More Daily's 6/16/09

I got my daily's out of the way early today. I was able to do them on both toons today, I am not sure what the problem with Wranngar was yesterday but both he and Gomorra were able to do them today. I grabbed the daily fishing, from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, which was Jewel Of The Sewers today, and the daily cooking, from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, which was Cheese for Glowergold again.

I did the cooking first. It really didn't take me long to get the 6 Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses or the Aged Dalaran Limburger today. I combined them on the platter I was given when I accepted this daily quest and delivered them to Ranid Glowergold (36,28) at the Leatherworkers in the Magus Commerce Exchange in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag.

Gom's Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices in it today, not the best haul but not bad, I have had worse.

Wrann's Small Spice Bag had 6 Northern Spices in it, a great haul for Wrann today.

I did the daily fishing after that which had me heading down into the sewers to fish for a piece of Corroded Jewelry. I headed over to the Black Market to fsh for that, that is where I always fish for it and I always get my Corroded Jewelry in less than 10 casts, today was no exception. I turned the Corroded Jewelry in to Marcia for a Bag of Fishing Treasures.

Gom's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 7g21s91c, 2 Northsea Pearls, 2 Crafted Star, 2 Deviate Fish and a Runic Mana Potion. A whole lot of stuff but not really worth anything. The most valuable items were the Northsea Pearls and Mana Potion.

Wrann's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 9g62s16c, 3 Northsea Pearls, 2 Crafted Star, 2 Deviate Fish and a Velociraptor Skull. Not much there either.

The daily fishing still has a lot of great rewards I haven't gotten yet so I will keep plugging away at it.

Battlegrounds 6/15/09

I fought in all the battlegrounds on Wranngar today. The Alliance wasn't doing well for the most part. My daily battleground today was Arathi Basin, we won the second one I was in.

In the first AB battle I was in no one was defending anything which caused us to lose of course. People would run into a base, start it capping, then ride out.... We went around and around like that until we ended up losing by around 800 points. In the second battle we did better. People were defending nodes, not spreading out too much although we did lose a node here and there. It was a really close battle. We were ahead the whole time but not by much, we ended up winning by 40 points. After that I did two with Arkantose because he wanted to do the daily. We won one and lost one. I ended up with 2 wins and 2 losses for the day.

I fought in some Eye of the Storm after that, we were doing really bad in there. This is a battleground we usually dominate, but not so much lately. There was a lot of stupidity, no defending nodes, not even getting MT or DR, leaving nodes before they cap, going for the flag when we didn't even have a tower to bring it to, the list goes on and on. We did have 2 good battles out of the 4 I was in, we had 2 wins and 2 losses. Arkantose fought in 3 of those with me as well. In one of our wins we had a 4 cap going and had the Horde trapped on their rock, in the other we had a 3 cap although I was the only one guarding BET, there was one person guarding MT and no one at DR... Everyone was either in the middle or at FRR. Keeping pressure on the Hordes only node is good, it keeps them busy and keeps them off the flag and our nodes but not when you are leaving nodes empty. At least with one person at a node they can call incoming.

I fought in one Warsong Gulch tonight. I hate WSG. I really hate it. Salintu joined us for that one. I only went in because Arkantose wanted some Warsong Gulch Marks of Honor. We ended up getting owned as we usually do in WSG because the Alliance doesn't seem to know how to play it. There was no teamwork, people fighting in the middle while the Horde had our flag, it was sad to watch. The battleground leader pitched a fit and went AFK, that is the kind of teamwork we had going on. I don't even do this one when it is the daily.

All 3 of us fought in one Strand of the Ancients tonight. We lost that one too, I told you the Alliance was having a bad night. We didn't lose by much but lose we did. I think we were just outclassed because everyone seemed to be doing their part with the exception of the AFK, of which there were quite a few. There were quite a few in all the battlegrounds tonight.

Unbelievably we won the 3 Alterac Valley's the 3 of us fought in tonight. We won 2 on reinforcements and one by killing Drek with 2 towers up. I tanked that one. I don't have much in the way of tanking gear, all my gear is PvP, but I can hang onto whatever I set my sights on, I just depend on some good healers to keep me alive. We had some good ones tonight but with Drek, 2 Warmasters, 2 Elite Frostwolves and 3 or 4 Horde on me I ended up dying right before Drek went down. He did go down though and we won so it all worked out in the end. The battle ended before I rezz'd, that's how close he was to dying when I died. That was the only way we were going to win that one, we were pretty far behind on reinforcements.

And last but not least I fought in 2 Wintergrasp battles, one win and one loss. It is much better to be on offense in WG than defense in my opinion. Of course if you are on offense then it means you didn't have WG for the last 2 1/2 hours and that's no good either. In the ones I have fought in though we have had more wins on offense than defense. The win I fought in by myself, without Arkantose and Salintu but they were there for the second one, the loss. We didn't have any problem getting the fortress from the Horde when we were on offense and they got it back when they were on offense. I thought we were doing pretty good. They were inside the fortress but we were killing them left and right and I thought we were doing ok, but some got through to the gate and it was all over.

All in all I ended up getting 417 kills and 26,212 honor, not a bad day in the battlegrounds considering how bad the Alliance was sucking. That is almost like the old days when you could really rack up some honor and kills. I got 123 kills in one AV battle :).

Daily's 6/15/09

I did both my daily's on Gomorra today but could only do one on Wranngar. I got the daily cooking quest from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome but I couldn't target any of the items on Wrann. I could see them, and see other people come over and take them, but I couldn't target them. I abandoned it and got it again, I logged out and back on and got it again, nothing worked. Finally I gave up on Wrann. It was Cheese for Glowergold anyway, which I hate, but I did do it on Gom.

It took quite awhile to get the 6 Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses I needed which is why I hate this one. I got the cheese from One More Glass pretty fast. I could see the cheese on Wrann when I tried to do it on him, but I couldn't target it. Someone else just came over and took it. Once I had the wine and cheese on Gom I combined them on the platter to make a wine and cheese platter which I delivered to Ranid Glowergold (36,28 at the Leatherworkers in the Magus Commerce Exchange. He gave me 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag.

My Small Spice Bag had 4 Northern Spices in it, not a bad haul.

I did the daily fishing after that. Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran had Dangerously Delicious again so I was off to Wintergrasp to catch 10 Terrorfish.

It didn't take me too long to get the 10 Terrorfish I needed on both today. I am not using the +100 lures anymore unless I really, really need them. I don't have that many left. I looked in the auction house and they are going for 2g50s EACH! I am not paying that for them so I am saving what I have until I really need them. I have a bunch of Glow Worms on each but I am saving them for farming. Once I had the 10 Terrorfish I needed I headed back to Dalaran to hand them in to Marcia for a Bag of Fishing Treasures.

Gom's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 6g85s76c, a Glow Worm and a Tower Key which I sold to a vendor for 16g66s66c. Nothing great for Gom today.

Wrann's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 9g47s62c, 3 Elixirs of Water Walking, an Unusual Compass and 2 Deviate Fish. Not a great haul for Wrann today. Wrann did get a Siren's Tear out of a Giant Darkwater Clam, when he was fishing, they go for about 50 gold on the auction house so that made up for it a little for both.

Daily Battleground 6/14/09

My daily battleground today was Alterac Valley. It has been awhile since I was in AV, which used to be my favorite battleground until they made it so easy for the Horde to win and so hard for Alliance.

I got in about 27 minutes into the battle and we were winning on reinforcements. I had to go all the way to Frostwolf Graveyard before I saw any Horde. They never got any farther than that. A few stealthed through and tried to get a tower but they didn't have any luck there, we took them back almost as soon as they started them capping.

I pretty much stayed at FWGY and fought Horde, farming kills. I ended up getting over 40 HK's by the time it ended. As usual there were many AFK in this battle, something Blizzard has been "working" on for a couple years now... There was a time, before reinforcements, when the battles could last for hours and you could rack up hundreds of kills in there. Those were the good old days, but they are over. I usually spend most of my time now in EoS, AB and SoA.

I turned the daily in when I got back to Dalaran and got 13g23s and 1400+ honor. I need to get back into doing the daily battleground if I am going to skip all the daily's for The Sons of Hodir and the Knights of the Ebon Blade, the gold hasn't been piling up too fast since I stopped doing them lol. Truth is I got kind of burned out on them after doing them all for months straight, every day.

Daily's 6/14/09

I got my daily cooking and fishing done today. I didn't have time for much else. The daily fishing, I got from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was Dangerously Delicious and the daily cooking, from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, was Mustard Dogs!.

As usual I did the daily cooking first. It took me a little bit to find all my Wild Mustard on Wranngar but I got the 4 I needed right away on Gomorra. You find the Wild Mustard in the grassy area's around Dalaran. I have the best luck over by the Magus Commerce Exchange and the little park by the bank on that side of town. I also have pretty good luck at Krasus' Landing.

Once I had all the Wild Mustard I needed I headed over to the bank to get some Rhino Meat to make some Rhino Dogs. I combined them with the Wild Mustard, in the Empty Picnic Basket I was supplied, to make a Mustard Dog Basket! which I delivered to Archmage Pentarus (68,41) at Krasus' Landing in exchange for 9g93s, 2 Dalaran Cooking Awards and a Small Spice Bag.

Gom's Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices in it. Not the best haul for Gom but he has gotten worse.

Wrann's Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices and 4 Old Spices in it. He made out about the same as Gom today.

I did the daily fishing after that which had me heading over to Wintergrasp. We were in control of Wintergrasp while I was there on both toons. We didn't have any Horde resistance while I was there. I got the 10 Terrorfish I needed on each in pretty short order and headed back to Dalaran to hand them in to Marcia Chase. She gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures on each.

Wrann's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 10g64s6c, 5 Pygmy Oil, a Worthless Piece of White Glass, 4 Deviate Fish and a Runic Mana Potion. The gold and Runic Mana Potion are the only things there worth mentioning.

Gom's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 8g1s39c, a Glow Worm, a Stuffed Shark Head, which I only got 1g75s for from a vendor and 2 Deviate Fish. The Glow Worm was the only really useful thing I got from that.

There are still a lot of good rewards to be had from the daily fishing so I will keep plugging away at it. I will keep doing the daily cooking too, even though I have all the recipes and 450 cooking on both toons, because I need the awards and Northern Spices.

Eye of the Storm 6/12/09

Today's daily battleground was Eye of the Storm. I decided to do it on Wranngar, he is the only one I really PvP on anymore. Gomorra is just getting too old and tired to PvP :).

We lost the first battle I was in. I don't think it was so much a bad Alliance group, I think it was just a really good Horde group. The people I was fighting with were doing well but we couldn't seem to hold 2 towers. It was a long battle none the less as we kept uncapping Horde towers only to have them come and cap them again. I got a lot of kills and some pretty good honor out of that one even though we lost.

We won the next 4 battles in a row. We 4 capped 3 of them and had a good strong 3 cap going in the other one with a lot of flag running. In all 4 of those battles we beat them by over 1600 points. I thought we were having a good night but I soon saw we weren't.

We lost the next 3 battles we were in. I am not sure what happens but there is a time when it just changes. You go from winning owning to not even being able to hold one tower. I call this phenomenon - Nap time is over. It is the only thing I can think of that makes any kind of sense. I could see if it was EoS weekend but it's not, it's AV weekend. This happens at different times of the day but there is a pattern, it happens around the same times every day. Anyway we managed to hold a tower for most of one of the battles and lost to a 4 cap on the other two.

Monsterbelly Appetite 6/12/09

Once again I only did the daily cooking and fishing today, I just don't seem to have any enthusiasm for the others. The daily fishing I got today, from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was Monsterbelly Appetite.

This is a pretty fast and simple quest that had me taking the flight path from Dalaran over to Unu'pe. From there I flew out to sea, to the icebergs just a little southeast of the flightpoint. Using my fish finding skills I located a school of Deep Sea Monsterbelly. I fished that until I had my Bloated Monsterbelly. It took me 2 casts on Gomorra and 4 casts on Wranngar.

I took the severed arm I recovered from the Bloated Monsterbelly and gave it to Olisarra the Kind, (36,37) the Grand Master First Aid Trainer in the Magus Commerce Exchange in Dalaran, in exchange for a Bag of Fishing Treasures. She is going to attempt to reunite the arm with the fisherman it was torn off of.

Gom's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 6g11s10c, 4 Pygmy Oil, 2 Crafted Star and 4 Deviate Fish, not the best day for Gom.

Wrann's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 6g56s26c, 3 Pygmy Oil, a Velociraptor Skull and 2 Deviate Fish. Not the best haul for Wrann either.

After that I did the daily cooking, which I got from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome. Today it was Mustard Dogs!.

I started running around Dalaran looking for Wild Mustard to pick. It started out ok, then I noticed some benches were missing. After that I noticed I was the only person in Dalaran. Shortly after that I was disconnected from the server. When I logged back in I finished getting all the Wild Mustard I needed and headed over tot he bank to cook some Rhino Dogs. Once I had them cooked up I combined them, in the Empty Picnic Basket I was given when I accepted the quest, with the Wild Mustard to make a Mustard Dog Basket!.

I delivered that to Archmage Pentarus (68,41) at Krasus' Landing in exchange for 9g93s, 2 Dalaran Cooking Awards and a Small Spice Bag.

Wrann's Small Spice Bag had 4 Northern Spices and 5 Baby Spice in it. Not a bad haul from this daily.

Gom's Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices in it. Not a bad haul for Gom either. There is just no more to get from this daily, just the spices and awards, I have everything else it has to offer.

Daily's 6/10/09

I did the daily fishing and cooking today, that's as far as I got. The daily fishing, from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was Jewel Of The Sewers and the daily cooking, from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, was Sewer Stew.

I headed down into the sewers to do Jewel of the Sewers first. I headed over to my spot in the Black Market and got my Corroded Jewelry on both toons in less than 5 casts. I have always done this daily in the Black Market. I tried once in the middle area and once by the inn but I have always had the best luck in the Black Market. Another plus is there is never anyone there. Today there was one person fishing there when I was on Gomorra and no one else there when I was on Wranngar.

I turned my piece of Corroded Jewelry in to Marcia Chase in exchange for a Bag of Fishing Treasures.

Gom's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 7g63s97c, 3 Elixirs of Water Walking and a Worthless Piece of Violet Glass. Not a great haul for Gom.

Wrann's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 6g72s49c, a Glow Worm, 3 Worthless Pieces of Red Glass and 4 Deviate Fish. Not a great haul for Wrann either.

I took the Violet Gate down to Crystalsong Forest after that to do the daily cooking. I had to collect 4 Crystalsong Carrots for my Sewer Stew. I got them pretty quick, there was one other person there doing it at that time and they left soon after I got there. When I went back on Wrann there was no one there and he got his fast too. I took them back to Dalaran and cooked them up with some Chilled Meat I got out of the guild bank, I keep a lot of meat for the daily cooking stored in there. That gave me Vegetable Stew which I delivered to Ajay Green at the Cantrips and Crows Tavern in the Underbelly in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag.

Wrann's Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices in it, kind of a rip off after having to go down to Crystalsong Forest to pick the carrots.

Gom's Small Spice Bag had 4 Northern Spices and another Dalaran Cooking Award in it. Gom made out a little better today. Gom has all the Northrend recipes and can cook everything in Northrend. He is saving up his awards for the Chef's Hat to complete that accomplishment.

Northrend Daily's 6/9/09

I only did the daily cooking and fishing on Wranngar and Gomorra again today. I just haven't had the time to do the others lately.

The daily cooking, I picked up from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf and the daily fishing, I got from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was Dangerously Delicious again today.

I headed down into the sewers to do the daily cooking first. I got my 4 Infused Mushrooms on Gom pretty quick but it took a little longer for Wrann to get his. Once I had 4 on each I headed over to the bank for some Chilled Meat which I cooked up with the Infused Mushrooms to make Infused Mushroom Meatloaf. It takes 2 Chilled Meat for each meatloaf and I always keep a couple stacks of all the meat I need for the daily cooking in the bank.

I delivered those to Orton Bennet upstairs at Curiosities and Moore in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag.

Wrann's Small Spice Bag had 4 Northern Spices in it, not a bad haul.

Gom's Small Spice Bag had 6 Northern Spices in it, not a bad haul for Gom either.

I headed over to Wintergrasp after that to do the daily fishing, Dangerously Delicious. For this daily you need to catch 10 Terrorfish in Wintergrasp, the PvP zone.

I took the flight path in to Wintergrasp, so I didn't get dismounted, then started fishing right there at the Sunken Ring. It really didn't take me long on either to get my 10 Terrorfish today. There were no Horde attacks while I was there fishing on either toon. I flew back to Dalaran and turned the 10 Terrorfish over to Marcia Chase and she gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures for my trouble.

Gom's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 8g38s6c, 4 Pygmy Oil and an Unusual Compass while Wrann's had 8g83s17c, 3 Pygmy Oil and 3 Worthless Pieces of Green Glass that I sell to a vendor for 5c each. Neither of them made out too good on the daily fishing today. There are still a lot of great rewards to be had from this daily though, I haven't got the Jeweled Fishing Pole on either, I don't have Eternium Fishing Line on Wrann's Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole, I don't have any of the Dalaran fishing pets on either and much more. As I said, there is still a lot to be had.

AB and EoS 6/8/09

My daily battleground today was Arathi Basin. I did it on Wranngar and it took 6 battles to get a win. It was some of the worst PvP play I have seen in a while.

In 2 of the battles I got in towards the end and they were a 4 cap and 5 cap in Hordes favor. There was no teamwork at all, people were just running around doing their own thing, going off in ones and twos to get ganked by groups of Horde. On the off chance that we actually got a node capping, everyone would leave before it capped so all the Horde had to do was walk in and defend it. In one battle I got into we had to have been at least a minute into it, there were Alliance fighting at the farm, but no one had gotten the Stables or tried for the Lumber Mill, it was crazy.

Finally in the 6th battle I got in with a decent group. We had a 4 cap going for most the battle, had all 5 nodes at one time but not capped, and maintained at least a 3 cap at all times. We won that one by over 1,000. There were a lot of AFK in all the battles I was in, I think that is because season 6 has started and all the AFK slackers are trying to get the new honor gear. Anyway we finally won one and I could stop wasting my time in there. The first battle I was in, we had a 4 cap and ended up losing 1740/2000 on a Horde 5 cap, took 38 minutes.

I fought on 3 Eye of the Storm battles too, 2 wins and one loss. The one we lost was due to no team work and flag tards. Flag tards are people who go for the flag when we don't even have a node to bring it to. When you come off the rock and 3/4 of your team runs right to the flag you know it's all over. There just weren't enough of us left to take nodes and defend them.

The first of the 2 battles we won wasn't really do to good teamwork on the Alliance's part, it was more due to really bad teamwork on the Horde part. DR was undefended almost the entire battle, we lost it to Horde near the end, and everyone was fighting in the middle or on the roads. Fighting on the roads gets you nothing, you need to fight on the nodes if you want to take them.

The third and last battle I was in we won due to good teamwork. We started off getting DR, BET and MT. We kept the pressure on at FRR so all the Horde were occupied there trying to defend that and we were able to run the flag without much interference. The Horde lost FRR a couple times but we were never quite able to cap it. We had at least one person on each node calling incomings and we held onto our 3 throughout the battle.

I might get back on a little later and do some more.

Full Contact Daily Fishing 6/8/09

Today's daily fishing was Dangerously Delicious. I picked it up from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran.

This had me heading over to the flight point in Wintergrasp. That drops you off at the Sunken Ring, which is as good a place as any to fish. This is where most people fish and, as it is a PvP zone, there is safety in numbers.

Gomorra flew in and got his 10 Terrorfish without any problem at all. There were a few people fishing there at the time. When Wranngar flew in he immediately got ganked by 3 horde, 2 DK's and a Pally. I ended up at the GY where there were a few more people. The GY is in a protected area the Horde can't get to, so they were at the bottom waiting for someone to get close enough to the edge for the DK to pull down. We decided to hit them as a group and owned them. They came back several times after that but it just kept getting worse for them as more people were staying behind after they were done fishing to see if they would come back lol. The last time they came back they lasted for less than 10 seconds then they gave up I guess. I waited 5 more minutes then went to turn in my Terrorfish to Macria Chase. She gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures with nothing too exciting in it.

I got 5 kills doing my daily fishing though and had a lot of fun doing it :).

Daily Fishing and Cooking 6/7/09

I only did the daily fishing and cooking today, I didn't have a whole lot of time. Today's fishing quest, from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was The Ghostfish. The daily cooking, from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, was Cheese for Glowergold. I hate Cheese for Glowergold, it has to be the worst daily ever.

I did the cooking first, I ran around Dalaran on Gomorra looking for Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses, collecting them until I had the 6 I needed (I skipped this one on Wranngar). Once I had my 6 glasses I headed over to One More Glass, the wine and cheese shop in Dalaran, to see if I could find some Aged Dalaran Limburger. That went a lot quicker than collecting the half empty wine glasses. I right clicked on the platter I was given at the start of the quest which combined the wine and cheese into a wine and cheese platter. I gave that to Ranid Glowergold (36,28 at the Leatherworkers in the Magus Commerce Exchange in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag.

My Small Spice Bag had 4 Northern Spices in it, hardly worth getting out of bed for. I banked the spices, I have a little over 400 now, and I am saving the awards for a Chef's Hat so I can complete that achievement.

After that I headed over to Rivers Heart in Sholazar Basin to fish for the elusive Ghostfish. I like to fish up top a little northeast of the flight point. I have a root there that I stand on (49,55) and fish. I usually catch my Phantom Ghostfish in 10 casts or less. You do not need to fish from a school and I think you can fish just about anywhere in Sholazar Basin for them but this is where I go every time. When I caught the Phantom Ghostfish I ate it right away, it is on a timer that starts clocking as soon as you loot it, you have 60 seconds before it disappears. I guess that is why not many people have seen them, kind of hard to transport them anywhere lol. When you eat it you go into an 'altered' state. You have to do it to know what I am talking about, but the picture above will give you an idea.

I headed back to Marcia Chase and told her what I found and she gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures.

Gom's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 7g87s2c, a Glow Worm, a New Age Painting signed by Marcia Chase, which I sold to a vendor for 25 gold, and 3 Deviate Fish. Not a bad haul for Gom, not great but the Glow Worm's are nice, they give you +100 to fishing skill for one hour, good for farming cooking mats, and the 25 gold from the painting was nice.

Wrann's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 10g35s20c, 5 Pygmy Oil and 2 Worthless Pieces of Green Glass. Not a great day for Wrann but there are still some great rewards to be had from this daily.
