The Kalu'ak 03/01/09

I got on Wranngar today and did my daily quests for The Kalu'ak first. I wanted to become exalted with them so I could buy the Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole. I did my first 2 quests and became exalted so when I went to the 3rd quest I talked to the quartermaster there and got my Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole for around 106 gold. I also picked up a Nurtured Penguin Egg for 10 gold. I did the last daily for The Kalu'ak and headed back to Dalaran to get some Spun Truesilver Fishing Line I had in the bank to put on my new fishing pole. With that installed I decided to fish up the ingredients for some Recipe: Fish Feast, 20 of them to be exact. For that I needed 40 Glacial Salmon, 40 Musselback Sculpin and 40 Nettlefish plus 20 Northern Spices. There is a lot that goes into making these, 120 fish and 20 Northern Spices for a stack of 20. I fished for awhile, I have spots where I go to fish schools of the fish I need and by the time I was done I ended up catching:

Quite a variety of stuff. I cooked up my 20 Fish Feast and had a little left over to stock the guild bank. I am pretty happy I finally got the Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole.

I did the daily cooking today which was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf again. I went down into the Underbelly and got my 4 Infused Mushrooms fast then ran over to the bank and got a couple of chilled meat to cook them up with. I made my Infused Mushroom Meatloaf and delivered it in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag. I hit the jackpot today when I opened my Small Spice Bag, it had 4 Northern Spices, 5 Old Spices, 5 Baby Spice and another Dalaran Cooking Award. I used both my awards to buy Northern Spices which got me 20. I am pretty stocked up on them now, I have 92.

I did my Knights of the Ebon Blade daily's today. I flew over to Onslaught Harbor and did From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone and Intelligence Gathering then turned them in and flew over and did Leave Our Mark, Shoot 'Em Up and Vile Like Fire!. After I turned these in I headed over to The Stormpeaks and did Overstock. A really fast and easy quest that gets you around 13 gold for a couple minutes and no equipment damage.

I got back on a little later and did some more fishing and some battlegrounds. I was fishing in the Underbelly trying to do the achievement I Smell A Giant Rat. I fish on and off between battlegrounds and when I get a minute or two. I have not had much luck so far. Today I caught: 34 Sewer Carp, 16 Magic Eater, 4 Partially Eaten Fish, 4 Empty Vials 3 Drowned Rats and 2 Crystal Vials. I also found a Underbelly Elixir while I was down there. I did the daily fishing quest from Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest, which was The One That Got Away. It went pretty quick and I got my World's Largest Mudfish on the 8th cast. I turned that in and got 6g91s1c, 3 Elixir of Water Walking and a Piece of Polished Driftwood in my Bag of Fishing Treasures. I needed the Elixir of Water Walking as I use them fishing and was running low. I also talked to Mythrara some more today and they joined Blackmoor Coven. I moved them right up to member so they can use the guild bank for repairs and also get items out of the bank.

I did some Eye of the Storm battles today. I fought in 6 battles, 4 wins and 2 losses. A couple of the wins were close but the losses were really bad. Too many people going for the flag instead of trying to get towers. Too many people leaving our nodes completely unguarded. I got to BET which was empty and it hadn't even finished clocking all the way over to our side, they left as soon as the banners changed... That is why we are losing in there, that and the large numbers of AFK all of a sudden. You never used to see a lot of AFK in EoS before.

Wranngar 2/28/09

I was playing Wranngar tonight and got a nice surprise, I heard from someone who reads my blog. Their name was Mythrara and I only got to talk to them for a minute but it was really nice to hear from someone in the game that has read my blog. They are the first person to ever contact me. Hopefully I will hear more from them. They wanted to know where Gomorra was :). I was on Wranngar helping Salintu do Kibler's Exotic Pets to get a Worg Pup. We went into Blackrock Spire to get it and we had no problem. It is a level 58-60 instance and I was rounding up groups in cat form and we were just downing them. We killed a few bosses, got a few blues and a good time was had by all :).

I did the daily cooking today which was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf. I got my 4 Infused Mushrooms pretty quick and cooked them up with a couple Chilled Meat to get my meatloaf. I delivered that and got 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag. My Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices and 3 Old Spices in it today, not a bad haul. I spent my Dalaran Cooking Award on 10 more Northern Spices. That is all I have left to spend them on, I have all the recipes and that is the only other thing you can spend them on. The Northern Spices will start piling up fast now at, at least, 10 a day.

I did my daily quests for The Kalu'ak today, they are: Preparing for the Worst, Planning for the Future and The Way to His Heart.... Tomorrow I will become exalted with them and will be able to finally buy the Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole. And of course the Nurtured Penguin Egg. I only need about 700 more rep with them to become exalted. I did my Knights of the Ebon Blade daily's tonight too. I really didn't want to but I need the gold after Gomorra spent all that gold on his mounts in Dalaran. The daily's I do for them are: From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone, Intelligence Gathering, Leave Our Mark, Shoot 'Em Up and Vile Like Fire! These don't take too long although a couple of them can be aggravating. I get around 80 gold from these 6. I also did Overstock in The Stormpeaks, a quick and easy quest that only takes a couple minutes and pays around 13 gold.

The daily battleground today was Strand of the Ancients. We won the first one I was in by a landslide. We got the relic or totem or whatever it is we are after with over 5 minutes left on the clock. When it came the Hordes turn to attack they only got through one gate before their time ran out. I turned that daily in for 13g23s and 1241 honor. I fought in 2 Eye of the Storm after that, one win and one loss. The first one I was in looked like a loss. We were behind for most of it and couldn't seem to get a third tower. We couldn't run the flag. It was looking like a definite loss when all of a sudden we started running the flag, got a third tower and ended up winning by less than 200 points. In the second battle we had someone who was preaching that "a 5 cap would get it over quickly" and "the Allaince never wins in EoS". First off there are not 5 objectives to cap in EoS and second the Alliance wins in there all the time, at least during the hours I play. Anyway we lost that one.
