Feeling Crabby?

Feeling Crabby? is one of the new Cata daily cooking quests obtained from Robby Flay (50,71) in Stormwind City. For those without coord's he is located right outside the Stockades.

Description:

Fresh crab legs have always been one of the King's favorite foods. We have had good luck catching fresh crabs in the canals over the past few weeks. Do you think you can lend me a hand and catch a few of them for me? Be sure to catch them alive, they are no good to me dead, the King requires the freshest catch we can muster.

Like all the Cata daily cooking quests this takes place right in, or immediately around, Stormwind. For this one you will be jumping in the canals and collecting 10 Canal Crabs. You will find them running around in the bottom of the canals. You need to remember to surface for breath once in awhile while you're doing this one. The crabs are tiny and move pretty fast so you have to be quick.

Once you have the 10 Canal Crabs, return to Robby Flay and turn them in for your reward. For completing this one you will receive 9g40s, 1 skill point to your cooking skill, 2 Chef's Awards and 250 rep with Stormwind. This is worth it just for the 2 Chef's Awards alone. You will need the Chef's Awards to buy the Cata recipes that cost either 3 or 5 Chef's Awards each.

The King's Cider

One of the new Cataclysm daily cooking quests, available from Robby Flay (50,71) in Stormwind City, is The King's Cider. For those without coord's he is located right outside The Stockades. Like all the cooking quests, this is completed in, or immediately around, Stormwind City.

Description:

I am forever in debt to our King for all that he has done for us. One thing I can do for him is make his favorite drink! Lucky for us, the ingredients we need to make this wonderful drink are located right here in Stormwind City. Apple trees can be found in every district of Stormwind. These trees are too tall to pick the fruit from, but lucky for us the apples have fallen to the ground and are easy to retrieve.

This one has you running around the city picking up apples from beneath apple trees. You need to gather 12. The apples can be found under apple trees along the canals and in the various areas of the city. One place you shouldn't overlook is Cathedral Square, there are a bunch of apple trees there. You will generally get 2 or 3 from beneath each tree. Of course that depends on how long it has been since someone was there picking them up.

Once you have 12, you return to Robby Flay and turn them in. For this daily you will receive 9g40s, 250 reputation with Stormwind, 2 points to your cooking skill and a Chef's Award which you need to buy the Cataclysm recipes. The recipes cost either 3 awards or 5 awards.

That is really all there is to this one and if it takes you more than 5 minutes from start to finish you are doing something wrong.

Shealin - Level 29 Fire Mage - 6/28/10

I worked on Shealin some tonight and got her to level 29, she is coming along nicely. I did a few quests but mostly dungeons.

I did a couple runs through Stormwind Stockade, a couple more through Razorfen Kraul and a couple through Gnomeregan. I get a lot of XP out of the dungeons, that is how I was able to get 6 levels tonight.

I had to leave one of the runs in Razorfen Kraul I was in because I was lagging so bad I couldn't loot or cast. I was having some serious problems with lagg earlier in the day but it straightened out later on. It was so bad that I would try to loot something and it would take up to 2 minutes for the loot window to open. When it finally did everyone disappeared because they were not lagging and I had to go find them. I would try to cast a spell at something and I would just stand there with my hands flaming until it finally said my target was dead without me even casting anything. I got sick of that pretty fast and logged off for awhile. When I got back on it was better.

We had a really bad time in one of the Gnomeregan runs I was on. I lost count of how many times we wiped but it was a lot. We had a so-so tank and a Hunter that kept pulling stuff. At one point he pulled what must have been 20 mobs at one time. We were towards the end and I didn't even think there were that many mobs left alive in there. Needless to say that was another wipe. Then, all of a sudden, the Hunter left. We didn't have any more problems after that. By the time we finished I had two pieces of gear that were red and two that were yellow. I came across a couple graphics glitches in Gnomer and have attached one.

I am in no hurry to level this one up and am having a good time playing it so I think I will keep doing mostly dungeons to get my levels as they are the most fun.

Shealin - Level 23 Fire Mage

I figured it would be quite awhile before I started another toon, I was wrong. I got bored the other day and decided to try a Mage. I made Shealin, equipped her with the 5 pieces of BoA (Bind on Account) gear, I had from Brieonna, and started leveling it.

It is funny that I am excited about hitting 60 DPS after getting almost 5,000 DPS out of my Shaman Breeonna.

I am not putting any kind of time frame on getting this one to 80, I am just going to level it and enjoy it, no pressure. I figure I will still get it to 80 in 10-12 days /played anyway, that seems to be the casual time for me to get a toon to 80 now.

I have been doing a lot of rendom dungeons on her and have been topping the DPS meter in most of them. Of course I have about 1,000+ gearscore over most the people I am doing the dungeons with so I should be topping the meters.

I got a mount yesterday when I hit 20 and that makes a lot of difference, it sure beats running anyway.

I will be leveling this toon after I do my daily heroics and some daily's on my other toons so it will probably take me awhile to get to 80. That's ok, there is no rush.

Breeonna 3/22/10

The past couple days I have been working on getting Breeonna leveled up. That is going really well, I leveled her up 8 levels in 2 days, from 18 to 26.

I have been doing quests, yellow, orange and red ones only, I drop them if they turn green. That ensures me maximum experience gains from each quest I do. I have also been doing dungeons on her. Today I ended up in Wailing Caverns for the random daily. That wasn't too bad, I had done that one before on Wranngar, the only problem was our tank had a Gear Score (GS) of 5... Gear Score is used to determine the quality of a persons gear. 5 is not good. To give you an example Breeonna, at level 26, has a Gear Score of 800. Our tank was wearing gray and white gear, some of it was the stuff you are born with. Needless to say we didn't get that random done. I have also done Deadmines, Shadowfang Keep and Stockades, all of those went well. I did Shadowfang Keep twice yesterday.

I am now going to be questing in Duskwood before moving on to Stranglethorn Vale.

Gomorra 6/14/08

I dropped Jewelcrafting on Gomorra today and learned Enchanting. This will be far less costly than trying to level up Jewelcrafting, which can run into thousands of gold from where I was. Now I have to go around and look for low level items to disenchant. I did one run through Dead Mines (VC), a low level instance, to get some low level greens and I am sure I will do a bunch more before I am done. I think the lower level instances are the place for me to be right now as I can get all the greens I need and can run them solo without any problem. Once I stop getting points from disenchanting things I get from there I will move into Shadowfang Keep (SFK), another low level instance, where I will get items a little higher in level. After that I guess it would be Scarlet Monastery (SM) and keep working my way up from there. I will also get points from enchanting items and will probably give those away free at the start just to level up my skill.

Update: I did another Dead Mines run and then a run through the Stockades, another low level instance, to get items to disenchant. The Dead Mines run was good, got a lot of green items and some more blues but the Stockades was a waste of time, I got 2 green items and a Moss Agate, hardly worth the 20 minutes it took. On the plus side I got Gomorra's enchanting up to 75. I am sick of running through these instances for now so I will do some more tomorrow and see if I can get it up to 150.
