Thunder Falls

Thunder Falls is one of the new daily fishing quests you can get from Catherine Leland (55,69) who is located on a dock in the canals in Stormwind. For those without coords it is the dock between Trade District and Mage District.

Description:

Arnold and I have been fishing in and around Stormwind for years now. That's the kind of time it takes to find a good fishing spot. One of my favorites is called Thunder Falls.

It's just south of Stormwind in Elwynn Forest. Best part about Thunder Falls is the violet perch. I have never seen them anywhere else, only up there in at the falls. It's a bit of hike for m
e and Arnold to get out there these days though, do you think you could head up there and fetch some of those perch for us?

For this one all you need to do is head over to Thunder Falls (25,59) in Elwynn Forest. They are located just a little southwest of the gate to Stormwind. You want to go to the top of the falls to fish. There are some low level mobs there that might take offense to you being there but as they are only level 9 or so they are not a problem. There is a better than 50% catch rate so it only takes 5 or 6 casts to get the 4 Violet Perch you need.

Once you have those you can head back to Catherine Leland and turn them in for 7g40s and a Bag of Shiny Things, which so far has just had useless junk and an average of 1 silver in it. You will also get +1 to fishing skill which makes this quest worth it right there as you need to catch around a dozen fish to get one skill point in fishing when you are over 450 fishing skill.

Good Luck,

-Wrann

Restored Items 9/8/09

I spent some time today getting the restored items out of the mail on Wranngar and putting them in the bank, some in the guild bank. It looks like they restored some of the stuff that was taken out of the guild bank too. I finally got it all out of the mail and put away, now I just have to do it on all my other characters. I haven't played in a week and really don't feel like playing. I will get all the other stuff put away before it disappears out of my mail then decide what I want to do. They did not restore the gold that was taken from the guild bank so I am out that 1500 gold.

This whole event has just disgusted me especially the fact that blizzard said I must have a key logger on my system. If I had a key logger on my system they would not have had to have my password reset. Also when they were restoring my account they thanked me for my patience as it was taking a long time due to the number of hacked accounts. You can go on YouTube and there are videos that tell you exactly how to hack an account. You can send a script to their auto-responder password reset bot that will send you the new password for any account, which is what I am sure happened with me, so there is really no way to make your account safe when Blizzard has such poor security measures in place. There is a step by step video that even gives you the script on YouTube. It has really turned me away from the game, I guess it might be time for something else. It's no wonder they are losing players left and right.

Blowing Hodir's Horn

Blowing Hodir's Horn is a daily which earns rep with The Sons of Hodir. You need to be friendly with The Sons of Hodir to be able to pick up this quest. If you are not yet friendly with The Sons of Hodir check out this post Unlocking The Sons of Hodir Daily's which will tell you how to get there.

You pick this quest up from Hodir's Horn in Dun Niffelem. You are given Hodir's Horn to use to complete this quest. The objective of this quest is to defeat 5 Niffelem Forefathers and 5 Restless Frostborn at Thunderfall, then blow Hodir's Horn over their corpses.

Thunderfall (71,49) is located northeast of where you pick up the quest in Dun Niffelem. You can't miss the Niffelem Forefathers, they are the giants walking around. The Restless Frostborn are the little guys walking around. The Restless Forstborn can be a pain as there are a lot of them and they are everywhere, you won't have any problem getting 5 of them. The giants are easy to pick out but, depending on how many people are doing it, it can take a little while to get 5.

Once you have killed either a Niffelem Forefather or Restless Forstborn you need to target the corpse then right click on Hodir's Horn in your inventory. Make sure to loot BEFORE you blow the horn as the corpse will disappear as soon as you blow it. You will see the spirit rise into the air and you will get credit for releasing one. I have one spot in my action bar that is hot keyed to my ` key and I put whatever quest item I need for the quest I am working on in it, it saves a lot of time.

Once you have credit for 5 of each you head back to Hodir's Horn and turn it in. This daily pays 13g23s and gives 250 rep with The Sons of Hodir. This is an easy quest and goes pretty quick when there are not a lot of people trying to do it at once. I live in the US and play on an Oceanic server so it is usually not too populated when I am on, this makes for less competition on the daily items.

Good Luck :)

Glacial Bag

I finally decided to get off my butt and level Gomorra's Tailoring to 445 so I could buy Pattern: Glacial Bag from The Sons of Hodir. This is a pattern for a 22 slot bag. You have to be exalted to buy the pattern from them and 445 Tailoring skill to learn it. It was only 4 gold to buy it but I hadn't yet because my Tailoring was only 442. I had to make 2 pairs of Ebonweave Gloves and a 20 slot bag to get the 3 points I needed. Once I had my Tailoring to 445 I flew over to The Sons of Hodir and picked it up. Unfortunately I had to use 8 pieces of my Ebonweave to make the gloves, which I am not too happy about, but I can make 2 more pieces in a couple days. If I hadn't used the Ebonweave I could have made Gomorra's first (22 slot) Glacial Bag tonight.

I also picked up Pattern: Abyssal Bag from the Knights of the Ebon Blade tonight. This is a 32 slot soul bag for Warlocks. I was looking at Tailoring on Thottbot the other day and saw a few patterns I could get but didn't have yet for some reason. This was one of them, it requires revered with the Knights of the Ebon Blade to purchase. It cost me 4 gold to buy this one. You need to have 435 Tailoring to learn this pattern.

I got Pattern: Emerald Bag from The Kalu'ak tonight too lol. Yeah I was really slacking on Gomorra. You must be revered with The Kalu'ak to purchase this and the cost is 4 gold. I got all the Leatherworking patterns on Wranngar as soon as they were available but didn't bother on Gomorra for some reason, probably sick of it all by the second time around. Anyway this is a 32 slot Herb bag, you need to have 435 Tailoring to learn this pattern.

Brieanna 5/11/09

I worked a little on my 36 hunter, Brieanna, tonight. I bet a lot of you didn't even know I had a hunter. I wouldn't be surprised, I haven't played her in quite a while. The first thing I did was get her upgraded to 20 slot bags and a 28 slot Leatherworking bag. Now that she has a little room I can quest and breath easy. I got bank slots for the 16 slot bags she used to have. You can never have too many bank slots.

I noticed she was thrown out of the guild she was in, I don't even remember the name of it lol. I will get her into BlackMoor Coven the next time Salintu is on.

I did a little bit of questing in Stranglethorn Vale. Well, not so much questing as getting used to playing her again. My Wolf was in a good mood until he realized I had thrown out all his food when I was re-arranging my bags, changed his whole outlook. He got to eat buff food after that so he got over it. I will try to play this one a little more often and see if I can get her leveled up.

I still have my Deathknight, Wrangar, to level too but he is in a part of Blades Edge Mountains that I am not really too fond of questing in. I will need to level him there before I can move on to Netherstorm.

Daily's 5/11/09

Today I was able to do the daily cooking and fishing at the same time. Kind of. The daily cooking today, from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, was Sewer Stew.

I took the portal or crystal or whatever you call it that you take down to Crystalsong Forest, then headed over and picked my Crystalsong Carrots. I made sure I grabbed 4 Chilled Meat from the guild bank before I left so I was able to make a fire and cook up my Vegetable Stew when I had my 4 carrots on Wranngar and Gomorra.

From there I headed over to Unu'pe to do the daily fishing quest I picked up from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran. Today it was Monsterbelly Appetite. I flew out to the icebergs and found a school of Monsterbelly to fish. I got my Bloated Monsterbelly on the first cast on Wranngar and the second cast on Gomorra.

I headed back to Dalaran to deliver my Vegetable Stew to Ajay Green at the Cantrips and Crows Tavern in the Underbelly and the Severed Arm to Olisarra the Kind, (36,37) the Grand Master First Aid Trainer in the Magus Commerce Exchange in Dalaran where she is going to attempt to reunite it with it's owner. The rewards for these were the usual, nothing special or out of the ordinary.

I did my daily's for The Sons of Hodir after that. I did them on both Wranngar and Gomorra. These go pretty quick, about a half hour on each, and pay pretty good. I get some good leather and meat from them too so I am not complaining at all. If you are interested in how to start doing the daily's for The Sons of Hodir check out this earlier post, Unlocking The Sons of Hodir Daily's.

I did all my daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade tonight. I picked up Leave Our Mark, Vile Like Fire! and Shoot 'Em Up from the Shadow Vault and From Their Corpses, Rise! and No Fly Zone from Death's Rise. I already had Intelligence Gathering that I was working on. I completed them all on both today for around 80 gold each. I am starting to build up my gold reserves after spending 8,000 gold on the Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth.

Dangerously Delicious

I finally got Dangerously Delicious from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, for the daily fishing today. This one is by far the most dangerous of the daily fishing quests. For this quest you need to catch 10 Terrorfish and it seems the only place they can be found is in Wintergrasp, the Northrend PvP area.

I found a great spot that is set apart from the battleground area even though you get flagged as soon as you enter. You're in Wintergrasp, there's not much you can do about that, but I didn't see one single person while I was there. Wranngar can hold his own but it has been a looong time since I did any PvP on Gomorra.

I took the flight path to Fordragon Hold in Dragonblight. From there I flew southwest to the southeast corner of Wintergrasp. I flew over the Burning Cauldron and got dismounted for being in a no-fly zone but you get a parachute so it's not too bad. You want to try to land on the big piece of ice floating in the middle of the lake you are heading to. I missed on both Wranngar and Gomorra and ended up in the water but you should be able to do it :).

Once I got there I picked a spot right at the southeast end of the lake (77,70) and started fishing. From what I read you want to use a +100 lure even at maximum fishing. I didn't have any problem on Gom with his 422 fishing skill, +30 pole, +3 fishing line and +100 lure. That gave him a total of 555 fishing skill. It took me about 5 minutes on each to catch my 10 Terrorfish. Once I had my 10 Terrorfish I hearthed back to Dalaran and turned them in to Marcia Chase. The reward for this quest is a Bag of Fishing Treasures which can contain anything from pets to epic items to junk and anything in between.

So I had good luck in the southeast corner of Wintergrasp and got in and out on both without any PvP resistance. I did this during a time when we were in control of Wintergrasp, but where I was fishing I don't think it would have mattered if the Horde controlled it or even if we were in battle.

Update: I have had just as good luck flying into the Alliance flight point in Wintergrasp and fishing in the Sunken Ring right there. If you have the flight point it will be quicker and easier to just fly in, fish there, and fly out.

This was the last of the 5 daily fishing quests Marcia Chase had for me to do so when I turned these in on Gom and Wrann they both got the achievement Chasing Marcia.

Good Luck :)

Daily Cooking 5/9/09

I did ALL my daily's today. I started with the daily cooking from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome. It was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf which had me heading down into the sewers to pick some Infused Mushrooms.

That went pretty quick on Gomorra, it didn't seem like anyone was doing it but it took a bit longer on Wranngar. When I finally had the 4 Infused Mushrooms I needed on each I cooked them up with some Chilled Meat to get my Meatloaf's. You do that by right clicking on the provided meatloaf pan while you are near a fire with all the mats in your inventory.

I delivered those to Orton Bennet upstairs at Curiosities and Moore. He gave Gomorra 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices in it. Not the best haul for Gom. Wranngar got 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and 4 Northern Spices. Not a great haul for him either. I still haven't spent Gom's awards he's been stockpiling.

I did all my daily's for the The Sons of Hodir. Wrann stopped off on at K3 his way there and did Overstock, a quick easy quest that gets you no rep with anyone but only takes a couple minutes and pays around 13 gold. For The Sons of Hodir I did Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter, Feeding Arngrim and Thrusting Hodir's Spear. These go pretty quick and pay around 66 gold plus leather and meat if you are a skinner and cook. I am exalted with The Sons of Hodir on both Wrann and Gom so I am just doing these for the gold.

I did all my daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade on both after that except for Intelligence Gathering, I didn't hand that one in again today. I did complete and hand in Leave Our Mark, Vile Like Fire!, Shoot 'Em Up, From Their Corpses, Rise! and No Fly Zone. Those 5 pay around 66 gold and around 80 gold when I turn in Intelligence Gathering. These don't take too long to do and I usually make between 10 and 15 gold on the garbage and greens that drop. Wrann is exalted with the Knights of the Ebon Blade but Gom is only revered so he is doing them for both the gold and rep.

I did some fishing on Gom after that. I was fishing schools for Musselback Sculpin in Borean Tundra. I ended up getting 37 before I called it quits. I also got 28 Glacial Salmon in Grizzly Hills. I got Gom's fishing skill to 422, only 28 more to go :). I was fishing for mats to cook up some Recipe: Poached Northern Sculpin and Recipe: Firecracker Salmon which I put in the guild bank to restock.

Daily's 5/8/09

I did a bunch of my daily's tonight. I skipped the cooking again as it was Cheese for Glowergold and I just didn't feel like dealing with trying to collect the wine glasses.

The daily fishing quest from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran was Jewel Of The Sewers. I headed down to the Black Market in the sewers under Dalaran to catch my piece of Corroded Jewelry. Wranngar got his piece of Corroded Jewelry on his 12th cast while Gomorra got his on his 10th cast. I turned these back in to Marcia and she gave each of them a Bag of Fishing Treasures. Gomorra's had 9g3s64c, 5 Pygmy Oil, a Tower Key (which I sold to a vendor for 16g66s66c) and 3 Deviate Fish. Not a great haul by any means but still some great stuff to get from this daily, wait until you see what Wrann got. Wranngar got 6g46s10c, a Glow Worm, 3 Solid Gold Coins, 2 Runic Mana Potions and a Bold Stormjewel. A Bold Stormjewel is an epic gem that goes for around 750 gold on the auction house. A great haul for Wrann today.

I did all my daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade on both Gomorra and Wranngar. I did, and turned, in Leave Our Mark, Vile Like Fire!, Shoot 'Em Up, From Their Corpses, Rise! and No Fly Zone. I got a couple more documents towards Intelligence Gathering too. These go pretty quick and pay around 80 gold.

I only did my daily's for The Sons of Hodir on Gomorra. When I went to do them on Wranngar there were just way too many people there so I decided to skip it. On Gomorra I did Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter and Feeding Arngrim. These are some more quests that go pretty quick and I get some meat and leather out of the deal too.

Northrend Daily's 5/7/09

I did some, but not all, of my daily's tonight. I skipped the daily cooking on both, it was Cheese for Glowergold and I just didn't feel like dealing with that.

I did all my daily's for The Sons of Hodir on Gomorra tonight. I did Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter, Feeding Arngrim and Thrusting Hodir's Spear. These take me about a half hour and pay some pretty good gold. I am exalted with The Sons of Hodir so I don't get rep anymore. I skipped these daily's on Wranngar tonight because I just ran out of time.

I did my daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade on both tonight. I did, and turned in, Leave Our Mark, Vile Like Fire!, Shoot 'Em Up, From Their Corpses, Rise! and No Fly Zone. I did get a few documents towards Intelligence Gathering while I was at it, I will turn that in eventually when I get the 5 I need.

The daily fishing quest in Dalaran was The Ghostfish so I headed over to the flight point at Rivers Heart in Sholazar Basin then flew up to the top of the cliff to the north and stood on my log at 49,55. I guess it is more of a root than a log, a big root sticking out into the water. I got my Phantom Ghostfish on the 4th cast on Gomorra and the 18th cast on Wranngar, Wranngar was having a hard time of it. I ate my Phantom Ghostfish as soon as I got it because it starts clocking as soon as you loot it and you only have 60 seconds before it disappears.

When you eat the Phantom Ghostfish you get a buff that puts you into a state called Invisibility. It lasts for 15 seconds or until you break it by doing anything. If you have ever seen The Lord of the Rings, this is like when Frodo puts on the ring, it looks just like that.

Northrend Daily's 5/6/09

I did all my daily's on both Wranngar and Gomorra tonight. I have done them on at least one every day and try to do them on both. I spent all my gold on the Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth so I need to make some gold but, in the last 5 days, I have managed to make almost 2,000 gold doing daily's and selling drops so I am not doing too bad.

I did the daily cooking today which was Convention at the Legerdemain. I got the jug of wine on both Wranngar and Gomorra as soon as I got to One More Glass, the wine and cheese shop in Dalaran. I got Wranngar's right behind the counter where the guy is standing when you come in and Gomorra's right outside behind that girl at the table. I cooked up 4 Northern Stew and delivered everything to Arille Azuregaze, the bartender at The Legerdemain. He was pretty happy and gave Wranngar 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices, 3 Old Spices and 4 Baby Spice in it. Not a bad haul. Gomorra got 9g93a, 2 Dalaran Cooking Awards and a Small Spice Bag with 4 Northern Spices in it. Gomorra has 9 cooking awards to spend now so I will get 3 more recipes for him tomorrow. He has 450 cooking now so I kind of slacked off on getting his recipes lately even though I get the awards every day.

The daily fishing quest from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was Blood Is Thicker today. I took the flight point from Dalaran to Unu'pe then flew straight inland and found a Marsh Caribou to kill. Killing that covered me in blood so I flew back to Unu'pe and jumped in the water to create a blood pool. I fished the blood pool until I caught my 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy then headed back to Dalaran to turn in. Gomorra's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 9g99s91c, 3 Elixir of Water Walking and a Worthless Piece of Green Glass. Not the best haul but there is some really good stuff to get from this daily. Wranngar's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 9g59s36c, 4 Pygmy Oil, a Velociraptor Skull and 3 Deviate Fish. He didn't do much better than Gom.

I did all my daily's for The Sons of Hodir after that. I did my usual quests, Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter and Feeding Arngrim. These go quick and easy and I am usually out of there in a half hour including skinning everything everyone else kills, loots and leaves. For more information on the Sons of Hodir daily's check out Unlocking The Sons of Hodir Daily's.

I did all my daily for the Knights of the Ebon Blade tonight too. I have 6 daily's I do for them, Leave Our Mark, Vile Like Fire! and Shoot 'Em Up that I pick up at the Shadow Vault and From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone and Intelligence Gathering that I get from Death's Rise. I turned in Intelligence Gathering on Wranngar tonight and Gomorra last night so it will be a few days before I turn that in again on either.

Children's Week

Children's Week is on us once again, May 1st through May 7th. This is the second year I have taken part in this. The objective of Children's Week is to take an Orphan out and show them a good time. I got the same Orphans as I had last year. I got Dornaa from the Orphanage in Shattrath City and an unnamed Human Orphan from the Orphanage in Stormwind.

I took Dornaa to see the Dark Portal, she wanted to see it from the Outlands side (not the Azeroth side it turns out), The Exodar, The Caverns of Time and a few other places. I think she had a pretty good time, I got her a Toy Dragon from The Caverns of Time. While we were at the Exodar she saw someone she had dreamed about. He encouraged her to do what she did in her dream, summon 4 Elementals, which she did. I wonder who/what she will grow up to be.

I took the unnamed Human Orphan to see the bank in Darnassus, the Lighthouse in Westfall, I took him to see, and got him, Jaina Proudmoore's Autograph in Theramore and a couple other places. I got him some ice cream and he seemed to have a pretty good time too.

As a reward for taking Dornaa, the Orphan from Shattrath, to all the places she wanted to go I got Egbert's Egg on Wranngar and Elekk Training Collar on Gomorra.

As a reward for taking the unnamed Human, from Stormwind, to all the places he wanted to go I got Whiskers the Rat on both Wranngar and Gomorra.

I grabbed both of them again as soon as I turned them in so I can complete some more achievements.

Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth

I got the Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth for Wranngar the other day. It's a huge mount that can carry myself plus 2 passengers for a total of 3 riders. It doesn't have vendors on board like the Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth but it is also 8,000 gold cheaper. For 8,000 gold I can live without the vendors :).

You get the Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth from The Sons of Hodir. You can purchase it from Lillehoff, the Sons of Hodir Quartermaster, for 8,000 gold when you are exalted with them. He also has Reins of the Ice Mammoth for 850 gold at revered, 800 gold at exalted, some patterns and some nice inscriptions plus gear and weapons.

I thought it was pretty easy to get to exalted with The Sons of Hodir, I am exalted on both Gomorra and Wranngar. Everyone starts off hated with The Sons of Hodir, then you have to do a quest line to become friendly with them and unlock The Sons of Hodir daily's.

One of my earlier posts, Unlocking The Sons of Hodir Daily's, has all the information you need about that along with a complete list of the quests you will need to do to become friendly and unlock the daily's.

The Ghostfish

I finally got The Ghostfish for my daily fishing quest today. Another easy one but a little more time consuming for the traveling and all.

I flew out to the flight point at River's Heart in Sholozar Basin, then headed up to the top of the cliff to the north. I found a log to stand on at 49,55 and started fishing for the mysterious Phantom Ghostfish.

I got Gomorra's Phantom Ghostfish on his 8th cast there. You don't need to fish from a school to catch these as they come attached to other fish you catch. Once you catch one you need to eat it right away, they are on a timer and only last 60 seconds. They start clocking as soon as you loot them. Eating it will complete the quest. If you don't eat it within 60 seconds it will disappear, so pay attention, they look just like Pygmy Suckerfish with a slightly different color. Wranngar got his Phantom Ghostfish on his 11th cast there.

When you eat the Phantom Ghostfish you get a buff that puts you into a state called Invisibility. It lasts for 15 seconds or until you break it by doing anything. If you have ever seen The Lord of the Rings, this is like when Frodo puts on the ring, it looks just like that. I will have to get a screen shot of it the next time this one comes up in the lineup. (screen shot added 5/7/09)

All you have to do after that is hand it back in where you got it, Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran. She will reward you with a Bag of Fishing Treasures that can contain anything from pets to epic items to junk and anything in between. Today Wranngar's had a New Age Painting signed by Marcia Chase. As priceless as that seemed, a vendor managed to put a price on it, 25 gold.

Jewel of the Sewers

We finally had a new daily fishing quest in Dalaran today, it was Jewel Of The Sewers. I got this from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran. To complete the quest you have to fish up a piece of Corroded Jewelry in the sewers. I headed down into the sewers with no real idea where I was going to fish for this.

I tried the middle first, the Circle of Wills, but didn't have any luck after 10 casts so I headed over to the Black Market to see if I would have any better luck. This was on Wranngar and he ended up getting the piece of Corroded Jewelry he needed to complete the quest on his 8th cast in the Black Market.

The quest gives you a tip, "The trick is to let your hook drag the bottom and don't pull up too hard when get something". I fished this like I was fishing anything else, right clicked on my bobber as soon as it bobbed and got my loot.

I did it again on Gomorra after that and decided to try over by the Cantrips and Crows Tavern first, to see if I could get one there. I gave up there after 10 casts and headed over to the Black Market. I got my piece of Corroded Jewelry on my 2nd cast there.

This quest gets turned back in to Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran. The reward is a Bag of Fishing Treasures which can contain anything from pets to epic gems to worthless pieces of glass, that sell for 5 copper each to a vendor, and anything in between. It always contains some gold too, anywhere from 6 to 10 gold along with some silver and copper.

I would definitely say the place to fish for Corroded Jewelry is in the Black Market. There was hardly anyone there (one other person) when I was fishing. There were a few people fishing in the middle and a lot of people fishing over by the Cantrips and Crows Tavern. This is the first time I have seen this quest in the lineup since I started the daily fishing in Dalaran a couple days after patch 3.1.

There are still 2 more I have not seen yet, Dangerously Delicious and The Ghostfish. Hopefully they will show up soon, I will let you know how I make out.

Good Luck :)

Blood Is Thicker

Today the daily fishing quest from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was Blood Is Thicker. This one is so easy it's funny.

Here's how I do this one. I fly to the flight path in Unu'pe then head inland until I am just past the snow belt, around 76,43. For those without coords, just fly straight inland from the flight path until you get past the snow and look for a Marsh Caribou to kill. Killing one will cover you in blood for 3 minutes. (Note: Killing one of these, or any other animal the Druids don't approve of killing, might not cover you in blood, it has taken me up to 4 kills to get covered since patach 3.1)

Fly straight back to the shore and jump in the water around 79,51. This will create a blood pool and also remove the blood from you. All you have to do after that is fish the blood pool until you have 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy. This usually takes 2 casts as you get 2 or 3 a cast, usually 3. Head back to Dalaran and turn them in to Marcia Chase for your Bag of Fishing Treasures.

I take the flight path from Krasus' Landing in Dalaran to Unu'pe and the flight is the longest part of the whole quest lol. You can easily complete this in a couple minutes after you land in Unu'pe. I have also had someone land and fish out of my blood pool while I was fishing it, so it looks like you really don't even need to kill anything or get covered in blood, just fish a blood pool if there is one there.

Good Luck :)

Mustard Dogs!

Today's daily cooking quest in Dalaran was Mustard Dogs!. As usual I did this on both Wranngar and Gomorra as soon as I got on. If you're Alliance you get this one from Katherine Lee (41,65), in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome. That is where all the Alliance daily cooking quests start. If you're Horde you get it from Awilo Lon'gomba (70,38), inside The Filthy Animal next to Krasus' Landing.

This isn't a difficult quest but it can take awhile to get the 4 pieces of Wild Mustard you need if everyone is trying to do it at once, which usually seems to be the case. The Wild Mustard can be found growing in any of the grassy areas around Dalaran. They are small, yellow and, I think, hard to see. They are definitely hard to target. One area that seems to get overlooked is the grassy area around the flight point at Krasus' Landing. I usually have good luck there getting one or two. Another place is that little park place with the benches in the center of town. I also have good luck over in the corner by the Magus Commerce Exchange where you can go down into the Underbelly.

Once you have your 4 pieces of Wild Mustard you will need to combine them with 4 Rhino Dogs to make a Mustard Dog Basket!. You do this by right clicking on the supplied Empty Picnic Basket when you have the 4 Rhino Dogs and 4 Wild Mustard in your inventory. Once you have your Mustard Dog Basket in hand you can deliver it to Archmage Pentarus at Krasus' Landing for 9g93s, at least one Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag that can contain any, or all, of the following:

Northern Spices
Old Spices
Baby Spice
Dalaran Cooking Award
And if you don't have it, Recipe: Delicious Chocolate Cake. (This is a rare drop, 1.7%)

Remember to keep some Rhino Meat and Chilled Meat on hand, it makes these daily's go so much quicker.

Good Luck :)

Monsterbelly Appetite

We finally had a different daily for the daily fishing quest in Dalaran! Today Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, had Monsterbelly Appetite for me. For this one you have to go and recover a fisherman's arm that was eaten by a Deep Sea Monsterbelly. The way you go about doing this is to catch Deep Sea Monsterbelly's until you catch a Bloated Monsterbelly. When you cut that open (loot it) you find the 'fisherman's arm'.

The Deep Sea Monsterbelly's can be found right off shore in Borean Tundra. Fly into Unu'pe then fly out to sea heading southeast. You can see some icebergs offshore and that is where you want to fish around. For those of you with coordinates it is around 30,66. You need 480+ fishing skill to catch the Monsterbelly's. They will be found in schools. If you have the 'fine art of fish finding' it is a lot easier because you can identify the schools on your mini map before you fly over to them. They are mixed in with Moonglow Cuttlefish schools so you can waste a little time checking out the wrong schools if you don't have gift of fish finding.

I got my Bloated Monsterbelly, which gave up the 'fisherman's arm', on the first cast on Gomorra and the second cast on Wranngar.

This quest does not get handed back in to the quest giver Marcia Chase, it get's handed in to Olisarra the Kind, the Grand Master First Aid Trainer in the Magus Commerce Exchange (36,37) in Dalaran. She is going to attempt to reunite the arm with the fisherman.

I turned the 'arms' in for a couple Bags of Fishing Treasures. Gom's had 8g55s60c, 5 Pygmy Oil, 3 Deviate Fish and 2 Worthless Pieces of Red Glass. Just to let you know how worthless they really are, I sold both of them to a vendor for a total of 10 copper. You take the good with the bad :). Still some good rewards to be had from this daily, I am looking forward to seeing what else I get. Wrann's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 8g19s39c, 4 Pygmy Oil and 5 Solid Gold Coins which I sold to a vendor for 5 gold. Now that was worth walking over to the vendor for. It only makes sense that a Solid Gold Coin would be worth a gold.

Yesterday I saw someone with a Jeweled Fishing Pole. It is one of the rewards you can get from the daily fishing quest in Dalaran and it's just what it sounds like, a fishing pole with jewels on it. It looks cool, and gives +30 to fishing skill, but it's definitely a chick pole. I'm not giving up my Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole for it but I still want one just to add to my collection. Here is a screen shot of one I got off Thottbot.

Daily Quests 4/22/09

I did a bunch of daily's today, I finally got Gomorra doing all of the daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade. It was really stupid to be honest, I went over to one side of the Shadow Vault I hadn't been over to lately and saw a ?. It was from a quest I had finished but didn't turn in. I turned it in and it opened up Shoot 'Em Up as well as sending me over to Death's Rise to do a couple quests to start all those daily's, From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone and Intelligence Gathering, which I did in it's entirety tonight on Gomorra. I also did Shoot 'Em Up, Leave Our Mark and Vile Like Fire! at the Shadow Vault. I did all those on Wranngar too. Don't make the same mistake I did, pay attention :). I am starting to make some good gold now and send at least 500g a day to the bank.

I did all my daily's for The Sons of Hodir on both of them after that. It didn't take too long tonight, there didn't seem to be too many people doing it. I did Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter and Feeding Arngrim. I get some pretty good gold for doing these too. I think Feeding Arngrim is the easiest out of all of them. I haven't had any trouble with anyone stealing my smoldering scraps lately either. I always make sure I have at least 6 Essence of Ice before I do it, I only need 5. Blowing Hodir's Horn is a pretty quick and easy one too if not too many people are there trying to do it at the same time. It's on the other side I get all my leather and meat, in the Valley of Ancient Winters. That is where the Mammoths and Roaming Worms are. I get Leather, Mammoth Meat and Worm Meat from those.

The daily fishing quest from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran was, no surprise, Blood Is Thicker. I headed over to Unu'pe, flew inland and killed a Marsh Caribou then flew back to the shore and jumped in, making a blood pool. I fished in the blood pool until I caught 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy then headed back to Dalaran to turn it in. Gomorra's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 7g80s84c, 3 Elixirs of Water Walking, 4 Deviate Fish and a Tower Key which I sold to a vendor for 16g66s66c. Not sure what point they are trying to get across there. Wranngar's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 10g55s83c, 2 Northsea Pearls, 2 Solid Gold Coins which I sold to a vendor for 1g each, and 2 Deviate Fish. A pretty decent haul for both today I guess.

The daily cooking was Cheese for Glowergold, my least favorite. I only did it on Gomorra. When I went to do it on Wranngar I couldn't find any Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses anywhere so I gave up. I hate doing that one anyway. Gomorra collected his glasses then went to the wine and cheese shop, One More Glass, and got a piece of Aged Dalaran Limburger. He combined those onto the platter and delivered it to Ranid Glowergold at the Leatherworkers in the Magus Commerce Exchange. Glowergold gave him 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award, which might have given me 3, I forgot to check, and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices and 4 Old Spices in it. Not the best haul but I have had worse.

Blood Is Thicker 4/21/09

The daily fishing quest from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was Blood Is Thicker again... This doesn't surprise me. It is not because nothing in The World of Warcraft surprises me anymore, it is because the daily cooking and fishing quests, where you can get different quests, get stuck on the same quest for days at a time. This is not unusual and anyone who does them regularly just deals with it and hopes it doesn't get stuck on the worst one lol.

Here is how I do this one. I fly to the flight path in Unu'pe then head inland until I am just past the snow belt, around 76,43. For those without coords, just fly straight inland from the flight path until you get past the snow and look for a Marsh Caribou to kill. Killing one will cover you in blood for 3 minutes. (Today not only was I covered in blood, my Magnificent Flying Carpet was too. I don't even want to think about the dry cleaning bill for that.) Fly straight back to the shore and jump in the water around 79,51. This will create a blood pool and also remove the blood from you. All you have to do after that is fish the blood pool until you have 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy. This usually takes 2 casts as you get 2 or 3 a cast, usually 3. Head back to Dalaran and turn it in to Marcia Chase for your Bag of Fishing Treasures.

Today Gomorra got 9g89s12c, 3 Pygmy Oil and a Diamond-tipped Cane in his Bag of Fishing Treasures. For some reason Diamond-tipped Cane goes for around 120 gold on the auction house so I will auction that off. Wranngar's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 6g8s77c, 2 Elixirs of Water Walking, 4 Deviate Fish and a Worthless Piece of Orange Glass in it. Worthless is the key word in Worthless Piece of Orange Glass, I got 5c for it from a vendor. Not a great return but not a bad one, Gom got the Diamond-tipped Cane and that will bring in some gold.

I would really like to see what the other quests for this are but I guess I will have to wait until Blizzard gets their act together.
