Alterac Valley - Again

A while ago I swore off battlegrounds because QQ Premades were screwing up the queues so bad you couldn't get an evenly matched BG. Most the Alterac Valley's I was in would start off with 10 Alliance against 40 Horde. Out of the 10 Alliance 6 would be AFK so you were basically starting off outnumbered 10 to 1. The reason for that is QQ Premades loading up the battleground queues then not accepting when the queue popped. I started doing dungeons after that and liked those. It has been about a year since I was in a battleground and I didn't think I was missing it at all.

Last night I went into Alterac Valley (40x40) on Brieanna just to see how the battlegrounds were now (I was bored). It wasn't too bad actually, I had a great time and did another one after that. In my first battleground in a year I came in 4th in damage and 5th in killing blows, I guess I didn't forget too much in the year I was away.

I am going to do a few more to get the honor I need to upgrade one of my rings, my last piece of 333 gear. Once I have that I probably won't bother with any more BG's, but it was nice to get in there again for a little while.

Wranngar - 75,000 Lifetime Kills

I passed the 75,000 lifetime kills mark on Wranngar tonight, that puts me over three quarters of the way to the achievement 100000 Honorable Kills and my title, "of the Alliance". I have been doing between 10 and 30 battlegrounds a day lately. That is giving me between 700 and 1,500 kills a day. I will have my title this year I'm sure. That is the last achievement you get for quantity of kills. After that I will work on getting all the rest of the PvP and battleground achievements done.

The Battle for Alterac Valley 11/24/09

I fought in 26 battles tonight in Alterac Valley on Wranngar. We had 16 wins and 10 losses. The Alliance was doing Ok in there tonight for the most part. Alterac Valley was also my daily battleground today.

We had one battle we won on reinforcements, we were just slaughtering the Horde. We drove them back from SHGY all the way to the Frostwolf Relief Hut then we took that away from them too, they were rezzing in their cave :). That was a great battle, I ended up getting 276 honorable kills out of that one. I got a lot of honor tonight too. We did a few Blitz's and a few almost Blitz's where we won fast but didn't do it in under 6 minutes. The Horde did a few Blitz's as well. Lately they seem to be trying to Blitz a lot. Over 3/4 of the battles I was in I would say they tried the Blitz. They were not successful on all of them, obviously, but we did have some pretty short battles we lost.

In one of the battles I was in we had an alleged Warrior 'Tank' tanking Drek. They said I was taunting Drek off of them. What I used was Demoralizing Roar which reduces his armor but no real threat. It gives the lightning bolt over his head when I do it and they thought I was taunting him off them. The problem was they were just a crap tank that couldn't hold him. He kept getting away from them and killing the healers. If Demoralizing Roar can pull a mob off you when you're tanking you should just stick to defending towers or DPS and leave the tanking to someone who can hold him. And if I was pulling him off he would have been on me, not the healers. Just some sorry excuse for a player trying to blame someone else for their incompetence.

The Battle for Wintergrasp 11/24/09

I fought in 3 Wintergrasp battles tonight on Wranngar, 2 wins and 1 loss.

In one of the wins we were defending and in the loss we were also defending. In the last battle I fought in the Horde were defending the keep and we won that one. The secret when the Horde are defending the keep seems to be to get their southern towers down as fast as possible. Once you have those 3 towers down it is pretty much wrapped up from what I can see. All that's left after that is clean up. Of course the Horde are trying to destroy the southern towers when we are defending the keep so we have to defend those as best we can as well.

The Battle for Alterac Valley 11/23/09

The battle for Alterac Valley wasn't going well at all tonight. I fought in 15 battles on Wranngar, 5 wins and 10 losses, Ouch!

The Alliance just couldn't seem to get it together tonight. We had the usual problems, AFK, not working together as a team, people taking SHGY early in the game and, the usual, not having enough people in a tower to hold it when the Horde came to back-cap it.

I have changed my opinion on SHGY. Sometimes it seems to work when it gets capped by the Alliance. The times that seem to work out Ok are when we have all our towers capped or when we have IBT and TP capped and the Frostwolf towers almost capped. You still run the risk of all the Horde rezzing in their cave and piling into Frostwolf Keep but if you have a lot of people there it is not too bad, gets you a lot of kills :). It seems to be a good idea too when we are winning on reinforcements. When we have SHGY it seems like everyone wants to stay there and defend it, that's why taking it early in the battle hardly ever works out. But if we have our towers capped and the Horde ran us out of Frostwolf Keep then it helps us keep them from capping IWB and SHB. It also keeps everyone close to Dun Baldar so we can get our bunkers back. It is a risky situation and you have to play it by ear.

Unfortunately we did have a few times where it was held right from the start of the battle and cost us the win. No one ever stays to guard Iceblood Graveyard or Snowfall Graveyard and sometimes that is Ok as long as we're not holding SHGY. If we are not holding SHGY the Horde don't seem too interested in those GY's. People will guard Frostwolf Graveyard but usually half heartedly. As long as not too many Horde show up we can keep it. FWGY can be an important one to keep as it keeps the Horde from rezzing and running right back into FW Keep if they decide to defend the Keep.

Anyway I did get some good honor tonight and a lot of kills, I think I ended up with over 1,400 kills for the night. I am on track to get my 100,000 lifetime kills and my "of the Alliance" title this year.

The Battle for the Isle of Conquest 11/23/09

I decided to spend some time fighting in the Isle of Conquest tonight to get more familiar with it. I haven't done a lot of battles in there yet, I have previously only fought in there when it was my daily, and want to learn more about it. I went in on Wranngar and we won the first 2 battles I was in and lost the last one. As in any battleground there were a lot of AFK in there. That problem just isn't going to go away or get any better I guess.

We won the 2 battles by breaching the Horde keep and killing the Horde General. I don't even know his name off hand but I will get that along with some screen shots of him. I was in on both of those kills. In the battle we lost the Horde breached our keep and killed our General. I was manning one of the cannons at the top of one of the towers in our keep for awhile tonight, that was a lot of fun. You use the cannons to lay down a wall of fire and also launch rockets at the siege equipment the Horde are bringing in to breach our keep.

The Battle for Wintergrasp 11/23/09

I fought in 2 Wintergrasp battles tonight on Wranngar, one win and one loss. In the one we won I got in at the start, actually a few minutes before the start, so I was there when it all started. We barely won that one but in the end we did.

In the second battle I was in, the one we lost, I got there about 1 minute before it ended. I really didn't have time to do much besides run around the courtyard and kill a couple people before it was all over. I didn't bother to stay around and kill Horde afterwards, that is only fun when you win.

I am really not familiar enough with Wintergrasp yet to start giving any kind of opinion on it but I have been doing all of them I can so I can learn more about it.

The Battle for Alterac Valley 11/22/09

The battle still rages on in Alterac Valley. I fought in 15 battles on Wranngar tonight, 9 wins and 6 losses. It is hard to believe the Alliance are still making the same mistakes after all this time but they are.

We had a couple losses because of someone taking SHGY which usually results in a turtle if they do it early in the battle. Another thing the Alliance does time and again is start a cap on something then walk away from it while it is clocking. Everything in Alterac Valley takes 4 minutes to cap. The main places they do this is Iceblood Graveyard, Snowfall Graveyard, and the East and West Frostwolf Towers. The Towers are the stupidest part, they will click on the flag, anyone can do that, then they jump down to stand on the hill. A single Rogue or Druid in stealth mode can go up into the Tower and back-cap it without any opposition and they do it time and time again. The Horde know this, it is about the only place a single Horde will go and back-cap something. This happens time and again and people still do it. On the average we usually cap those 2 Towers 3 or 4 times before they burn... Another mistake they make all the time is leaving 1, or at most 2, people to guard IBT and TP. The Horde always bring at least 3 if not 4 or 5 people to back-cap either of those towers but people still do it every battle...

In spite of all the problems and stupidity we did have some good battles tonight. We won a few more battles on reinforcements, I am wondering if this will end when the holiday weekend is over. The only reason I can think of is the Horde have their share of weekend warriors and AFK although the Alliance does seem to be playing better in some of the battles I have been in. We still have the stupidity of taking and holding SHGY and the problem with people leaving towers undefended/underdefended while they are capping, I don't think that will ever end.

I fought in a Wintergrasp battle tonight, the Horde really suck in there. We were defending again and we had no problem holding the Keep while destroying all their towers.

My daily battleground was WSG today. I wasn't going to do it but then decided to give it a shot and see how we were doing in there. To say we were doing poorly would be a gross understatement. Everyone was interested in fighting in the middle. There was no flag carrier support and there was no attempt made to get our flag back. I hate WSG and dropped the quest after that one loss. I may never go in there again. It was almost like they were farming HK's in there which is just stupid, if you are going to farm HK's you go to Alterac Valley.

The Battle for Alterac Valley 11/21/09

The battle for Alterac Valley rages on. It is still the Holiday weekend in Alterac Valley and there are a lot of battles being fought there. I fought in 31 battles on Wranngar today, 17 wins and 14 losses. It was also my daily battleground again today.

For the most part the Alliance were doing Ok in there. Both the Alliance and Horde were doing a lot of Blitzing. We did at least 6 today and the Horde probably did that many too in the battles I was in. The biggest problem the Alliance is still having is not being able to work together as a team, that is what causes most of our losses. A high percentage of the rest are people taking and holding SHGY. The rest are just poor playing and AFK. There were a lot of AFK in all the battles I was in. People are reporting them more now though, I think it is because they are removed after a minute of being flagged inactive. Now when I report to the team someone is AFK I also add, "lets get them out of here so we can get someone in here who will fight", that seems to motivate people to report them.

We had some really good battles that we won on resources. The Alliance have been winning more battles on resources than I have ever seen them win before. Usually we only win when we kill Drek. The Alliance has been playing a little better than usual lately too and that has a lot to do with it. I am almost going to be sorry to see this holiday weekend end, and that is not something you will hear me say often. I got a lot of kills this weekend and have passed the 70,000 lifetime honorable kills mark. I got a lot of honor too and upgraded a lot of my gear.

I fought in 2 Wintergrasp battles too, both of them wins. The first one I fought in the Horde were defending Winterguard Keep and we took it away from them. In the second battle I fought in we were defending the Keep and held onto it throughout the battle for another victory. I need 5 more marks to get another piece of gear I have my eye on, maybe I will get it tomorrow.

Battle In Alterac Valley 11/20/09

The daily battleground today was Alterac Valley. I did it on Wranngar and we won the second one I was in. I ended up fighting in 20 AV's, 10 wins and 10 losses. The new big thing now seems to be The Alterac Blitz. The only problem with that is the people saying "STRAIGHT TO DREK, DON'T STOP FOR ANYTHING" aren't bothering to check and see if we have a tank that can tank Drek at 200% health plus 4 Warmasters and 2 Frostwolves, and healers that can keep him alive, so half the time we get there and can't do anything. That was the case a few times today. We didn't necessarily lose those battles, we just didn't Blitz.

We had the usual problems of fighting in a battleground on it's holiday weekend, the weekend warriors and twice the AFK. People are starting to take an interest in reporting the AFK again it seems, maybe it is because they are AFK'd right out of the battleground after a minute.

We did have a couple wins on reinforcements and those were nice. Those were long battles with a lot of fighting and a lot of kills :). We pushed the Horde back from SPGY to SHGY then took SHGY in one reinforcement battle. I don't usually recommend taking SHGY but in this battle it was Ok because we were winning on reinforcements anyway. I got a lot of kills in that battle and another one. In the reinforcement battles we had to pile 8-10 people into IBT and TP to keep them. The Horde never go to take a tower back with just a couple, they always group up so they figure they will have anyone there outnumbered by at least 2 to 1. We surprised them a few times :). They don't even go to take a mine back unless there are at least 3 of them because they figure it was taken by 1 Alliance. I only got about 700 kills tonight in the battles I was in but I had a lot of fun.

I fought in 2 Wintergrasp battles. I should say I was in 2 Wintergrasp battles, I was in the first one from the start, a win, and got into the second one seconds before we lost. A mark is a mark though.

Daily Battleground - Arathi Basin, Again - 11/15/09

My daily battleground turned out to be Arathi Basin again today. I almost skipped it as Alliance has been sucking worse than usual in there lately but I am glad I didn't. We lost the first battle I was in, no surprise there, but we won the second battle with a 5 cap, big surprise. I did it on Wranngar as usual. I don't PvP too much on Gomorra anymore. There was a time when all I did was PvP on Gom but I like Wrann better in the battlegrounds these days. I still need to get back on Gom and get him 133 more kills so he can at least get the 25,000 lifetime kills achievement. Anyway I got my daily battleground done and collected my 19g86s and 1241 honor.

I did some Alterac Valley battles after that. We were definitely not doing as good tonight in there as we were last night, that's for sure. I fought in 14 battles, 4 wins and 10 losses. We lost most of them on reinforcements and the major cause of most of the losses was Stonehearth Graveyard. Nothing new there. We lost one battle by 15 reinforcements. We were a couple hundred ahead in that one but due to some poor playing, even by Alliance standards, we lost that advantage and the battle. We lost another one by 56 reinforcements. We did have some pretty fierce battles though, I was able to get over 1,000 honorable kills again tonight. That is almost like the old days, when I used to fight on Gom and you could get a couple thousand kills in a night. I passed the 65,000 lifetime kills mark tonight.

I tried one Eye of the Storm but it was still the holiday weekend in that battleground, enough said.

Arathi Basin - Daily Battleground 11/14/09

I did a bunch of battlegrounds on Wranngar tonight. I ended the night with over 1,000 kills and 27,000+ honor. Arathi Basin was my daily battleground. Alliance was not doing well in there. I can remember a time when AB was a battleground we used to win in a lot, not anymore apparently.

I fought in 5 AB's to get my daily done. It was the same problem in all the losses. the glory hounds. The objective is to capture and hold bases for points. The first side to accumulate 1600 points wins. There are 5 bases, you need to hold at least 3 for the majority of the battle to win. The problem with Alliance is they can't just take and hold 3 bases, they have to have all 5. Well usually they are not good enough to capture and hold 5 bases. What ends up happening is you will have 8 or 9 people at the Stables, one person guarding the Lumber Mill, no one guarding the Gold mine, 2 people trying to get the Blacksmith and one person trying to get the Farm. The Horde like to move around in a large group, the Alliance likes to move around in one's or two's. The Alliance is known for leaving bases with no one defending them. I was watching these 'champs' in action tonight, they will ride into a base, start the flag capping, then mount up and ride out. Anyway it took 5 battles until we had a win, a close win, and I was able to get my daily done. I handed that in for 19g86s and 2414 bonus honor. I was maxed out on honor until yesterday when I got a couple items with my honor.

I fought in 4 Eye of the Storm battles too. It was their holiday weekend and I don't know why I bothered. Holiday weekends give you twice the honor when you fight in that battleground. It also brings out the AFK and the weekend warriors, I don't know which one is worse. The weekend warriors are the people who only fight in battlegrounds on their holiday weekends for the extra honor and it shows. The AFK are, well, the AFK and they suck.

I fought in 15 Alterac Valley battles, 12 wins and 3 losses. The Alliance was on fire in AV tonight. It was some of the best fighting I have seen in awhile. In one of the battles someone took SHGY like an idiot but it didn't matter. The Horde were rezzing at FWGY and we just slammed into them and took FWGY. They were rezzing at FWRH then and we went in there and took that away from them too. The we killed Drek :). It was a long battle with some serious fighting. We were owning them. We owned them in a lot of the battles. We couldn't be stopped. It was AV like it used to be. Must have been an old timer reunion. I haven't seen fighting in AV like that in a couple years, since back when I first started fighting in there. 2 of the battles we lost were directly related to taking and holding SHGY, we lost on reinforcements. Usually you just don't have a good enough group to do that so taking and holding SHGY usually results in a loss. Needless to say I got most of my kills in there tonight. I will break 65,000 lifetime kills tomorrow.

Battlegrounds 6/16/09

I did a bunch of battlegrounds today on Wranngar. My daily battleground was Arathi Basin again today :(. I guess it could be worse, it could have been Warsong Gulch, I hate WSG.

It took me 5 battles to get a win in AB and complete my daily today. The Alliance were playing terrible. We lost to a couple 5 caps, and the one we won was really close. I don't know what the problem is but I haven't seen it this bad in a long time. The Alliance used to do pretty good in AB, but lately it has been like holiday weekend in AB every day. The main problem is people not guarding anything. There is no defense, it's all offense. People will ride up to a node, start it capping and then ride away before it even finishes capping. I blame that on the achievements, everyone is trying to get the achievements done, capping as many nodes in one battle as they can... I don't see it getting any better either.

I also fought in 11 Eye of the Storm battles, 8 wins and 3 losses. We were doing a little better in there but not great. We usually dominate in EoS. Once again people are trying to get the flag capping achievements done which is causing everyone to go flagtard. We did have a few 4 caps but those were later. We lost the first 3 I was in and then, later on, won the last 8 I was in. Remember what I said about the quality of people changing at certain times of the day? That's what happened. You could see by their actions that it was a better group of people later on in the day. There were a lot of AFK in EoS, there were a lot of AFK in all the battlegrounds I was in. People that come into a battleground then either stay right at the starting point or bot around make me sick. I use TuringTest AFK Reporter and I use that to report them to the raid group every few minutes until they are marked AFK.

I fought in 3 Wintergrasp battles, 2 losses and one win. I had all the quests done for today except the win in WG. We finally got that on the third battle. I don't really know enough about WG yet to know what the problem is/was, it seems like everyone is doing something, they are fighting anyway. The TuringTest AFK Reporter dosen't work in there, it is not an instance like all the other battlegrounds so I don't think it knows it's in a battleground. I get good honor in WG by doing the quests every day and will keep up with that.

I fought in 2 battles on Gomorra today too. I fought in one EoS, a win, and one AB, a loss. I was tring for the daily in AB, (yeah I know, lost cause) but I was also doing the achievement Dinner Impossible. I still have AV, SoA and WSG to go. I will probably go into WSG, serve it up, then leave. I will take the deserter debuff instead of staying in there for the whole battle. I hate WSG. It has been a long time since I was in a battleground on Gom, I usually do battlegrounds on Wrann. Gom did pretty good though and it felt good to be back in there on him. I want to get Gom to 25,000 lifetime kills to get that achievement though. He only has a couple hundred to go.

All in all I got a lot of kills and a lot of honor today, 297 kills and 24,672 honor. You get a lot of honor doing the quests in WG, that's why I will stay on top of it.

AB and EoS 6/8/09

My daily battleground today was Arathi Basin. I did it on Wranngar and it took 6 battles to get a win. It was some of the worst PvP play I have seen in a while.

In 2 of the battles I got in towards the end and they were a 4 cap and 5 cap in Hordes favor. There was no teamwork at all, people were just running around doing their own thing, going off in ones and twos to get ganked by groups of Horde. On the off chance that we actually got a node capping, everyone would leave before it capped so all the Horde had to do was walk in and defend it. In one battle I got into we had to have been at least a minute into it, there were Alliance fighting at the farm, but no one had gotten the Stables or tried for the Lumber Mill, it was crazy.

Finally in the 6th battle I got in with a decent group. We had a 4 cap going for most the battle, had all 5 nodes at one time but not capped, and maintained at least a 3 cap at all times. We won that one by over 1,000. There were a lot of AFK in all the battles I was in, I think that is because season 6 has started and all the AFK slackers are trying to get the new honor gear. Anyway we finally won one and I could stop wasting my time in there. The first battle I was in, we had a 4 cap and ended up losing 1740/2000 on a Horde 5 cap, took 38 minutes.

I fought on 3 Eye of the Storm battles too, 2 wins and one loss. The one we lost was due to no team work and flag tards. Flag tards are people who go for the flag when we don't even have a node to bring it to. When you come off the rock and 3/4 of your team runs right to the flag you know it's all over. There just weren't enough of us left to take nodes and defend them.

The first of the 2 battles we won wasn't really do to good teamwork on the Alliance's part, it was more due to really bad teamwork on the Horde part. DR was undefended almost the entire battle, we lost it to Horde near the end, and everyone was fighting in the middle or on the roads. Fighting on the roads gets you nothing, you need to fight on the nodes if you want to take them.

The third and last battle I was in we won due to good teamwork. We started off getting DR, BET and MT. We kept the pressure on at FRR so all the Horde were occupied there trying to defend that and we were able to run the flag without much interference. The Horde lost FRR a couple times but we were never quite able to cap it. We had at least one person on each node calling incomings and we held onto our 3 throughout the battle.

I might get back on a little later and do some more.

Battlegrounds 3/6/09

The daily battleground today was Arathi Basin. I did it on Wranngar and we won the first one I was in. It didn't look like we were going to win at the start, we had the Stables, almost had the Lumber Mill and almost had the Gold Mine. Then we lost the Lumber Mill. We went along with only 2 nodes until we were almost 300 behind then we picked up the Farm. Meanwhile I was guarding the Gold Mine and had a few attacks I fought off with help from people who responded to my call of incoming. We put a lot of pressure on the Blacksmith and got most the Horde there then took the Lumber Mill. After that we lost the Farm which put us at 3 nodes to 2 for a little while but then we picked up the Blacksmith and lost the Gold Mine. That still left us at 3 to 2 until we picked up the Farm again. It went like that throughout the entire battle but we ended up winning by over 500 points. I fought in one Eye of the Storm after that, we didn't do so well in there. As a matter of fact I decided to call it a night on the battlegrounds after that one. We lost that one when the Horde 4 capped us pretty much from the start. Everyone was coming off the rock, everyone that didn't just go AFK, and trying to take the Mage Tower and the Dareni Ruins. ALL the Horde were on that side of the field, what they should have been going after was BET and FRR but me and another person were the only ones that did. I got FRR to clock over so at least the Horde weren't holding it when they won, so they didn't get a 4 cap :).

The daily cooking today was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf so I headed down into the Sewers to get some Infused Mushrooms. I got 4 of them pretty quick then ran over to the bank and got a couple Chilled Meat to cook it up with. I lit a fire outside the bank and cooked my Infused Mushroom Meatloaf then delivered it in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag. Today my Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices, 3 Old Spices and another Dalaran Cooking Award. I got another 20 Northern Spices with my 2 cooking awards and put them in the guild bank. Now I have 173.

I didn't do my Knights of the Ebon Blade daily's today because I really didn't have the time but I did head over to the Storm Peaks to do Overstock. This quest is so fast and easy there is always time to do it. It only takes a couple minutes and pays around 13 gold. I will get back on all my daily's tomorrow night when I have a little more time and I have Sunday off so I should have a little more time to play. I am slowly restocking my gold supply.

Daily's & Battlegrounds 2/18/09

I hopped on Wranngar and the first thing I did was the daily cooking like I do every day. Today it was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf again. I hope it's not stuck in that loop again. I went down into the sewers in the Underbelly and got my 4 Infused Mushrooms pretty quick considering I saw a bunch of people running around picking them. Some day's it's like that, even when there seems to be a lot of people doing it you get them quick and other days it looks like only a couple are doing it and you can't find any. After I had those I went to the bank and grabbed a couple chilled meat to cook it up with. When I had my Meatloaf I delivered it in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag. Today my small spice bag had 4 Northern Spices in it. Could have been better, could have been worse.

I did a bunch more daily quests today too, I did Overstock in Stormpeaks, From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone, Intelligence Gathering, Leave Our Mark, Shoot 'Em Up, Vile Like Fire! for the Knights of the Ebon Blade and the 3 daily's I do for the The Kalu'ak. Altogether I made around 200 gold with the drops I sold the the vendor. These are all easy daily's and they pay pretty good gold. I am 1/4 of the way to exalted with The Kalu'ak after today.

Today's daily battleground was Arathi Basin. We won the first one I was in with a 5 cap. I turned that in for 13g23s and 1241 honor then queue'd up for Eye of the Storm. I ended up fighting in 3 battles in EoS and we won all 3. The first group I was in was really good and we just went in and got a 4 cap, held the Horde to their rock and ran the flag, it was over in no time. I queue'd up again as soon as I got out hoping to get the same group but I didn't. Still, the group I got in was good too, we got a 4 cap and ran the flag for the win. I queue'd up again as soon as I got out but got mostly a different group but we had another win with a 4 cap and running the flag. The Alliance was doing really well in EoS tonight. I got some good honor out of them if not a lot of kills. I usually defend in EoS and only get a lot of kills in there when the Horde have their heart set on the node I am defending. If they don't come, like the last battle where I was defending Fel Reaver Ruins, I only get a few. I did pretty well in the other 2 battles. I usually defend FRR and that usually sees a lot of action in most battles.

Daily's 2/15/09

I did my daily cooking in Dalaran on Wranngar today which was Convention at the Legerdemain. This is a pretty easy one if the Jug of Wine spawns fast enough for you. Today it did for me, I went into the wine shop and there it was, only took a second. I cooked up some Northern Stew and delivered it. In exchange for doing that I got 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag which had 3 Northern Spices and 3 Baby Spice in it. Not a bad haul today for this daily.

I worked on my Reputation with the Kalu'ak. They have a fishing pole I want and you have to be exalted with them to get it. The pole is Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole. It adds +30 to your fishing skill and is a epic piece. It is pretty cool looking too. I did all the quests they have then did the 3 daily's they offer and now I am revered with them. It will take about about 12-13 days to get exalted with them from here.

I fought in some battlegrounds today. The daily battleground was Strand of the Ancients and we won the first, and only, one I fought in. I turned that in and got my honor and gold. I fought in two Arathi Basin too to try and get my marks to 100 as I had 97. We lost the first one and one the second one which gave me 98 marks on me and 3 in the mail I can not take..... Nice Blizzard. I guess I will have to lose 2 more to finish that out. Losing is what the Alliance seems to be good at in AB lately though so it shouldn't be hard. I fought in 7 Eye of the Storm tonight and we won 5 and lost 2. The 2 battles we lost were just really bad groups on the Alliance side. In the 5 wins we had a couple where we only had 2 towers and ran the flag a lot and a couple 3 and 4 caps. Overall we are still doing good in EoS. I fought in one Wintergrasp battle tonight too. We lost that one but I did get a couple of the daily's done so I now have 7 Stone Keeper's Shard. You can use these for valuable prizes :). I am still not really sure what is going on in there but I am starting to get a better understanding of it.

Saturday 2/07/09

I got on Wranngar for awhile and did my daily cooking in Dalaran. It was Convention at the Legerdemain again. I ran around and got the 6 half full wine glasses I needed then went to the bank and got the Chilled Meat I needed to make 4 Northern Stew. Once I had all the I delivered it and got my Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and Small Spice Bag. My Small Spice Bag contained 6 Northern Spices today. Not a bad haul. I also did the Shattrath daily cooking from The Rokk, (61,15). It was Revenge is Tasty and I got the wing I needed on my second kill. I cooked that up with 3 Warp Burgers and turned it in. I picked Barrel of Fish for my reward and got 6 Figluster's Mudfish, 4 Zangarian Sporefish and a Hoop Earring. I don't know why I still bother doing this one. I grabbed the daily fishing from Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest, which was Felblood Fillet and did that at the same time I was doing the cooking daily. I flew over to my spot in Shadowmoon Valley (40,59) and got my Monstrous Felblood Snapper on the second cast. I turned that in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures and got Spun Truesilver Fishing Line (that's 4 in the banks now), 6 Sharpened Fish Hooks and an Ancient Coin. It was the first time I got one of those and I sold it to a vendor for 25 gold.

I didn't do my Knights of the Ebon Blade daily's today, just didn't feel like it. I did do Overstock though and got around 13 gold for that. I will pick these up a little later, I get a little burned out when I do them for too many day's in a row.

I fought in a few battlegrounds tonight. Strand of the Ancients was the daily and I got that done on the second one I was in. I went on to fight in 2 Eye of the Storm, one win one loss and 4 Arathi Basin, 2 wins and 2 losses. The Alliance wasn't doing as good tonight in EoS as they have been, hopefully this is a temporary setback. I am getting close to having enough honor to get my next piece of PvP gear, I think it will be a ring. Both my rings are level 70 while everything else is closer to 80.

Battlegrounds 1/12/09

I did some battlegrounds on Wranngar tonight. The daily was Strand of the Ancients, one I had never done before. I ended up fighting in 6 of them, 3 wins and 3 losses. I am not really sure enough of what is going on to know what we did wrong in the 3 we lost but the Horde seemed really good in those battles. There are two rounds in Strand of the Ancients, in the first round the Alliance are the attackers and the Horde are the defenders. In the second round the Alliance are the defenders and the Horde are the attackers. The object is to attack the gates when you are the attackers and defend them when you are the defenders. You use tanks to attack and destroy the gates and the main objective is a relic. If you can get the relic you win that round. I don't know what happens if both sides fail to get the relic or if both sides do get the relic but I am sure I will find out soon enough. I was queuing out of Dalaran for this but I believe there is a Battle Master for Strand of the Ancients in Darnassus too. I also fought in 1 Eye of the Storm, a win, 1 Arathi Basin, a loss, 1 WarSong Gulch, a loss and 1 Alterac Valley also a loss. I will do some more Strand of the Ancients tomorrow, I was getting good kills and good honor. This could be the new AV.

Battlegrounds 11/3/08

I fought in 3 Arathi Basin battles tonight on Wranngar. It was my daily again and it took 3 to finally get a win. Not as bad as last night but not great. The first battle I got into was already in progress. I thought we were going to win that one for a little while until I realized the fact we had 3 nodes when I came in was pure luck. After watching the other players perform I knew we were going to lose. It wasn't that they were playing poorly, they just weren't thinking, an all too common problem for the Alliance. They were leaving nodes with one person to guard it if they left any at all. I saw a few occasions where there was no one at a node. They were constantly on the move trying to get another base, leaving the ones they had poorly guarded, and the Horde were coming along and taking them. The next one really wasn't any better. I got in that one at the start and we were doing ok for a little while then it was back to one or none at a node and half way through the battle the majority of our team was at the Stables trying to get that back. Rational thinking would dictate if the majority of the Horde are there then there are some Horde bases left pretty much empty. No one could be torn away from the Stables though and we lost that one too. In the last battle I was in we actually had a 5 cap going on for a minute then we held 3 and had a 4th on and off. We won that one by about 600 points. Anyway I got my daily battleground done.
