Daily Fishing - Blood is Thicker 3/12/10

Today Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, had Blood Is Thicker for Brieanna again.

This had me flying over to Unu'pe, then heading inland until I found a Marsh Caribou to kill so I could get covered in blood. Once I was good and covered in blood I headed back to shore and jumped in. That does two things, it washes the blood off me and creates a blood pool. I need the blood pool to fish for the Bloodtooth Frenzy this quest is looking for. I need 5. It didn't take me very long to catch them, you get them 2 or 3 at a time so it goes pretty quick.

Once I had the 5 I needed I hearthed back to Dalaran and went to see Marcia. I traded the 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy for a Bag of Fishing Treasures which today had 7g43s82c, 2 Elixirs of Water Walking, 3 Solid Gold Coins and 2 Deviate Fish in it. I have had better days of fishing but am still ahead for the week after getting the Jeweled Fishing Pole the other day.

Cheese for Glowergold - Daily Cooking 3/12/10

Today when I went to see Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, she had Cheese for Glowergold for Brieanna.

This had me running around looking for Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses. I got 5 of the 6 I needed before I even left A Hero's Welcome, I got the other one at One More Glass when I went to get the piece of Aged Dalaran Limburger this quest calls for. All in all it went pretty quick today.

Once I had all the Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses and the piece of Aged Dalaran Limburger I combined them on the platter to make a wine and cheese platter. I took that over and delivered it to Ranid Glowergold (36,28) at the Leatherworkers in the Magus Commerce Exchange in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 2 Northern Spices, 3 Baby Spice and another Dalaran Cooking Award in it. Not a bad return on this one today.

The Violet Hold (Dungeon)

Brieanna ran the Violet Hold today. The Violet Hold (previously known as Dungeons of Dalaran) is a prison complex located in Dalaran. It is the third instance to be located within the bounds of a capital city (after the Stormwind Stockade and Orgimmar's Ragefire Chasm).

Brieanna ran through this twice today, once on normal to get familiar with it then again on Heroic. We didn't have any problems on either run. Once the instance starts, there are portals that open, one after the other. Each time one opens it releases invaders of the blue dragonflight. They are trying to destroy the hold's defenses and get out into Dalaran to destroy that.

You really don't have any time between portals but you do get a little time to mana up and get ready after each of the bosses that come out.

Every so often a boss will be released from their "cell". You will fight three bosses, the first two being randomly selected from the following list:
You will always have to fight Cyanigosa as the third boss.

I found this instance to be pretty easy in both normal and heroic modes. Like I said, we had no problems whatsoever. It is a lower level instance, green to me, and the people that were in there were my level to 5 levels below on normal and level 80 in heroic.

Daily Fishing - Blood is Thicker 3/11/10

Today when Brieanna went to see Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, for her daily fishing quest she got Blood Is Thicker. This one requires a little travel time.

This had me taking the flight path from Dalaran to Unu'pe. Once in Unu'pe I fly inland until I find a Marsh Caribou to kill so I get overed in blood. You can kill any of the animals the Druids protect to get covered in blood. Once I was covered in blood I flew back to the shore and jumped in. That washed the blood off me and created a blood pool. I fished in the blood pool until I caught 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy.

I hearthed back to Dalaran and went to see Marcia. When I hearth to Dalaran I end up at Cantrips and Crows Tavern in the Underbelly, so I just had to run up top to see her. I turned the 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy over to her and she gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures for my trouble. Today it had 10g48s80c, 3 Pygmy Oil and an Unusual Compass in it. Not a great day of fishing but that is Ok, because the other day I finally got the Jeweled Fishing Pole and that makes up for a lot of bad day's of fishing.

Cheese for Glowergold - Daily Cooking 3/11/10

Today Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, had Cheese for Glowergold for Brieanna's daily cooking quest. This one uses none of my mats and although I find the Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses hard to target is one of the ones I like better because it uses none of my mats.

This has me running around Dalaran picking up Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses. I got 3 of them today before I even left A Hero's Welcome, I got the other 3 at the Cantrips and Crows Tavern in the Underbelly. When I had all the wine glasses I needed I headed back up to One More Glass to get the piece of Aged Dalaran Limburger this quest calls for. I combined those on the platter to make a wine and cheese platter.

I took the wine and cheese platter over to Ranid Glowergold (36,28) at the Leatherworkers in the Magus Commerce Exchange and exchanged it for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 4 Northern Spices in it. An Ok haul today.

The Pit of Saron (Dungeon)

The Pit of Saron is the second Dungeon in the attunement process for the Halls of Reflection.

Brieanna did some runs through this Dungeon today. I ran it a few times on normal to get familiar with it, then ran through it on heroic. After that I ran through it a couple more times on normal. We had one wipe, due to a healer not being able to keep up. The weird thing about that is it happened on a normal run, not heroic. I would think if we were going to wipe it would have been on the heroic run. Anyway a message box popped up saying we were voting to remove the healer from the group, yes or no. I felt really bad about it but clicked yes and he was removed. We got another healer in and finished without a problem. We were on the last boss when that happened.

This Dungeon, as the name suggests, in in a pit, a quarry. There are 3 main bosses you have to defeat along with a bunch of other mobs. Forgemaster Garfrost is the first boss you have to defeat. You fight some elite trash mobs to get to him. This guy throws a lot of frost spells and Saronite boulders at you and has one frost spell that stacks. You can get rid of the stacking frost spell by running behind a rock that is there and letting the timer on it run out. He runs over at various times and makes new weapons during the fight also. Deadly Boss Mobs for Dungeons is a must have when running instances. It goes are far as telling you he is going to throw the boulder at you, move.

After fighting some more elite trash mobs you come to Krick and Ick. This is a Gnome riding on the back of a Plague Eruptor. This guy has a few tricks up his sleeve including Toxic Waste, Mighty Kick, Pursuit and Pursuit Confusion, when Krick confuses Ick by changing his mind too often, along with a few others. Basically you need to keep moving and running around while fighting this boss.

The last boss you are going to meet up with, after fighting more trash mobs and running up a tunnel that is collapsing, is Scourgelord Tyrannus. When you are running up the tunnel to get to him there are giant chunks of ice falling from the ceiling. You can see where these are going to land from circles that show up on the ground, similar to the circle for an AoE, just avoid those areas. You will also encounter mobs on the way, run with them until you get to a disc in the floor about half way up, you will know it when you see it. That is a "safe zone", nothing will fall on that. That is where you kill the mobs you picked up on the way up to that point. You can heal up there after the fight, then make the run to the end of the tunnel. Kill the rest of the mobs you picked up right at the opening to the tunnel. If you out of the tunnel you will aggro the last boss.

Now you are at the last boss, Scourgelord Tyrannus. He is mounted on his Frostbrood Wyrm, Rimefang. He gives a big speech then dismounts to fight. Rimefang also gets involved in the fight with Icy Blast and a couple other spells. Scourgelord Tyrannus has a few tricks of his own, one of which is Overlords Brand. Basically when you have the brand on you don't do any damage or healing as the damage will all go directly to his target and all healing will heal him. That lasts about 10 seconds or so, not sure on the time, hard to judge time when you are fighting. Once he is down you are done. You will receive any achievements and rewards, emblems and such, at that time. Completing this completed my attunement process for the Halls of Reflection.

All in all this is a pretty fun Dungeon and I will run it a few more times as there is a gun that drops on normal this is slightly better than what I have right now.

Daily Fishing - Jewel of the Sewers 3/10/10

Today Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, had Jewel Of The Sewers for Brieanna. This is a nice easy one and the only one you don't have to leave Dalaran for.

This had me running down to the sewers below Dalaran, to my spot at the Black Market. I always have good luck there and today was no exception. I went to my usual spot, there was no one there, and got the piece of Corroded Jewelry I was after on my 8th cast. I also got the usual junk, some sewer carp, empty vials, the usual medical waste.

I took the piece of Corroded Jewelry and headed up to see Marcia. I traded her the Jewelry for a Bag of Fishing Treasures. Today my Bag of Fishing Treasures had 9g93s86c, 3 Pygmy Oil, 2 Worthless Pieces of Orange Glass and, are you ready for this? The elusive Jeweled Fishing Pole. I couldn't believe it. Brieanna is the only one of my toons that would actually use it too, it is definitely a chick pole. I had just about given up on ever seeing this on any of my toons.

Convention at the Legerdemain - Daily Cooking 3/10/10

Today when Brieanna went to see Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, she got Convention at the Legerdemain for her daily cooking quest. This is a pretty quick one but uses a lot of my mats. I have only been doing the daily cooking on Brieanna lately so it's not too bad.

This had me running over to the bank to grab some Chilled Meat, the recipe calls for 4, to make the 4 Northern Stew I needed. I built a fire and cooked that up in the bank, then was off to One More Glass for a Jug of Wine. I found the wine upstairs today as soon as I got there so that was nice and quick.

Once I had the wine and stew I headed across the road to deliver it to Arille Azuregaze, the bartender at The Legerdemain. He gave me 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag with 6 Northern Spices, 5 Baby Spice and another Dalaran Cooking Award in it. Not a bad haul today.

Forge of Souls 3/10/10

Brieanna did her first WotLK instance tonight. She did The Forge of Souls 5 man. She did it in normal mode 3 times and heroic mode one time. I usually don't do instances at all, but I want to get Brieanna a better main weapon and this is the only way I am going to be able to do it without an 1800 arena rating in 3's or 5's.

The Forge of Souls is the first dungeon in the attunement process for Halls of Reflection, the second one is Pit of Saron which I did later.

I got a group for The Forge of Souls using the dungeon finder system and made out pretty well. The people I was grouped with had obviously done it before, it was a fast moving group. We pretty much tore right through there without any problems. I didn't really notice a difference in challenge between normal and heroic, but the loot was better in heroic. I am in full PvP gear and nothing dropped that was even close to being better than, or even equal to, what I was wearing. The last boss you kill in The Forge of Souls is Devourer of Souls pictured here. He is a pretty strange looking mob and puts up a pretty good fight. I use Deadly Boss Mobs for PvP and activated the dungeon mode before I started. It is very helpful, it tells you when to get out of the way and when to run, it tells you when the boss is getting ready to launch and attack and on who.

The item I am after in Halls of Reflection is the Orca-Hunter's Harpoon. That would be a significant improvement over the weapon I have now.

I had a really good time and am looking at other dungeons to do now. I was put off by dungeons way back on Gomorra. All the groups I would get into would dissolve before we even got close to the end and I figured what's the sense if you have to run a dungeon 10 times just to get through it once. I guess times have changed. I will have more detailed posts in the future with a run through of this dungeon, including boss names, after a couple more runs.

Daily Fishing - Dangerously Delicious 3/9/10

Today when Brieanna went to see Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, for her daily fishing quest she got... Can you guess? Dangerously Delicious again. None of the daily's changed from yesterday.

This had me taking the flight path from Dalaran to Wintergrasp, the combat zone. Once there I started fishing right by where you land. It didn't take me long again today to get the 10 Terrorfish I needed, less than 5 minutes. I didn't see any Horde while I was there again today.

I hearthed back to Dalaran and took the Terrorfish over to Marcia. She gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures in exchange for them. Today it had 10g64s61c, 3 Pygmy Oil, 2 Solid Gold Coins and 3 Deviate Fish in it. Not a great return on this one today.

Mustard Dogs - Daily Cooking 3/9/10

Today when Brieanna went to see what Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, had for her daily cooking quest she got Mustard Dogs! again. Way to have some variety Blizzard...

As it has for the last couple days, this had me running around the grassy areas of Dalaran picking Wild Mustard. As usual I got my first 2 in the courtyard behind A Hero's Welcome, then I got the other 2 around Dalaran. Once I had all the Wild Mustard I needed I headed over to the bank to grab the Rhino Meat I needed to make the Rhino Dogs. I built a fire and cooked those up right in the bank.

I combined the Rhino Dogs with the Wild Mustard in the Empty Picnic Basket which makes a Mustard Dog Basket! and took that over to Archmage Pentarus (68,41) at Krasus' Landing. In exchange for that he gave me 9g93s, 2 Dalaran Cooking Awards and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices in it. Not a bad return on this daily for the third day in a row.

Daily Fishing - Dangerously Delicious 3/8/10

Today Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, had Dangerously Delicious for Brieanna's daily fishing quest. This one has me going to Wintergrasp, the combat zone, to fish.

I took the flight path to the flight point in Wintergrasp and started fishing right there by where you land. There were a few other people there so I didn't expect any trouble and there was none. It took me less than 5 minutes to catch the 10 Terrorfish I needed. At that point the battle for Wintergrasp started so I joined up with that. Come for the fishing, stay for the fighting I always say. We won that one.

I hearthed back to Dalaran and went to see Marcia. I turned the 10 Terrorfish over to her and she gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures for my trouble. Today my Bag of Fishing Treasures had 7g28s46c, 3 Northsea Pearls, 2 Worthless Pieces of Violet Glass, 2 Deviate Fish and a Waterlogged Recipe.

I love getting the Waterlogged Recipe. It starts a really simple quest to take the recipe and give it to Christi Stockton, the wine vendor at One More Glass, the wine and cheese shop in Dalaran. She gives you 13g23s and 5 Dalaran Cooking Awards for it. Not a bad deal at all.

Mustard Dogs - Daily Cooking 3/8/10

Today Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, had Mustard Dogs! for the daily cooking again. Today I did it on Wranngar and Brieanna.

This had me running around the grassy areas of Dalaran picking Wild Mustard. The first place I checked was the courtyard behind A Hero's Welcome, where they both got 2. I got the others around the city on each. Once I had all the Wild Mustard I needed I headed over to the bank for some Rhino Meat to make the Rhino Dogs I needed. I cooked those up right in the bank.

I combined the Rhino Dogs with the Wild Mustard in the Empty Picnic Basket to make a Mustard Dog Basket!. I took that over and delivered it to Archmage Pentarus (68,41) at Krasus' Landing. He's a man who really likes his Mustard Dogs and usually pays pretty well.

Today he gave Wranngar 9g93s, 2 Dalaran Cooking Awards and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices, 3 Old Spices and 3 Baby Spice in it. Not a bad haul for Wrann today.

He gave Brieanna 9g93s, 2 Dalaran Cooking Awards and a Small Spice Bag with 3 Northern Spices, 4 Old Spices and 4 Baby Spice in it. Not a bad haul for Brieanna today either on this one.

I went to go buy another recipe for Brieanna with my awards and found that I already have all the Northrend recipes so I guess she is saving for her Chef's Hat now.
