The daily fishing quest today, Felblood Fillet, had Wranngar heading out to Hellfire Peninsula to the Pools of Aggonar (39,37) to catch a Monstrous Felblood Snapper. It took me 23 casts but I finally got one. I took it back and handed it in to Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. When I opened that I got 7g41s71c, 6 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Rusted Lock. I don't know what the deal is with the Rusted Locks but I have gotten one in the last 3 bags I got. As you can see there was nothing great today, maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow.

Battlegrounds 8/25/08
Today's battleground was Arathi Basin, I did it on Wranngar. It took me 5 battles to get it done, I had 4 bad groups but the first one was the worst. Me and one other person went to the gold mine while the rest went to the farm, they bypassed the lumber mill and even bypassed the stables, yeah, we didn't even get the stables. The only node we held during that battle was the gold mine after awhile. I have never seen a more dysfunctional group in all the battlegrounds I have fought in. These had to have been the stupidest people I have ever had the misfortune to group with. It was a complete wipe... Nap time was certainly over and all the kiddies were in full swing. There was one loser in that one, Tanukibushi, who thought he was something but his crap blue gear and 7,000 lifetime kills said otherwise. It didn't stop him from shooting his mouth off though. If I was so poorly geared I would keep my mouth shut and hope no one noticed me but he obviously wasn't that smart. The next 3 battles weren't that much better but the 3rd one was close. Finally in the 5th battle we had a decent group and had a 3-4 cap going on most the time. I am not really sure what the problem is, school is back in but I must be playing when all the kids get out or something because the quality of player has really gone downhill. The battlegrounds are getting so bad now, all of them, that I think I am going to take a break for awhile.

Battlegrounds 8/23/08
Today's daily battleground was Warsong Gulch. I did it on Wranngar and it took me 4 battles before I got it done. I had 3 crap groups in a row before I finally got one that knew what they were doing and were decently geared. In the first 3 groups it seemed like they were there farming kills which is stupid, you go into AV to farm kills, not WSG, but they were all in the middle and when the Horde had our flag in their base I was the only one that went after it. There was also no defense on our side either. Finally in the 4th group we had good defense and good offense. On the one occasion where the Horde actually got our flag into their base we got it back right away. I did one more after that, another loss. I only need 9 more marks from there to get maxed out at 100 and I can't wait, then I can put that place behind me for awhile. I only need 10 more marks from AB before I am maxed out there too, that will be a relief. After that I did one AV, it was a loss and all I could stand.
Stupidity was running rampant. The Alliance took SHGY at the start and held it almost to the end. Of course that caused a turtle and loss as it always does. There is no getting through to people I guess and this seems to be an act of stupidity that is there to stay as it is happening almost constantly lately. Maybe I will start another character instead of wasting my time in battlegrounds until people smarten up and start leaving SHGY alone. As usual the Alliance was plagued with AFK too.

Daily Fishing 8/23/08
I did the daily fishing on Wranngar today, it was Shrimpin' Ain't Easy. Turns out it was pretty easy today. This had me heading over to my spot at Umbrafen Lake (78,74) in Zangarmarsh. It took me 13 casts to get enough Bloated Barbed Gill Trout to give me enough Giant Freshwater Shrimp. Once I had the 10 I needed I headed back over to Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and turned them in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. When I opened that up I got 7g10s45c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Rusted Lock. What's up with the Rusted Locks lately? Anyway you can see there was nothing exciting today but there are still a lot of good rewards to be had so I will keep plugging away at it.

Daily Fishing 8/22/08
Today's daily fishing was Crocolisks in the City, I did it on Wranngar. I grabbed the quest then headed to my spot by in the canals in Stormwind. It didn't take too long today, I got one on my 7th cast but my hearthstone was used up so I did some battlegrounds out of Stormwind until it was cooled off. Once my heathstone was cool I headed back to Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest, and turned my Baby Crocolisk in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. That contained 6g75s62c, 6 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Rusted Lock, certainly nothing exciting today.
Battlegrounds 8/22/08
Today's daily battleground was Warsong Gulch, which I did on Wranngar. I got lucky and hit a good group in my first battle, we won that one and got my daily done. I ended up fighting in 7 battles in WSG altogether, 4 wins and 3 losses. I had some good groups and some bad groups. The worst one was the one that took 35 minutes to complete and we lost 2/3 at the end. There is just not enough honor involved to make a battle that long worthwhile. Anyway I got the 11g99s this daily pays plus the 419 extra honor and, of course, the 3 Warsong Gulch Mark of Honor for winning. I then fought in 3 AV's, all losses. It is AV's holiday weekend and the weekend warriors and AFKers were out in force.
The new thing now is to take and hold SHGY for some reason which always results in a loss unless the Horde team is really, really bad which usually they are not. I made up a little saying that I post at the start if the battle but it doesn't seem to help, "Dick took SHGY, Dick cost the Alliance the battle, don't be a Dick, LEAVE SHGY ALONE!". I also fought in one AB which was a win. It was close and I thought we were going to lose all throughout the battle, everyone was so spread out, but somehow in the end we ended up with a 5 cap for the win. I write that one off to a really bad Horde group. That was all the time I had for battlegrounds.

Daily's 8/21/08
The only daily I did today was the fishing, I did it on Wranngar and it was Bait Bandits. After I picked it up from Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest I headed over to my spot at the waterfall by Tuurem and got the Blackfin Darter I needed on the first cast. When I turned it in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures I got 7g44s65c, 6 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Giant Shark Tooth. Certainly nothing to write home about but I will keep plugging away at it.
Battlegrounds 8/21/08
Today's battleground was Warsong Gulch. I did it on Wranngar and we won the first one I was in. It didn't look good at the start but we managed to pull it off somehow, I capped one flag. I got the 11g99s and 419 extra honor this daily pays plus the 3 Warsong Gulch Mark of Honor you get for winning. After that I did one EoS, we lost. I got in late and you could see there was no teamwork, a few people trying for one tower, a few trying for another, they managed to hold one and we didn't get another before it ended. After that I went into AV. I fought in 13 battles, 6 wins and 7 losses. Sad to say that is pretty good for Alliance in AV these days. We had 2 losses where people took and held SHGY which is a guaranteed loss and one win where they took it and we won on reinforcements. The only reason we pulled that off was the Horde team was pretty bad.
It would have only taken about 10 minutes if they hadn't taken SHGY, and we would have killed Drek for extra honor, but it ended up taking over 45 minutes after they did. After that the winning plan seemed to be rushing FWGY, then hitting FWRH and having the people that died in the initial rush get TP and IBT. The other losses were just poor teamwork. As usual there were a lot of AFK in all the battles. No surprise as Blizzard doesn't seem to be doing anything about that problem.
Battlegrounds 8/20/08
Today's daily battleground was Eye of the Storm, I did it on Wranngar and got it done on my second battle. The first battle was pretty close but, once again, people were more interested in getting the flag than holding the towers so we went from a nice lead to losing by 200 resources..... In the second battle I had a better group and we held 3 towers throughout and had the 4th tower at the end, we won by 1600+ resources. The daily battleground pays 11g99s, 419 honor above and beyond what you get in the battle and of course I got the 3 Eye of the Storm Mark of Honor. After that I headed into Alterac Valley for 6 more battles, 3 wins and 3 losses. We got our wins by rushing FWGY then moving forward into FW Keep and taking the RH and towers there. The people that died and got sent back to DB came along and got IBT and TP and once we had at least 3 towers capped we killed Drek. In our losses the biggest problem is still people going for Galv at the start.
This breaks our offense apart and really gives the Horde a chance to take down the smaller number of people trying to get through to FW Keep. And there was one battle where the Allaince took and held SHGY. How long has it been since patch 2.4 came out and people are still making the same stupid mistakes? It is pretty sad that people can not learn from their mistakes. As usual we had a lot of AFK in all the AV battles and a couple in the EoS battle too. The AFK problem is really getting out of control. I know Blizzard doesn't want to offend the AFKers, they are paying customers, but the people that are trying to win are getting pretty pissed off and they should think about that too.
Daily's 8/20/08
I did the daily fishing today on Wranngar, it was Felblood Fillet. I headed over to my spot at the Pools of Aggonar (39,37) in Hellfire Peninsula to catch my Monstrous Felblood Snapper and got one on the 12th cast. I headed back to Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest and turned it in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. I got 7g36s87c, 5 Sharpened Fish Hooks and 3 Jaggal Pearls. Nothing great today.

Daily Fishing 8/19/08
Today's daily fishing was The One That Got Away, I did it on Wranngar. I got the quest and headed out to my spot at Lake Sunspring (34,43) in Nagrand and started fishing. I got the World's Largest Mudfish on my 3rd cast so that was quick and easy. I headed back to Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest, and turned it in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures. In there I found 6g51s13c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Razor Sharp Fillet Knife which I sold to a vendor for 4g28s. Nothing exciting today but I will keep plugging away at it.
Battlegrounds 8/19/08
Today's battleground was Arathi Basin. I am not sure what the Alliances problem is lately in ALL battlegrounds but it was another pathetic day in the battlegrounds for the Alliance. It took me 9 battles on Wranngar to get my daily done, 9 battles before we had a win :(. Nap time must have been over and the kiddies were rearing to go it seems. People could not be content with holding the 3 nodes you need for the win, they had to spread out with 2 going to one and 3 going to another, fighting on the roads which leads to nothing and basically leaving one person to defend a node if any at all. When the Horde comes in to take a node they come in 5 or 6 so one person doesn't last long. Anyway we won the 9th battle I was in and I was able to finally get out of there. After that I did some Eye of the Storm, we weren't doing a whole lot better in there. I was in 5 battles, 3 wins and 2 losses. Once again people seemed to be more interested in getting the flag than they were in capping and defending towers. The way to win in EoS is to have at least 3 towers THEN run the flag. We had people, half the team, going for the flag when we didn't even have a tower, tell me those aren't little kids. They would get the flag and have nowhere to go with it. I did 5 AV's also and that was just horrible. We had one win and 4 losses. People were not working together and, of course, they were going for Galv first. In one battle, loss, at least 10 people went for Galv, breaking down the offense, and didn't even kill him, then everyone ended up back in DB and decided to stay there and turtle. In the one battle we did win we won by rushing FWGY then getting FWRH, FW Towers and TP. After we had those capped we killed Drek. Most of our losses the Horde won on reinforcements.
The Alliance wins about 1 in 20 wins on reinforcements but people are still arguing that we need the 100 reinforcements Galv knocks off the Horde. It is crazy. There was a lot of AFK in all the battles I was in, the AFK problem now is worse than it has ever been in spite of Blizzard "working" on the problem. In the attached screen shot you can see how many people had 0 damage, 0 heals and 0 caps 10 minutes into the battle. There were also AFK in EoS and AB which really hurts because you have much smaller teams.

Battlegrounds 8/18/08
I haven't written about the battlegrounds lately because the Alliance have been doing so bad there is really not much to say. From 8/15-8/17 I fought in 40 battles on Wranngar, 16 wins and 24 losses. It was a bad few days. I don't know what is wrong but the Alliance is performing worse than usual which is pretty bad.
Battlegrounds 8/18/08 - I fought in every battleground today, we did good in some and bad in others. I fought in 7 AV's, 2 wins and 5 losses. For some reason lately people are taking and holding SHGY, they are doing it on a regular basis and, as usual, it causes a turtle, long battle and loss. In our 2 wins we rushed FWGY or FWRH and capped the towers for the win. The last battle we won it was really close. The Horde started on Vann before we started on Drek but because they had so many on defense we were able to DPS Drek down before they were able to get Vann. In one of our losses we had FWRH, FWGY, and of course Galv as people seem to be doing him first thing lately, but we did not have IBT or TP and could not take down Drek with 2 towers up. You can tell a lot of the people have no clue what they are doing in there when they are saying to rush right to Drek and kill him. I keep telling them to learn the importance of the towers. Each tower represents a Warmaster in with Drek and also adds +25% to Dreks health. When there are 4 towers up Drek is at 200% health and he has 4 Warmasters with him along with 2 Elite Frostwolves. Hopefully people will learn or put their characters back on eBay where they got them. I also fought in 3 Eye of the Storm, 1 win 2 losses. This is a battleground we usually dominate in, if that gives you an idea how bad the Alliance is doing. I fought in 8 Arathi Basin, 4 wins and 4 losses which is about right for that battleground.
The strange thing there was it was there holiday weekend which is when you usually get the worst players, the "weekend warriors" that only go into the battlegrounds for the extra honor. I fought in Warsong Gulch too, a battleground we usually do really bad in but we ended up winning 4 and losing 2 so everything is whacked :). Hopefully things will even off during the week and get back to normal.
