Battlegrounds 10/27/08
I only did 4 battlegrounds on Wranngar tonight. I did 3 Arathi Basin which was my daily and one Alterac Valley. The first 2 AB's I was in were losses but I got into them towards the end so they went quick. In the third one we got a 4 cap going and kept it throughout the entire battle. I capped the Gold Mine and then stayed to defend it. It was one of the places that got hit a few times. At one point I had 2 at once, a shadow priest and a warrior. I killed the squishy first then killed the warrior. I called incoming but nobody came. I was pretty buffed up and my attack power was over 4600 in cat form so I was killing left and right. I had no deaths and finished 4th on the list for killing blows even though I was defense not offense. In the AV I was in I got in right at the start. It went pretty smooth, I helped defend IBT, a small group took out Galv, and we got IBGY and TP. We moved on to FWGY while those were capping and then got FWRH started. We had SFGY and at that point someone took SHGY..... It didn't matter though because we had the East and West Frostwolf Towers capping and the Horde were rezzing in their cave because they didn't have a GY capped. We capped E & W Towers then took down Drek for the win. One of the better AV's I have been in lately. Still looking for a good battlegroup to get Wranngar into.

Battlegrounds 10/26/08
I fought in 5 battlegrounds on Wranngar tonight, 3 wins and 2 losses. The first one I did was Warsong Gulch which was my daily. We won the first one I was in. We had 2 pretty well matched groups in there, it was a 45 minute WSG which is pretty long for WSG. Neither side seemed to be able to make any headway. The Horde captured the first flag, then we took over. We ended up winning that one 3/1. After that I did an AV. I don't know why I waste my time in there. We were doing great, had IBT, IBGY, TP and FWGY capping then some idiot decided to cap SHGY. After that is was just a long hard loss. All the Horde started rezzing at FWRH, their only GY, and came through and took FWGY, then TP, IBGY and IBT. I don't know why people keep capping SHGY but it costs us the battle almost every time they do it..... I was so disgusted after that I decided to do some Eye of the Storm. The first battle I was in we had a really good group and held 3 towers throughout while running the flag. We won that one by over 1,000 points. The second group I was in was ok, not great though, and we held 2 towers throughout and ran the flag a lot, we won that one. The last group I was in was pretty poor. They were all over the place, way too many going for the flag which the couldn't seem to get anyway, and not trying for a third node. We ended up losing one of the nodes we had so we finished up with one node about 1,400 points behind the Horde. I can't wait until the expansion comes out to fight in the new PvP areas they have. I also want to get Wranngar out of this battlegroup and into another one.

Battlegrounds 10/25/08
I only had time to do a few battlegrounds tonight. The daily was Warsong Gulch which we won on the second battle I was in. I also did 2 AV's, one win and one loss. I did them on Wranngar. I got in the first WSG after the start. The score was 0/2. It was a pretty poorly coordinated group and we never did capture a flag before the Horde won it 0/3. In the second battle we did a lot better although I saw some people from the first group in there. They must have been the better ones from that group. We won the second one 3/0 and I captured the last flag for the win. In AV the first battle I was in we barely won by taking down Drek, it was close. The reason it was close after we had such a good start was someone took SHGY and held it. Same stupid mistake that is made all too often. In the second battle the same stupid mistake (SHGY) was made and this time it cost us the battle, we got Galv and 2 towers, that was it. We were moving along pretty well until someone took SHGY then ALL the Horde rezzed at FWGY and came back and took everything we were capping. After that is was just a long hard loss. I am really looking to get Wranngar out of this battlegroup and into a better one.

Battlegrounds 10/22/08
Today's daily battleground was Eye of the Storm. I did it on Wranngar. We won the first one I was in by over 1000 points, we had and held 3 nodes throughout. The Horde seemed more concerned with running the flag than getting more nodes but that only works if you have 2 nodes. Usually it is the Alliance that makes that mistake. I got that done and collected my 11g99s and 419 extra honor for the daily. I spent 55,000 honor the other day so I need to restock that again. After that I went into AV and ended up with a really poor group. We were way ahead but people decided to take and hold SHGY and that cost us the battle. It is really quite sad that the same people make the same stupid mistakes over and over again. The fact they are unable to learn from their mistakes doesn't say much for them. Those were the only 2 battlegrounds I was in tonight, I was really tired and not in the mood to lose any more AV's which is what would have happened with the quality of players that were on.

Daily's 10/21/08
I did all my Shattered Sun daily's on Wranngar tonight. It took me about an hour and I made a little over 100 gold. Wranngar now has quite a bit of gold on him as I have not sent any to the bank in awhile. I was able to get Dexterity put on my boots tonight, I have been trying to find someone to do that for over 2 weeks.

Battlegrounds 10/21/08
I have tried to do 2 battlegrounds on Wranngar tonight, AB which is the daily and EoS. In both of them I was able to get in then nothing happens. You just sit there and wait. I had to exit out of both of them which resulted in me getting the deserter debuff. I am not happy about that at all as I never leave a battleground before it has ended. This is just another epic failure on Blizzards part. I will do my Shattered Sun dailys and see if I can do my daily battleground after that. I have a ticket in for all the good that will do....
Update: I finally was able to do my daily battleground about 3 hours later. As I said it was Arathi Basin. We won the second one I was in but it was close, too close. We had 3 nodes and all we had to do was defend them but the Alliance can't do that, they have to leave 1, or none, at a node and go in ones or twos and try to get another. Needless to say nodes changed hands quite a few times. I am looking into changing servers on Wranngar to get into a better battlegroup, I think any other one is better than Bloodlust.

Battlegrounds 10/20/08
I only did a few AV's on Wranngar tonight. We had one win and 2 losses. The Alliance is still doing pretty poorly in AV even though they made it a lot easier to win with the latest patch. The major reason behind that is people defending SHGY. I don't know what it is about that graveyard but you get the same people battle after battle defending and holding it even though they see it causes us a loss almost every time. The only time we win when they are holding SHGY is on reinforcements and that is a 45 minute to hour battle, clearly not worth the little bit of honor you get winning on reinforcements. Hopefully some day those people will smarten up. Another problem is people trying to gear up for the expansion coming out in November. I am seeing more and more people in AV asking questions that plainly say they have no idea what they are doing in there.

Daily's 10/18/08 - 10/19/08
I have done my Shattered Sun daily's the last couple of days, you get achievements for completing certain numbers of them and for repeating them so I am working on that. I made a few hundred gold in the last couple days doing them which helped cover the cost of all the respecing I did on Wranngar.

Battlegrounds 10/14/08 - 10/19/08
I haven't been doing too many battlegrounds lately, I haven't really had a whole lot of time to play or update this blog. In the last 5 days I fought in 35 battlegrounds. I can remember a time when I would do that many in a weekend. I should have more time soon though. I did them all on Wranngar. The Alliance hasn't been doing too hot in the battlegrounds lately so there really isn't much to say. There is still a lot of AFK going on and a lot of stupidity in AV surrounding SHGY. I don't know what it is with that graveyard but it has cost us more battles. Since the new changes it is easier to take down Drek and Vann though, it can be done pretty easily with 2 towers up so they must have nerfed that too. The game is a lot easier to play now than when I first started, I guess Blizzard is worried people might find it too hard to level so they made it easier. Any I will try to start updating this blog on a daily basis again going forward. Something they added as part of the new expansion are Achievements. I am not too sure what the points you get will be used for but one of them is a title for the battlegrounds. For 100,000 lifetime kills you get "of the Alliance" added after your name. Needless to say I am going for that one. I currently have 54,000+ lifetime kills.

Headless Horseman 10/18/08
Hallows End is upon us. One of the activities of this is the Headless Horseman. He is located in the Graveyard inside Scarlet Monastary. There is a quest I had to do in Goldshire on Wranngar so I could get the quest to go get the head of the Headless Horseman. Once I had that quest done I just hung around in Stormwind, which is a different place now that they applied the patch for Wrath of the Litch King, and watched trade chat until I saw someone looking for a dps for the Headless Horseman. When I had a group I headed up to Scarlet Monastary. No one in the group I was in had done the quest that day and the first time you do it you can do it twice. There were 2 of us that hadn't done it yet so we did it a total of 7 times. He has a chance to drop his mount which is very similiar to the war horse you can get in Kazharan but it didn't drop for our group. All in all it was pretty easy and we had no deaths. When Blizzard put in the new patch they added some new talents to the talent tree which caused them to refund everyones talent points. I was still trying to get my spec right so I was not 100% but that was ok, I spec for the battlegrounds anyway. There are a lot of new additions to the game already present for the next expansion, Wrath of the Litch King one of which is Stormwind Harbor. Now when you take the boat from Darnassus it doesn't take you to Wetlands, it takes you to Stormwind. They also added inscriptions and glyphs but I have not looked into them yet.

Battlegrounds 10/13/08
Not a good night for the Alliance in AV tonight. AV was the daily today and I did it on Wranngar. It took 4 battles to get a win so I could complete the daily and it was the last win I saw. I fought in 14 battles, 1 win and 13 losses. I am not sure what was going on tonight, if I was just getting bad groups or what but it was some of the saddest playing I have ever seen. I am not going to go into detail except to say that someone asked if you get your honor as soon as you earn it now. The answer to that is yes, it has been like that for 6 months or more so that tells you how much battleground experience they have. Maybe they waited until 70 to do battlegrounds. I only had 257 lifetime kills on Wranngar when I hit level 70 but I had a lot of experience from playing Gomorra in the battlegrounds. And yes, when I started on Gomorra I was just as green as they are lol. I guess it is too easy to be critical. Anyway the groups and players were really bad so I just tried to come out on the top of the damage/kill list. I am always in the top 10 and usually in the top 5 in AV.

Battlegrounds 10/12/08
Not too bad a night for the Alliance in EoS tonight. I fought in 15 battles on Wranngar, 11 wins and 4 losses. It was back the way it should be with us winning all the time in there :). The 4 losses were just 4 really bad groups I got into. We were lucky to hold one tower in those 4 battles and a few times we ended up on the rock. In the 11 wins we were dominating. I think there were only one or 2 where it was even close and by close I mean 400 points or so. We had four or five 4 caps in those battles. We had the Horde trapped on their rock and held them there. It was also the daily battleground today but it actually took me 3 battles to get it done, we lost the first 2 I was in. I also did 2 AV's, 1 win, 1 loss. We got the win on reinforcements and it wasn't really a good Alliance group, it was just a bad Horde group. Someone took SHGY in both battles if that tells you anything.
Instances 10/11/08
I helped a guildy, Arkantose, out tonight on Wranngar to get his level 60 Epic Paladin mount. To do that we had to go into Stratholme to get some holy water, from there, after he turned in and got the next quest, we went into Dire Maul West and killed the big tree in there. From there we had to go into Scholomance for the last part of the quest chain. In Scholo we had to summon and defeat a Deathknight to complete the chain at which time he received his mount. It took about half the night but was a lot of fun. Any of the old 60 instances are a lot of fun when you are 70 :). He was lucky, he got his right at 60, Gomorra didn't do his Dreadsteed (Warlock Epic Mount) quest until he was level 70, I just got the Reins of the Black War Tiger from the battlegrounds for him at level 62. I only did the Dreadsteed quest to have it because, as a Warlock, I should. I don't ride it much, I prefer the Tiger. For Wranngar it was a lot easier, his level 60 racial mount is also a tiger and I just went and bought one.

Battlegrounds 10/11/08
I only fought in a few battlegrounds on Wranngar tonight. The daily was Arathi Basin and we won the first one I was in. It was pretty close until around 1,000 points then we took 3 and held them for the win. The Horde was really poorly geared and we should have been able to do a 5 cap but our team wasn't all that good. Three of us held off an attack of 6 horde at the Gold Mine, 2 of them were healers, to give you an idea how poorly they were geared. After that I went into EoS for 3 more battles, 2 wins and 1 loss. The first 2 groups I was in we had a 3 cap and a 4 cap. The 3rd battle I was in we didn't have anywhere near as good a group and ended up losing by around 200. I got my daily done though and got my 11g99s for that. We did have a few AFK in the EoS battles I was in, I guess Blizzard still isn't up to the challenge of taking care of that problem. As a matter of fact Blizzard taking care of the AFK problem has been an epic failure.

Battlegrounds 10/9/08
I did the daily battleground on Wranngar today, that was the only one I fought in. It was AB and it took me 2 battles to get it done. In the first battle people were just everywhere, there was no teamwork and people were attacking objectives in ones and twos while leaving other objectives we held virtually unguarded. In the second battle I was in I got into a Blackrock pre-made, the only ones not from Balckrock were me and another guy. The Blackrock group was good and we had a 5 cap going pretty quick. From there it was just a simple matter of holding them for the win. I helped capture and then defended the Gold Mine.

Battlegrounds 10/6 - 10/08
I fought in 24 battles on Wranngar in the last 3 days. During that time I had AB for my daily once and AV for my daily twice. There is really not a whole lot to say, we are still doing bad in all battlegrounds especially EoS. I was in EoS yesterday and lost all 3 battles I was in, only 1 of them was even close. My daily today was AV and we won the first one I was in. As a matter of fact we are doing better in AV than we are in EoS if you can believe that. It took me 4 battles to get my AB daily done on the 6th. It took me 5 battles to get my daily in AV done yesterday too. Hopefully things will get better for us in the battlegrounds. I joined a pre-made EoS the other day but that worked out like most pre-mades do, we waited around for about 45 minutes then people started dropping out and we never did get to do a battle, that is why I usually don't join.

Battlegrounds 10/5/08
Not a great day for the Alliance in the battlegrounds again today. I did get yesterdays daily done along with today's daily though. I fought in 20 total battles on Wranngar. Yesterday's daily was WSG, I tried one and it was so bad I dropped the quest. I picked it up again this morning before daily's rolled over and got it done on my first, and only, WSG battle. When the daily's rolled over I got today's which was AB. It took me 3 battles to get that one done but I got it done. After that I did a bunch of Eye of the Storm battles with a few AV's mixed in. We had 7 wins and 6 losses out of the 13 battles I fought in EoS. Once again it was going well then you could see when the quality of the players change. We went from 3 and 4 caps with running the flag to barely able to hang onto one tower while half the team, or more, was in the middle trying for flag. The flag means nothing when you only have one tower. Instead of hanging around in the middle trying to get the flag the time would be much better spent getting another tower. I think out of the last 8 battles I was in 6 of them were losses. The Alliance is still doing bad in AV with people taking SHGY and causing the battle plus all the AFK. There was also a lot of inexperience in there. People were calling out to kill Drek while we still had 3 towers up. The groups I was in didn't stand a chance of taking Drek down with 2 towers up let alone 3. We had one battle where we rushed Frostwolf and no one bothered with TP or IBT. By the time we got them it was too late. We had 1 win and 2 losses in AV.

Battlegrounds 10/4/08
The Alliance was having another bad day in the battlegrounds today. The only one we were really winning in today was EoS. I fought in 10 EoS on Wranngar for 7 wins and 3 losses. We had some good groups, some bad groups and some close battles. There was a lot of AFK again in this battleground which is unusual, I am not sure what is up with that. Warsong Gulch was the daily, I tried one of those, keeping in mind it is their holiday weekend, and then dropped it. People seemed to be there to farm kills which is stupid, you don't farm kills in WSG, you farm kills in AV. But the fact remains people were fighting right outside our base and not making it any farther. I tried to run the flag twice but had no flag support either time so I just gave up. I was in 2 battles in AB, one win and one loss. Both of those battles were really close and we either won or lost with less that 100 points difference between us. I also fought in 3 AV's, all losses. In 2 of the battles we took and held SHGY which is pretty much a guaranteed loss. In the third battle we were actually on Drek but the Horde got Vann first.

Battlegrounds 10/3/08
Another bad day for the Alliance in the battlegrounds. I fought in 14 battles on Wranngar, 7 wins and 7 losses. We were doing bad in all the battlegrounds except AB. I was in 2 battles in AB and we won both of them, one was a 5 cap. AB was the daily so I was able to get that done. I was in 8 battles in EoS, 4 wins and 4 losses. I am not sure what the Alliances' problem is lately but we usually dominate EoS. There has also been a lot of AFK in EoS which you don't usually see. I fought in 4 AV's, 1 win and 3 losses. That was just a lot of the stupidity I have come to expect from the Alliance in AV. We would have won 2 more of the AV battles but someone had to go and take SHGY causing all the Horde to rez right where we were trying to cap towers/objectives and they just overran us. That also happened in the battle we won but we were able to hang on and win by reinforcements. Even then it was close. Of course AV was plagued with AFK, up to 10 per battle, I guess Blizzard is just not up to the challenge of correcting the AFK problem as they have failed so far.

Battlegrounds 10/2/08
The Alliance was having a pretty bad night in the battlegrounds tonight. I fought in a total of 7 battles tonight on Wranngar, 5 in EoS which was the daily, 2 wins and 3 losses and 2 AV's, 1 win, 1 loss. I don't know why the Alliance is having such a hard time in EoS lately, we used to do really well in there. In our 3 losses we were lucky to hold 1 tower and actually rezz'd on the rock one time because we even lost that. It was sad. In the 2 we won we had a 3 cap the whole time and were running the flag. The Horde never got over 800 in those 2. There were just really bad groups of people who either didn't know how to play EoS or didn't want to play. There were quite a few AFK too, I wonder if it is EoS weekend, that would explain a lot. In AV we had one good group and one bad group. In the one we won we had plenty of time left to get Galv and TP for the extra honor, which I pointed out, but everyone was in a hurry and downed Drek with Galv still alive and TP still up so they lost honor and bonus honor. I don't care anymore, I am just in it for the kills. The loss was a bad group and turned into a turtle for the most part, everyone was hanging around in DB, most of them AFK. The Horde killed Vann in that one. I got the daily done today on the first battle, it was EoS. I got the 11g99s this daily pays and that was about it lol.

Battlegrounds 9/30 &10/1
I only did a few battlegrounds on Wranngar yesterday. I ended up doing 3 AV's, 2 wins and one loss. The Alliance were doing pretty good and even the loss was close. Unfortunately no such luck tonight. I fought in 7 AV's, 2 wins and 5 losses. The ones we won we had a good group of people who knew what they were doing. The ones that we lost were pretty bad, we had bad groups and a lot of AFK in all of them except one which was close. In the first win we rushed Galv, which I usually don't approve of, then went as a group and got a good grip on IBT. From there we took IBGY then moved on to TP. IBGY used to be a really important GY and still is in my opinion. A lot of groups want to bypass it and go right to FWGY and that works too so it is a hard call. I always like to see a group that goes for IBGY after IBT starts capping. Of course this is based on having a good group. If you have a bad group, and it is usually obvious in the first few minutes, then your best bet is to try and get Galv for his 63 honor. It is better than no honor. But I digress, we got IBGY and TP then moved up to FWGY while they were capping. We had a bit of a fight at FWGY, the Horde were defending it pretty well but we got it capping and moved into the Keep. We got the relief hut and towers without much trouble, the horde couldn't get into DB because they had too many on defense and I think they were giving up at that point. Once everything capped we took Drek down for the win. In the second battle we won, we rushed FWGY and got that started then moved into Frostwolf Keep and cleaned that out. That took a little while as there were a lot of Horde on defense. Eventually we had both towers and FWRH capping as well as all the Horde cleaned out and things were looking good. Others had come behind and got IBT and TP capping then took Galv. Once the East and West towers capped we moved in and took out Drek for the win. As far as the losses go they were pretty much turtles, people died in the first rush and didn't leave DB again. I also fought in 5 Eye of the Storm battles tonight. We had 3 wins and 2 losses so it would seem we were doing a little better in there but we weren't, we usually own EoS. We did have one battle where the 2 teams were pretty evenly matched. That one went on for 35 minutes which is a really long battle for EoS. We both crept from 1 to around 1800 points before we took and held the flag, ran it up to 1910 then capped for the win. It was a long intense battle, constant action. In one other one we had a 4 cap going for almost a minute. That battle was a win and not even close, they just happened to lose the one tower they were holding for a minute.
