Black Temple

I had the opportunity to run the Black Temple the other night. It is a level 70, 25 man raid located in Shadowmoon Valley, that I had never done before. We had a group of 21 players with about 35% level 75+. There is a lot of nice scenery in Black Temple as in most the dungeons/raids. From what I understand a lot of the older dungeons/raids are going to be changing in Cataclysm.

Here's a little history on the Black Temple:

The Black Temple is the fortress of Illidan Stormrage, the lord of the Outlands. It was once known as the Temple of Karabor and has changed hands many times over the years. This raid drops Teir 6 and also drops the legendary Twin Blades of Azzinoth. The entrance to Black Temple is not at the gates but through a breech in the southern wall.

You used to have to be attuned to run this raid but attunement is no longer required.

Before the shattering of Draenor the Black Temple was once called the Temple of Karabor which was a sacred site of the Draenei. Shortly after the formation of the Horde, Gul'dan ordered the temple to be taken and made it into the headquarters for the Shadow Council. They also named it the Black Temple in the process.

Following his defeat to Arthas Menethil, Illidan returned to the Black Temple where he resides today. Neither his activities or mental state are known at this time. While Malfurion has stated that Illidan has become mad and delusional, believing that he killed Arthas and accomplished the mission Kil'jaeden had sent him on. If Illidan has descended into madness and believes he accomplished his mission it would make no sense for him to worry about Arthas or Kil'jaeden coming after him; he would believe the former dead, and the latter appeased. But then again, those afflicted by madness rarely make sense.

So that is what we walked into. Overall we didn't really have a problem and moved through it quickly and smoothly. A few of the lower level players died a couple times but we really didn't have that many deaths and no wipes. Due to the higher levels present we were able to pull whole rooms at a time. I can see how this would be a pretty tough raid if everyone was level 70, it sure wouldn't have went as fast and smooth as it did I am sure. Unfortunately the Twin Blades of Azzinoth did not drop. I have been playing WoW for 4 years (December 1st) and have yet to see a legendary drop. Here are some screen shots I took during the Campaign.

Daily's 6/23/08

I did all my Shattered Sun daily's on Wranngar today along with Gaining the Advantage and The Multiphase Survey in Nagrand, Blast the Gateway and Blood for Blood at the Throne of Kil'Jaeden, Sunfury Attack Plans in Netherstorm and Ata'mal Armaments in Shadowmoon Valley. I did the daily fishing, which was Felblood Fillet again, and cooking, which was Manalicious, on both Wranngar and Gomorra. With those I was able to send about 260 gold to the bank today. I got the daily fishing from Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and the daily cooking from The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath then headed to the Pools of Aggonar (39,37) in Hellfire Peninsula to catch my Monstrous Felblood Snapper. I got him in 7 casts on Gomorra and 14 casts on Wranngar. From there I headed over to the Sunfury Post to do Sunfury Attack Plans which I got on both in only a few kills. From there it was off to Eco-Dome Midrealm to pick Mana Berries for the daily cooking. I went to Nagrand on Wranngar from there to do my skinning and The Multiphase Survey then headed back to Shattrath to turn in. For the cooking I am picking Barrel of Fish this week and Wranngar got 4 Furious Crawdad, 4 Golden Darter and a Fisherman Knife in his while Gomorra got 6 Zangarian Sporefish, 4 Figluster's Mudfish and a pair of Moldy Leather Boots in his. They both got the 7g59s that this daily pays too. I also picked up a few recipes at the auction house today on Wranngar that he didn't have. For the fishing Wranngar got 7g9s77c, 2 Elixir of Water Walking and a Rusted Lock. Gomorra got 6g57s27c, 2 Elixir of Water Walking and a Rusted Lock. Nothing good there at all. There are still a lot of good rewards to be had from the daily fishing so I will keep at it.

Daily's 6/22/08

I did some daily's today, I did the cooking and fishing on both Wranngar and Gomorra and I also did Gaining the Advantage on Wranngar and Sunfury Attack Plans, Ata'mal Armaments, Blast the Gateway and Blood for Blood on Gomorra. Yonezoe did those 4 with me and then logged onto Axeelina and did the daily cooking with Gomorra. The daily cooking today was Soup for the Soul again, I got the mats I needed from the guild vault for Wranngar, Gomorra and Axeelina and we headed over to the Ancestral Grounds (25,59) in Nagrand and cooked up our soup. When I turned that in to The Rokk (61,15) in Shattrath I picked Crate of Meat as my reward on both, starting tomorrow I will be picking Barrel of Fish for the whole week. Wranngar got 8 pieces of Serpent Flesh, 8 pieces of Warped Flesh and a Large Hoof while Gomorra got 8 pieces of Warped Flesh, 8 pieces of Buzzard Meat and a Hunting Knife. Not much good in either of those rewards but I believe I have gotten all the recipes on both now so the meat and fish is really all I have to look forward to unless they have some seasonal recipes or add more. Then I headed over to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and got the daily fishing quest which was Felblood Fillet. I flew over to the Pools of Aggonar (39,37) in Hellfire Peninsula on Wranngar to catch my Monstrous Felblood Snapper and took Gomorra to Shadowmoon Valley (40,59) to catch his. I turned them in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures and Wranngar got 6g82s60c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and 2 pieces of Salvaged Scrap Metal. Gomorra got 7g17s94c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Razor Sharp Fillet Knife which I sold to a vendor for 4 gold and some silver. Not a great day for rewards today, better luck tomorrow.

Yonezoe 6/21/08

Yonezoe hit 70 today :), congratulations to her. We started in Netherstorm but were questing in Shadowmoon Valley when she hit it so she was able to get her 300 riding skill and epic flying mount right there. I was along on Wranngar. I am glad that is finally over. I am definitely going to take a long break before I start another character. Now that she is 70 we can go back to doing daily quests and making some gold along with raiding and battlegrounds so she can get some good gear.

Daily Fishing 6/14/08

Today's daily fishing was Felblood Fillet, looks like I only got a one day break from that. I did it on both Wranngar and Gomorra. I went to the Pools of Aggonar (39,37) in Hellfire Peninsula on Wranngar and Shadowmoon Valley (40,59) on Gomorra to fish for the Monstrous Felblood Snapper. I got one on the 6th cast on Wranngar in Hellfire Peninsula and the 1st cast on Gomorra in Shadowmoon Valley. Then I went back and turned in to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. Wranngar's had 6g97s71c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and 2 pieces of Salvaged Scrap Metal, nothing too exciting there. Gomorra's had 6g84s19c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks, 2 Jaggal Pearls and Spun Truesilver Fishing Line. The Spun Truesilver Fishing Line permanently adds +3 to your fishing skill so that was a nice, useful reward :).

Daily Fishing 6/9/08

Today's daily fishing quest was Felblood Fillet again. I flew over to Shadowmoon Valley on Wranngar and caught a Monstrous Felblood Snapper (40,59) on my 7th cast. I went back to Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and turned it in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. Today it contained 7g47s74c, 2 Elixir's of Water Walking and 4 Mote's of Water. Not good but not too bad either, the Mote's of Water will come in handy when Gomorra needs to make some more Primal Mooncloth for another Primal Mooncloth Bag bag for Wranngar. He has 3, only needs one more :).

Daily Fishing 6/8/08

I did the daily fishing quest on both Gomorra and Wranngar today. It was Felblood Fillet. I got the quest from Old Man Barlo (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and flew over to Shadowmoon Valley to catch a Monstrous Felblood Snapper. I got one on my first cast on Wranngar and my second cast on Gomorra. I went back to Old Man Barlo and turned it in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. Wranngar's had, 7g22s96c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hook's and a Razor Sharp Fillet Knife. Gomorra's Bag of Fishing Treasures had, 6g52s84c, 3 Elixir's of Water Walking, a pair of Antique Silver Cufflinks which I sold to a vendor for 11 gold and a Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat. The fishing hat is one of the reason's I do the daily fishing quest even though most of the rewards are nothing to talk about. This hat gives +5 to fishing skill and you can use it to attach a lure to your fishing pole to increase skill by 75. With the hat on (+5) plus Seth's Graphite Fishing Pole (+20), a Sharpened Fish Hook (+100) and my 375 fishing skill on Gomorra my top end fishing skill is now 500 :).

Daily Fishing 6/4/08

I did the daily fishing on Wranngar and Gomorra today, it was Felblood Fillet again. I flew over to Shadowmoon Valley and caught a Monstrous Felblood Snapper on the first cast for each. Then I had to fly back to Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and turn it in to Old Man Barlo who gives the daily fishing quests. In Wranngar's Bag of Fishing Treasures there was 7g43s49c, Sharpened Fish Hookx6 and a Giant Shark Tooth. Certainly nothing to get excited about there. On the plus side I don't have to buy any more Aquadynamic Fish Attractor's as I get the Sharpened Fish Hook's from the daily and they do the same thing, +100 to fishing skill for 10 minutes. Gomorra had, in his Bag of Fishing Treasures, 6g59s63c, Elixir of Water Walkingx6 and Jaggal Pearlx2. Once again nothing to get excited about. The Elixir of Water Walking is ok but as a Druid Wranngar can breath under water in water form and Gomorra being a Warlock has Unending Breath allowing him to breath under water. Plus Yonezoe being a Shaman can give me the buff to walk on water so I put those in the Guild Vault for anyone who wants them. Not a great day of fishing but you have to take the good with the bad. Yesterday's catch of a Weather-Beaten Journal will make up for a lot of bad day's of fishing :). Plus a bad day of fishing is better than a good day in WSG anyway.

Daily Fishing 6/3/08

I did the daily fishing quest on Gomorra and Wranngar. It was Felblood Fillet today and I had to fly out to Shadowmoon Valley to catch a Monstrous Felblood Snapper. I got him in 4 casts on Wranngar and my first cast on Gomorra. The time consuming part of this quest was the flying back and forth. Gomorra's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 6g95s35c, Sharpened Fish Hookx4, a Broken Spyglass which I sold to a vendor for 2 gold and a Weather-Beaten Journal which made all the travel time worth it, now I can track fish on Gomorra too :). Wranngar's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 6g80s49c, Elixir of Water Walkingx2 and a Silver Statuette which I sold to a vendor for 15 gold. All in all not a bad day of fishing :).

Daily Fishing - Wranngar 5/31/08

I got to do a daily fishing quest in Outlands on Wranngar for the first time today, it was Felblood Fillet. I flew out to Shadowmoon Valley and caught what I needed in a few casts then flew back and handed it in. I got my Bag of Fishing Treasures which contained 7g79s and Sharpened Fish Hookx5. Nothing too exciting today, I am still holding out for the good stuff :). I was pretty happy to finally be able to do the daily fishing quest on Wranngar.

Daily Fishing 5/30/08

I did the daily fishing on Gomorra today. It was Felblood Fillet. I flew out to Shadowmoon Valley and caught one on my third cast. I went back and turned in the quest and got my "Bag of Fishing Treasures". It contained 6g79s87c, Elixir of Water Walkingx3 and Jaggal Pearlx2. Not very good rewards but you have the chance of getting some really good rewards from the daily fishing quest.

Daily's 5/24/08

I did all my Shattered Sun daily's on both Wranngar and Gomorra today. I also did my daily's in Hellfire Peninsula, Nagrand and Shadowmoon Valley on Wranngar and my Nagrand daily on Gomorra. It took a little while but I got them done and made some gold :). Altogether today I made about 350 gold between the two. I fell about 100 gold short of what I make if I do them all on both but still, not bad.

Daily Fishing Quest Gomorra 5/17/08

I did the daily fishing quest on Gomorra today. It was Felblood Fillet. I had to fly to Shadowmoon Valley and fish there until I caught a Monstrous Felblood Snapper. It was pretty fast and easy, it only took me 3 casts to get it :). I turned it in but I didn't get anything good for a reward. I did get 6g72s36c in my reward bag along with some fish hooks that increase fishing by 100 for 10 minutes. I could not do this one on Wranngar today because it required fishing in Outlands and Wranngar does not have the fishing skill to fish in Outlands yet.

Daily's Gomorra 5/10/08

I did most of my daily's on Gomorra today. I did all the Shattered Sun and most of the Outlands. I did the daily cooking quest but didn't get a recipe again today :(. I helped out a friend Yacob with a Netherwing quest while I was in Shadowmoon Valley. Altogether today I made about 180 gold on Gomorra.

Daily's Gomorra 5/9/08

I did all my Shattered Sun daily's on Gomorra today along with Shadowmoon Valley, Throne of Kil'Jaeden and the daily cooking. The daily cooking today was Revenge is Tasty again. I picked Barrel of Fish for my reward and pretty much just got some garbage fish I don't even know if I can use. There are only a couple more recipes I need on each and then I will stop doing the daily cooking until they come out with some new recipes as rewards. All together I made around 170 gold today with Gomorra. I also started making cloth again, I made 2 pieces of Shadow Cloth, one piece of Spell Cloth and one piece of Primal Mooncloth. The Primal Mooncloth I will use to make myself a 20 slot bag but the Shadow Cloth and Spell Cloth I will either sell or trade for Primal Mooncloth. It takes 32 days to make 8 pieces of Primal Mooncloth to make a 20 slot bag, there is a 4 day cooldown for each piece.

Daily's Wranngar 5/8/08

I did all my daily's on Wranngar today, Shattered Sun, Shadowmoon Valley, Throne of Kil'Jaeden, Blades Edge and Nagrand. Axeelina did the Outlands quests with me. All together I made a little over 350 gold today. I paid Axeelina the last 1,000 gold I owed her so I am all square and sending gold to the bank again :).

Daily's 5/6/08

I did my daily's on both Wranngar and Gomorra today. I did all of them on Wranngar and did the Shattered Sun, Throne of Kil'Jaeden and Shadowmoon Valley on Gomorra. Axeelina did the outlands quests with me on Wranngar and Jacedic did the Shadowmoon Valley one with us. All together I made about 450 gold. I am on track to pay Axeelina back in full tomorrow :).

Daily's 5/5/08

I did all my daily's on Wranngar today. Axeelina did a lot of the Outlands ones with me. We helped Jacedic with a couple things in Shadowmoon Valley. Jacedic hit level 70 today :). It is quite an accomplishment. I guess starting tomorrow he will be doing the daily's with us. I did all my Shattered Sun daily's on Gomorra. The daily battleground today was Warsong Gulch. I did it on Wranngar and it took me 4 battles before I got a win. Wasn't liking WSG today. All together I made a little over 400g.

Daily's 4/15/08

I only did the daily's on Wranngar today. I did all my daily's in Shattered Sun Staging Area, Throne of Kil'Jaeden and Shadowmoon valley. It didn't take me too long and I made 137g72s. Getting closer to my 300 riding skill :).

Daily's 4/13/08

I did most of my daily's on Wranngar and Gomorra today. I did the Daily's at The Throne of Kil'Jaeden on Wranngar with Axeelina because she didn't log in until later today. I did Gaining the Advantage, Blood for Blood and Blast the Gateway in Outlands plus Ata'mal Armaments in Shadowmoon Valley. I also did my Shattered Sun Staging Area quests, Arm the Wards!, Further Conversions, The Battle Must Go On, Taking the Harbor, Making Ready, Know Your Key Lines, The Air Strikes Must Continue and Intercept the Reinforcements. All together I made 283g03s, not a bad day :)
