Blood is Thicker - Daily Fishing again... 12/16/09

Today Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, had Blood Is Thicker for me, for the 3rd day in a row...

This one had me taking the flight path to Unu'pe. Once there I flew inland until I found a Marsh Caribou to kill. I killed that, getting myself covered in blood in the process, and flew back to shore. I jumped in the water to wash the blood off and create a blood pool. I fished the blood pool until I caught 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy.

I hearthed back to Dalaran and turned those into Marcia in exchange for a Bag of Fishing Treasures. Today it had 6g90s23c, 5 Pygmy Oil and a Tower Key. At least I was able to vendor the Tower Key for 16g66s66c so it wasn't a total loss.

Daily Cooking - Sewer Stew 12/16/09

Today when I saw Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, she had Sewer Stew for me. This is an easy one.

This one had me taking the Violet Gate down to Crystalsong Forest to pick Crystalsong Carrots. Like the last few times there was no one there and I got my 4 fast. I took the gate back up to Dalaran and hit the bank for some Chilled Meat to cook them up with, I needed 4.

Once I had that cooked I headed down into the sewers to see Ajay Green at the Cantrips and Crows Tavern in the Underbelly and exchanged the stew for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices and another Dalaran Cooking Award in it. Not a bad haul today.

Daily Cooking - Cheese for Glowergold 12/14/09

Today Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, gave me Cheese for Glowergold for my daily cooking. This is not one of my favorites because of the 6 Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses you have to collect. They are small and really hard to target. On the plus side they either spawn more often or less people are doing this daily because I haven't really had any problem getting all 6 pretty quickly and easily lately.

This had me running around Dalaran looking for wine glasses. I usually hit A Hero's Welcome, the Inn where I pick up the quest, One More Glass, the wine and cheese shop, The Legerdemain and Cantrips and Crows Tavern in the Underbelly to find them. Today I only had to hit a couple of these places to get all 6. I got the piece of Aged Dalaran Limburger in One More Glass. I found it upstairs today.

If you read this quest basically what you are doing is taking all these half full wine glasses people have left laying around and pouring them into a bottle. Then you combine the bottle and cheese on a wine platter and deliver it to Ranid Glowergold (36,28) at the Leatherworkers in the Magus Commerce Exchange. They say he won't know the difference. Kind of deceptive.

Anyway I got all the stuff I needed, combined it on the platter that was supplied to me by right clicking on the platter while all the items were in my bags, and delivered it to Glowergold. He gave me 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices and another Dalaran Cooking Award in it. Not a bad haul today.

Blood is Thicker - Daily Fishing 12/14/09

Today when I went to see Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, she had Blood Is Thicker for me. This is a really easy one.

This had me taking the flight path out of Dalaran to Unu'pe. Once there I flew inland until I found a Marsh Caribou to kill. Any game that the Druids don't want you to kill in Borean Tundra will work, as long as it covers you in blood. I killed that and got covered in blood then flew back to shore and jumped in. That washed the blood off me and created a blood pool for me to fish out of. I fished that until I caught 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy, the fish I needed for the quest.

I hearthed back to Dalaran and turned those in to Marcia in exchange for a Bag of Fishing Treasures. Today it had 9g52s61c, 3 Elixirs of Water Walking, a Worthless Piece of Orange Glass and 4 Deviate Fish. The Elixirs are nice but everything else was pretty much junk. I am really due to get something nice from this daily, I hope it happens soon.

It's Christmas in World of Warcraft

It's the Christmas season in World of Warcraft and that means Christmas quests. I took some time out from the battlegrounds on Wranngar tonight to do some of them. The more quests you complete the more gifts you get. The Christmas gifts can contain pets that are only available though the gifts, or the auction house after if people decide to sell them. I have gotten a few pets in the past, some I kept, some I gave away, but I have never sold any.

I started off with Treats for Greatfather Winter. Greatfather Winter is located outside the bank in Ironforge. For this one it helps to have cooking and the recipe for Gingerbread Cookie because Greatfather Winter likes his Gingerbread Cookies. I made up 25 total cookies and got 5 glasses of Milk from a vendor. I gave Greatfather Winter his 5 cookies and 1 glass of milk, then I sent some cookies and milk to 2 of my other characters and gave 2 sets away to lower level players. There were people selling 5 cookies and a glass of milk for 10 gold but I think that is taking advantage of the situation. I collected the Small Eggs I would need awhile ago in Westfall.

I did Metzen the Reindeer next. For this one you need to go to Searing Gorge and rescue Metzen the Reindeer. You do that by locating him (69,34) and sprinkling some dust on him. That teleports him back home. This one only takes a couple minutes and the majority of the time is spent waiting your turn as there is usually people there waiting to do it.

When I got back to Ironforge I picked up The Hero of the Day which had me going back to Searing Gorge to kill a Heavy War Golem which drops Deeprock Salt. I got lucky and got it on my first kill and was on my way back to Ironforge. I used the Deeprock Salt and 5 gold to create 5 Preserved Holly at a machine they have there. Preserved Holly is what turns your mount into a reindeer.

The next quest was a 2 part. The first one was The Reason for the Season where you have to go talk to Historian Karnik of the Explorers League and he gives you a book, that is part one and leads to The Feast of Winter Veil. For The Feast of Winter Veil you need to take the book and give it to King Magni Bronzebeard in Ironforge. That completes that set.

This next one was also a 2 part. The first part is Stolen Winter Veil Treats. For this you have to go to Southshore then head up into the Alterac Mountains to find the Smokey Pastures guy (35,72) who is disguised as a snowman. He is freezing to death up there and gives you another quest, You're a Mean One.... For this you have to go find the The Abominable Greench, kill him and get the stolen treats back. You hand this in back in Ironforge.

Then you get a couple quick quests to see Greatfather Winter which pay 9 gold and some silver each. You can make a nice piece of change from these quests and they pay off come Christmas day when you get your gifts. I recommend doing them if you have the time, and it doesn't really take much time.

Daily Cooking - Infused Mushroom Meatloaf 12/13/09

Today Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, had Infused Mushroom Meatloaf for my daily cooking. This is a nice easy one you don't have to leave Dalaran for as long as you keep some meat on hand.

First off I headed down into the sewers to pick Infused Mushrooms, I needed 4. I got them pretty quick, it seems like less people are doing the daily cooking lately. With those in hand I headed back up to the bank for a couple pieces of Chilled Meat. I made a fire and cooked that up with the mushrooms to make my meatloaf.

I took that over to Orton Bennet upstairs at Curiosities and Moore and exchanged it for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award, a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices and 5 Baby Spice in it. Nothing to write home about but about the best I can expect from this daily as I have already gotten everything else it has to offer. I am just doing it for the Northern Spices now.

Daily Fishing - The Ghostfish 12/13/09

Today I had The Ghostfish for my daily fishing. This one is getting old, it is coming up way too often.

This one had me taking the flight path out to River's Heart in Sholazar Basin, between battlegrounds, to catch the elusive Phantom Ghostfish. I went to my usual spot, above and a little northwest of the flight point, and fished until I got one, it took 15 casts today. I ate it right away as it is on a timer that starts clocking as soon as you loot it. You have 60 seconds. You need to be careful because it looks a lot like a Pygmy Suckerfish and you can overlook it if you are not paying attention.

I flew back to Dalaran and told Marcia Chase what I had found out, mystery solved. She gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures with 10g44s32c, 4 Pygmy Oil, 4 Solid Gold Coins and 4 Deviate Fish for my trouble. More junk, although the gold coins sell to a vendor for 1 gold each.

Daily Cooking - Cheese for Glowergold 12/12/09

Today my daily cooking was Cheese for Glowergold. I picked that up from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome.

This had me running all over Dalaran looking for Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses. I had to go to a few places today to get the 6 I needed, the Inn where I got the quest, the Legerdemain and One More Glass, the wine and cheese shop. I also picked up the piece of Aged Dalaran Limburger I needed while I was at the wine and cheese shop.

I combined them on the platter, supplied when I picked up the quest, then headed over to see Ranid Glowergold (36,28) at the Leatherworkers in the Magus Commerce Exchange. I exchanged the wine and cheese platter for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and 3 Northern Spices. An Ok return on this daily, there is really nothing else to get besides the spices and awards.

Daily Fishing - Blood is Thicker 12/12/09

Today Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, had Blood Is Thicker for me.

This one had me taking the flight path to Unu'pe, then flying inland in search of a Marsh Caribou to rip apart so I could get covered in blood. It didn't take me long to find one, which I killed covering me in blood. I flew back to the shore and jumped in creating a blood pool to fish from. I fished that until I had my 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy. This didn't take long as you catch them in 2's and 3's.

I hearthed back to Dalaran and turned those in to Marcia in exchange for a Bag of Fishing Treasures. Today it had 7g63s8c, a Northsea Pearl and a Worthless Piece of Red Glass. More junk.

Daily Cooking - Infused Mushroom Meatloaf 12/11/09

Today Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, gave me Infused Mushroom Meatloaf for my daily cooking.

This had me heading down into the sewers to pick Infused Mushrooms. This didn't take me long at all and I found a Underbelly Elixir as a bonus while I was doing it. Once I had my 4 mushrooms in hand I headed back up to the bank to grab a couple pieces of Chilled Meat. I made a fire and cooked those up with the mushrooms to make my meatloaf. I took that over to Orton Bennet upstairs at Curiosities and Moore and exchanged it for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices and another Dalaran Cooking Award in it. Not a bad haul today.

Daily Fishing - Monsterbelly Appetite 12/11/09

Today when I went to see Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, she gave me Monsterbelly Appetite for my daily fishing.

This had me taking the flight path to Unu'pe, in the Borean Tundra. Once there I flew out to sea in a southeasterly direction until I was at the icebergs. I flew around until I found a school of Monsterbelly then fished it until I caught a Bloated Monsterbelly. I hearthed back to Dalaran and turned that in to Marcia.

She gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures with 6g60s25c, 3 Pygmy Oil, 3 Deviate Fish and a Sealed Vial of Poison.

Sealed Vial of Poison starts a quest so I opened it and accepted the quest. That took me to the Black Market in the Underbelly to see Alchemist Cinesra. I gave him the Sealed Vial of Poison and he gave me 13g23s, a really simple quest. I love getting this because it only takes a minute to do and pays well for no time or effort.

Daily Cooking - Sewer Stew 12/10/09

Today, when I went to see Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, my daily cooking was Sewer Stew. I hadn't had this one in a while, it is the only daily cooking you have to leave Dalaran to complete, assuming you keep some meat on hand for the daily's.

This one had me taking the Violet Gate down to Crystalsong Forest to pick some Crystalsong Carrots. When you get there you will need to fly/travel Northeast to some old ruins directly below Dalaran. I got my 4 mushrooms pretty quick, there was no one else there doing it at the time. I took the gate back up to Dalaran and hit the bank for some Chilled Meat. I cooked that up with the carrots then headed down into the sewers to see Ajay Green at the Cantrips and Crows Tavern in the Underbelly. I gave him the stew and he gave me 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 2 Northern Spices in it. Not a great return on this daily.

Daily Fishing - Jewel of the Sewers for a change 12/10/09

Today, when I went to see Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, for my daily fishing, she had Jewel Of The Sewers for a change. If it was The Ghostfish again I would have skipped it. I had that 3 days in a row and it really eats up a lot of time flying all the way out to Sholazar Basin.

This one had me heading down into the sewers, between battlegrounds, to my spot in the Black Market. I got called away to a couple battlegrounds but I finally got my piece of Corroded Jewelry after 19 casts, took awhile today. I took that back up and turned it in to Marcia in exchange for a Bag of Fishing Treasures.

Today it had 6g56s69c, a Northsea Pearl, a Worthless Piece of Red Glass and 4 Deviate Fish in it. Not a great haul today.
