Strand of the Ancients 6/30/09

My daily battleground was Strand of the Ancients today. I did it on Wranngar.

We easily won the first battle I was in, we pwn'd the Horde. We got to the relic in 2 minutes 40 seconds which means the Horde had 2 minutes 40 seconds to get to it. They managed to just break their second gate when the time was up. The Alliance seemed to be in fine shape today, at least in that battleground.

I turned this in when I got out and got my 13g23s and 1241 bonus honor. I forgot to check and see how much honor I have now, but as I just got something with my honor I doubt I have much. This is one of the better daily's. Yesterday's daily battleground was Warsong Gulch and I skipped it, I hate WSG.

The Deadmines 6/29/09

I ran someone through the The Deadmines 4 times today, trying to get Cruel Barb to drop, it didn't. I have been through The Deadmines over 100 times and I have only seen it drop 4 or 5 times, it is a pretty rare drop. I have also run people through who have gotten it on their first run, it is all a matter of luck.

The Deadmines is located in Westfall and I think you get the quests to go in there around level 15. The main quest is to kill Edwin VanCleef, the Defia's Kingpin, and bring back the Head of VanCleef.

You enter The Deadmines in Moonbrook. There are mobs to deal with as soon as you enter the instance, the first boss is Rhahk'Zor the foreman. He always drops a blue item, Rhahk'Zor's Hammer. When you kill him the door behind him opens automatically, beware when anything opens automatically, it means a patrol is going to come up behind you.

After going through that door you deal with some more mobs, and off to the left there is a little tunnel, go in there are see if Miner Johnson is there. He is a rare elite. You can tell a rare elite because they have a silver dragon around their portrait instead of a gold one. He can drop Miner's Cape and Gold-plated Buckler which are blue items. He is not always there, hence 'rare elite'.

From there you kill some more mobs until you get to a door you open, once again there will be a patrol that comes up behind you. That door lets you into the Mast Room. In the Mast Room you have to deal with a bunch of elite goblins that can stun even a level 80. The boss in there is Sneed's Shredder, a robot operated by Sneed. Sneed's Shredder will drop these 2 blue items, Buzzer Blade or Buzz Saw. Sneed will drop Gold-flecked Gloves or Taskmaster Axe also blue items. All of these bosses drop other items but these are the ones people are after. A door will open and a patrol will come up behind you.

From there you kill some more mobs as you work your way to the Goblin Foundry. This is packed full of goblins and it is where most people usually end up giving up. The boss in there is Gilnid, he's the smelter. He will drop Smelting Pants or Lavishly Jeweled Ring, both blue items. On our 4 runs he dropped Smelting Pants 3 times and Lavishly Jeweled Ring once. Killing him causes another door to open and another patrol to come up behind you. You are almost there.

You continue through that door and have to fight more mobs, most of which are not elite. On the left, as you are going along, you will see a tunnel, you need to go in there and grab the Defias Gunpowder which you will use a little farther on to shoot a cannon at a door to blow it open. An elite always comes when you pick up the Defias Gunpowder so be ready for that. Continue down that tunnel until you come to the cannon. Right click on the cannon to fire it. It will blow the door open and some mobs will come running in. Once you kill them you can enter Ironclad Cove. This is where the boat and Edwin VanCleef are located.

You will need to fight your way through some more mobs to get to the ramp that leads up to the boat. You need to watch out here. First there is a treasure chest at the bottom of the ramp that is fake, it is there to draw you over so the 2 stealthed Defias Henchmen at the bottom of the ramp can attack you. As soon as they attack you the next boss, Mr. Smite the ships mate, comes down the ramp and joins in. He gets aggravated pretty easy and stomps which stuns everyone. Depending on how fast you can kill him he may do this once, twice or 3 times. Unless you can one shot him. If you are the correct level to be in there you won't be able to one shot him but most 80's can if you have one running you. He will drop either Thief's Blade, Smite's Reaver or Smite's Mighty Hammer which are blues. He also drops other items that are green or white.

Go to the top of the ramp and go right, you will have to fight mobs the whole way, mobs and their parrots. There is a good chance that a parrot cage will drop while you are in the Deadmines which gives you a parrot for a pet. You will go under a bridge. If you have any low level people with you, keep them away from that bridge. Tell them to stay back. They won't listen and will come up to the bridge causing all the mobs above to come down and kill them, happens every time. You will need to work your way up a series of ramps on the side of the boat until you are on the deck. There you encounter another boss, Captain Greenskin. He does a circuit around the cabin with 2 other mobs. He will drop either Emberstone Staff, Blackened Defias Belt or Impaling Harpoon which are blue items. He will also drop some green and white items.

Now you are ready for VanCleef. He is in the cabin in the center of the deck. He has a bunch of mobs with him that are stealthed so be ready for that. I usually draw him out of the cabin and then use an AoE to take him and his mobs down. He will drop one of the following, Corsair's Overshirt, Cape of the Brotherhood, Blackened Defias Armor or Cruel Barb. Everyone goes for Cruel Barb and it rarely ever drops. There is one more boss to deal with now.

You need to jump off the deck on the opposite side that you can into it on, that will bring you down to the lower deck and probably drop you right on top of Cookie, the ships cook. This is the last boss. Cookie will drop Cookie's Tenderizer or Cookie's Stirring Rod, both blue items, along with some white items. That is it, you are done. You can clean up the reast of the mobs on the lower deck if you want, or just go down the ramp towards the exit. There are some more mobs off to the right on your way out if you want to kill and loot them.

That's pretty much The Deadmines in a nutshell.

Good Luck :)

Strand Crawler 6/28/09

I got a Strand Crawler in my Bag of Fishing Treasures on Wranngar today. It has been quite awhile since I got anything really worthwhile from this daily. I was hoping for some High Test Eternium Fishing Line but this is even better.

Ironically Gomorra got another High Test Eternium Fishing Line in his Bag of Fishing Treasures today, you can see how that ball bounces. He already has it on his Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole giving him a total of 485 fishing skill without any lures or anything.

The daily fishing in Dalaran today was The Ghostfish which I picked up from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran. These 2 items where the only items worth mentioning from my rewards today.

Stratholme - Baron Rivendare's Steed - 6/27/09

I ran Thayah through Stratholme on Wranngar a couple times tonight, he wanted the Deathcharger's Reins from Baron Rivendare. We went in the service entrance, we both had the key. You need the key to go in the service entrance and it really cuts a lot of time off. Only one person needs to have the key.

We went and killed the mobs we needed to kill to take down the crystals which lifts the gate enabling you to go into Slaughter Square where Baron Rivendare is located. Once you are in there you have to kill all the mobs outside, then kill all the skeletons that come in, then kill his personal guard that comes out, then you can go in and kill him. You must make sure everyone is in the room before you attack him as the door closes as soon as he is attacked. It doesn't open again until he is dead. I am not sure if you get credit, making you able to loot, if you are outside the door when he dies. It didn't drop the first time so we reset the instance and tried again, no better luck the second time. The Deathchargers Reins has a very, very low drop rate. I have gone after it numerous times and have never seen it drop. I know it does because I see people riding it, but I think it is just luck.

Thayah got a lot of nice blue drops, most of which he couldn't use but could sell to a vendor for a little gold. My repair bill was over 11 gold for those 2 runs. We didn't have any deaths.

Daily Battleground - Eye of the Storm 6/27/09

My daily battleground today was Eye of the Storm, it took me 3 battles on Wranngar before I got a win.

The first battle everyone was more interested in the flag than towers, so we held one tower and ran the flag.... As usual that resulted in a loss, but a few people got achievements for running the flag, good for them....

In the second battle we didn't have as many flagtards but we still had too many. We had one tower the whole time, 2 towers on and off and a lot of flag running. Needless to say we lost that one too. The sad part is it will never end. They should make the flag achievements so you have to be holding 3 towers when you complete them in order to get the achievement, I think that would wake people up. Or at least 2 towers. I have seen the majority of our team at the flag when we didn't even have a tower.

In the third battle we had a much better group. We got 3 towers right off the bat then fought for BET the whole time, keeping the Horde occupied so we could run the flag. We only had one person at DR, one at FRR and there was no one at MT. Not the best strategy but it worked. We won that one by over 1,000 points.

Porcelain Bell 6/27/09

I got a Porcelain Bell in my Bag of Fishing Treasures today from the daily fishing quest. This is a pretty good reward because it sells to a vendor for 100 gold. I have gotten a few of these so far. The daily fishing today was Monsterbelly Appetite and the daily cooking was Mustard Dogs!. The Porcelian Bell was the only reward I got from either of them worth mentioning.

I did find a new place to look for Wild Mustard though, if you're Alliance. When you are in the Hero's Welcome you go to the right side of the bar to go into the kitchen, if you go to the left side of the bar you can go down a hallway and into a courtyard outside. I didn't even know it was there and I don't think too many other people know about it either. I got 2 Wild Mustard on each of my toons from there today, I didn't see anyone else out there. The hallway to the left of the bar is the only way to get there.

The Ghostfish Mystery 6/26/09

I didn't have a lot of time tonight so I only did my daily fishing which was The Ghostfish. I got this quest from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran.

I had to fly to Rivers Heart in Sholazar Basin to catch my Phantom Ghostfish, I took the flight path out of Dalaran. When I got to Rivers Heart I flew up to the top, a little northeast of where you land. This is where I always fish for them and I always have pretty good luck. I see a lot of people fishing in the water right by where you land so they must be having some luck there to. I fish right by a little bridge at the top.

I got my Phantom Ghostfish on the 6th cast on Gomorra and the 15th cast on Wranngar. It usually takes me 10 or less casts to get one but today was an exception. Once you loot the Phantom Ghostfish, which looks just like a Pygmy Suckerfish so be careful you don't miss it, you have 60 seconds to eat it before it disappears. It starts clocking as soon as you loot it. When you eat it, it puts you into a state called Invisibility which is a little surreal. After I had caught and ate my Ghostfish I went back to Marcia and told her what I discovered. She gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures for my trouble.

Gom's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 7g3s8c, a Glow Worm and a Worthless Piece of Red Glass. Not a great haul for Gom, but the Glow Worm is useful.

Wrann's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 9g26s23c, a Glow Worm, an Unusual Compass, 3 Deviate Fish and a Runic Mana Potion in it. Wrann got more stuff but not really anything of great value.

There are a lot of great rewards I haven't gotten from this daily yet so I will keep plugging away at it.

I tried to do the daily battleground but it was taking too long to queue so I gave up. I will probably get back on later and try again.

Dinner Impossible

I completed the achievement Dinner Impossible on Gomorra today, Wranngar completed it quite awhile ago.

To complete this daily you have to serve a Great Feast in Alterac Valley, Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, Strand of the Ancients and Eye of the Storm. I only have a couple items left to get Gom his Chef's title, one of which is to cook all the Outlands foods again.

Least Favorite Daily 6/25/09

Today's cooking daily in Dalaran was Cheese for Glowergold, my least favorite daily. I hate running around Dalaran trying to find the Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses. I did it on both though and got it done.

The daily fishing today was The Ghostfish, a pretty easy daily if not a little time consuming due to the travel. I got this one done on both also.

The daily battleground was Warsong Gulch so I skipped it on Wranngar but decided to do it on Gomorra so I could serve a Great Feast and get that BG out of the way towards the Dinner Impossible achievement. As usual we lost, everyone was fighting in the middle with no interest in getting the Horde flag or getting our flag back from the Horde. We lost that one 0/3. I hate Warsong Gulch. I'm assuming most the Alliance do too because they have no clue how to fight in there.

Gomorra - Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth

I got Gomorra the Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth today. I was going to wait and get the Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth for him but the more I thought about it the more I didn't think the 2 on board vendors were worth another 8,000 gold. I may still get the Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth some day but right now I have other things to spend my gold on. Now I have the Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth on both Wranngar and Gomorra so I can carry up to 2 passengers on either. That comes in pretty handy, especially when you are helping someone who is too low level to have a mount, I am sick of running places lol. It is also pretty handy when you are getting ready to go somewhere and someone says 'brb' like someone always does. They can just hop on and go AFK while I take them where we need to go. It has a picture, that comes up on my screen when I mount it, that shows me how many I have on board and where they are sitting. It comes in handy when someone gets off or gets dismounted along the way.

Alterac Valley Strategy Macro

Here is a battle plan someone was posting in AV using a Macro. I copied the text and created a Macro from it for my own use because it was working so well. Of course it only works if everyone follows it. Unfortunately the Alliance have a real problem following even the simplest plans for some reason, at least in my battle group they do, but if most people do, it will work. The way I have it, due to size, it is a 2 part Macro but the second part is optional.

This is the first (Main) Macro, I named this one AV-1:

/bg 1. GRP 1-3 GO TO RH, NO STOPPING FOR ANYTHING!
/bg 2. GRP 4 CAP FrostWolf GraveYard and Defend!
/bg 3. GRP 5-6 Cap Tower Point
/bg 4. GRP 7-8 Cap IceBlood Tower and kill Galv if possible for extra honor!

Here is the second (Optional) Macro, I named this one AV-2:

/bg DO NOT DEF Stonehearth GY... so they CAN NOT rez at RH
/bg Report AFK

If you are going to use both they are meant to be hit one after the other. If you don't know how to put this into a Macro, it is easy following the steps below.

1. Type /macro in chat to open the Macro program.
2. Click on "New"
3. Select a icon for, and name, your Macro
4. Save it
5. Paste the above AV-1 text into the Macro (Everything starting with /bg)
6, Repeat for AV-2
7. It is automatically saved so just drag the icon into your tool bar.

You're done.

Good Luck :)

Battlegrounds 6/24/09

My daily battleground was Eye of the Storm again today. We won the first one I was in and I stuck around to fight in 3 more, 2 wins and one loss.

For the most part I got lucky and had some pretty good groups. In 2 of the 3 battles we won we had a 3 cap going and were running the flag. In the other win we had a 2 cap and were running the flag but so were the Horde, that one came out a lot closer. We did have a 3 cap going for a couple minutes but couldn't hold onto it. Towers are the key to winning in EoS, not the flag. If you can take and hold 3 towers you don't even need to touch the flag. With 2 towers you need to run, or at least hold, the flag to keep the Horde from running up points.

In the battle we lost no one seemed interested in getting towers, they were more interested in the flag. We got 2 towers at the start then lost one of them. No one seemed interested in getting it back, they were still trying for the flag. You can run the flag non-stop if you only have one tower and you're still going to lose. Unfortunately people don't understand that and it costs us a lot of battles.

I did my daily cooking and fishing too, cooking was Mustard Dogs! again and the fishing was Dangerously Delicious again, a lot of variety there... I ran around a little bit and desecrated some Horde fires while honoring some Alliance fires. I got a bunch more Burning Blossoms on Wranngar. Gomorra did the last cooking daily he had to do for The Rokk, (61,15) in Shattrath, to complete the Kickin' It Up a Notch achievement. He had already done all of them a hundred times but didn't have credit for any of them. He also doesn't have any credit for cooking any Outlands food which is just wrong. How did he get his cooking to 375, then on to 450, without ever cooking any Outlands food?

Daily Battleground - EoS 6/23/09

My daily battleground today was Eye of the Storm. I got lucky and got a good group on my first battle.

We won with a 3 cap but it was a rotating 3 cap, meaning we would lose one and get another one. The Horde would take DR and we would take BET, the Horde would take MT and we would take FRR, it makes for a lot of good kills :). We were also running the flag as were the Horde but running the flag means nothing if you only have one tower like the Horde did. Their time would have been better spent getting, and holding, another tower than fighting in the middle for the flag. We ended up winning by about 800 points. There were no AFK in this battle and it was the only EoS I fought in.

I fought in 2 Alterac Valley battles tonight too, both losses but I got a lot of kills. The first one I was in we were just outclassed I guess. The Horde were in Dun Baldar almost from the start and the only resistance they found were the AFK there. There were at least 10 AFK in each of the 2 battles I was in, that is 1/4 or more of our team. I am still not sure why Blizzard allows them to stay for the entire battle, taking a spot from someone who could be fighting, instead of kicking them out and giving them some kind of a ban from battlegrounds. Actually I have a pretty good idea why, Blizzard dosen't want to piss them off and lose their $15 a month.

The second battle I was in we actually started off pretty good, we had IBT, IBGY and TP capping and someone started FWGY capping. Then some idiot capped SHGY and all the Horde started rezzing in front of us. The took FWGY back, then they took IBGY back. As usual the morons that were defending SHGY with everything they had just gave DB to the horde so they capped our North and South Bunkers, along with Stone Hearth Bunker and Icewing Bunker. After that all the had to do was kill Vann and it was over. When will people learn that capping SHGY is a guaranteed loss?

The Underbog 6/22/09

I saw in WorldDefense that Ironforge was under attack so I headed there. While I was there I met up with Thayah, a level 63 Deathknight, and Dreaneth a level 80 hunter. We decided to do some of the Summer Festival quests. During that Thayah said he wanted to do Underbog so we headed to Zangarmarsh to do that.

We ended up doing 2 runs as he was looking for a certain drop but we never got it. It went pretty smoothly, we only had one death and that was me lol, I was too busy taking screenshots with the interface off for my blog and wasn't watching my health. I was tanking and I rounded up a bunch of mobs each time for us to take out, a lot more than I would have if I was the correct level for that instance. I didn't heal after one onslaught and went right into another without checking my health. I got a little too involved and forgot the basics lol.

The Underbog is around level 60, the mobs are 60-65 elites in there. I got the achievement for completing it, I haven't done many dungeons on Wranngar at all but I really enjoyed this one. After the second run the group sort of broke up so we called it a night on dungeons although we could probably have 2 manned Slave Pens. Thayah got some good drops out of there, there was nothing in there for me or Dreaneth that we could use. I plan to start raiding on Gomorra soon, the top level dungeons.

I kind of gave up on dungeons a long time ago because I was sick of getting 1/2-3/4 of the way through a dungeon to have the group fall apart. I started lots of dungeons and only finished a few..... Now I am ready to try again though. A friend of mine, Beerchick, Champion of the Naaru, said I am welcome to join their guild, BeerBeer and raid with them, I might take him up on it. It is much better to raid with a guild than a pick-up group.

The Ghostfish Mystery 6/22/09

I got my daily's out of the way pretty quick today. The cooking was Mustard Dogs! and the fishing was The Ghostfish.

I did the cooking first as usual, it only took me a couple minutes on each, not many people were doing it at that time. The rewards were the usual, nothing special.

I went to Sholazar Basin to catch my Phantom Ghostfish. I fly up top a little Northwest of the flight point to fish for it, I usually get one there in less than 10 casts. I got it on both in a few minutes. You have 60 seconds to eat the Phanton Ghostfish before it disappears, hence the mystery, you can't bring one back. Once you catch and eat one the quest is complete, all you have to do then is go back to Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran and tell her what you found out.

The daily battleground today was Eye of the Storm, we won the second one I was in. The reward for that is 13g23s and 1241 honor. The first group I was in was pretty bad, we didn't have any towers yet almost the entire group was in the middle fighting for the flag.... The second group was better, we had some flagtards but not too many, not enough to cost us the battle. After that I didn't even bother with any other battlegrounds.

Battlegrounds 6/21/09

It took me 5 battles in Eye of the Storm to get my daily done on Wranngar which is just sad. It was some of the worst PvP play I have seen in awhile and I have seen some pretty poor PvP play latley. No one was defending anything, everyone was going for the flag, nobody was trying for towers, I guess they were just trying for achievements.

In one of the battles everyone came off the rock and went to MT, me and one other person were the only ones that went to FRR, needless to say we died. In a couple other battles more than half the team came off the rock and went right to the flag. A lot of people were pissed. In one battle we had one person that got, and lost, the flag twice while we didn't even have any towers..... Like I said, it was just sad to see.

The stupidity didn't stop there, it was going on in AB and AV as well. I fought in 2 battles in AV, both losses. One ended up in a turtle at DB and the other we lost because someone thought it would be smart to take SHGY which is pretty much a guaranteed loss.

In AB there was no teamwork and people couldn't understand, if all the Horde are at ST, GO CAP SOMETHING ELSE!!!!! They just didn't get it and continued to waste time, one or two at a time, trying to get ST back..... I call this phenomenon 'Nap Time is Over' because it seems like the battleground is full of kids with no understanding of strategy. Or a undrestanding of anything else PvP for that matter.

As usual there were a lot of AFK in all the battles I was in, except for the one AB I fought in but we lost that to a 5 cap so it was fast and might not have been enough time for the TuringTest AFK Reporter to report them AFK.

Daily's 6/21/09

I only did the cooking and fishing again today. The cooking was Sewer Stew and the fishing was Blood Is Thicker on my server, Aman'thul. I also did the achievement Critter Gitter on Gomorra.

I didn't get anything worth mentioning as far as rewards go from the cooking or fishing, just the usual stuff.

Critter Gitter is a fun easy quest that only takes a minute. I took some Critter Bites with me when I went to do the daily fishing and, after I got my 5 Bloodtooth Frenzy for the daily fishing, I headed out to the icebergs off Unu'pe in Borean Tundra. There are all kinds of Penguins on them and I had no problem getting 10 of them to be my friend in under 3 minutes. Actually it took me less than 30 seconds to round up 10 of them. All you need to do is target one and toss him a treat by right clicking on it. Or, if you have a universal hot key slot in your action bar like I do, just target and hot key. That is one more step towards my chef title on Gom.

Battleground Leechers 6/21/09

I am so sick of all the leechers in the battlegrounds I have decided to list them. The following is a list of the people that were leeching in the battlegrounds I was in today along with the battleground they were in.

Eye of the Storm
Kryptonikk - Frostwolf - 2 battles

Alterac Valley
Deerht Jenkins - Kil'Jaeden - 2 battles
Proteja - Tichondrius - 2 battles
Xybodhi - Ner'zhul - 2 battles
Trinketpls of the Nightfall - Frostmourne - 2 battles
Priorie - Aman'Thul - 1 battle
Korad - Blackrock - 1 battle
Darylol, Champion of the Frozen Wastes - Frostmourne - 2 battles
Supchief - Tichondrius - 1 battle
Tac - Sliverhand - 1 battle
Alkemist - Tichondrius - 1 battle
Kristana - Tichondrius - 1 battle
Talker - Sliverhand - 1 battle

These people were AFK thoughout the battle until at least the last few minutes, all the AFK seem to come alive in the last couple minutes trying to clear the AFK debuff so they can get marks and honor. Blizzard should have something in place to remove them once they are AFK for a certain amount of time but, unfortunatley, they do not...... If one of these is your character or one of these characters is in your guild, you must be so proud.

Alterac Valley 6/20/09

My daily battleground today was Alterac Valley. I almost didn't take it and now I wish I hadn't. It was some piss poor PvP on the part of the Alliance. I had to ask and see if it was AV weekend, that's how bad it was.

The biggest problem in all the battles was idiots taking and holding SHGY. Taking and holding SHGY is pretty much a guaranteed loss, it keeps ALL the Horde in front of us so we can't advance. The saddest part was it was the same people in a few of the battles who took it each time. Evidently they are too stupid to learn from their mistakes and are doomed to repeat them over and over again. It took me 8 battles to get my daily done. There were also a lot of AFK in all the battles I was in, Blizzard is doing a great job taking care of that. When someone is marked AFK they should have 90 seconds to get into battle and clear it. If they don't they should be removed from the battleground and given a 3 day ban from fighting in any battleground. That would be first offense. Second offense they should be banned from playing WoW for 3 days. Third offense should be a lifetime ban from the battlegrounds and a week ban from playing WoW. The problem is Blizzard doesen't want to piss off the AFK because then they would lose their $15 a month. The hell with the rest of us I guess.....

I also fought in 2 Eye of the Storm, one win and one loss. In the win we took and held 3 towers and ran the flag. That is how EoS should be played, get at least 3 towers before you waste time on the flag. In the loss 3/4 of our team came off the rock when the shield lifted and went straight for the flag. That is how EoS should NOT be played. Flagtards cost us more battles than anything else. I think one of the main reasons they do this is the achievements, I wish they would just do away with them, they cause a lot of problems in ALL the battlegrounds. Once again I am sick of playing with idiots in the battlegrounds and will probably take a break from them and do daily's.

Northrend Daily's 6/20/09

I got my daily's out of the way as soon as I logged on today. The fishing was Monsterbelly Appetite and the cooking was Infused Mushroom Meatloaf.

As usual these didn't take me too long. I didn't get anything worth mentioning for rewards from either.

Battlegrounds 6/19/09

My daily battleground today was Strand of the Ancients again today, way to give some variety Blizzard...

I did it on Wranngar and we won the second one I was in. The first one was close but we lost in the end. The second one wasn't even remotely close and we won it easily. I turned that in and collected my 13g23s and 1241 bonus honor. I should have enough honor to get another piece in a day or two.

After that I did some Eye of the Storm. It is amazing how some people still don't know how to play EoS, they claim to know how to play it and give a lot of 'advice' but they have no clue. Today there was someone spouting off about the importance of the flag. The flag is not important, the towers are. With 3 towers you don't need to run the flag at all to win. Same thing with 4 towers. With 2 towers you have to run, or get and hold, the flag. Not surprisingly that battle had a lot of flagtards in it, it was a loss because we only held 2 towers at best and lost them a few times because everyone was in the middle fighting for the flag. The Flag to EoS is what Galv is to AV, put there to distract the stupid. Anyway that was the only bad group I was in, I ended up with 6 wins and one loss. The Alliance was playing like it used to in EoS :).

I fought in 2 AV's too, both losses. The first loss was really close and I though we had it, we had Drek down to 17% when the Horde either killed Vann or our resources ran out, I wasn't paying attention. In the second battle we held SHGY which is pretty much a guaranteed loss... People just don't get it, if you hold SHGY it keep all the Horde in front of you and you lose 9 times out of 10. The only way you can win is if you have a really good group. I haven't seen any really good groups in AV in awhile. We had 8 AFK in the second battle.

Northrend Daily's 6/19/09

I did a bunch of daily's today. The fishing I got from Marcia Chase (53,65), by the fountain in Dalaran was The Ghostfish and the cooking I picked up from Katherine Lee (41,65), the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in the kitchen of A Hero's Welcome was Mustard Dogs! again.

As usual I did the cooking first, that had me running all over Dalaran looking for Wild Mustard. It didn't take me long to get the 4 I needed on each today, I was actually kind of surprised at how quickly it went. I combined that with some Rhino Dogs to make a Mustard Dog Basket!. Once I had that I delivered it to Archmage Pentarus (68,41) at Krasus' Landing in exchange for 9g93s, 2 Dalaran Cooking Awards and a Small Spice Bag.

Gomorra's Small Spice Bag had 3 Northern Spices in it. Not a great haul for Gom but I'll take it.

Wranngar's Small Spice Bag had 4 Northern Spices in it along with another Dalaran Cooking Award making 3 for him, not a bad day for Wrann.

After that I headed over to River's Heart in Sholazar Basin to catch a Phantom Ghostfish. It took me a few minutes on both to get one today, it usually goes a lot quicker than it did today. Once I caught one I ate it right away. They are on a timer that starts clocking as soon as you loot it, you have 60 seconds before it disappears. Eating it reveals the mystery to you and completes the quest. I headed back to Marcia and told her I figured out the mystery so she gave me a Bag of Fishing Treasures for my trouble.

Wrann's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 9g7s11c, 3 Elixirs of Water Walking, an Unusual Compass and 2 Deviate Fish. I was hoping for better. I can always hope :).

Gom's Bag of Fishing Treasures had 8g19s48c, a Glow Worm, 2 Solid Gold Coins, which I sold to a vendor for a gold each, and 3 Deviate Fish. There used to be a time when Deviate Fish were worth something but those days are over.

I did all my daily's for The Sons of Hodir on Gom but not on Wrann, I just didn't feel like doing them on him. He was busy in the battlegrounds anyway. The daily's I do for The Sons of Hodir are Blowing Hodir's Horn, Hot and Cold, Polishing the Helm, Spy Hunter and Feeding Arngrim. These take me about a half hour and get me around 80+ gold with drops. My gold supply hasn't been piling up too fast since I stopped doing these.

Daily Battleground 6/18/09

My daily battleground today was Strand of the Ancients again, we won the first one I was in. It was the quickest easiest SoA I have ever been in. We just got off the boat, broke through the gates and got to the relic. It took about 90 seconds. I guess whatever time we do it in is the time the Horde have to do it in. They only got through one gate before it was over.

I fought in one Wintergrasp, a win. We were offense and the Horde were defending Wintergrasp. We won that one in about 11 minutes. I think I got 26 kills out of that one. I am starting to get the hang of WG now. It is a little different as you can either be defending or attacking depending on who is in possession of WG when you go in. I am building up my marks for a headpiece I want to get.

I fought in one Arathi Basin, a loss. No surprise there, the Alliance has really been sucking in AB lately. We lost to a 5 cap. I don't know if people are too stupid to work together or if they are just trying for the achievements but whatever the problem is it's not working. It was the same old crap, people riding up to nodes, starting them capping, then riding out. We used to do pretty well in AB now I think we are lucky to win one in ten.

We were doing ok today in Eye of the Storm, we had 3 wins and 2 losses. Not great but ok. We had a 4 cap in one of our wins, it was The Perfect Storm. I already had it but a bunch of other people got the achievement. You get The Perfect Storm when you win 2000/0, meaning the horde didn't cap anything. There were a few AFK and a couple bots in the battles I was in. This is because season 6 came out and they are trying to bot/AFK themselves into season 5 gear. People who bot or AFK make me sick, they are losers who are taking a spot from someone who could be fighting.

Daily's 6/18/09

I got all my daily's done on both toons today. The cooking was Mustard Dogs! and the fishing was Jewel Of The Sewers.

These didn't take me too long today and I didn't have any problems doing them on Wranngar today.

I didn't get anything worth mentioning as rewards from either today. I did get a Battered Jungle Hat on Wrann. I asked in trade if anyone wanted it for free and got a lot of replies, I will have to be more careful next time lol. Here's a screen shot of my bank alt wearing one.

Assorted Battlegrounds 6/17/09

Today was some of the worst PvP play I have seen in a long time by the Alliance. We couldn't win anything, it was sad. I fought in 4 Strand of the Ancients, 1 wins, 2 losses and one draw. It was my daily today. I always wondered what happened if no one was able to get at the relic, now I know, it is a draw.

I fought in 2 Eye of the Storm, both losses. We usually dominate EoS, that's what made it that much sadder. You could tell in 2 battles that the quality of players was such that we were not going to win in there soon. No one was defending anything, everyone was going for the flag, everyone that wasn't AFK that is. Blizzard has been working on the AFK problem in the battlegrounds for a couple years now, hopefully they will have a soultion soon.....

Surprisingly enough we won the 2 Arathi Basin battles I was in. They were both close but we pulled it off. For the most part people were guarding nodes and then going in a group, not one or two, to try for another node. I guess all the compentent players were fighting in AB today. I usually head to the Gold Mine and help cap then defend that when I am in AB. If we lose that then I usually go on offense and help capture another node. There was only one AFK in one of the battles I was in and none in the other.

I fought in one Wintergrasp which we won. That actually went pretty well. We won it in just a little over 11 minutes, we were defending. I got a couple achievements in there today, I have not done a lot of fighting in there yet. I couldn't get the quests today for some reason so I didn't get all the honor I had been getting.

Lastly I fought in one Alterac Valley. We lost that one too. The main reason behind that loss was people decided to hold SHGY. Holding SHGY keeps all the Horde in front of us the whole time, making it impossible to advance. You try to tell people this and they either can't read or don't care. They certainly don't learn from their mistakes because the same people will be in there the next battle fighting to hold SHGY. We lose a lot of AV's when the Alliance holds SHGY. Holding SHGY is pretty much a guaranteed loss.

On the plus side I broke 60,000 lifetime kills on Wrann today. I have less than 40,000 to go to hit 100,000 and get my 'of the Alliance' title.
