranngar got 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 5 Northern Spices and 5 Baby Spice in it. This was Wrann's best return all week too.

Black Jelly

Patch 3.1.0 brought us a new recipe, Black Jelly. It is a pretty nice recipe for a non-buff food recipe, it restores 18,000 health and 15,000 mana in 30 seconds. It requires 400 cooking skill to learn and takes 3 Borean Man O' War per piece. If you're Alliance you can learn this from Katherine Lee (41,65), in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome in Dalaran. If you're Horde you can learn it from Awilo Lon'gomba (70,38), inside The Filthy Animal next to Krasus' Landing in Dalaran. You can also learn it from any other Grand Master Cooking Trainer. The cost of training is 5 gold.

Today I decided to go out and fish up some Borean Man O' War on Gomorra. I chose Gomorra instead of Wranngar because Wranngar's fishing skill is already 450 while Gomorra's is still under 400. To find these I turned on fish tracking/finding so the schools of fish would show up on my mini map, then flew along the coast of Borean Tundra. They're called Borean Man O' War for a reason lol. There are a lot less schools of them than I remember, probably a result of Patch 3.1.0 and the new recipe, but I did manage to catch 54 in a relatively short time. I already had 6 in the bank so that gave me 60, enough for one stack. I cooked up the Black Jelly for Gomorra which he will use sparingly.

That is about all the advice I have for catching the Borean Man O' War. If you don't have fish tracking/finding you will have to look for the schools which is a little harder but not impossible, I used to do it all the time on Gomorra before I got my Weather-Beaten Journal.

The Sons of Hodir 4/20/09

I did most of my daily's on both Gomorra and Wranngar today. Of course I did the daily cooking, I did that first thing as usual. Today it was Convention at the Legerdemain, one of the easier, quicker ones. What I had to do for this was go to the Wine and Cheese shop, One More Glass, and get a Jug of Wine. Once I had that all I had to do was cook up 4 Northern Stew and deliver it to Arille Azuregaze, the bartender at The Legerdemain. He gave Gomorra 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices in it. Gom wasn't happy. Wranngar got 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 5 Northern Spices in it. He was a little less disappointed.

I did the daily fishing quest in Northrend for the second time today. Once again it was Blood Is Thicker, why didn't that surprise me? I picked this up from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran. I headed out to Unu'pe in Borean Tundra, flew inland until I was past the snow belt, and killed a Marsh Caribou so I could be covered in blood. The Druids don't approve of this but I don't care, what have the Druids done for me lately? I flew back to the shore and jumped in the water, making a blood pool. Then all I had to do was fish it. I had one Bloodtooth Frenzy left on both Wranngar and Gomorra so I only needed 4 more. It took me 2 casts again today to get all the Bloodtooth Frenzy I needed, then I flew back to Dalaran to turn it in. I didn't make out as good today as I did yesterday but that is to be expected, that was a rare day. When Gomorra turned in, his Bag of Fishing Treasures had 6g43s57c, a Glow Worm which is really nice as it adds +100 to fishing skill for an hour instead of 10 minutes like Sharpened Fish Hook, and a Battered Jungle Hat. I see people wanting to buy Battered Jungle Hat in trade all the time so I looked it up. It goes for about 350 gold on the auction house on average. Wranngar's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 7g50s48c, a Glow Worm, 3 Worthless Pieces of Red Glass and 2 Deviate Fish. I can't wait to see what else this daily has for rewards :).

I did my daily's for The Sons of Hodir on both after that. They both do Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter and Feeding Arngrim. This takes me anywhere from 20 minutes on each to a half hour depending on how many people are doing it and how much farming I do. I am Exalted on Wranngar so he sends all his Relics of Ulduar to Gomorra who uses them for rep with The Sons of Hodir. If you are interested in becoming Exalted with The Sons of Hodir but don't know how to go about doing it, check out this post: Unlocking The Sons of Hodir Daily's. Wranngar stopped off on his way there to do Overstock, a quick easy quest at K3 in the Storm Peaks that pays around 13 gold.

I did my 2 daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade on Gomorra, Leave Our Mark and Vile Like Fire! but only did those 2 plus From Their Corpses, Rise! and No Fly Zone on Wranngar. I just didn't have time to do all of them so I picked the quickest and least aggravating. I got on kind of late tonight and will try to do all my daily's tomorrow.

Gomorra had time to make his Ebonweave Robe tonight, he was pretty happy about that. It has some decent stats and upped his spell power as well as his stamina and intellect. It was a pretty nice boost for him. He is starting to get geared and now his Tailoring is up to 441, the same as Wranngar's Leatherworking.

Northrend Daily's 4/19/09

I did my daily's tonight on Wranngar and Gomorra. As usual I did the daily cooking first. Today it was Sewer Stew so I was off to Crystalsong Forest. I got all the Crystalsong Carrots I needed as fast as I could run around and pick them, there was no one there. I flew back to Dalaran and cooked them up with some Chilled Meat which makes Sewer Stew. I delivered them to Ajay Green at the Cantrips and Crows Tavern in the Underbelly and he gave Gomorra 9g93s, 2 Dalaran Cooking Awards and a Small Spice Bag with 5 Northern Spices in it. Not a bad haul for Gom today. Wranngar got 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices, 4 Old Spices and 3 Baby Spice. Not a bad haul for Wrann either.

Afterwards I did my daily's for The Sons of Hodir. Both Wranngar and Gomorra do Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter and Feeding Arngrim. While I was doing Hot and Cold a Horde player threw one of his Essences of Ice onto a node I was standing right next to. He just stood there and waited for me to take it. I thought about it but then just walked away. If I had just outright ninja'd it I would have been no better than the rest that do that. If I had gotten one ninja'd from me that day I probably would have but I didn't so I let it go. I wonder what he would have done if the roles were reversed? These daily's take me about 20-25 minutes each depending on how many people are doing them. As usual I stopped off at K3 in the Storm Peaks on Wranngar to do Overstock. That only took me a couple minutes and I was on my way again, 13 gold richer.

I did my daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade after that. I do Leave Our Mark and Vile Like Fire! on Gomorra and those two plus From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone, Shoot 'Em Up and Intelligence Gathering on Wranngar. I only turn in Intelligence Gathering when I have enough documents, usually once a week or so. It can take you as long to get all 5 documents as it does to do all the other quests combined so I just collect them until I have enough to turn in.

I made another piece of Moonshroud and 2 more pieces of Ebonweave tonight on Gomorra. He is one piece away from making his Ebonweave Robe. I sent the materials to a friend, Aldure, and he is going to make my last piece so I don't have to wait 4 days to make more. Tomorrow I will make my robe :).

Northrend Daily Fishing Quest

I found the daily fishing quest in Dalaran today. It came out with the 3.1 patch. You pick it up from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran. Today I got Blood Is Thicker. What you have to do for this is, go to Borean Tundra and kill something the Druids don't approve of you killing, then while covered in blood, jump into the water to make a blood pool to attract Bloodtooth Frenzy.

This what I did. I flew to Unu'pe in Borean Tundra, then flew inland until I was off the snow belt. I killed the first animal I saw (Stag or Antelope or something) then flew back to Unu'pe and jumped into the water. I fished the blood pool and was done in two casts, I got 3 Bloodtooth Frenzy on each cast. I flew back to Dalaran and handed it in. The reward is a Bag of Fishing Treasures just like the Outlands daily fishing from Old Man Barlo.

Gomorra's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 8g9s87c, 2 Elixirs of Water Walking and 2 Crafted Stars in it. Not knowing what to expect I thought that was ok, especially as I can really use the Elixirs.

Wranngar's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 8g42s14c, a Whale Statue, 2 Deviate Fish and (Are you ready for this?) a Solid Stormjewel. An epic BoE jewel on his first daily fishing quest in Northrend with an auction house value around 715 gold :). Not a bad return for him at all. I sold the Whale Statue to a vendor for 11 gold.

Needless to say I will be doing this daily on both every day.

Northrend Daily's 4/18/09

The first thing I usually do when I log on is the daily cooking in Dalaran on both Wranngar and Gomorra. Today was no exception. The daily today was Sewer Stew so I was off to Crystalsong Forest to pick some Crystalsong Carrots. These are located right under Dalaran in Crystalsong Forest. You can't miss them, they look like giant carrots sticking out of the ground. If you are level 75 or higher, and you would have to be to be doing the daily cooking, you probably have seen them in Grizzly Hills when you did a quest to capture horses. They look just like those. Anyway I got the 4 I needed on both and cooked them up with some Chilled Meat to make Vegetable Stew. I delivered that to my Innkeeper down in the sewers and he gave Gomorra 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices in it. Yeah, Gomorra got screwed on this one today. Wranngar got 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 2 Northern Spices and 4 Old Spices in it, he wasn't any happier.

I did some fishing tonight on Gomorra and got his fishing up to 390 :). I needed to catch some Imperial Manta Ray so I could cook up the recipe Gomorra got yesterday, Recipe: Imperial Manta Steak. I also decided to catch some Glacial Salmon too so I could cook up some Firecracker Salmon. I ended up with a lot of buff food and 450 cooking skill :). Gomorra still has a lot of recipes to get and learn but it is a downhill battle now lol.

I did all my Northrend daily's on Gomorra tonight, The Sons of Hodir and the Knights of the Ebon Blade, but I didn't do them on Wranngar because I wanted to get some fishing done on Gomorra.

I did a couple of Alterac Valley battles on Wranngar, trying to get the daily battleground done, but we lost both. It was pretty sad. The first battle I was in I got in about 3/4 of the way through. It was pretty much a turtle at that point but I headed out anyway and ended up at Galv. There was me, a Warlock and a Priest there taking on Galv. It started off with the Lock using his Void Walker to tank him but I took over when the Void lost aggro and Glav went after the Lock. While tanking Glav I also killed a Paladin and Hunter that showed up. They were very poorly geared as were all the other Horde I encountered which made the turtle and loss even sadder. I would have easily had Galv down if Horde didn't keep showing up but eventually between the Priest running out of Mana and the Horde and Galv beating up on me I died. As we had no forward graveyards I rezzed in Dun Baldar and spent the rest of the battle farming kills. In the second battle pretty much everyone who wasn't AFK went right to Dun Baldar for the Turtle. Right from the cave to Dun Baldar..... This tells you the quality of the players these days. The few of us that didn't turtle at the start made it all the way to Forstwolf Keep taking IBGY and Frostwolf Graveyard on the way. No one got the towers. The Horde killed Vann just as we were entering Frostwolf Keep. I gave up after that, it was obvious we would not be winning an AV tonight with the quality of players on hand.

I did a couple Eye of the Storm battles on Wranngar after the Alterac Valley fiasco, one win, one loss. I got in really late in the first battle which we were losing to a 4 cap. At least it was over fast. In the second battle we did a lot better though not though any smart playing. BET was left unguarded most of the battle, I was the only one guarding Dranei Ruins, and everyone seemed to think the flag was more important than defending the towers. One thing I got a real laugh about was this Rogue who kept coming to DR. I killed him 3 times and the 3rd time I killed him he was carrying the flag LMAO. I'm not sure why he ran right to me with the flag but I killed him and capped it :). The other 2 times he sapped me, which I removed with my Insignia of the Alliance, and then put Farie Fire on him so he couldn't stealth. Naturally he dispelled it so I put it on him again. He can only dispel it once so the second time he was screwed. A Rogue that can't stealth is a dead Rogue. Stealthing and running way is all they got lol. He was a very easy kill, even for a Rogue, obviously very poorly geared.

Northrend Daily's 4/17/09

I did most of my daily's on Wranngar and Gomorra today. The first one I did was the daily cooking. It was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf so I was off to the sewers in search of the elusive Infused Mushroom. It didn't take me too too long to get the 4 I needed on each so I cooked them up with some Chilled Meat to make a couple Infused Mushroom Meatloafs. Once I had those I delivered them to Orton Bennet at Curiosities and Moore. He gave Gomorra 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 2 Northern Spices and 4 Old Spices in it. Wranngar got a Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices and 3 Baby Spice in it. Not really a great haul on either today.

I did my daily's for The Sons of Hodir on both after that. Those don't take me too long and make me some decent gold. I stopped off at the Storm Peaks on Wranngar on the way there to do Overstock. Some people don't think this quest is worth it but 13 gold for a couple minutes work seems worth it to me. Both Gomorra and Wranngar are doing Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter and Feeding Arngrim for The Sons of Hodir. Neither one of them are doing Thrusting Hodir's Spear because I decided, after a couple tries, that it just isn't worth it. Wranngar became exalted with them a couple days ago and now he's just doing them for the gold. Gomorra is revered with them.

I did my daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade on Gomorra after that. I skipped them on Wranngar because I just didn't have enough time and he is already exalted so he is only doing them for the gold. Gomorra only does a couple of them so it goes pretty quick. He does Leave Our Mark and Vile Like Fire!. Those two take him less than 10 minutes to complete.

At Friendly you can do the following daily's:
Blowing Hodir's Horn - (+250 Rep)
Hot and Cold - (+250 Rep)
Polishing the Helm - (+250 Rep)

At Honored you can add these daily's:
Spy Hunter - (+350 Rep)
Thrusting Hodir's Spear - (+500 Rep)

At Revered you can pick up this daily:
Feeding Arngrim - (+350 Rep)

I hope this was helpful.

Good Luck :)

The Sons of Hodir - Exalted

The Sons of Hodir Exalted 4/16/09

I didn't have a whole lot of time tonight so I did my daily's for The Sons of Hodir on Wranngar. He was so close to becoming exalted all I needed to do was one more night. I actually handed in all my quests then became exalted when I handed in my relics. It was close. Wranngar is not really the one that needed to become exalted with them, Gomorra is because he needs Pattern: Glacial Bag, a 22 slot bag, for his Tailoring. I got Greater Inscription of the Axe for Wranngar, and this opens up the door to get the Reins of the Ice Mammoth for 800 gold and Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth for 8,000 gold. Naturally I did Overstock on my way to do my daily's for The Sons of Hodir, this is a really fast, really easy quest that pays around 13 gold. I would be crazy to skip it. I was reading up on this quest and seeing what people had to say on Thottbot and some people were saying "Why would anyone waste their time on this, there is no rep?". I'll tell you why I waste my time on it, it is a really fast, really easy quest that pays around 13 gold. What more reason do I need?

I did have enough time to do the daily cooking in Dalaran on both characters. Today it was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf so I was off to the sewers to pick some Infused Mushrooms. It didn't take too long before I was cooking them up with some Chilled Meat to make my meatloaf's. I delivered those to Orton Bennet at Curiosities and Moore and he gave Gomorra 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices and 5 Old Spices in it. Wranngar got 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 2 Northern Spices in it. I'm not sure what Orton has against Wranngar but he seems to like Gomorra more. Once again I saved my award on Wranngar towards the purchase of a Chef's Hat for the cooking achievement. 100 Dalaran Cooking Awards to get that :(. That's a lot of Northern Spices.

Northrend 4/15/09

I got Wranngar and Gomorra all spec'd up again tonight. I hate it when they refund all your points, it seems like when I finally get them they way I like them they refund all your points. Anyway they are both spec'd again and life goes on.

I did the daily cooking first thing tonight. It was Sewer Stew so I headed down to Crystalsong Forest to pick some Crystalsong Carrots. I needed 4 on each. Once I had those I grabbed some Chilled Meat out of the guild bank, cooked up some Vegetable Stew and delivered it to my innkeeper, Ajay Green at the Cantrips and Crows Tavern in the Underbelly. He gave Gomorra 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 2 Northern Spices in it. Hardly worth getting out of bed for Gomorra. Wranngar got a Dalaran Cooking Award, a Small Spice Bag with 5 Northern Spices and 4 Old Spices in it and 9g93s. A much better day for him than Gomorra. For a change I didn't spend my award on more Northern Spices, I hung onto it instead. They now have a chef hat you can buy for 100 awards. I saw the price and decided not to get it until I saw they made it part of the cooking achievements. I want to get all the cooking achievements done so I will have to buy one now...

I did my daily's for The Sons of Hodir on both tonight. They are both doing all the same quests now that Gomorra is revered with them. I do them on one then I go back and do them on the other, it's not boring, really..... anyway I did them all, Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter and Feeding Arngrim. These take me 25-30 minutes on each, and I make about 66 gold on each, so it's not too bad. Wranngar also did Overstock in the Storm Peaks on his way there, a quick easy quest that pays around 13 gold.

I did my Knights of the Ebon Blade daily's after that, Gomorra is doing Leave Our Mark and Vile Like Fire! while Wranngar does those 2 plus From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone, Shoot 'Em Up and Intelligence Gathering. I actually got the last documents I needed for Intelligence Gathering and turned that in tonight too. Wranngar is exalted with them but Gomorra is only friendly. I will look around and see if there are any more quests I can do for them on Gomorra to get more rep.

I made a couple pieces of cloth on Gomorra tonight, my cooldown was up on Ebonweave and Moonshroud so I made 2 pieces of Ebonweave and one piece of Moonshroud. I can make 2 pieces of Ebonweave at a time because I am a Shadow Tailor.

Update 4/14/09

I was able to get on long enough after downloading the patch to do the daily cooking quest on Gomorra. I printed out his talents yesterday in anticipation of getting all my talent points reimbursed but didn't print out Wranngar's for some reason unknown even to myself so I am not going to log onto him until I can get those printed out. It makes it so much easier when you have something to follow.

The daily cooking today was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf again so I got all the things I needed and cooked some up. When I delivered it I got a Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices in it. Not a bad return I guess. Gomorra got a new recipe today, Poached Nettlefish, with his awards and also purchased the recipe for Black Jelly from the cooking trainer in Dalaran for 5 gold. This is a pretty nice recipe for a non-buff food, it restores 18,000 health and 15,000 mana in 30 seconds. He whipped up a batch of those just to have them on hand. Wranngar will pick it up too when he gets on.

Patch 3.1.0

I spent almost all my available play time downloading the new patch tonight, hopefully it will be worth it :). There are a lot of new changes so it should be. I am looking forward to dual specing Gomorra. He is currently a Master Demonologist and his second spec will be Destruction. I leveled Gomorra from level 1 to 70 as Destruction and really liked it but changed him to Demonology after I hit level 70 just to try it out. I always thought that Demonology was useless because if you lose your minion you got nothing, but once I switched to check it out I didn't want to go back. His other option is Affliction. I have come across Affliction Warlocks in the battleground and if you have enough health to wait out their spells while you kill them they are not a problem. In the past both Gomorra and Wranngar have had enough health and Wranngar can dispel most spells and poisons.

Wranngar is spec'd Feral. My other options for a dual spec are Balance and Restoration. I do enough casting on Gomorra so I don't really want to go Balance. Restoration is for healing and the only place I would use that is in the battlegrounds. Most of the people I see in the battlegrounds are, in my opinion, too stupid to live so why would I encourage them by healing them? It is best that they are put out of their misery as soon as possible. I am going to look into having a second Feral spec for tanking if I ever decide to do instances on him, but Gomorra is the one I am currently planning on doing instances with and keeping Wranngar in the battlegrounds where he does best.

Manual: Heavy Frostweave Bandage 4/13/09

Gomorra finally had Manual: Heavy Frostweave Bandage drop for him tonight. I had been wondering if it would ever drop, then after it did I did some thinking which I am prone to do on occasion. I leveled Gomorra's First Aid skill to 399 yesterday (In an attempt to get to 400) so I could use Heavy Frostweave Bandages, even if I couldn't make them, and I wondered if that had anything to do with it finally dropping. I went to Thottbot and did some reading and the general opinion seems to be that you have to have First Aid Skill of 390 or higher to get it to drop. That makes sense as I had been killing these same mobs for weeks without it dropping. I have heard people say that it only drops off dungeon mobs but I knew that wasn't true because it dropped for Wranngar outside a dungeon, in Zul'Drak around level 74, but he had 400 First Aid Skill at the time.

From what everyone is saying, if you have 390, or higher, First Aid Skill and you go to Rageclaw Den around 33,64, which is South of Light's Breach in Zul'drak, there is a pretty high drop rate for it, around 20%. This is a BoP book so the only way you are going to get it is if it drops for you. Because I now have it on both my characters that are in Northrend I will have to wait until I get my Deathknight Wrangar out there to see if the drop rate is really that high. If anyone heads out there after reading this post and gets it to drop, or has had it drop there, let us know how it worked out for you.

Infused Mushroom Meatloaf 4/13/09

Today's daily cooking in Dalaran was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf. This is a pretty easy quest any way you look at it. How long it takes is dependent on how many people are trying to do it at the same time. All you have to do is head down into the sewers (Underbelly) and pick 4 Infused Mushrooms. This can go really fast if no one to a couple people are doing it, it can take quite awhile if everyone is trying to do it. Today there weren't too many people trying to do it so it went pretty quick. I picked my Infused Mushroom's, cooked them up with a couple Chilled Meat and delivered my Meatloaf's to Orton Bennet at Curiosities and Moore. He gave Gomorra 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 4 Northern Spices in it. Not a bad return for Gomorra. Wranngar got 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a with 3 Small Spice BagNorthern Spices in it. Not a bad return for Wranngar either. As usual I spent Wranngar's award on Northern Spices for the guild bank.

Gomorra went and saw The Rokk, (61,15) in Shattrath, to see what he had today, but all he had for me was Manalicious which I already did. I am only doing these Shattrath daily cooking quests for the achievement, Kickin' It Up a Notch. There are 4 of them, I might have mistakenly reported 5 earlier, and I have 2 done. The sad part is I did this daily for over a year and didn't get any credit at all for it... I also have to cook all the Outlands recipes that I have cooked so many times before because I don't have credit for any of those either.

The Sons of Hodir daily's went pretty quick on both today. Of course on my way there on Wranngar I stopped off at K3 in the Storm Peaks and did Overstock. This is an easy daily that only takes a few minutes and pays around 13 gold. I try to never skip it. I need to doa couple more quests there before I can start doing it on Gomorra. I did all my usual daily's for The Sons of Hodir on Gomorra and Wranngar, Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm and Spy Hunter plus Feeding Arngrim on Wranngar. Gomorra became revered today, so tomorrow he will also start doing Feeding Arngrim. I am starting to make some pretty good gold every day off daily's.

My daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade went pretty quick today too, all in all it was a pretty quick day for daily's. Of couse I am only doing 2 on Gomorra, Leave Our Mark and Vile Like Fire!. Wranngar does those plus From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone, Shoot 'Em Up and Intelligence Gathering. I still didn't have enough Onslaught Intel Documents to turn in Intelligence Gathering today, I usually turn this one in every 5 days to a week or so. I don't go out of my way to get these documents because they can take as long to get as it takes to do the other 2 quests combined.
