Northrend Daily's 6/9/09

I only did the daily cooking and fishing on Wranngar and Gomorra again today. I just haven't had the time to do the others lately.

The daily cooking, I picked up from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf and the daily fishing, I got from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was Dangerously Delicious again today.

I headed down into the sewers to do the daily cooking first. I got my 4 Infused Mushrooms on Gom pretty quick but it took a little longer for Wrann to get his. Once I had 4 on each I headed over to the bank for some Chilled Meat which I cooked up with the Infused Mushrooms to make Infused Mushroom Meatloaf. It takes 2 Chilled Meat for each meatloaf and I always keep a couple stacks of all the meat I need for the daily cooking in the bank.

I delivered those to Orton Bennet upstairs at Curiosities and Moore in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag.

Wrann's Small Spice Bag had 4 Northern Spices in it, not a bad haul.

Gom's Small Spice Bag had 6 Northern Spices in it, not a bad haul for Gom either.

I headed over to Wintergrasp after that to do the daily fishing, Dangerously Delicious. For this daily you need to catch 10 Terrorfish in Wintergrasp, the PvP zone.

I took the flight path in to Wintergrasp, so I didn't get dismounted, then started fishing right there at the Sunken Ring. It really didn't take me long on either to get my 10 Terrorfish today. There were no Horde attacks while I was there fishing on either toon. I flew back to Dalaran and turned the 10 Terrorfish over to Marcia Chase and she gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures for my trouble.

Gom's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 8g38s6c, 4 Pygmy Oil and an Unusual Compass while Wrann's had 8g83s17c, 3 Pygmy Oil and 3 Worthless Pieces of Green Glass that I sell to a vendor for 5c each. Neither of them made out too good on the daily fishing today. There are still a lot of great rewards to be had from this daily though, I haven't got the Jeweled Fishing Pole on either, I don't have Eternium Fishing Line on Wrann's Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole, I don't have any of the Dalaran fishing pets on either and much more. As I said, there is still a lot to be had.

AB and EoS 6/8/09

My daily battleground today was Arathi Basin. I did it on Wranngar and it took 6 battles to get a win. It was some of the worst PvP play I have seen in a while.

In 2 of the battles I got in towards the end and they were a 4 cap and 5 cap in Hordes favor. There was no teamwork at all, people were just running around doing their own thing, going off in ones and twos to get ganked by groups of Horde. On the off chance that we actually got a node capping, everyone would leave before it capped so all the Horde had to do was walk in and defend it. In one battle I got into we had to have been at least a minute into it, there were Alliance fighting at the farm, but no one had gotten the Stables or tried for the Lumber Mill, it was crazy.

Finally in the 6th battle I got in with a decent group. We had a 4 cap going for most the battle, had all 5 nodes at one time but not capped, and maintained at least a 3 cap at all times. We won that one by over 1,000. There were a lot of AFK in all the battles I was in, I think that is because season 6 has started and all the AFK slackers are trying to get the new honor gear. Anyway we finally won one and I could stop wasting my time in there. The first battle I was in, we had a 4 cap and ended up losing 1740/2000 on a Horde 5 cap, took 38 minutes.

I fought on 3 Eye of the Storm battles too, 2 wins and one loss. The one we lost was due to no team work and flag tards. Flag tards are people who go for the flag when we don't even have a node to bring it to. When you come off the rock and 3/4 of your team runs right to the flag you know it's all over. There just weren't enough of us left to take nodes and defend them.

The first of the 2 battles we won wasn't really do to good teamwork on the Alliance's part, it was more due to really bad teamwork on the Horde part. DR was undefended almost the entire battle, we lost it to Horde near the end, and everyone was fighting in the middle or on the roads. Fighting on the roads gets you nothing, you need to fight on the nodes if you want to take them.

The third and last battle I was in we won due to good teamwork. We started off getting DR, BET and MT. We kept the pressure on at FRR so all the Horde were occupied there trying to defend that and we were able to run the flag without much interference. The Horde lost FRR a couple times but we were never quite able to cap it. We had at least one person on each node calling incomings and we held onto our 3 throughout the battle.

I might get back on a little later and do some more.

Full Contact Daily Fishing 6/8/09

Today's daily fishing was Dangerously Delicious. I picked it up from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran.

This had me heading over to the flight point in Wintergrasp. That drops you off at the Sunken Ring, which is as good a place as any to fish. This is where most people fish and, as it is a PvP zone, there is safety in numbers.

Gomorra flew in and got his 10 Terrorfish without any problem at all. There were a few people fishing there at the time. When Wranngar flew in he immediately got ganked by 3 horde, 2 DK's and a Pally. I ended up at the GY where there were a few more people. The GY is in a protected area the Horde can't get to, so they were at the bottom waiting for someone to get close enough to the edge for the DK to pull down. We decided to hit them as a group and owned them. They came back several times after that but it just kept getting worse for them as more people were staying behind after they were done fishing to see if they would come back lol. The last time they came back they lasted for less than 10 seconds then they gave up I guess. I waited 5 more minutes then went to turn in my Terrorfish to Macria Chase. She gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures with nothing too exciting in it.

I got 5 kills doing my daily fishing though and had a lot of fun doing it :).

Daily Fishing and Cooking 6/7/09

I only did the daily fishing and cooking today, I didn't have a whole lot of time. Today's fishing quest, from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was The Ghostfish. The daily cooking, from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, was Cheese for Glowergold. I hate Cheese for Glowergold, it has to be the worst daily ever.

I did the cooking first, I ran around Dalaran on Gomorra looking for Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses, collecting them until I had the 6 I needed (I skipped this one on Wranngar). Once I had my 6 glasses I headed over to One More Glass, the wine and cheese shop in Dalaran, to see if I could find some Aged Dalaran Limburger. That went a lot quicker than collecting the half empty wine glasses. I right clicked on the platter I was given at the start of the quest which combined the wine and cheese into a wine and cheese platter. I gave that to Ranid Glowergold (36,28 at the Leatherworkers in the Magus Commerce Exchange in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag.

My Small Spice Bag had 4 Northern Spices in it, hardly worth getting out of bed for. I banked the spices, I have a little over 400 now, and I am saving the awards for a Chef's Hat so I can complete that achievement.

After that I headed over to Rivers Heart in Sholazar Basin to fish for the elusive Ghostfish. I like to fish up top a little northeast of the flight point. I have a root there that I stand on (49,55) and fish. I usually catch my Phantom Ghostfish in 10 casts or less. You do not need to fish from a school and I think you can fish just about anywhere in Sholazar Basin for them but this is where I go every time. When I caught the Phantom Ghostfish I ate it right away, it is on a timer that starts clocking as soon as you loot it, you have 60 seconds before it disappears. I guess that is why not many people have seen them, kind of hard to transport them anywhere lol. When you eat it you go into an 'altered' state. You have to do it to know what I am talking about, but the picture above will give you an idea.

I headed back to Marcia Chase and told her what I found and she gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures.

Gom's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 7g87s2c, a Glow Worm, a New Age Painting signed by Marcia Chase, which I sold to a vendor for 25 gold, and 3 Deviate Fish. Not a bad haul for Gom, not great but the Glow Worm's are nice, they give you +100 to fishing skill for one hour, good for farming cooking mats, and the 25 gold from the painting was nice.

Wrann's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 10g35s20c, 5 Pygmy Oil and 2 Worthless Pieces of Green Glass. Not a great day for Wrann but there are still some great rewards to be had from this daily.

Overstock

Overstock is a daily I try to do every day because it is so fast and easy and it pays 12g96s for a few minutes time. You pick this up from Ricket at K3 in the Storm Peaks.

Once you pick up this quest from Ricket you'll want to head northeast over to Garm's Bane (57,64). You are given Improved Land Mines to use on this quest. You need to kill 12 invaders with the mines to complete the quest. You lay down a mine by right clicking on the mine in your inventory. I have a hot key ` that I have keyed to my toolbar that I use for all my quests that require you to use something repeatedly. I usually lay out my mines in a line from one side to the other and catch them when they run through. Be careful not to lay your mines too far apart, it usually takes 2 to kill one mob so you want to make sure if they hit one they are going to hit at least one other one too. I fill in holes where needed and the whole process usually only takes a couple minutes. There is no contact so there is no equipment damage.

Once you kill 12 you can head back to Ricket for payment. She gives you 12g96s and you are on your way. A lot of people don't like this daily because it doesn't give you rep with anyone but I say it is worth the few minutes it takes for the 13 gold it pays. I always stop and do this one on my way to do my daily's for The Sons of Hodir.

Good Luck :)

-Wranngar

Daily Battleground 6/6/09

My daily battleground today was Strand of the Ancients. I queued up for it in Dalaran on Wranngar. I got in right at the start which is how I like it. We won the first one I was in and it went really quick, we just fought our way to the relic, killing and smashing anything and everything in our way. We weren't up against a very good team and that helped us win it fast lol. When it came time for the Horde's turn they got through 2 gates, we smashed all the gates when we were on offense, and then it was over, they ran out of time. I turned this is when I got out for gold and honor.

I did one Eye of the Storm battle too. We won that one but it was close, we won by less than 200 points. It didn't have to be that way, we had DR, MT and BET then everyone went flagtard and we lost MT. Then we lost DR. We managed to get everyone out of the middle long enough to get FRR but then they were right back in the middle instead of getting the 3rd node. I helped capture BET and stayed there and guarded it throughout the battle. I saw a lot of action there, from FRR and then after we lost it, DR. I kept busy :). I think I am at around 46,000 honor so I should be able to get a new piece of gear soon.

Travelers Tundra Mammoth 6/6/09

I am about half way to Gomorra's Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth. It is going to cost him 16,000 gold exalted with Kirin Tor. That's twice as much as I paid for Wranngar's Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth. The Travelers Tundra Mammoth has an onboard vendor and repair person, that's what makes up the extra 8,000 gold I guess, wages.

I did all my daily's today on both Gom and Wrann. I did all my daily's for The Sons of Hodir, Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter and Feeding Arngrim. The only one I don't do for them is Thrusting Hodir's Spear because it's too hard and not worth it in my opinion. I get about 66 gold a day on each toon for doing these. They take me about a half hour on each.

I did all the daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade, I do Leave Our Mark, Vile Like Fire!, Shoot 'Em Up, From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone and Intelligence Gathering for them. Intelligence Gathering I only hand in once a week or so, it just takes too long to try and get 5 documents every day. It can take you as long to get 5 documents, and the keys you need to open the chests, as it does it do the other 5 quests. It's just not worth it to waste the time on it when I could be doing something else. I open a chest when I find one and if I get a document 'woot', if not I just carry on. Eventually I will get the 5 I need and turn it in. When I turn in all 6 of these I get around 80 gold on each toon.

I did the daily cooking from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, it was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf today. The daily fishing from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was Monsterbelly Appetite and I did that too. I didn't get any rewards from either of those worth mentioning.

I did Overstock on Wrann today too, this is a fast and easy daily I try never to miss. You pick it up in K3 and it only takes a couple minutes to complete. You hand it in and get 12g96s. I will be doing a walkthrough on this quest shortly.

I am going to do some battlegrounds after supper, my daily today is Strand of the Ancients.

Exploring 6/5/09

I did some exploring with Gomorra today. I finished up exploring Northrend, I had a lot of Howling Fjord, one spot in Grizzly Hills, one in Crystal Song Forest and a few each in Zul'Drak, Icecrown and Sholazar Basin. This didn't take me long at all on a swift flying mount.

When you complete the Explore Northrend achievement you get the Tabard of the Explorer. That is what I was after when I set out today and I got it. Wranngar already has the Tabard of the Explorer and he also has the title the Explorer for finishing the World Explorer achievement.

I finished up exploring Outlands after that, I only had one spot in Blades Edge left to explore. I got the Explore Outland achievement for finishing that. I still need to explore Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms before I get the 'the Explorer' title on Gom.

2 1/2 Years Playing WoW

I just realized it has been 2 1/2 years, the beginning of this month, since I started playing World of Warcraft. I started playing December 1st 2006 after seeing the South Park episode 'Make Love, Not Warcraft'. I had been hearing a lot about it from people at work before that and decided to check it out, the rest is history.

My very first character was a Human Warrior named Durgan on Aman'Thul. I got him to level 19 before I saw a Warlock on a Felsteed. Once I saw that I decided I had to have one.

Gomorra was born.

Gomorra is my Human level 80 Demon Lock. He got his Felsteed and now he rides a Dreadsteed. I leveled him to 70 as Destruction then respec'd Demonology just to check it out. I ended up really liking Demonology spec both in PvP and PvE play and stuck with it. I used to do a lot of battlegrounds on Gomorra and he has over 24,800 lifetime kills. I stopped PvPing on Gomorra when I started PvPing on my Druid, Wranngar. I want to start raiding on Gomorra and gear him that way.

I will dual spec Gomorra Destruction/Demonology, now that dual speccing is available, as I like Destruction too, I had a lot of fun with that and did a lot of damage.

Wranngar is my level 80 Night Elf Druid. He is spec'd Feral and I won't dual spec him as he is fine just the way he is. I decided I had to have one of these after watching them fight in the battlegrounds. I really love to PvP and Wranngar does a lot of PvP, he has over 58,000 lifetime kills. He is going for the title 'of the Alliance' that you get when you reach 100,000 lifetime kills. I am still in the process of gearing him for PvP since I had to toss all my epic 70 PvP gear when I reached level 80, it is a long process. I want to start doing Arena on him, something I have only done a couple times on Gomorra.

It has been a pretty good 2 1/2 half years, I hope the next 2 1/2 are as good.

-Wranngar

Northrend Daily's 6/4/09

I did all my daily's today, I had been skipping them for awhile, got kind of burnt out on them. But I am back to doing them now. Wranngar has the Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth and I am saving up my gold to get Gomorra the Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth. The Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth cost me 8,000 gold for Wrann and the Reins of the Travelers Tundra Mammoth are going to run me 16,000 gold for Gom. The difference between the 2 is the Reins of the Travelers Tundra Mammoth has on board vendors and repair guys while the Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth does not. They both carry the driver plus 2 passengers.

I did all my daily's for The Sons of Hodir, Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter and Feeding Arngrim. These only take me about a half hour on each toon and I get about 66 gold on each doing them.

The daily's for Knights of the Ebon Blade also take me about a half hour but pay around 80 gold on each as I do one more for them than I do for The Sons of Hodir. For the knights of the Ebon Blade I do Leave Our Mark, Vile Like Fire!, Shoot 'Em Up, From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone and Intelligence Gathering. Once again these take me about half an hour and pay around 80 gold. I usually get around 10-15 extra gold just from drops doing this daily, I loot everything, and I get 15-20 extra gold a day doing The Sons of Hodir daily's.

Wrann also does Overstock in the Storm Peaks. This is a fast and easy daily that gets you around 13 gold (12g96s) for a few minutes of your time. Some people don't like this one because it doesn't give any rep with anyone but 13 gold for a few minutes works for me. I haven't been able to pick this up on Gom yet, there is a pre-quest I guess I haven't done yet, I will look into it.

Daily Cooking and Fishing 6/4/09

Today the daily cooking from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome, was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf and the daily fishing from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran, was Dangerously Delicious.

I did the cooking first which had me heading down into the sewers below Dalaran to pick Infused Mushrooms. It didn't go too bad today, I got the 4 I needed on each in a few minutes. There were some people doing it but not alot. On a bad day I will just leave and go do something else, a bad day being when everyone is trying to do it at once. On a good day, like today, I am in and out in a few minutes.

I headed over to the bank with my Infused Mushrooms to get some Chilled Meat to cook them up with. Each meatloaf takes 2 Chilled Meat.

Once I had my meatloafs cooked I delivered them to Orton Bennet upstairs at Curiosities and Moore in exchange for 9g93s, a Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag.

Wranngar's Small Spice Bag had 4 Northern Spices and another Dalaran Cooking Award in it. A Pretty good haul for Wrann.

Gomorra's Small Spice Bag only had 3 Northern Spices in it, not a great haul for Gom today.

After that I headed over to Wintergrasp to do the daily fishing. The only place you can catch the 10 Terrorfish you need is to fish in Wintergrasp the PvP zone.

It didn't take me too long to catch the 10 I needed on each. There was no Horde interference today, probably because the battle was actually going on while I was fishing and the Horde were too busy losing. There were only a few other people there fishing at the time, usually there are quite a few there. It is still early though and I write it off to that.

I took my 10 Terrorfish back to Marcia Chase and handed them in in exchange for a Bag of Fishing Treasures.

Wrann's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 10g21s13c, 4 Pygmy Oil, a Tower Key which I sold to a vendor for 16g66s66c and 2 Deviate Fish. Not too bad a haul for Wrann with the tower key and all. It took him 16 casts to catch his 10 Terrorfish.

Gom's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 8g93s70c, 4 Pygmy Oil, an Unusual Compass and 2 Deviate Fish. Not a great haul for Gom on this one either.

Battlegrounds 6/3/09

I did some battlegrounds tonight.

The daily battleground was Strand of the Ancients. We won the first one I was in, it was a killing. We won it in 2 minutes 15 seconds which could be the fastest one I have been in to date. We just ran right through them. We took down all the gates on the way, both sides. I usually only do this one when it is the daily but don't really know why, it is a nice battleground. I queued up for it again but left the queue after 3 minutes and did some Eye of the Storm instead.

In Eye of the Storm we did ok in 2 battles and lost one. Actually we did great in one battle and ok in the other we won.

The first one I was in we came off the rock and a couple people went to MT, a couple people went to DR and the rest of us went to FRR and BET. We took FRR right away as most of the Horde were at BET trying to cap that. They did get it capped but they didn't hold it long. Once we had the 4 cap going on we kept them pinned down on their rock until the end of the battle.

The second battle was pretty bad, you know you're going to lose when you come off the rock and 10 of the 15 people on your team run right to the flag. I call them 'Flagtards'. The flag is to EoS what Galv is to AV, a distraction. You can win with 3 nodes and no flag running, you can win with 4 nodes and no flag running but you can't win with no nodes and running the flag. They were in the middle fighting for a flag that they didn't even have a tower to bring to. Needless to say we lost that one.

The third battle I was in went better than the second but not quite as good as the first. We had a strong start, we got FRR, MT and DR, then everyone went Flagtard. No one was guarding DR and we lost it, there were only 2 of us at FRR and we almost lost it, it seemed everyone was either at the flag or MT. We never did get DR back but because we did have a 3 cap going for quite awhile before losing DR and the determination of the Flagtards we did win that one by about 500 points give or take a little.

I might get back on a little later and do some more battlegrounds.

Northrend Daily's 6/3/09

I did all my Northrend Daily's on both Wranngar and Gomorra tonight.

I did my daily's for The Sons of Hodir first. Wrann stopped off on his way there to pick up and do Overstock. Overstock is a really simple daily that only takes a couple minutes, causes no equipment damage and pays 12g96s. I try to do it every day.

I did the 5 daily's I usually do for them, Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter and Feeding Arngrim. These really don't take me very long, about a half hour on each toon, and they pay pretty well, 13g23s each.

After that I did my daily's for the Knights of the Ebon Blade. The one's I do for them are Leave Our Mark, Vile Like Fire!, Shoot 'Em Up, From Their Corpses, Rise!, No Fly Zone and Intelligence Gathering. More fast and easy quests, these also take me about a half hour.
