Wranngar 2/9/09

I got on Wranngar for a while tonight and got the daily cooking in Dalaran done. That was about it for daily's today. The daily cooking was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf again. I headed down into the Underbelly to get my 4 Infused Mushrooms and got them pretty quick. I headed over to the bank for a couple Chilled Meat to cook them up with. Once I had it cooked I delivered it in exchange for a Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and a Small Spice Bag. Today the Small Spice Bag only had 3 Northern Spices in it. Not the best haul. I got another recipe today and cooked that. I now only have 8 recipes left until I get my chef title. There are 45 recipes in Northrend and you have to have, and have cooked, all of them to get the chef title.

I fought in my first Wintergrasp battle today. I was so focused on trying to figure out what was going on that I forgot take pictures. I went in there with the intention of taking lots of pictures but forgot all about that once I got in there. We won it. I think we were the defenders. I fought in 9 Eye of the Storm battles, 8 wins and 1 loss. The daily battleground today was Alterac Valley but I won't go in there anymore because of the imbalance in numbers when the battle starts. It doesn't take long to lose when we are outnumbered 4 to 1 and half our 10 players are AFK. In Eye of the Storm we were doing well for the most part although I was in a few groups where the outcome was questionable right until the end. They were leaving towers unguarded to go after more towers, way too many people were going for the flag instead of trying to get more towers or defending the ones we had. We also had some pretty good groups where we had 4 caps going on.

I did a bunch more fishing in the Underbelly under Dalaran on and off today. I did some fishing between battlegrounds to kind of break things up a little. While I was fishing someone else who was fishing right next to me got the Giant Sewer Rat and completed the I Smell A Giant Rat Achievement so I know I am in the right place, now I just need my turn. I got a lot of stuff fishing today, it is like a toxic waste dump down there with all the vials you fish up. It was funny because I was fishing right next to a spawn point for an Infused Mushroom so people were constantly stopping by for that. All in all today I caught:

Really nothing useful there at all but I am going to keep plugging away at this one a little every day until I get my Giant Sewer Rat. It is a nice break to run down there and do a little fishing between battles.

Battlegrounds 2/8/09

The daily battleground today was WSG. I skipped it, I hate WSG. I really need to get in there though and work on Wranngar's rep. I fought in 20 Eye of the Storm and 2 Arathi Battles instead. We lost both the AB battles but we did better in EoS, winning 15 and losing 5. We had a bunch of 4 caps and all the rest were three caps and flag running. In the 5 losses we had bad groups. They would leave a node undefended so 14 of them could go after the flag. I got the Achievement The Perfect Storm today when we won one of the battles 2000/0. The AB battles I was in were just bad groups, they were everywhere and not defending nodes. Nodes were being left empty before they even capped.

I did the daily cooking in Dalaran which was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf. I headed down into the sewers in search of 4 Infused Mushrooms. I got them really fast, it was like no one was doing it. I cooked them up with 2 Chilled Meat and delivered it in return for a Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and a Small Spice Bag. My Small Spice Bag had 5 Northern Spices, 3 Old Spices and 5 Baby Spice in it. Not a bad haul today.

I've been doing some fishing in the Underbelly, in the sewers under Dalaran, trying to catch a Giant Sewer Rat for the I Smell A Giant Rat Achievement. It is not a common drop so it could take awhile to get it. In the last couple days I have caught a lot of things down in the sewers, I have caught:

Not a Giant Sewer Rat in the bunch though. I will keep plugging away at this when I have a little extra time, maybe when the battleground queues get too long. I have been putting the vials and Magic Eaters in the guild bank for anyone who wants or can use them. I have 4 tabs and they are almost full. I have a tendency to be a pack rat. There is a lot of level 55-80 buff food in there, more than a tab full. It is nice that I kept it stocked up because now that I am leveling Gomorra to 80 I have a lot of buff food for him. Some he can't eat until 75 but a lot of it he can.

Gomorra 2/07/09

I took Gomorra out of retirement tonight and got him Spec'd again. After that I went to Northrend and got him Grandmaster Cooking, Grandmaster Fishing, Grandmaster First Aid and Grandmaster Tailoring. I got his tailoring up to 389 today too. I did some quests there and got around 5 bars of experience. All his experience is rested and I am sure it will all be rested all the way through to 80 because I am not going to rush him. I need to get a port to Dalaran so I can get him the Reins of the Armored Brown Bear and Armored Snowy Gryphon mounts. I can't fly in Northrend yet but I will get the flying mount anyway because I can use it in Outlands until then.

Saturday 2/07/09

I got on Wranngar for awhile and did my daily cooking in Dalaran. It was Convention at the Legerdemain again. I ran around and got the 6 half full wine glasses I needed then went to the bank and got the Chilled Meat I needed to make 4 Northern Stew. Once I had all the I delivered it and got my Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and Small Spice Bag. My Small Spice Bag contained 6 Northern Spices today. Not a bad haul. I also did the Shattrath daily cooking from The Rokk, (61,15). It was Revenge is Tasty and I got the wing I needed on my second kill. I cooked that up with 3 Warp Burgers and turned it in. I picked Barrel of Fish for my reward and got 6 Figluster's Mudfish, 4 Zangarian Sporefish and a Hoop Earring. I don't know why I still bother doing this one. I grabbed the daily fishing from Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest, which was Felblood Fillet and did that at the same time I was doing the cooking daily. I flew over to my spot in Shadowmoon Valley (40,59) and got my Monstrous Felblood Snapper on the second cast. I turned that in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures and got Spun Truesilver Fishing Line (that's 4 in the banks now), 6 Sharpened Fish Hooks and an Ancient Coin. It was the first time I got one of those and I sold it to a vendor for 25 gold.

I didn't do my Knights of the Ebon Blade daily's today, just didn't feel like it. I did do Overstock though and got around 13 gold for that. I will pick these up a little later, I get a little burned out when I do them for too many day's in a row.

I fought in a few battlegrounds tonight. Strand of the Ancients was the daily and I got that done on the second one I was in. I went on to fight in 2 Eye of the Storm, one win one loss and 4 Arathi Basin, 2 wins and 2 losses. The Alliance wasn't doing as good tonight in EoS as they have been, hopefully this is a temporary setback. I am getting close to having enough honor to get my next piece of PvP gear, I think it will be a ring. Both my rings are level 70 while everything else is closer to 80.

Wranngar 2/6/09

I got on Wranngar for awhile tonight and did some daily's. I did the daily cooking in Dalaran which was Convention at the Legerdemain. I don't really like this quest because you have to run around the city and get 6 half full wine glasses and it always seems like everyone else is doing it at the same time, and they usually are because there are only so many wine glasses and you have to wait for them to respawn. Anyway I got my 6 glasses then went to the cheese shop and got the cheese I needed. I combined that on the tray that was supplied to me and delivered it for a Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s, and a Small Spice Bag. Today my Small Spice Bag had 5 Northern Spices, 5 Baby Spice and another Dalaran Cooking Award in it. That was an excellent return on this quest today. Later I went to see Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest, and he gave me Felblood Fillet. I flew over to my spot at the Pools of Aggonar (39,37) in Hellfire Peninsula and got my Monstrous Felblood Snapper on the 12th cast. I turned it in for a Bag of Fishing Treasures and that had 6g55s19c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Giant Shark Tooth in it. Not a great return on this one but I know there are some good rewards to still be had from this daily.

I did my Northrend daily's today which mostly consist of the knights of the Ebon Blade daily's. There are 6 of them that I do and they pay 13g23s each. I also did Overstock today which is a really easy and fast quest that pays around 13 gold.

Daily's 2/5/09

I was only able to get on for a little while tonight but I did all my daily's on Wranngar. The Dalaran daily cooking was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf again. I headed down into the sewers and grabbed my 4 Infused Mushrooms then cooked them up with a couple Chilled Meat to make Infused Mushroom Meatloaf. I delivered that and got a Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and a Small Spice Bag, which had 3 Northern Spices, 3 Old Spices and a Dalaran Cooking Award in it. A pretty good haul today for this quest. I went to see Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest to see what he had for me. He had Crocolisks in the City so I was off to Stormwind. I got my Baby Crocolisk on the 21st cast which seemed kind of long to me. I headed back to Shattrath and turn it in for a Bag of Fishing Treasures. That had 6g52s5c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Razor Sharp Fillet Knife. I got 4 gold for the knife so overall a better haul than yesterday.

I did the Knights of the Ebon Blade dailys which are From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone, Intelligence Gathering, Leave Our Mark, Shoot 'Em Up and Vile Like Fire!. These are pretty quick and easy quests that pay 13g23s each. I do these every day when I can and make some nice gold off them. I also like to do Overstock in K3, in the Storm Peaks. That is a really easy one to do, all you have to do is lay out mines in a line and wait for mobs to run over them and explode. You have to kill 12 and this one only takes a few minutes. It pays around 13 gold.

The daily battleground was Arathi Basin again today. The guy who changes the daily's must be out sick. I fought in 2 and we won both of them. The first one was a 5 cap pretty much from the start. We won that one 2,000/20. Really nothing much more to say about that one except it was the type of battleground I was used to playing before Burning Crusades came out. The next one was a better battle, we got the Gold Mine, Stables and Lumber Mill right at the start. After that we got the Blacksmith and lost the Goldmine but got the Farm. We had the Goldmine capping for a 5 cap when the points ran out and we won. I'm not crying too hard :). The Alliance has been doing really good in AB and EoS from what I have seen in the last few days.

Daily's & Battlegrounds 2/4/09

I did my usual daily's on Wranngar tonight. I did the daily cooking in Dalaran which was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf again. I headed down into the sewers in search of Infused Mushrooms and got the 4 I needed pretty quick. Not as quick as last night but pretty quick all the same. I cooked them up with 2 Chilled Meat and got my Infused Mushroom Meatloaf which I delivered in exchange for a Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and a Small Spice Bag which had 3 Northern Spices in it. Not the best return on this daily. I also got the daily fishing from Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest. It was Bait Bandits and I got my Blackfin Darter on the 14th cast. I turned that in for a Bag of Fishing Treasures which had 6g83s15c, 2 Elixir's of Water Walking and 2 Salvaged Scrap Metal, not a great return on this on either.

I did my Knight of the Ebon Blade daily's too. I like those because you get good gold for them, 13g23s each, and they are quick and pretty easy. Tonight while I was doing No Fly Zone I attacked a Gryphon Rider with the Deathknight flying mount you use for the quest and 2 more Gryphon Riders joined in. By the time I killed the first one my Deathknight mount died so I switched to cat form and started fighting the other 2 when 2 more Gryphon Riders joined in followed a few seconds later by 2 more. In a span of about a minute to a minute and a half I ended up killing 7 of them, fighting 6 at once. I drank a Runic Healing Potion and healed myself once by the time it was all over. They are level 80 but normal mobs, not elite. That was nice, I got 7 out of the way in no time :). I also did Overstock in K3.

The daily battleground today was Arathi Basin again. I fought in 2 AB's tonight and we won both of them. The first one was a 5 cap and we won that one pretty fast. In the second one Arkantose joined me and got his daily done. The second one was more evenly matched, we held 3 then managed to get 4 before 5 capping around 1800 points. I also fought in 2 Eye of the Storm tonight, both of those were wins too. Seems like the Alliance is having a good night. I doubt that includes Alterac Valley though. Arkantose fought in one of the EoS battles with me. Both of those battles ended up being a 4 cap. We easily won the first one with a 4 cap but the second one took awhile before we got the 4 cap. We were running the flag non-stop in both so they went pretty quick. I completed the Achievement Eye of the Storm Domination when we won the first battle I was in.

Daily's 2/3/09

I got on Wranngar for awhile tonight and did some daily's. I did the daily cooking in Dalaran which was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf. I hit the bank and got 2 Chilled Meat then went down into the sewers for some Infused Mushroom. There seemed to be people down there picking them but I got the 4 I needed pretty quick. I cooked them up with the Chilled Meat and delivered it. I got my Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and Small Spice Bag which had 2 Northern Spices. Not a good haul today. I went to see what The Rokk, (61,15) in Shattrath, had for me and he had Soup for the Soul which worked out well because it is right next to the daily fishing quest I got from Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest, which was The One That Got Away. I got 4 Roasted Clefthoof out of the bank and headed to the Ancestral Grounds (25,59) in Nagrand to cook up my Spiritual Soup. That done I headed over to my spot at Lake Sunspring (34,43) in Nagrand and got the World's Largest Mudfish on my 5th cast. I headed back to Shattrath and turned in to Soup for the Soul to The Rokk. I picked the Barrel of Fish and got 6 Spotted Feltail, 5 Zangarian Sporefish, an Enormous Barbed Gill Trout and 2 Clean Fishbones along with the 75s this quest pays. Not a bad haul for this quest actually lol. I headed over to Old Man Barlo after that and turned in The one that got Away for my Bag of Fishing Treasures which had 6g70s69c, Spun Truesilver Fishing Line (Now I have 3 of these in the bank, they are soulbound and do not stack on your fishing pole), 6 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Rusted Lock. Not a bad haul from this quest either if I could have used the Spun Turesilver Fishing Line.

I did my 6 daily quests for the Knights of the Ebon Blade tonight. They are From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone, Intelligence Gathering, Leave Our Mark, Shoot 'Em Up and Vile Like Fire!. I am well on my way to being Exalted with them. I also did Overstock in Storm Peaks. All in all I made about 130 gold on daily's including looting and the daily battleground.

The daily battleground today was Arathi Basin. I did the first one with Arkantose, we lost that one. Arkantose had to leave after that one but I did another two, one loss and then a win so I could get my daily done. I am collecting Arathi Basin Mark of Honor again because I used 30 along with 30 Warsong Gulch Mark of Honor and 30 Alterac Valley Mark of Honor to get the Black Battlestrider. I also fought in 3 Eye of the Storm battles, 1 win and 2 losses. The first one I was in was a win and an easy one at that. I figured we were still doing good in there but found out in the next 2 battles that we were not. We lost the next 2 battles pretty quick, we had a lot of AFK and just a bad group in both battles.

Daily's & Stuff 2/2/09

I went out this morning and did a bunch of "harvesting" for materials on Wranngar. I killed and skinned a bunch of Mammoths and got a lot of Borean Leather as well as a bunch of meat. I am trying to stock up a little bit on the stuff I use the most so I don't have to go out and farm meat to do a daily or cook a new recipe. When the daily's rolled over I did the daily cooking in Dalaran which was Convention at the Legerdemain. I headed to the guild bank and got 4 Northern Stew then headed over to the wine shop and got a jug of wine. There weren't too many people doing it when I was and it spawned pretty quick for me. I turned it in and got my Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and Small Spice Bag. The Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices and 3 Baby Spice in it. I stopped by Shattrath to see Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest, and picked up the quest for Crocolisks in the City which had me heading to Stormwind to catch a Baby Crocolisk. I got one on my 12th cast and headed back to turn it in. When I turned it in I got my Bag of Fishing Treasures which had 6g97s57c, 6 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Broken Spyglass.

I headed over to K3 and grabbed Overstock, a really fast and easy daily I try to do every day. I got that done in a few minutes and collected around 13 gold. From there I headed over to The Shadow Vault in Icecrown to grab the daily's from the Knights of the Ebon Blade. I picked up Leave Our Mark, Shoot 'Em Up and Vile Like Fire!. Once I had those I headed over to Death's Rise and got From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone and Intelligence Gathering. These are the ones I usually do. I am revered with the Knights of the Ebon Blade and when I am exalted they have a nice chest piece that will hold me over until I get my PvP gear. Each of these daily's pay around 13g20s each.

I checked to see what the daily was and found it to be Alterac Valley so I didn't bother. I did some Eye of the Storm battles instead. I fought in 12 battles, 8 wins and 4 losses. I just got in with some bad groups on the 4 losses, a lot of AFK and people who didn't seem to know what to do but in the others I had some really good groups and a couple great groups. We had 7 wins in a row, 2 of which were 4 caps. We were running the flag and holding at least 3 towers most of the time, we were dominating. Then we had 4 losses in a row. The last one I was in was a win but we won it by holding 2 towers and running the flag which is the long hard way to win but win we did. I ended up throwing out 28 Eye of the Storm Mark of Honor because I just can't carry any more.

Daily's 2/1/09

I did some daily's on Wranngar today. I was actually on my way picking up quests when I ran out of gold and couldn't fly anymore lol. I had sent 300 gold I had on me to the bank and only had 4 or 5 left on me. That doesn't last long flying in Northrend. I did 3 quests close to where I ran out of money and they gave me about 48 gold, along with looted gold, so I was able to continue on :). I ended up making about 100 gold including the daily cooking which was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf and the daily battleground which was Eye of the Storm. I went down into the sewers for some sewer mushrooms (Infused Mushroom) and got the 4 I needed pretty quick. I headed over to the guild bank, grabbed 2 Chilled Meat and cooked it up. I delivered that and got my 9g93s, Dalaran Cooking Award and Small Spice Bag which contained 6 Northern Spices and 5 Baby Spice. A really good haul today :). You don't need to carry wood anymore to make a fire I found out. I thought my wood was lasting a long time. That frees up a bag slot :).

We were doing good in Eye of the Storm tonight too, we won the first one I was in so I completed the daily then I fought in 5 more, altogether we had 4 wins and 2 losses. Some of them were really close which makes for a nice battle.

I talked to Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest, and he wanted me to do Felblood Fillet. Fishing 2/1/09

I did some fishing on Wranngar today to restock my supplies and make some more buff food. I fished for about an hour in Grizzly Hills and Borean Tundra. During that time I got:

Quite a variety of stuff you get when you are fishing. I get the Frostweave Cloth and the Cobalt Ore from crates I catch while fishing. I will be able to make 20 more Fish Feast now that I have the mats. They are a big hit in the battlegrounds. I think I am going to do some more fishing a little later along with some skinning so I can get my Leatherworking up.

I got back on and did some more fishing, I completed the Outland Angler and Northrend Angler Achievements today. I also went and fished up some more Deep Sea Monsterbelly and Moonglow Cuttlefish so I will have some on hand when I need them. I need to cook some of the meat and fish I have in the guild bank but I want to save my Northern Spices for the cooking I will have to do to complete the Northrend Gourmet Achievement.

I did some more fishing tonight trying to get the I Smell A Giant Rat Achievement. That had me fishing in the sewers below Dalaran, in the Underbelly. I didn't get a Giant Sewer Rat but I did get 100 Sewer Carp, 22 Magic Eaters, 5 Partially Eaten Fish, 2 Drowned Rats, 1 Leaded Vial, 1 Imbued Vial and 8 Empty Vial. It's like a medical waste dump down there. I put the limit at 100 Sewer Carp. That is how many I will catch a day trying to get this Achievement done. The Magic Eaters transform you into different things or sometimes just buffs you.

Saturday 1/31/09

I got on Wranngar for awhile tonight and did a couple daily's. I did the Dalaran cooking which was Cheese for Glowergold. I don't really like this one because you have to find 6 half full wine glasses around Dalaran and it always seems like there is a lot of people doing it. Takes awhile to get 6 of them. Then you have to go over to the cheese shop and wait for the cheese to spawn. When I had that done I handed it in and got my Dalaran Cooking Award and Small Spice Bag, which had 4 Northern Spices in it, and the 9g93s this quest pays. After that I went to see what Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest, had for me. He had Bait Bandits so I flew over to my spot at the waterfall by Tuurem (52,37) in Terokkar Forest and got my Blackfin Darter on the 21st cast. Took awhile today. I handed that in and got my Bag of Fishing Treasures which had 6g55s66c, 4 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Noble's Monocle in it. I got 11 gold for the Noble's Monocle. I finally found where to catch Deep Sea Monsterbelly when I was fishing for Moonglow Cuttlefish. There where schools everywhere and by the time you got done fishing one another one would show up. I was using my fish tracking skills which helped out a lot. I was getting schools of both the Moonglow Cuttlefish and Deep Sea Monsterbelly but mostly the Deep Sea Monsterbelly. I ended up getting 63 Deep Sea Monsterbelly and 22 Moonglow Cuttlefish. Didn't take me that long either as I was fishing schools. The loaction is off the shore from Unu'pe (Borean Tundra) at 32,66 among the icebergs. I was able to cook 2 recipes I had with those and got the 2nd part of the Northrend Gourmet done. Now I just have to cook 15 more recipes and I will get my chef title. First I have to get 15 more recipes lol. I did one Eye of the Storm after that which we won. It was a really close battle with each side holding 2 towers pretty much thoughout although they were not always the same 2 towers. We won by less than 200 points. I should be able to get on early tomorrow and want to do a bunch of dailys, I want to start making some gold again.

Warcraft Blog 1/30/09

I got the Dalaran daily cooking done on Wranngar which was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf. I headed down into the sewers for some Infused Mushroom's also know as sewer mushrooms, and spent a little time getting the 4 I needed. There had to have been no less that 20 people down there picking mushrooms. It took a little bit but I got the 4 I needed and headed to the guild bank to get 2 Chilled Meat to cook up with them. Once I had my Infused Mushroom Meatloaf I delivered it and got my 9g93s, Dalaran Cooking Award and Small Spice Bag. My Small Spice Bag had 4 Northern Spices and 5 Baby Spice, not a bad haul.I went and talked to The Rokk, (61,15) in Shattrath, but I didn't like what he had to offer so I skipped the Outlands cooking but did the daily fishing quest for Old Man Barlo, (40,59) at Silmyr Lake in Terokkar Forest. It was Bait Bandits. I headed over to my spot at the waterfall near Tuurem (52,37) and got my Blackfin Darter on the 12th cast. I turned that in for my Bag of Fishing Treasures and got 7g15s65c, 5 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Piece of Polished Driftwood. I cooked up the extra fish I caught and put them in the guild bank for anyone who wants them.
