Wranngar - Level 83 Feral Druid

I worked on Wranngar for a little while today and got him to level 83. Wranngar is the last of my 80's I need to get to 85.

I was questing in Deepholm when I hit 83 and headed right over to Uldum to start questing there. I am more interested in getting to 85 than I am with rep or achievements at this time, I can always go back later and finish up all the quests to get the achievements later. I will get more XP per quest in Uldum and get to 84 quicker there which will then allow me to start questing in Twilight Highlands which will get me to 85 pretty quick.

After Wranngar is to 85 I will have to start working on getting them all geared. Right now my Hunter, Brieanna, is the best geared with an item level of 344. My Shaman, Breeonna, is the next best geared with an item level of 336 and my Priest, Brieonna, is next with an item level of 330. My Warlock, Gomorra, is coming in last with an item level of 320. It is gonna take awhile to get them all geared and I was more interested in getting them to 85 than getting them geared right away. Once they are all 85 there will be time for that.

Since they changed the armory around none of my character links were working. The ones in this post are updated and I will work on getting all the other links on this blog updated in the next couple days.

Warsong Gulch 03/02/09

Today's daily battleground was Warsong Gulch. I did it on Wranngar and we won the second one I was in. We lost the first one 1/3 but won the second one 3/0. The first one was not for lack of trying. It was a battle the whole time but part of the problem was the people fighting in the middle. They weren't defending our flag, they weren't trying to get our flag back and they weren't trying to get the Horde flag. They were just fighting in the middle. While that was keeping the Horde occupied it was not enough because there were 2 rogues in their flagroom and every time someone tried to get the flag they got ghanked. We finally lost that one and I joined another. We did a lot better in that one, it took a little while but we owned them. That got my daily done which I turned in for 13g23s and 1241 extra honor which is a lot more than we got for winning the battle. I also fought in 5 Eye of the Storm battles, 3 wins and 2 losses. The major problem in most the battles was flagtards. They were more worried about getting the flag than they were about getting and holding some bases so we could win. I forgot to check but I wouldn't be surprised to find out it is EoS holiday weekend this weekend. The 3 we won were a struggle and usually we dominate in there so something is going on.

I did all my daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade today, From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone, Intelligence Gathering, Leave Our Mark, Shoot 'Em Up and Vile Like Fire!. I got about 80 gold for those which is good, I need to build up my reserves again. I only did one daily for The Kalu'ak and decided it is just not worth it. I did Preparing for the Worst and then wrote them off. I got what I was after from them and I am not going to continue to do their quests for 5 gold a piece.

The daily cooking quest today was Mustard Dogs!. This requires running around Dalaran looking for Wild Mustard. You need to pick 4 of them and that took me about 5 minutes. Then I needed to cook them up with 4 Rhino Dogs and put them in the basket provided. That presented the problem as I only had 3 pieces of rhino meat and no Rhino Dogs in the guild bank. I headed over to Sholazar Basin to hunt some rhino's for meat. I hunted for about 20 minutes and got 21 pieces which would allow me to complete the quest and also have a full stack of meat in the bank. I completed the quest and turned it in for 2 Dalaran Cooking Awards, a Small Spice Bag and 9g93s. My Small Spice Bag had 5 Northern Spices in it. I am not sure why I got 2 Dalaran Cooking Awards today as part of the payoff. I didn't yesterday, I got one plus one in the Small Spice Bag. Seems kind of odd. Maybe some quests pay more than others. Anyway I used my 2 Dalaran Cooking Awards to buy 20 more Northern Spices, now I have 117. They stack in 100's, I was curious about that.

I went and saw Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest, to see what he had for me. Today he wanted me to head to Stormwind and take care of Crocolisks in the City for him. I portal'd to Stormwind and got to fishing in the canal outside the Mage District. I got a Baby Crocolisk on my 15th cast. I flew to Blasted Lands and then rode over to the Dark Portal and went through that. On the other side, in the Outlands, I flew to Shattrath then flew over and turned this in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. That had 7g21s1c, 3 Elixirs of Water Walking and a Mariner's Log. Not a great haul today but I can really use the Elixirs of Water Walking so it was worth it.

The Kalu'ak 03/01/09

I got on Wranngar today and did my daily quests for The Kalu'ak first. I wanted to become exalted with them so I could buy the Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole. I did my first 2 quests and became exalted so when I went to the 3rd quest I talked to the quartermaster there and got my Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole for around 106 gold. I also picked up a Nurtured Penguin Egg for 10 gold. I did the last daily for The Kalu'ak and headed back to Dalaran to get some Spun Truesilver Fishing Line I had in the bank to put on my new fishing pole. With that installed I decided to fish up the ingredients for some Recipe: Fish Feast, 20 of them to be exact. For that I needed 40 Glacial Salmon, 40 Musselback Sculpin and 40 Nettlefish plus 20 Northern Spices. There is a lot that goes into making these, 120 fish and 20 Northern Spices for a stack of 20. I fished for awhile, I have spots where I go to fish schools of the fish I need and by the time I was done I ended up catching:

Quite a variety of stuff. I cooked up my 20 Fish Feast and had a little left over to stock the guild bank. I am pretty happy I finally got the Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole.

I did the daily cooking today which was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf again. I went down into the Underbelly and got my 4 Infused Mushrooms fast then ran over to the bank and got a couple of chilled meat to cook them up with. I made my Infused Mushroom Meatloaf and delivered it in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag. I hit the jackpot today when I opened my Small Spice Bag, it had 4 Northern Spices, 5 Old Spices, 5 Baby Spice and another Dalaran Cooking Award. I used both my awards to buy Northern Spices which got me 20. I am pretty stocked up on them now, I have 92.

I did my Knights of the Ebon Blade daily's today. I flew over to Onslaught Harbor and did From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone and Intelligence Gathering then turned them in and flew over and did Leave Our Mark, Shoot 'Em Up and Vile Like Fire!. After I turned these in I headed over to The Stormpeaks and did Overstock. A really fast and easy quest that gets you around 13 gold for a couple minutes and no equipment damage.

I got back on a little later and did some more fishing and some battlegrounds. I was fishing in the Underbelly trying to do the achievement I Smell A Giant Rat. I fish on and off between battlegrounds and when I get a minute or two. I have not had much luck so far. Today I caught: 34 Sewer Carp, 16 Magic Eater, 4 Partially Eaten Fish, 4 Empty Vials 3 Drowned Rats and 2 Crystal Vials. I also found a Underbelly Elixir while I was down there. I did the daily fishing quest from Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest, which was The One That Got Away. It went pretty quick and I got my World's Largest Mudfish on the 8th cast. I turned that in and got 6g91s1c, 3 Elixir of Water Walking and a Piece of Polished Driftwood in my Bag of Fishing Treasures. I needed the Elixir of Water Walking as I use them fishing and was running low. I also talked to Mythrara some more today and they joined Blackmoor Coven. I moved them right up to member so they can use the guild bank for repairs and also get items out of the bank.

I did some Eye of the Storm battles today. I fought in 6 battles, 4 wins and 2 losses. A couple of the wins were close but the losses were really bad. Too many people going for the flag instead of trying to get towers. Too many people leaving our nodes completely unguarded. I got to BET which was empty and it hadn't even finished clocking all the way over to our side, they left as soon as the banners changed... That is why we are losing in there, that and the large numbers of AFK all of a sudden. You never used to see a lot of AFK in EoS before.

Wranngar 2/28/09

I was playing Wranngar tonight and got a nice surprise, I heard from someone who reads my blog. Their name was Mythrara and I only got to talk to them for a minute but it was really nice to hear from someone in the game that has read my blog. They are the first person to ever contact me. Hopefully I will hear more from them. They wanted to know where Gomorra was :). I was on Wranngar helping Salintu do Kibler's Exotic Pets to get a Worg Pup. We went into Blackrock Spire to get it and we had no problem. It is a level 58-60 instance and I was rounding up groups in cat form and we were just downing them. We killed a few bosses, got a few blues and a good time was had by all :).

I did the daily cooking today which was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf. I got my 4 Infused Mushrooms pretty quick and cooked them up with a couple Chilled Meat to get my meatloaf. I delivered that and got 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag. My Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices and 3 Old Spices in it today, not a bad haul. I spent my Dalaran Cooking Award on 10 more Northern Spices. That is all I have left to spend them on, I have all the recipes and that is the only other thing you can spend them on. The Northern Spices will start piling up fast now at, at least, 10 a day.

I did my daily quests for The Kalu'ak today, they are: Preparing for the Worst, Planning for the Future and The Way to His Heart.... Tomorrow I will become exalted with them and will be able to finally buy the Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole. And of course the Nurtured Penguin Egg. I only need about 700 more rep with them to become exalted. I did my Knights of the Ebon Blade daily's tonight too. I really didn't want to but I need the gold after Gomorra spent all that gold on his mounts in Dalaran. The daily's I do for them are: From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone, Intelligence Gathering, Leave Our Mark, Shoot 'Em Up and Vile Like Fire! These don't take too long although a couple of them can be aggravating. I get around 80 gold from these 6. I also did Overstock in The Stormpeaks, a quick and easy quest that only takes a couple minutes and pays around 13 gold.

The daily battleground today was Strand of the Ancients. We won the first one I was in by a landslide. We got the relic or totem or whatever it is we are after with over 5 minutes left on the clock. When it came the Hordes turn to attack they only got through one gate before their time ran out. I turned that daily in for 13g23s and 1241 honor. I fought in 2 Eye of the Storm after that, one win and one loss. The first one I was in looked like a loss. We were behind for most of it and couldn't seem to get a third tower. We couldn't run the flag. It was looking like a definite loss when all of a sudden we started running the flag, got a third tower and ended up winning by less than 200 points. In the second battle we had someone who was preaching that "a 5 cap would get it over quickly" and "the Allaince never wins in EoS". First off there are not 5 objectives to cap in EoS and second the Alliance wins in there all the time, at least during the hours I play. Anyway we lost that one.

Wranngar 2/26/09

I got on Wranngar tonight and got the daily cooking out of the way right away. It was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf so I went and got my Infused Mushrooms, cooked them up with a couple Chilled Meat, delivered it and got 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag, that had 4 Northern Spices and another Dalaran Cooking Award in it, for my trouble. Not a bad haul today at all. I will get the 3rd Dalaran Cooking Award I need tomorrow, buy and cook up my last recipe for The Northrend Gourmet achievement and get my Chef title.

I did my 3 daily's for The Kalu'ak, they are: Preparing for the Worst, Planning for the Future and The Way to His Heart.... It will take me 3 more days to get exalted with them, I will almost be there in 2 days but almost doesn't count. I get 5 gold a piece for these daily's but it is the reputation I am after. After that I did my Knight of the Ebon Blade daily's. They are: From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone, Intelligence Gathering, Leave Our Mark, Shoot 'Em Up and Vile Like Fire!. I get 13g23s each for these Ebon Blade daily's which amounts to about 80 gold for all 6. I reached exalted with the Knights of the Ebon Blade today. I got Darkheart Chestguard from the quartermaster for 39 gold. You have to be exalted with them to purchase it. That was a nice deal. I did Overstock in The Stormpeaks too, this is another really easy quest that pays around 13 gold.

The daily battleground was Eye of the Storm today. It took me 3 to get a win. The first battle I was in we had a really bad group, too many flagtards. Everyone was going for the flag instead of towers. Needless to say we lost that one. The next group was a little better but not much. I guess the group was ok for the most part but we had 4 AFK. 4 out of 15 is pretty bad. Anyway we fought pretty hard but lost by a few hundred points anyway. In the third battle we did a lot better, we won that one and had a 3 cap going most of the time, we lost DR towards the end but I think we got it back before the battle ended. Anyway I had the win I needed and completed the daily.

Daily's 2/25/09

I got on Wranngar tonight and did all my usual daily's. I started off with the daily cooking which was Cheese for Glowergold much to my dismay. I ran around Dalaran looking for Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses until I had the 6 I needed. When I was in the cheese and wine shop looking for the Aged Dalaran Limburger and any Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses that might be laying around I found them sitting right next to each other so that saved a little time. Finally I had my 6 Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses, combined them with the Aged Dalaran Limburger on the supplied platter and delivered it to Glowergold. He gave me a Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and a Small Spice Bag which only had 3 Northern Spices in it. I always feel like I get ripped off from this one after the time you have to put in to get the Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses.When I checked to see how many Dalaran Cooking Awards I had, I thought I would have one or two, I had 3. That was a nice surprise so I got Recipe: Tracker Snacks and cooked some up. I am now one recipe away from my Chef's title. Yep, pretty exciting times.

I did my daily's for The Kalu'ak after I finished up the cooking. These are pretty easy and, although I don't make much gold off them, I get good rep from them, 500 each. I did Preparing for the Worst first. This is where I fly around a small area and pick up 8 wicker baskets of supplies and deliver them back to the quest giver. A pretty easy quest. It pays 5 gold. Then I head over and do Planning for the Future. This involves going up into the hills and kidnapping these wolf tykes. I do it in flight form which I can not be stunned in and just let the adults beat on me while I pick up the tykes. Once I have them I just fly straight up and break aggro. I turn them over to the quest giver and collect 5 gold and 500 rep. From there I head over to Howling Fjord for The Way to His Heart.... I have to go out and get some Tasty Reef Fish and then lure a Bull Sea Lion over to a Cow Sea Lion so they can find true love. Happens pretty quick so you don't have to hang around and wait. I turn this one into the quest giver for 5 gold and 500 rep. Then it's off to The Stormpeaks to do Overstock. A quick easy quest that gives you around 13 gold. I did my Knights of the Ebon Blade daily's last. They didn't take me long tonight, even shooting down the Drakes and their riders went pretty fast. I will be exalted with them tomorrow and get my chest piece. I make around 80 gold plus whatever I sell the drops for from the Ebon Blade daily's.

Daily's Wranngar 2/24/09

I got on Wranngar tonight and did the daily cooking which was Mustard Dogs!. This can be a really easy one if not too many people are doing it or a really hard one if everyone is trying to do it at the same time. If everyone is trying to do it at the same time I usually go and do my other daily's and then come back to it. Today was an easy day and I got my 4 Wild Mustard pretty quick. I went to the bank and grabbed 4 Rhino Dogs which I cooked up with the Wild Mustard into a Mustard Dog Basket!. I headed off to deliver it to Archmage Pentarus by the flight master in Dalaran but got distracted, went right by him with his big yellow ? over his head, and took off to do my daily's for The Kalu'ak. I ended up turning it in when I got back from doing all my daily's. I got my usual 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag. Today my Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices, 5 Old Spices and another Dalaran Cooking Award. I went to the cooking vendor to get the next recipe in my The Northrend Gourmet Achievement which I thought was Recipe: Spiced Wyrm Burger but when I went to buy it it said I already knew it. I checked in my recipe list and sure enough there it was. It was one of the first ones I got and, apparently, never cooked. I ended up getting the next one in the list which was Recipe: Spicy Fried Herring. I cooked them both up and now I am only 2 recipes away from my chef title. That turned out to be a nice surprise.

I got my daily's for The Kalu'ak done pretty quick today, got all the drops I needed really fast. I am now 14310/21000 reputation with them so it won't be much longer until I get the Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole. I went over to K3 in The Stormpeaks and did Overstock. As usual this quest only took me a few minutes and I collected my 13 gold and was on my way. I headed to Icecrown to do my Knights of the Ebon Blade daily's from there. I got those done pretty fast too, everything was dropping like clockwork and I breezed right through them. There are 6 that I do for them:

I get around 80 gold for all 6 of them. Today I forgot to do Shoot 'Em Up and had to go back and do it so that took me a few extra minutes. My reputation with the Knights of the Ebon Blade is 19045/21000. I am pretty close to being exalted with them too. It will not be tomorrow, it will be the next day. Then a few days after that I will be exalted with The Kalu'ak.

Sunday 2/22/09

The daily cooking today was Cheese for Glowergold again... I ran around Dalaran on Wranngar looking for Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses until I had the 6 I needed. I got the Aged Dalaran Limburger while I was in the cheese and wine shop looking for Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses. Once I had everything I needed I combined them and delivered them to Glowergold for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag. My Small Spice Bag only had 3 Northern Spices in it today, a rip off after having to collect all those Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses.

I did Shoot 'Em Up this morning for Knights of the Ebon Blade and turned that in before daily's rolled over so I was able to do it again today as part of my daily's. I did all the Ebon Blade daily's today which gets me around 80 gold plus whatever I make selling drops. I did my daily's for The Kalu'ak today and am over half way to exalted with them so it should be about 6 more days until I have my Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole. I did Overstock in Stormpeaks too, this quest takes 3 or 4 minutes from the time you pick it up until the time you turn it back in. You make around 13 gold from it, 12g96s to be exact, and suffer no equipment damage.

I did the daily fishing from Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest today, it was Bait Bandits. I headed over to my spot at the waterfall outside Tuurem and got my Blackfin Darter on the 9th cast. Didn't take me too long. I turned that in and got 7g15s72c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks, which I was running a little low on, and 2 Jaggal Pearls. Nothing good today. I did some fishing in the Underbelly, the sewers below Dalaran, today between battlegrounds trying for the Achievement I Smell A Giant Rat but didn't have any luck. I did catch: 68 Sewer Carp, 28 Magic Eaters, 7 Empty Vials, 6 Partially Eaten Fish, 6 Drowned Rat and 1 Leaded Vial. A lot of junk none of it what I needed.

Today's daily battleground was Warsong Gulch so I decided to skip it, I hate WSG. I fought in 15 Eye of the Storm battles instead, 10 wins and 5 losses. We started off not so well, we had 4 losses out of our first 9 battles but then we got back on track and started with the 4 caps and flag running. I got over 10,000 honor and was able to get another piece with my honor. I got Hateful Gladiator's Cloak of Victory for 38,000 honor. Next I will get the boots and then I will have to join an arena team to get the rest. I am not sure how I feel about having to do arena to get the PvP gear instead of being able to get it all from the battleground quartermaster but I was planning on doing arena anyway.

Wranngar 2/21/09

I got on Wranngar tonight and did the daily cooking first thing like I always do. It was Cheese for Glowergold today. This is my least favorite daily cooking quest. I ran around trying to get 6 Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses and that always takes awhile. I did my daily's for The Kalu'ak and now have 9310/21000 reputation with them, after I do them tomorrow I will be over half way. I get 1500 reputation a day doing the 3 quests they have, 500 rep each. It will be another 6 days or so until I am exalted and can get the Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole. That is moving along well :). I did all my Knights of the Ebon Blade daily's except Shoot 'Em Up which you really have to be in the mood for. I am usually not in the mood for it but do it anyway, today I really wasn't in the mood so I skipped it. I will probably do it again tomorrow as part of the group I do.

Daily's 2/20/09

I hopped on Wranngar and grabbed the daily cooking quest straight off which turned out to be Mustard Dogs!. I went in search of some Wild Mustard and soon found that everyone else on the server was looking for some too. I decided to do my daily's for The Kalu'ak and Knight's of the Ebon Blade while I waited for the frenzy to die down. I got all my daily's for The Kalu'ak done, I am over 8300/21000 rep now, and headed over to The Stormpeaks to do Overstock. This is a really easy fun daily that pays around 13 gold. Basically you set out mines and blow up Kobold's and Manataur's. Only takes a couple minutes and you're on your way. From there I headed over and did the Knight's of the Ebon Blade daily's. They take a little while, not too long, but you make some good gold from them, around 80 gold for all 6. Plus I am about half way through revered to exalted with them. They have a chest piece I want to get when I am exalted. I headed back to Dalaran and managed to get my 4 Wild Mustard in about 5 minutes so I cooked that up and turned it in. I got a Dalaran Cooking Award, a Small Spice Bag and 9g93s. My Small Spice Bag had 5 Northern Spices in it today so it was a pretty good haul. I did a little fishing after that and called it a night. The daily battleground was Warsong Gulch today so I decided to skip it. I hate WSG.

Wintergrasp 2/15/09

I got back on Wranngar to see if I could get one more Wintergrasp in tonight. I got lucky, the battle was starting in 13 minutes. I joined a raid group and we all got buffed up, ate, and got ready for battle. I put out a Fish Feast which is always a big hit in the battlegrounds. When we started I believe we had 2 full raid groups, that would be 80 people total, plus another raid group started. I don't know what, if any, the limit is in Wintergrasp. We got in there and basically dominated the Horde. We were on offense meaning we were attacking the Keep and we got in pretty quick. We wiped out all the Horde that were inside trying to defend and then assaulted the Keep itself. We got in in no time and won the battle. It went really quick. The last one I was in earlier I got in while it was in progress and it lasted twice as long as this one did and we lost. I had no deaths in this battle thanks mostly to some really good healers but I got a bunch of kills and killing blows in :). I got another Stone Keeper's Shard bringing my grand total to 8.

Daily's 2/12/09

I got on Wranngar tonight and did the daily battleground which was Strand of the Ancients today. I got into the first one a little after it started and we ended up losing that one. I don't know if it was just a really good Horde group or if we had a really bad group but it was over pretty quick. In the second one we had quite a battle and ended up getting our objective with about 1 minute 20 seconds left on the clock. I thought we were going to lose that one too because the Horde got to the objective pretty quick but they could not get the objective because we were holding them off. We ended up winning that one when the clock ran out. I turned that one in then fought in a couple Eye of the Storm battles. We won both of those, the first one took a little while and we had a 3 cap but the second one was a 4 cap. We won that one 2,000/87. I need to get back into Wintergrasp and do some more fighting in there for their marks but I never seem to be around when they announce it is open.

The daily cooking was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf again. This is the 5th or 6th day in a row now. I got my 4 Infused Mushrooms and cooked them up with a couple Chilled Meat to make my Meatloaf which I delivered in return for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag. Today my Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices in it and that was it. I have had better rewards and you would think if they are going to be too lazy to change the daily at least they could kick up the rewards a little.

Daily's 2/11/09

I jumped on Wranngar tonight and did the daily cooking which was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf AGAIN!!!... That one is getting old but I need the cooking awards to get the recipes so I just keep plugging away at them. I went down into the Underbelly and got my 4 Infused Mushrooms really fast, under 2 minutes. It was like no one was doing it. I just went to where I know they spawn and there they were. I cooked them up with a couple Chilled Meat and delivered my Infused Mushroom Meatloaf in exchange for a Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and a Small Spice Bag. Today my Small Spice Bag only had 4 Northern Spices. It could have been worse I guess.

Today's daily battleground was Eye of the Storm. We won the first one I was in and I fought in 7 total, 5 wins and 2 losses. One of our losses dragged on for 25 minutes. We had a lot of flagtards in that one, as soon as we had the second base they would ALL run to the flag leaving a base either unguarded or very poorly guarded. It was like that all night and I am surprised we won anything. The way to win in EoS is to get 3 towers and don't worry about the flag. The Horde will never be able to run enough flags to beat 3 towers clocking away. Once we have 3 towers you can try for the flag but not at the cost of leaving towers undefended. A lot of our wins were 2 towers and a fight for the flag the whole way, with us losing a tower and capturing another, the Horde losing a tower and capturing another, back and forth. Makes for some good fights and a lot of kills but tends to make the battles last a lot longer. I am getting close to getting another piece of armor.

Battlegrounds & More 2/10/09

Today's daily battleground was Alterac Valley again so I skipped it. Instead I fought in 9 Eye of the Storm on Wranngar, 4 wins and 5 losses. The Alliance wasn't having a good night in EoS at all. The main problem I saw was not that the Horde had good groups, it was all the flagtards on the Alliance side. When you only have one tower, and are on the verge of losing that because there are only a couple people defending it, you don't need 11+ people going after the flag. There have also been a lot of AFK in EoS which is unusual and really hurts the team because at 15x15 you need everyone down on the field fighting. I wanted to fight in Wintergrasp but I never got in there.

The daily cooking was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf again for the 4th or is it 5th day in a row..... Way to go Blizzard, way to throw a little variety in there so it dosen't get borning. Anyway I headed down into the Underbelly under Dalaran in search of Infused Mushrooms. I have been fishing down there lately and there is one that spawns in my favorite fishing spot so I headed over there and got it, then I started fishing and waited until it spawned again. After picking it I went back to fishing and so on until I had the 4 I needed. I grabbed a couple Chilled Meat out of the bank and cooked it up. When I had my Infused Mushroom Meatloaf I delivered it, I have no problem finding the place as I have been going there for the last 4 or 5 days, in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag which had 3 Northern Spices and another Dalaran Cooking Award in it. Not a bad haul today and tomorrow I will be able to get another recipe. The will only leave 7 left.

I fished some during the daily cooking and then some more between battles. I didn't get the Giant Sewer Rat but I did get a bunch of other stuff. I got 36 Sewer Carp, 11 Magic Eaters, 5 Drowned Rats, 3 Partially Eaten Fish, 2 Empty Vials, 1 Leaded Vial and 1 Crystal Vial. Nothing worth anything today but eventually I will get the Giant Sewer Rat, I just have to keep plugging away at it. I have been going between battles to break things up a little, that way I don't get bored of the battlegrounds and don't get too, too bored fishing.

Battlegrounds 2/8/09

The daily battleground today was WSG. I skipped it, I hate WSG. I really need to get in there though and work on Wranngar's rep. I fought in 20 Eye of the Storm and 2 Arathi Battles instead. We lost both the AB battles but we did better in EoS, winning 15 and losing 5. We had a bunch of 4 caps and all the rest were three caps and flag running. In the 5 losses we had bad groups. They would leave a node undefended so 14 of them could go after the flag. I got the Achievement The Perfect Storm today when we won one of the battles 2000/0. The AB battles I was in were just bad groups, they were everywhere and not defending nodes. Nodes were being left empty before they even capped.

I did the daily cooking in Dalaran which was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf. I headed down into the sewers in search of 4 Infused Mushrooms. I got them really fast, it was like no one was doing it. I've been doing some fishing in the Underbelly, in the sewers under Dalaran, trying to catch a Giant Sewer Rat for the I Smell A Giant Rat Achievement. It is not a common drop so it could take awhile to get it. In the last couple days I have caught a lot of things down in the sewers, I have caught:

6 Partially Eaten Fish
8 Drowned Rat
5 Leaded Vial
1 Imbued Vial
1 Crystal Vial
1 Enchanted Vial

Not a Giant Sewer Rat in the bunch though. I will keep plugging away at this when I have a little extra time, maybe when the battleground queues get too long. I have been putting the vials and Magic Eaters in the guild bank for anyone who wants or can use them. I have 4 tabs and they are almost full. I have a tendency to be a pack rat. There is a lot of level 55-80 buff food in there, more than a tab full. It is nice that I kept it stocked up because now that I am leveling Gomorra to 80 I have a lot of buff food for him. Some he can't eat until 75 but a lot of it he can.

Daily's & Stuff 2/2/09

I went out this morning and did a bunch of "harvesting" for materials on Wranngar. I killed and skinned a bunch of Mammoths and got a lot of Borean Leather as well as a bunch of meat. I am trying to stock up a little bit on the stuff I use the most so I don't have to go out and farm meat to do a daily or cook a new recipe. When the daily's rolled over I did the daily cooking in Dalaran which was Convention at the Legerdemain. I headed to the guild bank and got 4 Northern Stew then headed over to the wine shop and got a jug of wine. There weren't too many people doing it when I was and it spawned pretty quick for me. I turned it in and got my Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and Small Spice Bag. The Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices and 3 Baby Spice in it. I stopped by Shattrath to see Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest, and picked up the quest for Crocolisks in the City which had me heading to Stormwind to catch a Baby Crocolisk. I got one on my 12th cast and headed back to turn it in. When I turned it in I got my Bag of Fishing Treasures which had 6g97s57c, 6 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Broken Spyglass.

I headed over to K3 and grabbed Overstock, a really fast and easy daily I try to do every day. I got that done in a few minutes and collected around 13 gold. From there I headed over to The Shadow Vault in Icecrown to grab the daily's from the Knights of the Ebon Blade. I picked up Leave Our Mark, Shoot 'Em Up and Vile Like Fire!. Once I had those I headed over to Death's Rise and got From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone and Intelligence Gathering. These are the ones I usually do. I am revered with the Knights of the Ebon Blade and when I am exalted they have a nice chest piece that will hold me over until I get my PvP gear. Each of these daily's pay around 13g20s each.

I checked to see what the daily was and found it to be Alterac Valley so I didn't bother. I did some Eye of the Storm battles instead. I fought in 12 battles, 8 wins and 4 losses. I just got in with some bad groups on the 4 losses, a lot of AFK and people who didn't seem to know what to do but in the others I had some really good groups and a couple great groups. We had 7 wins in a row, 2 of which were 4 caps. We were running the flag and holding at least 3 towers most of the time, we were dominating. Then we had 4 losses in a row. The last one I was in was a win but we won it by holding 2 towers and running the flag which is the long hard way to win but win we did. I ended up throwing out 28 Eye of the Storm Mark of Honor because I just can't carry any more.
