Stratholme - Mount & Rep Runs 11/19/10

I did some mount and rep runs in Stratholme on Breeonna and Brieanna tonight. I didn't expect the mount to drop and it didn't in the 5 runs we did. I did get some rep tho. There were 3 of us that were doing these runs, me and 2 people from the guild. We had no problem at all because it is a level 60 dungeon and one 80 could solo it, never mind 3.

What we were after, besides rep, was the Deathcharger's Reins that drop off Baron Rivendare. It has a .02% drop rate, not that great. I have done runs for this mount before but have never seen it drop. I know it does drop because I see people riding it, but not a lot of people riding one.

I did manage to get the Key to the City, which drops off Magistrate Barthilas, for Bireanna and Breeonna, which allows you to enter through the servants entrance and open gates inside so you can do quick mount runs. I now have this key on Brieanna, Breeonna, Wranngar and Gomorra.

The reason I was trying this again was someone said they are revamping the classic dungeons and this mount, along with others is going away. I have not verified that but I am going to look into it.

Stratholme - Baron Rivendare's Steed - 6/27/09

I ran Thayah through Stratholme on Wranngar a couple times tonight, he wanted the Deathcharger's Reins from Baron Rivendare. We went in the service entrance, we both had the key. You need the key to go in the service entrance and it really cuts a lot of time off. Only one person needs to have the key.

We went and killed the mobs we needed to kill to take down the crystals which lifts the gate enabling you to go into Slaughter Square where Baron Rivendare is located. Once you are in there you have to kill all the mobs outside, then kill all the skeletons that come in, then kill his personal guard that comes out, then you can go in and kill him. You must make sure everyone is in the room before you attack him as the door closes as soon as he is attacked. It doesn't open again until he is dead. I am not sure if you get credit, making you able to loot, if you are outside the door when he dies. It didn't drop the first time so we reset the instance and tried again, no better luck the second time. The Deathchargers Reins has a very, very low drop rate. I have gone after it numerous times and have never seen it drop. I know it does because I see people riding it, but I think it is just luck.

Thayah got a lot of nice blue drops, most of which he couldn't use but could sell to a vendor for a little gold. My repair bill was over 11 gold for those 2 runs. We didn't have any deaths.

Dungeons 3/12/09

I did my daily cooking as soon as I got on Wranngar. Today the daily cooking quest was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf so I headed down into the sewers in search of some Infused Mushrooms. It took me about 5 minutes to get the 4 I needed then I headed over to the bank to grab a couple pieces of Chilled Meat to cook them up with. Once I had my Infused Mushroom Meatloaf cooked up I delivered it in exchange for a Dalaran Cooking Award, 9g93s and a Small Spice Bag. Today my Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices, 3 Baby Spice and another Dalaran Cooking Award. A pretty good haul today.

The rest of the night I spent in various dungeons. Salintu invited me to run Upper Blackrock Spire and Stratholme with her and Stalleris. She is going for the Classic Dungeonmaster achievement. We ended up doing Lower Blackrock Spire, Upper Blackrock Spire and Blackrock Depths. Took us a few hours but I got the achievements for all 3 plus the Leeeeeeeeeeeeeroy! achievement. The Leeeeeeeeeeeeroy! achievement was a lot of fun. I went into bear form and ran through all these eggs breaking them open and letting dragon whelplings out. They were also breaking eggs near them so when I ran back to where Salintu and Stalleris were I must have had 80-100 or more of them on me. They hit them with AoE's and took them all down. You need to kill 50 in 15 seconds to get the achievement so we had it no problem. I got 4 achievements and had a lot of fun doing it. I am not sure if they did Stratholme or not after I logged off, but if they didn't, maybe they will want to do it tonight.

Instances 10/11/08

I helped a guildy, Arkantose, out tonight on Wranngar to get his level 60 Epic Paladin mount. To do that we had to go into Stratholme to get some holy water, from there, after he turned in and got the next quest, we went into Dire Maul West and killed the big tree in there. From there we had to go into Scholomance for the last part of the quest chain. In Scholo we had to summon and defeat a Deathknight to complete the chain at which time he received his mount. It took about half the night but was a lot of fun. Any of the old 60 instances are a lot of fun when you are 70 :). He was lucky, he got his right at 60, Gomorra didn't do his Dreadsteed (Warlock Epic Mount) quest until he was level 70, I just got the Reins of the Black War Tiger from the battlegrounds for him at level 62. I only did the Dreadsteed quest to have it because, as a Warlock, I should. I don't ride it much, I prefer the Tiger. For Wranngar it was a lot easier, his level 60 racial mount is also a tiger and I just went and bought one.

Stratholme 8/13/08

I was helping someone in Stratholme on Wranngar today. We went in and got their quest done then me and one of the other people, Apothiss a 70 Rogue decided to try for the Baron's Mount, the Deathcharger's Reins. We ended up doing 2 runs but we didn't have any luck. It ended up costing me over 11 gold in repairs. The first run we did while we were still in there and the second run we went in through the service entrance and that cuts down a lot of time. This is a skeletal mount like the undead priests ride. I was on Wranngar but I would really like to have it for Gomorra, he would look a lot better on it than Wranngar would. The problem with Gomorra is he can't stealth and it would take a lot more time and work to get it on him.

Stratholme 5/29/08

Three of us went into Stratholme tonight to do a few quests for Yonezoe. There was Wranngar, Yonezoe and Casandraa. Yonezoe ended up leveling up to 58 in there so she can now go to the Outlands and quest, that was one good thing that came out of it, about the only good thing. About half way through the instance I decided we should shoot for Deathcharger's Reins, a mount dropped by Baron Rivendare. When we finally got to the Slaughter House the gate was down and I couldn't figure out why. This was only the second time I had tried for the mount and it was only the second time I had gone that far into Strtatholme as the groups usually break up long before we ever get that far. Stratholme is a pretty hard instance and people get discouraged. We wiped twice by the time we got there and I was getting discouraged but I figured after all that we would see if the mount would drop for us. I was pretty upset not to be able to open the gate and get a shot at it. I looked online and couldn't find out why that gate would be down and I couldn't remember what we did before to open it so we ended up hearthing out of there. After we got back to Shattrath I really looked into it online and finally found that we had to clear 3 rooms after killing the mobs outside them to get the gate to open, we only cleared 2 :(. I went back hoping it hadn't rest yet but it had. Basically what I got out of it was a 14 gold repair bill and not even a chance at the mount.

Scholomance 5/29/08

I helped out Beanaste today in Scholomance on Wranngar. We had a couple more friends there too, Totomoyo and Jacedic. Beanaste was after pieces of the Dreadmist set. I had the belt to the set in the bank and I don't even remember when I got it but it had to have been from Scholomance or Stratholme because that is the only 2 places it drops. We had a pretty good time and he ended up getting the gloves to go with the belt.

Fishing Wranngar 5/26/08

I worked on Wranngar's fishing skill today. I leveled him up in the barrens at Lushwater Oasis where I could catch Deviate Fish to send to Gomorra to make Savory Deviate Delight because he has the recipe. Savory Deviate Delight goes for about 15 gold a stack on the auction house, I got 4+ stacks. Wranngar's fishing skill went from 237 to 300 then I went back to Zangarmarsh to learn Master fishing to 375. Afterwards I went to Stratholme to level him up a little more, I got to 312. 300 is still kind of low for Outlands, I lost a lot of fish when I was fishing there at 300. Fishing has to be the most boring thing you can do on WoW besides just standing there.
