Daily Cooking - Infused Mushroom Meatloaf 11/27/09

The daily cooking Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome had for me today was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf. This is a pretty easy one. All I had to do was pick some Infused Mushrooms and cook them up with some Chilled Meat.

I headed down into the sewers to pick some Infused Mushrooms, I needed 4. I don't even want to know what they are infused with growing in a sewer and all. I got them pretty quick, I didn't see anyone else doing it while I was down there. Once I had my mushrooms in hand I headed over to the bank to grab some Chilled Meat, I needed 2 pieces of that. I cooked the Chilled Meat and Infused Mushrooms into a meatloaf and headed over to see Orton Bennet upstairs at Curiosities and Moore. He gave me 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag for the meatloaf. Today my Small Spice Bag had 4 Northern Spices in it. Not a bad haul today.

Daily Fishing - Blood is Thicker 11/26/09

The daily fishing today was Blood Is Thicker. This one's not bad. It is a little time consuming though.

I take the flight path to Unu'pe in Borean Tundra to do it but I have also seen people doing it by Lake Kum'uya in Borean Tundra too. You have to do it in Borean Tundra so you get the blood of something you kill on you. A little side note: If you're wondering what the Druids from D.E.H.T.A. will do/say if you go up to them while you are covered with blood, the answer is, they will kill you. I found that out personally. Evidently they are tree huggers that have no issues about killing people.

Anyway I flew over to Unu'pe in Borean Tundra and headed straight inland until I found a Marsh Caribou. I killed it and got covered in blood then headed back to the shore and jumped into the water. That washes the blood off and creates a blood pool. All you have to do then is fish in the blood pool until you catch 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy. You catch them in multiples of 2 or 3 so it doesn't take long. You will always catch some if your bobber lands in the pool. I already had 2 in my bags from the last time I did it so I got the other 3 I needed in a couple casts and was on my way back to see Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran.

I turned the 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy in to her and she gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures. Today it had 7g85s84c, a Glow Worm, good thing too, I only have 38 of those, a Whale Statue which I sold to a vendor for 11 gold and 2 Deviate Fish. Not a bad haul today with the statue. It put me over 18 gold altogether. There are a lot of good rewards out there somewhere for this daily and I am still hoping to get them. It has been awhile since I got anything good so I am due.

Daily Cooking - Sewer Stew 11/26/09

The daily cooking today was Sewer Stew. I haven't had that one in awhile, it is the only one you have to leave Dalaran to complete, assuming you keep meat on hand for the daily's.

I took the portal down to Crystalsong Forest and went over to the spot where the Crystalsong Carrots grow. They grow near some old ruins directly below Dalaran. There was no one there and I got the 4 I needed in no time. I took the portal back up to Dalaran and headed to the bank for some Chilled Meat to cook them up with. Once I had the stew made I headed down to see Ajay Green at the Cantrips and Crows Tavern in the Underbelly. I exchanged the stew for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 4 Northern Spices in it. Not a bad haul as I can use the spices, I have been burning through them cooking lately. Been doing a lot of cooking. I really like the Chef's Hat, it cuts your cooking time down to about a second a piece. It is really fast. It comes in handy when you are cooking stacks of something, which I have been doing lately.

Gone Fishin'

I needed to make some more Poached Northern Sculpin so I went fishing for Musselback Sculpin. I catch these in Borean Tundra at Lake Kum'uya (around 50,46). If you are fishing in Borean Tundra you should have fish finding ability by now so all you have to do is look for the schools. They are all around the lake. You never have to wait, you just move on to the next one and keep working your way around the lake. They are the only schools of fish there unless someone makes a blood pool.

Fishing anywhere in WoW can have it's surprises. Today I was being attacked by Loot Crazed Hunters and Loot Crazed Divers while I fished, that was not too bad. There are a lot worse things that can attack you when you're fishing. I fished for 22 minutes and got 44 Mussleback Sculpin, 37 Pygmy Suckerfish, 6 Crystallized Water, 2 Reinforced Crates with 4 Borean Leather Scraps in one and 3 Cobalt Ore in the other. Not a bad day of fishing.

Daily Fishing - Dangerously Delicious 11/25/09

The daily fshing quest today was Dangerously Delicious. This one can be exciting whether you want it to or not. The only place you can catch Terrorfish is Wintergrasp, the PvP area. Once you land there you are flagged for combat and the Horde like to gank people trying to fish.

I took the flight path from Dalaran to the flight point in Wintergrasp. You can fish right there and that's what I did. There was a Deathknight, a Hunter and a Mage fishing there with me. The only Horde we saw was a Druid in flight form flying over. I got my 10 Terrorfish in 23 casts today which was really quick compared to the number of casts I have been doing lately to get my 10.

I took the flight path back to Dalaran and went to see Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain. I turned them in to her and she gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures which today had 8g37s73c, 5 Pygmy Oil, 3 Solid Gold Coins and 4 Deviate Fish. All pretty much junk except for the 3 gold coins which I sold to a vendor for 3 gold. I am still waiting to get the Jeweled Fishing Pole from this daily and the Eternium Fishing Line for Wranngar, Gomorra already got it. Wrann is still getting by with his Spun Truesilver Fishing Line. There are also some nice gems you can get from this daily. I have already gotten the Solid Stormjewel and the Bold Stormjewel. I have the Strand Crawler on Wrann already too. Gom has Toothy's Bucket from the Outlands daily fishing quest, Wrann never got that one. I check once in awhile, when I think of it, to see if the Outlands daily is Crocolisks in the City as that is the daily Gom got it from and I think that is the only one that has a chance of giving it.

Daily Cooking - Infused Mushroom Meatloaf 11/25/09

The daily cooking was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf again today. So much for variety. At least it is a quick easy one you don't have to leave Dalaran for.

I headed down into the sewers again to pick some Infused Mushrooms. One thing I have noticed lately, while I haven't had any problem getting my mushrooms, is they seemed to have changed the spawn points for them in some areas. There are a few spots that I always go to, and have been going to lately, that they just don't seem to spawn in anymore. I have also found some where I have never seen them before. This could just be a case of someone coming along and picking them before me but I find it hard to believe they are picking them right before I get there every time. I also find it hard to believe that then ones I find in new areas have always been spawning there. I have been doing this daily for quite awhile and I'm not buying it.

Anyway I got my 4 Infused Mushrooms pretty quick, a couple in the old spots and a couple in new spots, and headed to the bank for some Chilled Meat too cook them up with. Once I had my meatloaf cooked I headed over to see Orton Bennet upstairs at Curiosities and Moore and exchanged it for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 2 Northern Spices and another Dalaran Cooking Award in it. I have about 60 awards now, that could buy me 600 Northern Spices, but I'm not going to spend them. I got caught off guard with the Chef's Hat they came out with, having spent all my awards on spices. It took me awhile to save up the 100 to get it. That won't happen again.

New Blog - WoW Broadcaster

Starting today I will be posting all my battleground experiences at my new blog, WoW Broadcaster. I decided to start a blog dealing strictly with battlegrounds to kind of separate things a little. I originally started out blogging about the battlegrounds on Wordpress with A WoW Battleground Weblog a couple years ago, but switched to Blogger and started A World of Warcraft Blog because Wordpress doesn't allow you to put Adsense on your blogs there. I will be updating the new blog every day with my battleground experiences. I will continue updating this blog every day with everything else World of Warcraft related.

World of Warcraft 5-Year Anniversary Celebration Begins!

The World of Warcraft 5 year anniversary celebration is officially kicked off. Everyone who logs in between now and midnight (Server Time) December 6th will get their very own Onyxian Whelpling non-combat pet, along with a message from the development team. There are more World of Warcraft 5-year and Warcraft 15-year anniversary festivities coming and I will keep you updated as they become available.

Wranngar - 75,000 Lifetime Kills

I passed the 75,000 lifetime kills mark on Wranngar tonight, that puts me over three quarters of the way to the achievement 100000 Honorable Kills and my title, "of the Alliance". I have been doing between 10 and 30 battlegrounds a day lately. That is giving me between 700 and 1,500 kills a day. I will have my title this year I'm sure. That is the last achievement you get for quantity of kills. After that I will work on getting all the rest of the PvP and battleground achievements done.

The Battle for Alterac Valley 11/24/09

I fought in 26 battles tonight in Alterac Valley on Wranngar. We had 16 wins and 10 losses. The Alliance was doing Ok in there tonight for the most part. Alterac Valley was also my daily battleground today.

We had one battle we won on reinforcements, we were just slaughtering the Horde. We drove them back from SHGY all the way to the Frostwolf Relief Hut then we took that away from them too, they were rezzing in their cave :). That was a great battle, I ended up getting 276 honorable kills out of that one. I got a lot of honor tonight too. We did a few Blitz's and a few almost Blitz's where we won fast but didn't do it in under 6 minutes. The Horde did a few Blitz's as well. Lately they seem to be trying to Blitz a lot. Over 3/4 of the battles I was in I would say they tried the Blitz. They were not successful on all of them, obviously, but we did have some pretty short battles we lost.

In one of the battles I was in we had an alleged Warrior 'Tank' tanking Drek. They said I was taunting Drek off of them. What I used was Demoralizing Roar which reduces his armor but no real threat. It gives the lightning bolt over his head when I do it and they thought I was taunting him off them. The problem was they were just a crap tank that couldn't hold him. He kept getting away from them and killing the healers. If Demoralizing Roar can pull a mob off you when you're tanking you should just stick to defending towers or DPS and leave the tanking to someone who can hold him. And if I was pulling him off he would have been on me, not the healers. Just some sorry excuse for a player trying to blame someone else for their incompetence.

The Battle for Wintergrasp 11/24/09

I fought in 3 Wintergrasp battles tonight on Wranngar, 2 wins and 1 loss.

In one of the wins we were defending and in the loss we were also defending. In the last battle I fought in the Horde were defending the keep and we won that one. The secret when the Horde are defending the keep seems to be to get their southern towers down as fast as possible. Once you have those 3 towers down it is pretty much wrapped up from what I can see. All that's left after that is clean up. Of course the Horde are trying to destroy the southern towers when we are defending the keep so we have to defend those as best we can as well.
